Hello Readers, I'm back with more to this new story. Happy 2024 to everyone! Hopefully, the first month of 2024 is treating you well. I hope that you all enjoyed the first chapter of this story, now we are going to be going back to Adventure Bay for this chapter. So let's get back into this story, Enjoy!
No One's POV:
The sun was shining brightly over the city of Adventure Bay. The water gently ripples over the bay as a breeze disturbs the surface. A clear day complimented the sun's warmth with birdsong sounding on the summer wind. Leaves rustled as the sound of barking rose above them. The paw patrol was out on the front lawn of the lookout.
The pups were playing a game of freeze tag as Rocky was in pursuit of Marshall.
"I'm going to get you Marshall!" Rocky said determined to get his spotted teammate
"We will see!" Marshall said and put on a best of speed, but in his showboating, his front paw caught a rock. He tumbled head over paw and cartwheeled about 20 yards into a stack of pillows with a thump.
Rocky, with a smug look on his face, walked over to the spotted pup and tagged his tail and it stopped wagging.
"I guess my hot streak has come to a chilling end" Marshall joked and Rocky laughed as he helped Marshall up and Marshall chose a position to be frozen in. The other pups ran around, Everest came running by and saw Marshall frozen. She smiled and ran over and unfroze him with a kiss.
"Well, that is the best way to unfreeze someone, the heat of love" Marshall said causing Everest to laugh and both took off running as Rocky came near them. But his target was Skye, who he managed to get as she slipped on the wet morning dew on the grass. Not long after, her fiancé, Chase came by and kissed her to unfreeze her.
Skye giggled "Copycat"
"Cat?!" Chase Joked "How dare you Skye, I'm no such beast" he said sarcastically
"Oh, quiet you" she silenced him with a kiss. Suddenly she took off and Rocky took the chance to freeze Chase.
"Darn you Rocky, you saw my weakness!" Rocky laughed just as Skye unfroze Chase and they both took off running. After an hour of playing the game, the pups stopped and went to get some water.
It has been about 2 weeks since Marshall and Chase proposed to the girls and the weddings were scheduled to happen in 6 months. Lots of planning was happening for the two couples as their big day was coming. Ryder was gone for the day; he has been going on lots of trips lately. The pups had no idea where he kept going. Sometimes it was for a day, other times it was a whole weekend, on those trips Katie would watch the pups. This happened to be one of those trips, except Kate went with Ryder this time, so Jake volunteered to watch the pups in their absence. Jake sat out on a lawn chair relaxing as the pups played, beside him was his girlfriend, Stacy, whom he had been dating for the past few months.
Just then, Jake sat up and looked over at the pups as they took a break.
"What do you pups want for lunch?" Jake asked
"Liver sausages!" Screamed Rubble
"How about pizza?" Marshall suggested followed by agreements from most of the pups.
"Sorry Rubble looks like it's pizza" Jake said as he walked towards the front doors of the lookout.
"My tummy and I and not picky, besides, we love pizza" Rubble stated.
The group laughed and the pups went to do things individually, except for the two couples. Everest and Marshall walked off together towards town. Chase and Sky headed towards the pup houses.

Chase's POV:
We went to my pup house after playing freeze tag to wash off before Jake finished making the pizza. We took a shower together and just as we finished drying off, Jake announced that the pizza was ready. We all sat around and ate pizza outside in the beautiful weather. After Skye and I went on a walk to work off the pizza. We decided to take the walking paths on the outer streets of Adventure Bay. We came up on the Adventure Bay Forest, after we entered the forest I heard some wings flapping and then something landed on my head.
"Um… Skye, what is on my head?" I asked not moving
She turned around and immediately burst out laughing "It's little Hooty"
I looked up and sure enough, my little friend was upon my head. "Hey little buddy, how's it going?" I asked
The little owl hooted in response, telling me all was good, "glad to hear it bud" I said
Skye was giggling at our interaction. I looked up and smiled, "We are going on a walk Hooty, want to come with us as we go through the forest?" The little owl nodded and started to fly beside us.
