"We need to make Skeeter an offer she won't refuse"

"Well then, you're in luck" voiced Harry from the archway

"You got something good?" asked Sirius with a smirk

"Very good"

Harry took a deep breath, his eyes glimmering with a mixture of mischief and determination. "You all know I've dabbled in some ritual magic" he began, his voice carrying a note of seriousness. "After what happened with Peter Pettigrew, I realized the importance of being able to detect animagus spirits near me. I couldn't afford to take another risk like that."

Andromeda's expression softened, understanding the weight of Harry's words. She nodded, her curiosity now tinged with a sense of concern. Sirius, too, leaned forward, his earlier excitement fading as he listened intently.

Harry continued, his tone grave. "I performed a ritual that allowed me to sense animagus spirits in close proximity. It's a dangerous process, Salazar had to do some tweaking around with some other rituals to maintain the balance, but it's worked out in the end"

Andromeda's eyes narrowed, her concern shifting to a deep understanding. She knew all too well the lengths one had to go to protect themselves and their loved ones in times of turmoil. Sirius leaned back, a mix of admiration and apprehension in his eyes. "But with this newfound ability, you sensed another animagus spirit near us. And it wasn't Pettigrew?"

Harry nodded, his expression serious. "That's right. It was Rita Skeeter. She's been operating as an unregistered animagus... That's how she gets all those 'exclusive scoopes'!"

Sirius leaned in, his voice laced with a newfound joy, "You're a bloody miracle worker pup, well done. We've got her!"

Andromeda took a deep breath, her voice steady. "We must proceed with caution, but we cannot let this opportunity slip away. We have the leverage we need to confront Skeeter and bring her under our control."

Harry and Sirius nodded in agreement, their determination unwavering. They knew that their actions would have far-reaching consequences, not only for Rita Skeeter but also for the intricate web of power and influence that governed the wizarding world. The trio exchanged determined glances, knowing that their journey was far from over. They would confront Skeeter, reveal her secret, and set the stage for a new era of journalism.

"So, I'm guessing I'm not the one getting to confront her?" joked Sirius as he tapped Andi on the shoulder

Andromeda met with Rita Skeeter at a discreet location, a small tearoom tucked away in Diagon Alley. As she observed the bustling activity outside, Andromeda couldn't help but feel a sense of anticipation. Rita entered the tearoom, her eyes scanning the room with a self-assured air. Spotting Andromeda, she approached with a hint of curiosity.

"Andromeda Black Tonks," Rita greeted, her tone tinged with surprise. "To what do I owe the pleasure of this meeting?"

Andromeda gestured to the empty chair across from her. "Rita, please, have a seat. We have something important to discuss."

Rita sat down, her curiosity evident in her eyes. "What could be so important that you needed to meet me in person?" she inquired, her voice filled with a mixture of intrigue and caution.

Andromeda leaned forward, her voice steady and determined. "I'll get straight to the point. Rita, we know your secret. We know you're an unregistered animagus."

Rita's eyes widened, a flicker of panic crossing her face before she composed herself. "I have no idea what you're talking about," she replied, attempting to feign innocence.

Andromeda leaned back, a small smile playing on her lips. "Oh, I assure you, Rita, there's nothing ordinary about your abilities. You see, we have a rather clever spell that can reveal someone's true form."

Curiosity mingled with apprehension on Rita's face as she leaned in, unable to resist the temptation of a challenge. "And what spell might that be, Lady Andromeda?"

Andromeda, her voice laced with a touch of ancient authority, leaned back, her eyes glimmering with arcane knowledge. "It's a spell passed down through generations, Rita. A relic of my ancient family, steeped in the traditions of arcane magics."

Rita's confident facade faltered, a flicker of unease crossing her features. Everyone knew of Andromeda's lineage and the formidable powers associated with it. "That's... that's impossible. You wouldn't have access to such magic."

Andromeda's lips curled into a knowing smile. "Rita, Rita, you underestimate the depths of my family's knowledge."

Rita swallowed hard, her mind racing to grasp the implications of her secret being exposed. "What do you want from me?" she asked, her voice tinged with apprehension.

Andromeda leaned in, her gaze unwavering. "We want your cooperation. We have plans to start our own newspaper, and we believe you would be a valuable asset as the Chief Editor."

