Story Start!

It was a very unpleasant next 6 days.

Mostly unpleasant for Naruto, and while everyone else had to put up with crappy meals, only he was the one who was sympathizing with a cow after cutting off Naruto steaks and cooking them up for everyone. Everyone else could get a good night's sleep, but whenever Naruto went to 'sleep', in actuality he was just letting Kurama take over as his went to half-sleep, but he was still awake inside of his mind.

"So, how much longer do you think the Eternity Devil will last before it goes nuts?" Himeno asked as she felt the wall, and it was rumbling slightly. The Eternity devil was hungry, it was so very hungry that sometimes it was moan and growl in hunger, causing the rooms to shake lightly. Himeno tapped her finger against the wall, her eye twitching in annoyance.

She had not had a hit of a cigarette in 8 days.

They had been trapped in this damn place for 9 whole days waiting for the Eternity Devil to starve itself into insanity. She wanted to snap at people, but she forced herself to keep her calm, not snap, and remember that any suffering she was experiencing, it wasn't alone. Aki was tense and pissed as well, since he smoked his last cigarette and wanted to get hers. They had both pretty much been forced to go cold turkey from their shared addiction, and it was so very tempting to break out the cigarette she was saving for when they got out of this place.

"Hey... Human... Pssssst..."

An ugly, twisted face with horrible teeth, peeking out at her from the crack in the hallway door.

"You want a smoke, to escape... stab the blond male. Stab him right in the heart, and feed me Denji, and you, your friends, can all go free. It's a contract... you can do it." The Eternity Devil whispered as it slipped a fancy knife through the crack in the door. It retreated when she grabbed the knife and stabbed it in the forehead.

"Guys, Eternity just tried to make a deal with me!"

"On it!" Naruto pushed Himeno out of the way, crossing the room before anyone could blink. He ripped open the door, and saw the Eternity Devil escaping down the hallway. A large lump of faces and flesh was it's body, not it's true form though. Everyone started to rush into action, and the rooms shook as the devil's hunter reached it's peak.

Naruto cut open his wrist and threw his blood across the hallway.

"FOOD!"

"Gotcha!" Naruto punched the devil, and it howled in pain. He sensed the real body was somewhere hidden in the fleshy prison that he had grabbed onto, as he grabbed onto it's hideous flesh. Naruto grinned as it grew tons of hands to grab onto him, and it tried to rip him apart. "Heheheheh... I'm a little too tough for you to rip up." Naruto had a hand grab his face to try and squeeze his head.

"I got it too!" Himeno extended her hand, and the devil had a ghost hand grab onto it to prevent it from running away.

"Kon." Aki stated, summoning the fox devil. "... it failed."

"We're cut off from regular space time, the fox devil can't answer your call here." Himeno hissed in annoyance as she extended her arm to block Aki from getting any closer to the devil, as he drew his weapon. "No, not that." Himeno was not about to let Aki use the nail sword he was wielding, not on this devil.

"Why... is your body... so hard... to rip apart?"

"Because, I'm just that tough, and you're weak... you're starving... and you're afraid of me." Naruto listed out the various reasons for why the Eternity devil wasn't able to hurt him.

"Contract! I'll let you-"

"No contract! No deal! You're not in a position to demand anything loser, this is where you die." Naruto had hands all over his body trying to kill him, but the weakened devil could only whimper in fear as it locked eyes with Naruto. Naruto's complete lack of fear of the damned creature caused a fear response in it, and it's own hunger weakened it. "We've been in here for 9 days... enough time for you to starve." Naruto grinned wider as he reached out and grabbed onto one of the faces of the devil.

"This isn't it's main body, how do you plan to kill it?" Aki asked Naruto as the others joined in the hallway.

Naruto dug his finger's into the devil.

"I'm going to give this devil a taste of something worse than a devil." Naruto stated, and the devil tried to scramble away from him. All of it's hands let go of Naruto, and it tried it's hardest to escape Naruto's grasp. Naruto kept a firm grip on it, and he stayed planted to the ground with chakra, so the devil couldn't escape his grip. It's fear caused the devil to shrink down, and then shrink even more until it was no bigger than a large boar. "Kurama." Naruto stated.

Kurama's toxic chakra seeped through Naruto's hand, and invaded the body of the devil.