I fell into step with Skye, and we continued our walk. "It is a beautiful day today" Skye said taking in a deep breath and sighing with contempt.
"I agree" I agreed, suddenly the bushes behind us rustled. I spun around taking a defensive stance and growled. Skye did the same behind me. Then out of the bushes came a squirrel, we both relaxed slightly looking at each other.
"I thought it was…"
"Same here Skye. I guess that left us with scars too deep to forget" I said while Hooty looked confused as to why we feared a squirrel.
It was not the squirrel we feared, it was the thought of gang dogs stalking us. It was not too long ago that Skye was kidnapped by my brother Swift and his gang. Swift had taken both Skye and Everest and attacked Adventure Bay by kidnapping some of the children as well. The Paw Patrol then went to my hometown, Detmold, and brought the fight to the gangs. We tracked them down and waged war against all the gangs of Detmold to find and rescue Skye and Everest at the gang boss's mansion. By the end of it Swift, Sylvia, and a good number of the gang dogs were dead. The mansion was destroyed as well and the gangs themselves were destroyed and disbanded.
"I thought that was Sylvia, Waxer, or Boil" Skye said shivering at the thought
"They are gone for good, there is no need to worry" I said
"You're right," she stated "but still I can never fight that feeling when a bush rustles or the thought of someone watching me" Skye said reminiscing the recent past
"You know I will always protect you, even if I have to give up my life to do it" I reassured her
She looked up and smiled "I know, you did it for me once already"
I walked up right next to her "And I'll gladly do it again babe" I said kissing her and she giggled
We kept walking through the forest enjoying our little owl's company. But at the end of the forest, he stopped and gestured that he had to go back.
"We will see you later Hooty" I said and nuzzled him affectionately
Skye said goodbye and we headed into the town. We came up by the train station. I helped Skye over the tracks, and we climbed onto the station's platform, sitting on one of the benches.
"Do you remember when we said goodbye to each other after we first met?" Skye asked
"How could I forget; I never thought I'd see you again. But you came back and joined the Paw Patrol" " I reminisced
"That was the day I fell for you; I just wasn't fully aware of it," Skye said
"I felt the same way" I said, we both smiled and stayed there for a while then we headed off to continue our walk.
We wound up by a cliff in the mountains by Adventure Bay and we took a seat close to the edge and looked out over the town. "I'm going to be honest Skye, I never thought you had feelings for me, I always thought you saw me as a friend or a teammate. At least that was until I turned and went bad" I said
Skye then giggled and then sighed defeated "I guess I didn't have the guts to tell you how I felt. I had a feeling that you liked me, but I never knew that, until that same time." Skye said
Then we cuddled close to each other, for a moment we did not say a thing to each other and just watched the sunset.
"Chase"
I looked down at Skye, her head was down and she started shivering
"Skye, what is it?" I asked
"I have to tell you something… I… I have" she started; I could see her struggling with some internal conflict. I put my paw on her back; she then turned to look at me.
"It is ok Skye; you can tell me" I said nuzzling her
Her breath shuttered, "I have… I have the videotape of that jewelry store" she finally blurted out
My blood froze. The jewelry store I robbed with Sylvia. "I kept it, my first intention was to give it to Ryder not long after you got back from the academy."
"You What?" I said scooting around to face her. She looked up, her eyes red, tears streaming down her face, and her breath in short breaths.
"But… But… I never did. I saw how much you have changed. You changed yourself back for me. I had p-planned to destroy it and keep it a secret. But then I was c-c-captured, and I saw something else that changed from that." She said crying "I-I-I saw that same pup, except it was a p-pup that was fighting for… love and for the protection of others. That day I saw a real police K9. That moment I knew you had returned, the brave police pup I fell in love with." Skye said bawling
I looked at her in shock, she held the one thing that could get me locked up and probably lose my reacquired officer status. In my head I had a small voice screaming and wanting to be so mad because she held a secret that I wanted to hide and bury for good. However, there was a much bigger voice that drowned out that smaller voice.