Rita's eyes widened with a mix of surprise and intrigue. "Why would I agree to such a proposition? What guarantees do I have?"

Andromeda's smile turned slightly cold. "Consider it an opportunity, Rita. We can protect your secret and ensure that your animagus form remains undisclosed. In return, we expect your loyalty and assistance in building a reputable and influential newspaper."

Rita hesitated, her mind grappling with the potential risks and rewards. Aligning herself with the Black family had its pros, but it also meant being at their mercy.

"And if I refuse?" Rita questioned, her voice cautious.

Andromeda's expression hardened. "Then we would have no choice but to expose your secret to the Ministry and the public. The consequences would be severe, both professionally and legally. It's in your best interest to work with us." Andi's voice softened, her tone reassuring. "Rita, we're not interested in destroying you. We believe that your talent as a journalist can be harnessed in a more ethical and responsible manner, while of course, benefitting us "

Rita crossed her arms, her gaze still wary. "Forgive me if I'm skeptical, but how can I be sure you won't turn against me once I've accepted your offer?"

Andromeda maintained her composure, meeting Rita's gaze with a steady resolve. "I understand your concerns, Rita. Let me assure you that if you accept our offer, we will protect your secret. We will also allow you to bring in some of your trusted staff and provide assistance in finding additional skilled individuals to support your vision."

Rita's skepticism wavered slightly, a glimmer of hope in her eyes. "You expect me to believe all of this?"

Andromeda's voice turned more assertive, a hint of a threat underlying her words. "Rita, understand this: if you refuse our offer, we have the means to expose you, and the consequences will be severe. Your reputation, your career, everything you've worked for will be in ruins."

Rita hesitated, weighing her options. After a tense moment Rita's eyes flickered with a mixture of fear and resignation. "I... I don't want my secret exposed. I'll accept your offer."

Andromeda's expression softened, a sense of victory glimmering in her eyes. "Wise choice, Rita. You won't regret it."

Rita's voice quivered slightly as she asked, "And what about this spell you mentioned earlier? The one that reveals someone's true form?"

Andromeda let out a soft chuckle, her tone laced with amusement. "Oh, that was just a bluff, Rita. A little trick to tip the scales in our favor. But I understand why it made you apprehensive. After all, an ancient family like is no stranger to the world of powerful spells." That it was indeed knowledge of such arcane magic, albeit from another ancient wizard's tomes was responsible for her taming was left unsaid.

Rita's eyes widened in realization, a shiver running down her spine. "You... you had me convinced that you possessed such a spell. I couldn't risk it."

Andromeda nodded, her voice gentle but firm. "Indeed, Rita. The fear of exposure can be a powerful motivator, especially when one's secrets hold the potential for ruin. Rest assured, we would never toy with your future in such a way. We value your talents and the opportunity both you and I have."

Rita swallowed hard, a mixture of relief and lingering unease coursing through her. "Very well, Andromeda. But I want a raise!"

Andromeda replied instantly "Granted"

"And" the journalist continued, finger raised "An exclusive with your golden boy, AND I get to continue writing for Witches Weekly"

Again, the response was instant "Granted... Also, we're buying Witches Weekly"

The Daily Prophet correspondent leaned back with a smirk "Well well well, someone clearly knows gossip generates galleons"

Andromeda glanced at Rita, a hint of seriousness in her eyes. "It's to get capture the younger demographic, but that's irrelevant. Rita, I must emphasize one crucial point. While the government may have offered protection to the Daily Prophet in the past, they do not extend the same shield to other journalists or publications. You will no longer have that umbrella of safety for your work."

Rita's voiced in her familiar sass "Oh don't you worry about that, ma'am. I know just where the line is drawn" she smirked "So I'm guessing this new paper will be favoring a certain Hogwarts student in particular?"

"Not too obviously" Andromeda leaned in "But, yes. Apart from that, we're going to report like a regular daily, preferably a credible one... Alright, here's the rub. We're not revealing who the true owners are right away. For now, we're appointing someone non-controversial Benedict Greengrass knows as a figurehead. Very few people will know who the real owners are. Also, we'd rather not that you join publicly right away to avoid suspicion. What you'll do is resign, saying you want to retire, enjoy retired life in MACUSA before finding your spark back because of all the great work this new paper has been doing."

