Body throbbing in pain, eyes heavy as he tried to open them. And his ears twitch as he hears some sort of noise. something slashing too hard metal. How long has it been since he's been awake? How long has it been since he saw the blue sky instead of the cold hard metal that has been surrounding him for the last 15 years?

It was one of his more lucid moments. One of the few moments that he could actually fight the drug Eggman has been pumping into his blood. He clenched his teeth in anger and pain. His body sore from lack of movement. Anger for letting Eggman and his general jackal getting the best of him and shame for how he knows who that jackal is. Shame of how he failed Alice

Finally, he was able to open his eyes. The red eyes flicker around, finding himself in a familiar pod. Growls erupted from his throat but before he could even try to pull himself free from the metal shackles keeping him lock when the door sparks, opening it up.

"Told you there was nothing to worry about," Manic, his brother-in-law says with a smirk, clicking his orange fanny pack around his waist. "I had many years of practice during the First War," the smile drops from his face when he caught sight of him, "Shit Shadow," he whispers before turning to Thaila who looks at him with concern, "It's your time to shine kid,"

Thaila nods her head, taking deep breaths as she spreads her arms. Glowing sparkles of nanites dance off her fingertips before floating off as she waves her hand, slowly wrapping around the pod. Sparks of electricity dance off the pod before with a spark it cracks open,

Shadow grunts as the shackles open up, his legs weak from lack of use for who knows how long couldn't hold him up. Thankfully Manic was quick and grabs him before he could kiss the ground, "Man Shadow," Manic chuckles, steadying the other, "You don't know how good it is to see you…"

Shadow, legs trembling, looks up, his three red eyes glaring at him slightly, "W-where," he croaks out, coughing as his throat throbbed in pain, "Is Sonic?"

Manic winces, "He got captured a few days after you went missing," he winces at the hiss coming from shadow, the alien-hybrid's arrow tip tail twitching in anger, "But he's around on the Death Egg just as you,"

"The Death Egg?" Shadow asks as slowly, now out of the pod, his self regeneration slowly begins to heal him. Second by second his strength began to return to him, he stretches out his body, a crack being heard making Thaila stick out her tongue in disgust, "How many times will we have to teach that old man until he stops rebuilding the thing,"

"Who knows," Manic replies with a chuckle, keeping his blue eyes on Shadow in case he falls again.

Shadow shakes his head, "Do you know where he's being held?"

Thaila shakes her head, "While Eggman is gone, Stone is keeping the system up to check…" she shivers, "I tried hacking deeper into the system and the stuff I saw…it almost made me crash…" she sticks out her tongue again, "The maid outfit,"

"I don't need to know what the Doctor and his boyfriend get up to," Shadow grumbles, his eye twitching, "I guess we keep going in the most suspicious looking direction, I'm sure we can find where they're holding Sonic,"

"Oh talk about irresponsible," Thaila sighs but hands Shadow a transceiver to put in his ear while Manic grins. Shadow's eyes narrow before he runs, leaving a golden blur behind him. Cameras tried to spot him but he was too fast for them to catch.

"As Sonic would say, piece of cake," he mutters to himself as he leaps up, spin dashing into a row of patrolling Buzz Bombers in the back before they could spot him. His eyes then spotted a heavily guarded door and he smirks. Raising a hand up, yellow energy builds up "Chaos Spear!" he throws the spear into the Swatbot's side while his other hand, claws sharp, slashes at the neck of the other.

Snorting in amusement he grips the edge of the door and forces it to open. Ignoring how alarms blare loudly he walks into the cell, stopping with wide eyes at the sight before him, "Sonic,"

His husband, his mate, looks up. Both of them grew up in the years since their first meeting all those years ago. As he aged Shadow's more Black Arms DNA grew. Red spots speckle on his hands, the tips of the fingers slowly turning into claws that he could no longer wear gloves. A third eye had grown in the middle of his forehead. His tail had grew longer, an arrowhead tip on the end.

Sonic though had definitely changed over the years, especially after the Dark Gaia incident. While the Ancient had taken the part of power that Sonic absorbed when he was first prematurely released, a little bit of it was left in the High Prince of Mobius. Over the ears that power grew and along with it, Sonic's body had changed. His blue fur became darker while the tips of his quills became a pale blue. He grew out his bangs, having cut them during the First Great War. He also regained the power to stretch out his arms which Sonic had to admit had saved his life many times.

