Chapter 1: A very confusing awakening

All Tanjirou felt when he opened his eyes slightly for the first time, was a slight throbbing pain in his head that pierced him from various places in his mind, specially in the right side, something that seemed quite strange considering how hard his head was and how much he used it during his fights against the demons. Still, it was the only thing he could process for a while due to the daze, until the passing of minutes finally allowed him to regain his full consciousness and sit down to check the status of his own body.

"it seems I'm really alive..." he thought with a mix of emotions of happiness, excitement, guilt and sadness as he completely felt his breathing of total concentration and slight pangs throughout his body, although much less than he really expected.

Even though in his supposed last moments of life, Tanjirou had accepted with a smile, whatever destiny the Kamis decided on him, he had to admit that a part of him wanted that day to be the last of his life. With the death of his butterfly and the end of the war against the demons, he felt that his life had lost any meaning, he could no longer, or rather DIDN'T WANT to marry or start a family with another woman that isn't his deceased fiancée, what's more, the fact of even thinking about touching another woman in a romantic way caused great repulsion in the Kamado.

So what could he do now??...The selfish thought only made his guilt increase at not being able to completely happily accept the beautiful gift of seeing life after the war and enjoying his last years of life with Nezuko, especially those who died in the infinite castle or at the hands of Muzan himself would have accepted this opportunity to live with open arms while he could only slightly resignedly accept his fate.

That thought led him to remember the crows that infiltrated the Infinite Castle, risking their lives to coordinate the assault as best as possible, and reporting the deaths of all the Demon Slayers, regardless of their rank. On the one hand, Tanjirou was very grateful for the gesture, those people deserve the greatest recognition possible for having selflessly given their lives to finish off the Demons. On the other hand, he wanted to forget each and every one of those names that he would remember for the rest of his life.

"The mist Hashira,Muichiro Tokito, has died by the first Upper Moon!!"

Tears began to pool at the sides of his ruby eyes as he remembered with deep sadness the promise he made with Muichiro about killing Muzan together. Failing him and his promise will be one of the greatest dishonors he will have to bear on his conscience. Other memories, once joyful and now melancholic, about the various afternoons of games and tea sessions he had with the pillar also appeared in his mind as he thought of his youngest friend. Very rarely could he see him so happy and carefree, when they forgot about their obligations and simply enjoyed their time together as normal teenagers, instead of swordsmen who fought day by day for their own lives and those of people in danger. Tanjirou always admired him enormously for his will and talent when it came to fighting, in addition to having helped him a lot with his training, his Hashira rank owed a lot to him, as well as to Shinobu.

"The demon slayer,Genya Shinazugawua, has died by the first Upper Moon!!"

"Why is fate so cruel to the people who most deserve some happiness?" the redhead thought bitterly at the cruel fate of the black-haired man.

The memory of Genya was also something quite painful for him, they may not have met in the best places he ended up in the final selection, But fate brought them both together on one of the most risky missions any Demon Slayer would ever undertake. During the fight against the fifth and fourth upper moon, Genya was able to put aside his most hostile attitude towards Tanjirou and the others to face againts the demons, and after the victory,Tankirou could meet a great, gentle and hard-working person, willing to fight and risk his life without hesitation despite not being able to use a breathing in order to save people and help his older brother, even if he himself "despised" him.

Tanjirou deduced Sanemi's secret thanks to his sense of smell and the talks he had with Genya about their past. It was in one of those conversations where the redhead shared his hypothesis with the youngest Shinazugawa, telling him that the possible reason for his brother's hostile attitude could be because of his desire to keep him away from him to protect him from demons and so that his little brother could live his own life in peace. This only made his effort and dedication to training increase enormously to become stronger and fight alongside his older brother, to which the redhead obviously agreed, and even helped in everything he could to improve, to the point of trying to teach him some forms of Sun Breathing so that he could create a variant.

Even though Tanjirou also lost important people, he couldn't imagine the pain his partner must be feeling at not being able to achieve his goal.

"I very much hope he can move on" he thought with great sadness, but who was he kidding? He was sure that he would be equally or more devastated by the loss than the redhead himself.

"The insect Hashira,Shinobu Kocho, has died the by second Upper Moon"

"KANROJI!!"A voice exclaimed in a clear horrified tone.