Skeeter smiled knowingly "But really, you want me to start working secretly right away"

Andi nodded appreciatively "Glad we understand each other. Now, since you'll need to be seen every now and then, so you really have to go to MACUSA for a while"

"Look" began Rita apprehensively "I know I wear all fancy clothes and jewelery, but I don't really have too much saving, it's all a house of cards. I can't go on holiday for months"

"Oh I wouldn't worry about that" Andi smiled mischievously "You see, the contract we'll offer you may or not have a sweet downside guarantee clause" she added casually while pretending to inspect her nails

"Oh, I like my new job already"

|Black Manor|12, Grimmauld Place| December 25th, 1993|

The grand, tapestry-lined halls of 12 Grimmauld Place, the ancestral home of the Black family, now transformed into a warm and inviting haven for Christmas. The house is adorned with wreaths, garlands, and flickering candles that lend a magical ambiance to the atmosphere. Harry, Sirius, Andromeda Tonks, Ted Tonks, and Nymphadora gather in the drawing-room, surrounded by cherished family heirlooms, for a memorable Christmas celebration.

Harry couldn't believe his eyes as he took in the sight before him. The grandeur of 12 Grimmauld Place had been transformed into a haven of warmth and love, something he had only dreamed of. It was his first Christmas in a home where he truly felt he belonged. The drawing-room was adorned with twinkling lights and garlands, casting a soft glow across the room. A towering Christmas tree, decked out with enchanting ornaments, stood proudly in the corner. The crackling fire in the imposing hearth brought both comfort and cheer.

As Harry moved from one enchanting decoration to another, he couldn't help but contrast this magical scene with the bleakness of his life at Privet Drive. The Dursleys' meager attempts at celebrating Christmas paled in comparison to the love and effort evident in every corner of Grimmauld Place.

Nymphadora, wearing a festive holiday sweater with green hair, approached Harry with a knowing grin. "Morning, kid!" she exclaimed, playfully ruffling his hair. "So how're you liking yourself a Tonks Christmas?"

Harry's eyes lit up, and a genuine smile spread across his face. "It's amazing," he replied, his voice filled with joy. "I never thought I'd get to experience something like this. I'm grateful for all of you."

Nymphadora nudged him playfully. "Oh, come on, don't get all mushy on me!" she teased. "We've got presents to open!" she exclaimed as they were joined by the rest of Grimmauld Place's residents.

Ted, holding a tray of hot cocoa, raised his mug high. "A toast," he declared, his voice filled with warmth and love. "To Harry, the newest member of our family. Today, we celebrate not just the magic of Christmas, but also the miracle of finding each other and creating a home filled with love and acceptance."

They all raised their mugs, their eyes shining with appreciation and affection. "To Harry," they chorused, their voices resonating with heartfelt sincerity. The clinking of mugs echoed through the room, a resounding symbol of their unity and the bonds that had formed.

As the festive atmosphere continued to envelop the room, Ted raised his glass high, capturing everyone's attention, and began again "AND, to the triumphant return of Sirius Black, the Marauder who announced his return with a prank on our entire criminal justice system!" he laughed heartily, joined by others.

Andi, her eyes gleaming with joy, placed a hand on Harry's shoulder. "Harry" she began, her voice filled with genuine affection, "I may not have known you for long, but in the short time we've spent together, you've become more than just a guest in our home. You've become like a son to me."

Harry's heart swelled with warmth at Andi's words. It was as if a missing piece of his life had been found, and it filled him with an indescribable sense of belonging. He looked into Ted's eyes, his gratitude shining through. "Thank you... with you I've found the mother that was always missing in my life, and I'm glad we got to know each other" Harry replied softly, his voice filled with genuine emotion.

Andi's smile widened. "You've brought a light into our lives, and we're grateful for the chance to be a part of yours. Today, as we gather together, let's forget about business, worries, and anything that pulls us apart. Let's focus on the joy of being together and the love that binds us as a family."

Harry nodded, a genuine smile gracing his lips. He looked around at the others, feeling the warmth of their presence and the love that surrounded him. The room seemed to glow with the spirit of Christmas, and he couldn't help but feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude for the family he had found.