But now Shadow was staring at Sonic with horror in his eyes as the blue hedgehog looks up, his right eye pale and foggy with small scars around the edge of his eye. His left ear twitches, a v-shape tear in it…but Shadow was staring at his right leg…or his lack of one. There was no blood or infection, "Thank the Ancients," Shadow though as he runs in kneeling by his side, running one hand through his quills while the other takes the holographic cuffs off, "Nicolas," he whispers his mate's true name, only calling him that when alone..when Sonic didn't have to be a Hero.

Sonic groans a bit but smiles looking up at him, "Hey Shadow," he coughs smiling a bit, "What took so long…couldn't find your roller skates?"

"Their air shoes faker," but he smiles, gently picking him up, cradling him in his arms, "And I am going to kill Ivo,"

"Ah don't be mad," Sonic chuckles, "The eye and the leg…isn't his fault…" he curls closer to Shadow, placing his head on his chest, his ear twitching at the sound of his heartbeat, "The eye happen when that…General of his slam me into some broken glass…the leg…Metal didn't take well when I tried to escape..Eggbutt was…kind enough to heal me up.."

"Probably because he wants you in one piece when he takes over Nicolas," Shadow scolds him but spins on his heel, planning on going back to Manic and Thaila when slow claps sounded.

Growling, ears pinned as he grips Sonic closer to him he glares at Stone. The human had light brown and wearing a blue coat sporting two square metal buttons on both sides of the chest in silver. These buttons have white straps that run across the coat's sides to identical buttons on the back. The cuffs of the sleeve were a bright yellow. He was wearing black fingerless gloves, matching his pants., "This is the end for you….Sonic, Shadow"

"Oh hey Stone," Sonic waves his hand a smile on his face before the base began to rumble, "Sounds like the part started. Wanna let me go and join in?" he sighs when Shadow gives him a look, "No? Of course not..you and Shadow hate fun,"

"You are missing a leg Sonic," Shadow reminded him but gets into a stance when Stone chuckles, baring his fangs in anger and rage. Another shake was heard, alarms blare even more as the room was soon colored in red.

"Foolish Hedgehog," Stone sneers, "You two getting out of your cells does not make you free as you think! Now come and face the inevitable!" rising from the abyss of shadows below the holding cells rose a colossal bee-base robot, resembling a Buzz Bomber. Its four red eyes glare down on the two Hedgehogs as Stone laughs, climbing on top of its head.

"The only thing inevitable is my husband kicking your butt!" Sonic taunts and Shadow shakes his head as he dodges an attack from a diving Buzz Bomber.

" I can't wait to see how long you last against this!" Stone said but then ducks down from a burst of flame.

Thaila blows at the end of her Wispon, smoke trailing from end of it. Her eyes narrow as Manic leaps off the railing, trying to kick the human in the face, "Why don't you actually come out and face us yourself? We'll mop you up real quick!"

"Impudent program!" Stone types into the large badnik and it gives out a scratch, firing lasers at Thaila. With grace of a dance, Thaila jumps off, forming platforms with her nanites and easily dodging. Landing beside the others Shadow could see that her eyes widen at the sight of Sonic but Shadow shakes his head, placing Sonic into his brother's arms.

"Keep an eye on him," His tail lashes before he disappears with a blink of an eye, reappearing as the Buzz Bombers miss hitting him but instead running into each other and exploding on impact. A large shadow flew over him and he jumps out of the way as the Death Queen pierced the platform with its stinger. Taking the chance, Shadow charges forward into a Spin-Dash tearing the robot easily apart and sending Stone flying. The human lands on his back, wheezing in pain as the air was knocked out of his lungs.

"Uncle Shadow" he turns his head a bit seeing that Thaila and Manic were now in front of an open door. Sighing a bit he leaps over, grabbing the railing and pulls himself up. He takes Sonic back into his arms, Manic nodding at him before all three ran down the hallway.

The alarms were louder now, "Guess they found out we escaped," Sonic smirks a bit, "Glad to be kissing this yawnfest goodbye. No way am I sticking around here, there's nothing to run on!"

