Catch-22: The Social Links

By: M14Mouse

Summary: Yu terr…I mean talk to the rest of Ren's social links.

Disclaimer: Don't own them

You can't stop a teacher when they want to do something. They just do it- J.D Salinger

Ren shouldn't be surprised.

Honestly, he thought that Sensei would have done it sooner.

It doesn't mean that it isn't any less embarrassing to hear stories of your Sensei from everyone. And the fact that he didn't even introduce Sensei to these people, it was kind of terrifying if he thought about it.

"How do you know these people, Sensei?" He asked as he set down cups of coffee on the table. One in front of Sensei then he placed the other in the spot across from him. Finally, he slipped into the spot across from him.

"Futaba calls Takemi-san… gothic doctor chick. Ryuji calls Togo-san…your church friend. Makoto calls Mifune-san…"

"Okay…okay…I get it. They kind of notice," He said as his face turned flushed.

Sensei just smiled.

"Yes, they notice. My friends noted when I was entirely too familiar with the hospital and the staff when we went for our checkups."

"Checkups?"

"Yes, Naoto was worried about the effect the fog had on our bodies. So, we went to the hospital for checkups, but the fog had no effect on us. We have a theory that our personas protected us from the effects."

"Effects?"

He heard Sensei's friends talk about it from time to time but he never got all of the details.

"People talked about embracing the fog. People running around buying and wearing gas masks. It felt like another world."

"It sounds like another one," He nodded. That is saying something because they dive into palaces and people's hearts all the time then he added.

"Will you please stop threatening the doctor? She sells us medicine and accessories and I trust her not to tell anyone…"

"I was merely making sure that you don't die."

"Sensei, I'm fine."

Sensei gave him a look that clearly told him that he and Boss had been hanging out too much.

"I am! So, can you please stop threatening to get her license revoked?"

"Ren, I don't threaten…I will get her license revoked."

He sighed.

-P4P5P4-

"I had a visit from your Sensei, my little guinea pig." The doc said as she took his blood pressure.

He blinked for a moment because he was still a little out of it from her latest potion.

"Sensei?"

"I thought that our arrangement was to be kept secret."

"Sen…sei knows…every…thing," He mumbled the words out.

She laughed.

"I'm beginning to see that."

"You…okay?"

She sighed as she finished the reading then went to unwrap his arm.

"He made it clear that you and the others' safety were important. If he even heard a whisper of you or the others in a hospital for a reason or another due to my medicines, he cut off my access to my patient…the little girl. She is alive, you know. My…former employer made sure that I wouldn't have known. I have been visiting her in secret…gathering current data and seeing how she is. He said that I'm walking a dangerous line. I knew that from the beginning but to be called out like that," She said.

"Doc…" He said as he struggled to get up.

She chuckled.

"Rest. Your blood pressure and pulse are within normal, but you might still feel dizzy. He had a point about a few things….rather bluntly."

He nodded. That sounded like Sensei.

"Now…the encounter with the café owner was interesting."

"Boss came here?"

"Oh, no. We had a delightful conversation at the café. While I could do without the third degree, it is nice to see adults keep an eye on you," She said with a small smile.

He would like to be unconscious now.

Just from the embarrassment alone.

-P4P5P4-

"What did you two talk about?" He asked.

"Guilt and possibly her coming to tell you and the others about sex," Sensei said as he took a sip of his coffee.

He almost choked. He was lucky that he wasn't drinking his coffee.

"Sensei!"

"What?"

"We don't…I mean…we…uhh…."

"Ren…I'm not that old. Sojiro and I are very aware of what can go on when you go upstairs with your friends or to the laundromat.

"Sensei!"

He is going to die from embarrassment.

Sensei was silent as he stared at him like he knew everything.

His shoulders sagged as he took off his glasses and sighed.

Maybe, the floor could swallow him.

"And of course, we know what is going on with your teacher…"

Please?

Can he die now?

-P4P5P4-

He groaned as his teacher's hands pressed against his upper back. He was going to lie. Her massages felt so good after going through Mementos.