"SHINAZUGAWA!!"said another voice with concern.

The memories of the battle continued to pile up in his mind, much to the dismay of the poor redhead, who tried to hold back the tears that were already starting to fall down his cheeks. His body trembled slightly while his hands were clenched tightly in the sheets of the bed and his breathing was slightly agitated.

He wished he could be optimistic about the health of his surviving companions but the images of the wounds only altered and slowly destroyed his hope"N-no, I CAN'T be the only survivor, it can't be... right??"

"Then it is likely that Shinazugawa has also fallen...We are the only ones left!!"

"THE DAWN HAS COME!! THE DAWN HAS COME!!STOP KIBUTSUJI AT ALL COSTS!!"

"we are unable to do anything to him on our own, but you are one of the few who can seriously harm Muzan, without the Hashiras, we cannot afford to lose you."

"Iguro and Kanroji have fallen in combat!!"

"Gompanchiro you are the strongest of us all, we need you more than ever"

"TANJIROU!!"

"NO!!"The Kamado shouted with all his might, finally breaking that circle of self-destructive thoughts that kept piling up in his mind. He used total concentration breathing to regulate his very high pulse and stop shaking as he wiped away the tears that ran down his cheeks, in addition to using enhanced breathing to reduce his headache and get energy to suppress all those horrible memories and negative feelings that he didn't want to see in the farthest corner of his mind. Tanjirou knew perfectly well that this was not healthy for his mental health, but it was not the time to shed tears, now his priority was to know how his friends were and find out how they were, whether alive or dead, then he could cry as much as he wanted over the loss of his loved ones.

"Nezuko would probably kill him if she saw what I'm thinking" the redhead thought with a sad smile.

The loud sound of the door alerted Tanjirou to the presence of an intruder, who quickly threw himself out of bed, accidentally tearing off the cables he was connected to and just noticed it by the slight pricks he felt all over his body. Seeing who the people who entered were, he relaxed knowing that they were just some Kakushis, or so he believed, since they were not wearing the usual black uniform, but rather they were wearing strange green gowns along with blue masks on their mouths and gloves of the same color, confusing the hashira by the sudden change of clothing, The doctors, who received a warning about the Kamado's unstable pulse, were reassured to see the good condition of their patient,to the point of even getting up and moving without problems, simply bowed and apologized for the intrusion as they left the room.

It was at that moment that Tanjirou was finally able to stop thinking about the last mission and focus his attention on where he was, being quite surprised by the result. Instead of being in one of the common rooms of the butterfly mansion,he was a room, to say the least, weird. He was in a small room, assuming it was private seeing as it only had a bed, with several strange machines and gadgets that he never remembered seeing when Shinobu or Aoi healed him before. Some were curious to him, like a strange band connected to a machine, and others very annoying, like that strange device that only made a constant beeping noise and seemed to have been connected to his body by the cables he accidentally ripped off before. He also noticed a few bandages wrapped around him, the product of battle wounds, although they were much smaller than the Kamado thought, although again, he was feeling much better than he would have expected.

As he continued to check his room, he could see a very simple decoration, composed of curtains, cabinets and chairs, in fact on one of the chairs, he could finally see his Demon Slayer uniform as well as his haori and Nichirin. When checking the state of the clothes, he could see that his uniform did not seem very worn, the golden buttons on the jacket seemed in perfect condition and except for some not very large cuts and holes, along with traces of blood from the deep wounds he suffered in combat, he did not see anything relevant. Fortunately, it was something that he himself or some kakushi could repair, it would have made him very sad if his Hashira uniform had been irreparably damaged, especially since he had been wearing it for less than a week.

"At least I would have the old uniform" he muttered as he thought of the same suit, but with white buttons that he used for many years.

His nichirin also seemed to be in pretty good shape, with no cracks and a few spatters of blood, thanking his luck greatly since he won't suffer the wrath of a certain muscular blacksmith with long black hair. His green haori with black checks, on the other hand, was in very bad condition. It was barely more than a handkerchief-sized cloth with several claw marks and a lot of blood on it, he decided to save it and repair it to use temporarily until he sews a new one by hand. He carefully checked the pockets of his pants, taking out a small brown envelope wrapped in a red cloth.