"Now is not the time for your jokes faker!" Shadow states following the other two towards the hanger bay. His eyes widen seeing so many fighting against the robots, using Wispons while freeing the Wisps that Eggman had in capsules to use their powers to power up his inventions. A pink hedgehog with the same green eyes as Sonic but with a brown tuft of her on her head picking up a swat bot and smashing it into another Swat Bot.

Panting she looks up, eyes lighting up seeing the four, "All members of the Resistance get back onto the Shuttle! They've found Sonic and Shadow!" cheers erupted at that slowly going back to the large shuttle. The pink Hedgehog ran over, tears in her eyes, "Nicolas Maurice Karides I can not believe you!" her eyes flicker to his missing leg and the tears begin to stream down her face, I'm…you are not leaving my sight for a year! You hear me!" her arms tremble like she was holding back the urge to wrap them around his neck.

"Sorry Sonia…" Sonic smiles as they all went up the ramp to the shuttle, "Next time I'll be more careful,"

Shadow sighs but then blinks when he feels a twinge of fear. "Why do I feel fear? We're safe now there's" he blinks more when he realizes it wasn't coming from him but some sort of link…bond? He grits his teeth…could a Black Arms have formed while he was captured…his brother Eclipse could have made some more using his time of being locked…he shakes his head, placing Sonic on a medical table ignoring how his mate complained about it. No…this was different...this didn't feel like anything he felt when he was connected to the Black Arms..it felt warm..it felt…

"Shadow?" Sonic looks up at him as Cream looked over him, "Everything alright?"

Shadow takes a deep breath and nods his head, "Yes Nicky," he smirks at the flush that grew on Sonic's face, "Everything is ok…"

Izumi's eyes were narrow on the cobra, her arms slowly wrapping around the little jackal pup before lifting her up and placing her left arm under her, "Don't worry…I'm not going anywhere," the gears in Izumi's head were spinning, trying to think of what to do. While she had been trained by Starline, the only real experience she has was beating up robots..and she really didn't want to think back to her first fight against Infinite….she blinks when Melody walks forward, her hand pulling out her sword.

Izumi jumps when Alice places her hand on Izumi's shoulder that was occupied by Kitt, smiling softly at her as the cat pounces on the Cobra Mobian. The villain tries to grab at her face but he hisses, in pain as blue flames with the edges white dances along her fur.

"I know that you won't be able to hold that long.." he hisses as his eyes narrow in a sneer, "All diseases have a limit…once your flames go out," he ducks down from a swing of her sword, "I will be teaching Eri what happens when she tries to run from me. Only I can use her dreadful curse!"

The little pup flinches in Izumi's arms and Izumi couldn't help but growl. Kitt growls too and Izumi had to give him a bit of a look when she saw his eyes glowing purple. Kitt frowns but sighs relaxing on her shoulder, his tail twitching.

A cries rang out, blood splattering the walls and the Cobra holds his wrist where his hand use to be, "What kind of Hero are you?! You just cut off my…" he cries out more when ice began to cover his legs.

"We're Heroes who actually get the job done. Especially in fights when we're fighting to the death," Melody states with a sigh, sheathing her sword. She turns to Alice, "You should head back to the Hospital. Both of them are going to be check over," she nodded at the pup in Izumi's arms and then to the white fur and scarred tiger.

"No…I'm fine.." he grumbles but Melody scoffs, raising an eyebrow.

"You're overheating by the looks of it and your burns look like they haven't even been treated. They are clearly infected," the tiger scowls but Toshinori who had been watching the fight with guilt in his eyes gently grabs his arm in a gentle but firm hold. He growls and tries to pull free but it was clear that he wasn't going to. He was panting, dark shadows underneath his eyes. Melody nods her head at this but turns her gaze to Toshinori, "I'm going to stay here to give my report. Make sure their safe,"

All Might nods his head, "Will do," he gently begins to pulls the tiger and Izumi keeping a hold of Eri while Kitt hung on Izumi's shoulder, Alice following behind them with the hood of her cloak up to hide her echidna features.

Walking back inside the building, a purple Ocelot, looking alot like Doctor Shinso but his hair was flared up in large tufts. His purple eyes with white pupils widen seeing them while the secretary looks over to them, "Oh my…is everything alright?"