It's real body might be hidden inside of this fleshy prison, but if that body was connected at all to this body, then this would do it. The highly toxic chakra caused the devil immense pain, so immense that it screamed a dastardly scream. Naruto gripped it tighter so that it couldn't wiggle it's way out of his grasp, and he fed it even more of the powerful, dangerous chakra. It's body bubbled and melted.

"Holy crap."

"Good, make it suffer until it dies." Aki actually smiled, a real smile, as he watched the devil who had trapped them for over a week, and deprived him of nicotine, suffering as it died. He didn't need to know what Naruto was doing.

"Give me your heart, and I'll kill you right now... or you can try and survive, but you'll just prolong your death... die now, or die later." Naruto offered the devil, and it opened it's large maw, before it summoned forth an infinity shaped chunk of flesh.

Naruto swung his arm, and cut it in half.

"The outside!"

Kobeni looked in the hotel room, and out the window she saw the sunlight. Her eyes shined as she raced across the room, and she opened the window right up. Fresh air graced all of them, and they crowded up to the window to get their first taste of fresh air in well over a week. There was a collective relief from everyone that their suffering had ended, though it wasn't as bad as it could have been.

Naruto walked over so he was standing behind the group.

"That was very vindictive of you Naruto."

'Damn right, I've been cutting off and cooking myself for almost a week now.' Naruto felt a grim satisfaction with the kill. It was petty that he caused the devil to suffer before it died, but suffering was the only way to make the devil prefer a quick death over prolonging it. All things considered, Naruto didn't enjoy causing unneeded suffering to his enemies if he could help it. At times, it was needed, and he would hand out punishment before death.

Himeno was scrambling with her box of cigarettes, before she pulled out her last cigarette, and lit it up right then and there. She leaned out the window, took a long drag of it, before she blew out the most satisfied puff of smoke out of her entire life. She collapsed over the side of the window, and relaxed her entire body.

"About time, this vacation sucked. The beds were comfy, but the food was terrible, and there weren't even any board games."

"This wasn't a vacation, this was a job, and we're lucky we all made it out unharmed." Aki stated as he swiped Himeno's addiction stick, and took a long drag of it himself, before she took it right back from him, and then hissed like a cat. She refused to let him take another drag, so he would have to make due with the small hit that he had gotten, until he could go buy some more. "Denji, take Power straight home and don't take any detours." Aki ordered.

"No way, I want to go get some grub."

"I'll cook a good meal when we get back." Aki stated.

"Yessir." Denji and Power both saluted, running away to exit the hotel.

"Can you all... give us some privacy, I need to... tell Naruto how thankful I am... privately."

"No can do sister, the two of us have a report to make, and your big sister Himeno needs to pick up a lot more cigs." Himeno grabbed Kobeni before she could put the moves on Naruto. Naruto looked at Hirokazu, who watched what Kobeni said with blushed cheeks.

"A woman should keep her chastity until her wedding night!?"

"Naruto, when you killed that devil, you chanted the word Kurama... do you have a devil contract you haven't told anyone about?" Aki asked Naruto, and slowly everyone else was making their way out of the hotel, until it was only Naruto and Aki, who went to the corpse of the Eternity devil, and found a bullet shaped chunk of flesh inside of it's corpse. Aki looked at it, before he nodded firmly, and gripped the flesh hatefully.

"I've got a bunch of secrets, and you don't have the clearance to know about it... unless Makima wants to tell you." Naruto deadpanned, since he wasn't in a position where he thought it was a good idea to tell the truth. He kind of agreed with Makima, that the less people who knew his origins the better.

Aki nodded.

"That was a crazy plan you hatched back there. I underestimated you... I thought you were just strong idiot, but there are some brains in that empty skull of yours." Aki complimented him in the most insulting way possible. Naruto shrugged off the insult, but not without giving a deadpan stare to Aki for it.

He was used to being called stupid, but this combination of words was a first for him.

"Thank you for saving us all, and keeping us fed for over a week Naruto, I sure owe you a lot." Naruto stated the words that SHOULD have come out of Aki's mouth.

"Doing whatever it takes to kill the devil and complete the mission is the duty of devil hunters, I don't owe..." Aki closed his eyes, before he nodded his head. "Okay, yeah, thanks. You didn't have to do what you did, so thank you. I won't forget what you suffered through for us." Aki changed his tune as he thought about it.

This mission could have gone so much worse if Naruto hadn't been there for them.

He at least owed Naruto a heartfelt thanks for what he did.
