So been a while since I posted on this story that's both because for this story I've been writing the first drafts of the chapters in notebooks which I usually don't do for fanfics and also I haven't been writing in my notebooks for a while because of some...Business I had to attend to...Anyway it's Friday the 13th and I managed to get through it without a single stroke of bad luck! (I know a lot of people don't believe in that I guess everyone in my family is just a little bit superstitious) so this chapter is to celebrate
Leonardo meanwhile, ever since waking up from hibernation had mostly cloistered himself in his lair, mostly busying himself with the paperwork to get a proper school set up in Forest. That was what he had been doing when Mikey came bursting in
"Leo!" Mikey gasped breathlessly "There's no time to explain! You just gotta see what's on the news right now!"
Mikey grabbed the remote and turned on the TVs just as the news report was coming on
"...And a horrible hate crime was fortunately prevented by two Good Samaritans!" Said the news reporter "Viktor Von Kaiser's adopted daughter Bacon Bit was being chased by three men dressed as hunters!"
Leo gasped horrified "What the shell?!" He exclaimed as the news showed Darlene's footage of the three hunters
"If you or anyone you know has any information about these suspects…" Said the News Reporter "...Than please call this tip line…"
Leo then had to turn off the TVs because he was about to hyperventilate!
"Holy shell…" Leo moaned as he covered his face with his hands "...I thought…By this point we were safe! That humans...Most humans had accepted us!"
"Bro!" Mikey said "China still hasn't accepted us! Remember all the recent mutant refugees from China?"
(Last year there seemed to be a bunch of escaped Mutant Animals created in a Lab in China, a lot of them weren't even species native to China! They had stolen rafts and had made it to Australia most of them were sent to America because they weren't sure Australia could keep them safe from the Chinese Government that would be sending agents to look for them)
Leo sat down on the sofa "What are we going to do?" He asked trembling
"Well…" Mikey said as he rubbed his arm "...Maybe it's time all the Mutants in Forest got a refresher on ninja skills…"
Leo sighed "After what I did...Nearly getting my students killed, I'm not sure they will trust me...I'm not sure I trust myself!"
Mikey bit his lip he could see Leo was still afraid...How could he get his brother to find his Ninja Spirit again?
So listening to the analysis of the 2003 TMNT show on the Podcast Story Science with DJ Finley, Finley points out that it's implied in the 2003 show Mikey is Leo's favorite and Don is Raph's favorite and kind of shows my lack of social awareness in that I never noticed that but now that's it's been pointed out I see it when rewatching the episodes