As gifts were exchanged, laughter filled the room. Nymphadora handed Harry a carefully wrapped package, her eyes gleaming mischievously. "Open it, brother!" she exclaimed, nudging him playfully.

Curiosity piqued, Harry unwrapped the gift to reveal a shiny new broom servicing kit. His eyes widened in delight. "Wow, Dora! This is amazing! Thank you!"

The metamorph grinned, her hair turning a vibrant shade of purple. "Thought it'd come in handy for your Quidditch adventures. Plus, I'll finally stop nagging you to take care of that broom of yours."

Laughter erupted as Harry playfully nudged her back. The room was filled with the joyous banter and playful interactions that only siblings shared.

Following their time together in the summer and at Hogwarts, Harry finally felt comfortable enough with himself to admit that. Realizing the progress he'd made with himself, and finally feeling secure about admitting his affection, not just for Dora, but for everyone, he smiled to himself... This was growth.

"You know, Harry," Sirius began, his voice filled with warmth, all of the problems awaiting them in the future forgotten for the moment "I don't think if ever said this out loud, but I think it needs to be said. You, son, are truly extraordinary. You were left to fend for yourself in a childhood that would have left most timid, bitter and hateful. Yet here you are, easily the bravest person I ever know, full of love for those you consider dear, and an unparalleled compassion. You put yourself through harsh trials in the name of 'training', but that has not soured your shining spirit, if anything it has made it glow brighter, your sense of justice having the means to help those in need for absolutely nothing in return... It's hard to believe that just a few months ago, we were strangers. And now..."

Harry nodded, a contented smile playing at the corners of his lips. "Yeah, it's amazing how life can bring people together in unexpected ways"

The marauder let out a laugh "Well, I suppose living in the secret depths of Hogwarts tends to bring people closer, doesn't it? But it's more than that, Harry. It's the shared moments, the conversations, the laughter. You, Harry, have filled a void in my life that I didn't even realize was there. You've given me purpose, a reason to fight. For so long, I felt lost and alone, but now I have someone worth fighting for. "

Sirius watched Harry's eyes widen with astonishment as he handed him a wrapped package. "Happy Christmas, Harry," he said, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "I heard about your broom getting destroyed earlier this year. Don't worry, I've put a charm on this one to make it fire-resistant!"

Harry couldn't help but chuckle at the playful jab, his heart swelling with gratitude. He eagerly tore open the wrapping, revealing a brand new Firebolt. The room fell silent as everyone's eyes fixed on the gleaming broomstick in Harry's hands.

"Sirius, I... I can't believe it," Harry stammered, his voice filled with amazement. "A Firebolt... it's incredible!"

Sirius grinned, a twinkle of mischief in his eyes. "Only the best for my godson" the animagus remarked as his expression turned serious and he placed a hand on Harry's shoulder. "Harry, I want you to know that I'm here now. I know I missed a lot of your life, and I can never truly make up for that. But I promise you this: I will do everything in my power to be the family you deserve. I've made mistakes, and I've paid a heavy price, but I won't let that stop me from being there for you. James, your father, entrusted me with the most precious thing in his life, and I vowed to look after him on his behalf, a promise I intend to keep. failed him in the past. But I won't fail him now... I won't fail you now"

Harry's eyes glistened with tears as he looked into Sirius's earnest gaze. The weight of those words resonated deep within his heart. He had yearned for a family, for the love and connection he had been denied for so long. And now, in this moment, he felt that bond between himself and Sirius, and between himself and the Tonks.

"Sirius," Harry whispered, his voice filled with emotion. "I believe you. I believe IN you, all of you. And I know my parents would be proud to see us together, to see you keeping the promise you made to them. The truth is... you've become such a huge part of my life that I can't imagine it without you now. Whatever's happened is in the past and not my concern anymore. All I know is that from now on, I hope we're always together"

Then, as if willed by an unstoppable force, Harry rammed himself into Sirius.

In that tender embrace, surrounded by the warmth and love of his newfound family, Harry felt a newfound vigor. The pain of the past slowly faded away, replaced by the promise of a brighter future and the knowledge that he was no longer alone. This Christmas would forever be etched in his memory as a turning point in his life—a celebration of love, forgiveness, and the redemption of lost time.

And that's a wrap, see you all next time!
