"We are prisoners of Amy Rose" Surge says confidently to Kit as they are walked throughout the restoration. Amy walks them through to a place, a bunk looking place.
"It appears to me that we have similar goals" Amy says
"Killing Sonic?" Surge happily asks.
"Stopping Eggman" Amy corrects.
Surge huffs in indifference while Kit holds in a chuckle.
"So I decided that everyone deserves to be redeemed so how would you like to work for the restoration?"
"Do we have to deal with the big blue prick stick in the mud?"
"I assume you mean Sonic, and no, he doesn't come around that often.
"You work with him?" Surge says her demeanor change to anger.
"Only really for Eggman, so don't worry, you'll be fine, he won't come out and now that you've surrendered to me nobody will come after you! How does that sound?"
"Better than what we had, right Kit?" Kit nods even though he doesn't agree.
"Great, these will be your bunks!" She points to the two beds that Kit will admit looks better than the beds they had at home. "If you need anything, call me, I will be supervising you two for the first few days, but other than that, you'll be good!" Amy says
"You can supervise as much as you want!" Surge says, Amy smiles at the comment then leaves. Surge immediately hopps into her bed. Kit goes to his bed a bit less cheerfully.
"Are you sure about this?" Kit asks.
"Yeah, I'm sure" Surge replies and Kit can't believe what he's hearing. The two relax in their beds then go to sleep.
After they get ready for the next day, Amy knocks on their door. They answer. She looks nervous.
"You two don't mind if Tails comes with us, right?" Amy asks
"Who?" Surge asks
"Sonic's sidekick." Kit says.
"Oh… Well I have nothing against him specially, so sure" Surge says and Kit can't believe what he's hearing.
"Oh, okay, great! Because he's already here" Amy moves out the way to show Tails, who awkwardly waves at the two, then puts a hand out to Surge. Who, surprisingly smiles but slaps his hand for a high-five instead of shaking his hand. Then goes with Amy to discuss the mission. Tails looks confused then turns to Kit
"Kit! Um, hi?" Kit walks past him without a single word. Tails hangs his head down and follows him and Amy and Surge.
As the three approach the place, Surge says how she's going to beat up. Amy laughs at it, which weirdly makes Surge feel good, she even turns a bit pink again. Tails and Kit follow behind the two, Tails attempts to talk, all while Kit ignores his attempts at conversation.
Amy eventually puts her hand out to stop Surge. Who, again, blushes at her defense. Then Amy pulls her down. Kit goes next to Surge and Tails follows him and goes next to him. The four look over at the battlefield. They see a lot of enemy Badniks. Surge smiles. While Amy attempts to form a plan, Surge gets up without her noticing and goes down to the battlefield.
"Alright Surge… Surge?" Amy questions and looks around
"She's down there." Kit says Amy's and Tails' eyes go wide. Tails didn't notice because he was so focused on Kit.
"Surge!" Amy says, Surge turns to face her while wrecking some Badniks.
"What?" Surge says and turns to Amy, before getting hit in the face by a badnik. Then worried for her, Amy gets up and runs down and hits the badnik that hurt Surge while she recovers. Kit and Tails also head down.
"Surge, what are you doing?"
"Beating the Doctors' stupid robots, duh?"
Amy gives her a confused look
"Look there's more!" Surge says and chases after them and Amy hastily follows her, as they proceed to beat up more robots.
Tails looks at his Miles Electric to study the pattern. Kit looks around, sees a body of water and immediately approaches it and takes up it's contents to refill his water pack. Tails looks up to see Kit doing this, but immediately looks away after Kit turns around. Kit notices this, and then goes to follow Surge and Amy, Tails notices this and follows after him.
Meanwhile, Surge and Amy continue to beat Badniks. Kit comes to assist in cleanup left behind by Surge. Amy thinks that's how they were designed, not knowing that how Surge does things and how Kit has to do this because of her. Amy continues trying to make Surge not drop directly into battle. Surge continues to move and destroys the robots.
Eventually they find the source, Metal Sonic. Again, the four go behind a hill. Amy attempts to tell Surge to stay. But while she's trying to explain it, Surge, again, gets up without noticing and leaves. Charging for the robot. Kit follows her who is followed by Tails. Only when Amy is done giving her speech, she notices that everyone is gone.
Metal wasn't expecting much again. He definitely wasn't expecting Surge and Kit and Tails and Amy all coming for him and him attempting to fight all of them off of him. Surge's electric was damaging to him especially with Kit's water but that ended up not being his downfall. That ended up being Amy's hammer, which whacked him so hard that he was utterly dismantled by it.
"Wow, that was great!" Surge compliments Amy, who gives her a death stare which Surge doesn't notice
"What are you three thinking? Running out into a battle like that?" Amy says, frustrated. Surge looks confused, while Tails looks nervous and Kit doesn't care and honestly he's had enough of it.
"Who cares, we still beat the robot." He says, uncharacteristically. Surge and Tails look shocked at him. While all this does is make Amy angry at him. She turns to him, with the need for blood in her eyes.
"ARE YOU-" Amy begins to rant at him, which Kit doesn't care about. All while Surge and Tails stand behind the two, looking extremely concerned.
"Is she usually like this?" Surge asks
"Whenever people don't follow her directions." Tails says.
"I guess I should listen to her now… even if she does look hot like this" Surge says and Tails gives her a weird look before returning to watching Amy yell at Kit. Then Amy takes Kit by the scruff and begins to carry him. She carries him all the way back to the restoration with Surge and Tails following behind.
"Okay, it's obvious this won't work, so, I've come up with a solution!" Amy cheerfully says, while Tails looks nervous, Surge looks happy, and Kit still doesn't care.
"Kit and Tails will stay here and handle more bureaucratic things while Me and Surge will go out in battle because it's obvious that Kit is a bad influence on Surge and they should be separated to make sure nothing bad happens, does that sound fine to you two?" Surge nods her head, while Kit's eyes go wide and immediately he latches onto Surge.
"Oh, c'mon Kit, this could be good!" Kit still can't believe what he's hearing, but doesn't refuse Surge. So he lets go, but not happily. Amy smiles.
"Alright, see you then!" Amy leaves and so does Tails. Surge waves him goodbye while Kit doesn't.