"We need these two to be checked over," All Might explains, "A young girl, possibly abused," he grimaces while the secretary growls, the alligator mobian baring her fangs, "And Quirk overuse,"

The secretary nods her head and quickly pages for someone. Izumi holds Eri but her eyes flicker to the ocelot and her tail begins to bristle and she slowly begins to try to hide behind Alice. The boy blinks but frown.

"Don't mind Izumi," he stops when he began to walk away, turning his head over to her when Alice spoke, "She hasn't been around anyone her age since she was eight…and children were not kind to her,"

He winces at that, his mouth dropping to an o, "Oh…your…your the two kids that my dad met today…" he rubs the back of his neck, looking at them awkwardly, "Sorry about that…my mom says I have tunnel vision "The whole no one understands me or what I'm going through'. My Chaos Gift," he tenses up a bit before he takes a deep breath, "My Chaos Gift is called Brainwashing. It has a specific activation and is pretty easy to avoid but people hear the name and think villain. But I have my folks by my side and there are other people out there who face way more than me because of the Chaos Gifts,"

"Chaos Gifts?" Alice says, "I thought everyone here in Yurashia calls them Quirks.

"My mom is from Spagonia in Eurish," he explains as doctors slowly come over. Eri whimpers, holding tightly to Izumi, "It's really only here that their called a Quirk, everyone else knows that their gifts are from Chaos.."

One of the doctors laugh shaking his head, "Ah, to be young and still believing those stories," Izumi flinches at this, looking at the doctor warily. Her memories of her mother were slightly faded, possibly from Starline's Gift messing with her head. But the few that she had was of her mother telling her of the Ancients…of Chaos and the two twins Light and Dark Gaia…and that they gave them their powers so they can protect their love ones…that one day they would figure out why Izumi was slowly dying each time she used hers.

They were led into one of the many rooms, Alice gently speaking to Eri as the girl tried to cling to Izumi more when the doctors. Izumi glares at some of the doctors when they started getting annoyed with how Eri wouldn't let them check her over but Doctor Shinso soon came over and shoo them away.

Izumi watches as they slowly unwrap the bandages around the pup's arms and legs. The room gets slightly colder as they see the scars and fresh cuts on them. Doctor Shinso frowns, muttering as he weighs Eri, writing into notes.

Waves crash onto the shore, a large tower of machinery leans away from a cliff that stood center of the small island, the tubes of wire clinging to the side of the cliff. "So…we were thrown onto Yurashia by Chaos Control…"

Eyes covered by blue tinted glasses narrowed before he stood up, "Orbot! How long will it take for Infinite and Mimic to heal?"

The red orb robot jumps up, looking up from the computer between two tubes, holding the two mobians in question, "About a full year sir..it would be faster for Mimic but ever since Princess Melody destroy two of his three hearts…so his natural regeneration has slowed down greatly, your highness,"

"Damn it," Eggman growls rubbing the bridge of his nose, "Just when I had both the Guardian Heir and the Master Emerald in my grasp. With Infinite out of commission, his illusions are as well and while I don't donut Agent Stone can handle on his own…that Fox Boy and two Programs will be able to find where I hidden those Hedgehogs on the Death Egg…I need the Guardian Heir and the Master Emerald now!"

"Doctor, if I might suggest? There are bounty hunters that help Stone with tracking potential prisoners. Mimic has given him a ist of the best of the best,"

"They've been quite successful, partner!" a yellow cubed shape robot yells out, jumping from behind the glass tubes that he had been tapping.

"Fine…you call them…and fix Cubot's voice chip!" taking a seat he presses a button. Vents open up the side of his tower, allowing white egg-shaped drones with a red camera eye approximately two feet in length emerges from them, "I got to find them…before they cause even more problems for me," he then smirks, "But…I think I can establish the foundation of the Eggman Empire in the Continents here," he laughs as the Drones flew over the ocean.

Eggman laughs as Orbot rummages through a box of voice chips, before he slams his hands onto his ears at the voice that came out of Cubot once the new voice chip, "Not that one! By Dark Gaia, where do you even get a voice chip that sounds like my mother?!"