I slid closer to her as she cried, I took my paw and slowly tilted her head up. She looked at me with an expression of pain and grief. I gave her a kind smile and wiped away the tears. Then I brought her head to mine and kissed the top of it.
"I'm not mad Skye. As a police pup, I should take it and turn it. But I'm not going to because I know that would break you. I know you would feel responsible for it. I'm proud that you kept that in case I fell off the right path again. That Is love, you were keeping me accountable and helping me to stay a better dog, thank you" I said smiling
She gasped and then broke down, falling into my chest "I'm so sorry Chase!" She cried and I drew her into a hug
"As I said, I forgive you," I said "but I will take that tape" I said in a lighthearted tone, and it caused her to laugh a little
"Of course," she said and embraced a hug. We stayed up on the cliff until Skye could collect herself and then we made our way back to the Lookout by walking through town. When we got back to the lookout, Skye went into her pup house and grabbed the tape.
"Here… this has the footage of the robbery. I have not shown it to anyone." Skye stated
Her voice did not waver, so I knew she told the truth, "Thank you Skye"
"We do crazy things for love, even go against the law" Skye said and gave me a kiss "Goodnight Chase" she said and went into her pup house.
I took that tape into my pup house and then closed the door behind me. I pressed a button and the wall to my right opened and I placed it inside. I sighed as I closed it.
"I will have to turn this over to Ryder, I think he will be more forgiving than Lucky might be." I thought looking at the dreaded box. I stepped outside and looked over at Skye's pup house.
"I'm so sorry Skye, but I must turn this in" I said quietly and then went to bed.

Marshall's POV:
After we played Freeze tag, we went into town. We decided to have lunch in town, just the two of us. We went to Mr. Porter's restaurant, and we got sandwiches there. Then we came back to the lookout, got into our vehicles, and headed up to Jake's mountain. we stopped at Jake and Everest's cabin so Everest could grab some overnight things for tonight since she was staying at the Lookout. We transformed our vehicles into our pup houses, and we decided to take a walk into the forest before going back to the Lookout.
We walked through the forest for about 30 minutes, just enjoying each other's company. We came to a clearing, and Everest suddenly stopped. Everest stood rigid and I heard her hold her breath. I looked at the clearing and for a moment I felt my heart stop and a sudden surge of anger that came and went like a gust of wind. I walked up and brushed up against Everest to comfort her. The familiar clearing stirred a dark memory for the both of us.
"This was the place where…"
"I know babe" I said looking up at the opening above us.
We stood in the very clearing where Everest was kidnapped. Nothing was said as the memories flooded back into us. I remember the rage I felt here after I found out that Sylvia took Everest, not long after her gang took Skye. I also remember the mountain rescue we had to do to rescue the kidnapped kids of Adventure Bay. The death traps they set that could have killed all those children.
Not long after we completed that rescue, we then went to Detmold and began the search for the girls who were being held by the gangs. We had no idea where to start so we scattered across the city. There were firefights, one where Zuma got shot, some in abandoned neighborhoods, and others all over the city. We captured people to get information, attacked known gang locations, and rescued the family of a gang defector. Then came the battle of the Phoenix Mansion.
We brought multiple police departments, the military, and our personal friends. All of which to save Skye and Everest. The battle was intense, we killed over a hundred of the combined gang members, including the leader Swift. But unbeknownst to the Paw Patrol, I saved Sylvia because she was pregnant with pups. The father is still not known. So, I got her out of the complex. I even gave her a way to contact me, but she has yet to do so. After I made sure that she was safe, I dove back into the tunnels and I got buried looking for a way out. I thought I was going to die there. But I was rescued by the rest of the Paw Patrol and once I woke up, I decided right there to marry Everest, and that is what I did.
