Author's Note: Okay so I added this chapter in the summer when I do my mid-year chapter addition (mid year so that I don't forget any ships by the time a whole year rolls around). I was really into Elongsue (the name still hasn't gotten any better, believe it or not) at the time and I'm not totally anymore?
But then I thought of the just the most absurd but in-character idea for this story and I had to go through with it XD
"Frost, thank God I found you." Ralph half-slid into the room on December 23rd, hand over his heart as he tried to catch his breath. "Look- I need your help. Big time."
Frost glanced up from where she was sitting in the STAR Labs lounge, a canvas on the table in front of her and paints spread all around it. "Can't you see I'm busy?" she huffed, glaring over at him.
"Oh." Ralph cringed, and glanced at his watch. "Uh… sorry. When are your visiting hours?"
"You don't need visiting hours," Frost groaned. "Just make it quick. What do you need?"
"Well," Ralph hurried over and took a seat beside her, causing Frost to glare but thankfully not shove him off the couch, "you remember a little bit ago, okay well, maybe a couple years ago? A year ago? A year and half ago? A-"
"Ralph…" Frost warned.
"Right, sorry, sorry." Ralph cleared his throat and hurried on. "So a certain amount of time ago you guys taught me that I could change my cells into any human form I wanted."
"So…?"
"So, I was wondering if I could also do that with nonhuman objects," Ralph asked. "Like… inanimate objects."
Frost made a face. "I mean yeah, I guess," she said, turning back to her painting and dipping her brush into her water cup to clean it. "But why the heck would you want to turn into an inanimate object?"
"So, um…" Ralph shifted uncomfortably on the couch. "I got the okay from Joe to invite Sue to the West's Christmas party, and she agreed."
Frost didn't look up from her painting. "What, exactly, is the relevance of that statement?"
"See, I've got this whole plan," Ralph sighed. "Sue would be, well, kind of a hard woman to score, you know? So I invited her to the party in case we might, I dunno, find a bit of mistletoe to stand under. But then I realized that was leaving it too much up to chance so I decided to master the ability to turn my hand into mistletoe instead."
"Well." Frost turned from her painting and squinted at him. "You certainly get points for creativity."
Ralph grinned. "Thanks, I was pretty proud of myself."
"To answer your question," Frost went on, ignoring him, "if you can turn your cells into someone else's body then I would assume that you could also turn them into an inanimate object with a little practice."
"Awesome," Ralph declared vehemently, hopping to his feet. "Thanks Frosty. And nice painting, by the way."
Frost tilted her head, contemplating that slightly abstract picture she had created of the Flash running at super speed. "Thanks," she accepted. "Don't think it quite does him justice, though."
"Nothing can," Ralph agreed with a grin, nudging her shoulder and heading out of the room.

"Sue! Glad you could make it," Barry greeted with a wide smile as he opened up the door to let Ralph's guest in.
"Hey, speedy boy," Sue replied, flicking her chin upward in a nod.
"Sue!" Ralph cried, skittering across the room. He was holding two glasses of spiked eggnog but only one of them was for him considering that he wanted to retain some decorum when around the woman he was crushing on. He handed Sue the other glass. "This would be for you."
"An unwrapped, store-bought mug?" Sue asked, raising her eyebrow. "With… liquid inside?"
"Hey!" Joe cried. "You're giving her one of my mugs as a Christmas present?"
"It's not even yours?"
"No no no!" Ralph cried, waving his free hand. "It's not a Christmas gift, good grief. It's just eggnog. For you to drink. Before putting the mug in the sink so that Joe or Cecile can wash it once everyone's left."
Joe made a face and Sue nodded slowly. "That makes… somewhat more sense," she admitted, finally coming all the way into the house and letting Barry take her coat. "So this is the famous West House, huh?"
"Indeed it is," Cecile agreed. "Welcome to our home, Sue."
Sue took a careful seat on the couch and gripped the handle of her mug. Despite her casual appearance, Ralph could tell she was slightly uncomfortable. To try and diminish that discomfort slightly, he sat down next to her, clinked their mugs together, and prepared himself to wait for just the right moment.
He had to wait awhile. About an hour in the half into the party, once everyone had eaten, the tree had been lit, and people were starting to drag a bit with the effect of wine and spiked eggnog, Ralph pulled Sue aside.
"What?" she asked flatly, raising her eyebrows and staring up at him.
Ralph hadn't thought this part through. His real reason for singling Sue out was so that they weren't conspicuously in the middle of the living room when he pulled his mistletoe trick.
He obviously couldn't tell Sue that, though, so he thought fast.
"Uhhh… I just wanted to tell you how absolutely lovely you looked but didn't want everyone to start teasing us," he said in a way he hoped was smooth, putting one hand behind his back and beginning to slowly stretch his arm up towards the ceiling.
"Oh," Sue replied, eyeing him suspiciously. "Well… you look nice, too."
"Really?" Ralph beamed at her, almost so distracted he forgot to keep executing his plan.
Sue shrugged. "I guess," she said.
Ralph's hand had made it to its destination now. He squinted slightly, concentrating hard, and felt his cells morph.
"Would you look at that!" he cried, pretending to just happen to glance up and catch sight of the object above them. "It's a sprig of mistletoe!"
Sue looked slowly towards the ceiling. "Would you look at that," she repeated, deadpan. "There's a stretched out arm attached to said sprig of mistletoe!"
Defeated, Ralph let his arm drop and shrink back into his body. "Darn," he sighed. "I really thought that would wor-mph!"
Sue had wrapped her hands around his neck. But instead of trying to strangle him for his trick, she used the movement to drag his head towards hers, hop up on her tip-toes, and kiss him.
Ralph groaned, unable to help himself from tugging Sue's hips closer to his and kissing her back quite hard.
There was a whoop from the living room and the two of them jumped apart to find the entirety of the extended Team Flash staring at them.
"What're you guys doing?" Cisco asked blankly. "There's not even mistletoe!"
Caitlin started laughing.
Author's Note: This has nothing to do with ElongSue but can we take a moment and fangirl about the fact that Frost was painting the Flash? :')
Okay anyway that was honestly really fun. I've said this 90 times already but I'm wicked sad that Hartley had to go and get fired because I was really looking forward to ElongSue this coming season :((((