"So…I had an interesting visitor today," She said.

He lifted his head up a little.

"Oh?" He said.

"Your Sensei…Narumaki-san."

Oh, Shit. Oh, Shit.

"Do you still have a job, right?"

She snorted.

"Barely. Let me go with a little more than a warning. He also asked about your grades as well as Takamaki and Sakamoto. I think that he is really your Sensei."

Ann and Ryuji will probably die from embarrassment once they know about this conversation.

"Yes. He worries about us."

"That would explain the other questions."

"Like?"

He felt her hands leave his back.

"He asked Takamaki to deal with Shiho's departure and is Sakamoto having any trouble with his former teammates," She said softly before she continued on.

"He said that he gets the typical respectable response of fine when he asks. So, he wanted my perspective. He also asked about Mishima, which I pointed out wasn't in my class. Problem is…I don't have an answer to any of his questions."

He felt her get off his back. He looked over at her as she fixed her maid outfit.

"I promised you and myself that I would be a better teacher to everyone. Well, it looks like I'm falling behind on that promise."

As he got out of the bed, she stared at him critically.

"You need to eat more…"

He is going to die…and Sensei is the one who is going to kill him.

-P4P5P4-

"Will you stop it?"

"No."

"Will you stop teaching Togo shogi moves?"

"No."

-P4P5P4-

"I meet your Sensei," Togo said as she moved her rock into position.

He felt himself pause as he picked up his bishop.

"And?" He said.

"He was very nice."

"And?"

"And he taught me some new shogi moves…"

He blinked. He didn't know that Sensei actually played shogi.

"Well…actually, it was chess moves really. He said that he never played shogi but both games require strategy. It was very insightful."

He blinked again. He didn't know that Sensei played chess either.

"It was interesting to see the collation between the two. It helps me think of new moves. Do you want me to show you?"

"Sure?"

"The first move is called knights of the round and…" Togo said excitedly.

He grinned at her excitement. At least, Sensei wasn't trying to kill him.

Until he did….

-P4P5P4-

"Why baseball? Why?"

"Because Oda asked."

"He asked about sports that would be good with his skills. Not baseball."

"I think that it would make a good bonding experience between you two."

"Sensei…he nearly took off my head."

"I take it that he had good aim."

"with a bat."

"Still impressive."

He stared at his Sensei like he lost his mind.

Yes, Sensei has lost his mind.

-P4P5P4-

"So…I want to try something…" Shinya said as he put his gun before moving away from the machine.

He set down the gun and followed suit.

"What is it?"

"Baseball," Shinya said.

"What?" He said surprisedly.

"Your Sensei said that you like to hit balls at the range. Can you take me sometime?"

"Wait…Sensei was here? My Sensei? How did you know that he was my Sensei."

"Yup. The guy is a pro at the crane game. He can get prizes like nothing. We talked. He knew stuff. That is how I knew. He is nice. Weird but nice…like you."

"Thanks?"

Shinya shrugged.

"So…baseball…"

"Sure…"

-P4P5P4-

"And you had fun," Sensei pointed out.

"Okay…a little bit minus all of the ducking," He said.

"You had practice."

"That isn't very funny."

He paused for a moment. There was one social link that didn't talk about Sensei…

"Do you know a fortune teller?"

Sensei smiled a little.

"Yes."

A fact sort of dawned on him.

"Sensei."

"Yes?"

"What did you do?"

"Nothing. We just had a chat."

That is what he was afraid of…He understood that Sensei was trying to protect him. It was sort of nice too but…

"Can you please stop?"

Sensei looked thoughtfully for a moment.

"I will think about it."

He just sighed.

End of the Social Links

A/N: This was probably one of my favorite chapters to write unlike the one that I just finished. As for our favorite fortune teller...well, you see...:D I have also started playing Persona 3: Reload. I like the graphics improvements and some new story elements and little things added here and there. Some of the other voices are spot on while I am not so impressed with some of others. That is all. Read and Review if you wish.