I looked over at my fiancé, "Everest, are you ok?" I asked
"Let's get going, I'd rather not relive what happened here" Physically shutting she slowly turned and started to walk away
I turned around and got next to her matching her steps "You know I would never let that happen again; I will die before you are ever in pain again" I said and brushed lovingly against her.
She looked at me smiling, kissed me, and we walked away from that location. We followed the hiking trail to Big View Point. We walked for about an hour talking about things, mostly about the wedding. When we got to Big View Point, we sat down and looked out at the sunset over Adventure Bay.
As we sat there a bush rustled and I whipped around in a defensive stance and Everest did the same, both of us growling. Suddenly a bird flew out and up into the air. Both of us sighed in relief and turned back to the view.
"I guess that experience has changed all of us" Everest said dejectedly
"It was not easy, but we made it through it… alive" I added sounding more cheerful at the end
"And about to be married" Everest added happily with a smile, something that she finds hard to do these days. Constant nightmares plague her, causing sleep loss. I understand the pain since I too have nightmares that keep me awake.
"Are you excited Everest, for the wedding?" I asked
"Very, we need something good to happen since most things have been bad recently" Everest said staring off into the sunset.
"We should head back; it will be dark soon. I'd rather not walk in the dark" I said to Everest after a while of sitting and talking.
She got up and stretched "I guess that would be smart" she said smiling at the end.
We made our way back and just as we came out of the forest onto the clearing near Jake's cabin, the sun started to set. We jumped into our vehicles and drove back to the lookout, arriving just as the sun reached the edge of the ocean horizon. I led her to the cliff side of the lookout's backyard, where we sat and watched the sunset. Jake walked out of the lookout not long after, saying hello and telling us to be inside once the sun was down. After Jake went back inside, I then stretched and was about to leave when I felt something on my paw. I looked to see Everest's paw on mine.
"Where are you going?" She asked a glint of worry in her gaze
"To bed, it's pretty late"
Everest started shuffling her paws "Will you stay with me tonight?"
"Of course, babe" I told her and kissed the top of her head causing her to smile. She then got up and we both walked to our pup houses.
"Hey, do you remember the other day when Ryder asked you to bring your Snowcat in for an upgrade?" I asked as we stopped in front of the pup houses.
"Yeah, why?" Everest asked
"I decided to make an upgrade myself, with Ryder's help. Watch this" I said, *Bark Bark* "Combine houses"
Suddenly the sides of our pup houses extended and merged. Then on top came a roof with two slanted rectangles.
"That is awesome!" Everest exclaimed
"And the best part is that our vehicles can detach if needed and the house will stay, or it will deconstruct back into our vehicles"
"Wow, Ryder truly is talented" Everest admired
"That he is," I said proudly, admiring the handiwork of my owner "Ryder can make just about anything"
"Speaking of Ryder, where is he? I haven't seen him for a couple of days?" Everest questioned
"He is on the mainland. Jake and Stacy are in charge while he is gone, he is coming back tomorrow." I answered
"Cool" Everest said in a big yawn
"Let's get you to bed babe" I said, and we entered into the bigger house part of the combined pup houses.
Inside was a spacious living room, a small kitchen big enough for two to fit comfortably, and a separate room with a king-size pup bed with a mahogany backboard decorated with snowflakes and pine trees. We walked through to the bedroom, and I helped Everest on the bed and snuggled next to her.
"Feeling better?" I asked
She smiled "Much better with you here"
"I promise I will never be anywhere but with you" I promised
She smiled and gave me a kiss. I returned the gesture and settled beside her listening to her rhythmic breathing lulling me to sleep.
It looks like the events from the previous story have taken a tremendous toll on the pups, a more severe toll on the couples. I wonder if the rest of the Paw Patrol will ever find out what Marshall did. The fact that he saved Sylvia! What happens if they find out that she is pregnant, with the possibility that Chase could be the father to those pups!? Will Sylvia Contact Marshall at some point for help? what if Chase finds out about that!? So many things to come and so many questions to answer.