He sighed in relief after quickly checking that the content was in perfect condition. There were photos he had taken over the years during his missions, from a photo with Nezuko and Urokodaki, when he completed the final selection, others with him and his sister alone, some with Zenitsu and Inosuke during some trips, others with the triplets and Kanao when he was recovering, another with him and all the girls from the Butterfly Mansion, one with the kids from the red light district when he was still disguised as a woman, some in the blacksmith village with Mitsuri and Nezuko and others with Genya, Muichiro and the blacksmiths, after finishing that mission against Gyokko and Hantengu, others with each of the Hashiras when he completed each of their training, except for Iguro and Sanemi, until his photos when he was named an official Hashira, first him alone with his new uniform and then a group photo of the other Hashiras, with Shinobu to his left and Muichiro to his right. right while the rest remained behind the 3, with Obanai at one end, Sanemi at the other, Mitsuri and Giyuu on either side, with Gyiomei behind Tanjirou, all with happy expressions except for Sanemi, who had his typical annoyed look and Obanai who maintained his stoic attitude. Then there were the photos he took of the celebration for his new rank, from some with his friends, others with his sister and his 2 masters and finally, the enormous amount of photos he took during the various dates he had next to his beloved black-haired girl, his butterfly, the love of his life and the person who supported him the most when he wanted to become stronger to honor the memory of Rengoku.

Then there were several letters he received from distant friends such as Urokodaki, Tamayo, Senjuro, the girls from the red light district, Kotetsu, some of the Hashiras like Muichiro and Mitsuri and, obviously, his beloved. Finally there were several objects of great sentimental value, such as A small bracelet that Gyomei gave her, similar to the ones he wore to pray, the paper airplane that Muichiro made when they played together, a miniature version of the mask that Urokodaki gave her, Genya's tooth, an acorn from Inosuke, a drawing made by Tenguen along with another of Makio, Suma and Hinatsuru and her most valuable object, her engagement ring. He promised her that when he became a Hashira, he would propose to her, upon proving to be strong enough to fight by her side. His mate accepted without hesitation and that was the happiest night in the redhead's life, although now that memory only caused him sadness and pain for her death. The ring she gave him was made of pure gold with a white, turquoise and pink butterfly emblem, made of different gems. Simple but perfect. He gave her a gold ring, but with a ruby and diamonds that simulated the shape and appearance of a sun, along with the names of their families written on the gold band. It cost all the money he had saved, but the tears of happiness she put when he put it between her slender fingers made the effort completely worth it. If they didn't wear the rings in public, it was because Gyomei warned everyone to be prepared for some urgent mission soon, so they both chose to keep the engagement a secret until everything was over. Now Tanjirou can only keep her ring as a memory of that love they shared, while he clung to the happy moments together so as not to go crazy with pain. He finally checked the small red book, empty inside, that Oyakata-sama gave him as one of the gifts he received when he was promoted to pillar rank, so that he could write down all the information he considered relevant about Sun Breathing.

As much as he feared damaging them during the missions, the kamado could not leave something so precious out of his reach; he felt that it was like a good luck charm, representing the good wishes of his loved ones for him,and now more than ever he was grateful to have them with him.

After getting fully dressed, the Kamado reflected on what he should do now. He knew the butterfly mansion as well as his old home in the mountains. Shinobu and Kanao had even shown him several secret hiding places where the most dangerous poisons were kept, in case he needed them, so he ruled out the possibility of being in that place, which he was a little grateful for because of the amount of happy memories he had with his butterfly and now he wouldn't know how he could set foot in the place without breaking down in tears from nostalgia.

Shaking his head quickly, the redhead put those thoughts aside and mentally checked all the places he had stayed during his missions and none of them matched the room he was in. This worried the young man a little, since if he didn't know where he was, he couldn't know where his friends were to know their health condition either, he also didn't know where Nezuko was, the last thing he knew was that she was sent to the Ubuyashi family's private estate to be guarded by ex-Hasisras along with what was left of the family that led the Demon slayers. He wished he could see her once and for all to hug her tightly, see how she was doing and be sure that the antidote had turned her completely human.

Tanjirou sighed in frustration at seeing his plans fail before they started. So it was time to make a new one "maybe exploring the place and asking someone for information would be best"

With that idea, Tanjirou approached the door, ready to leave the place when a man walked straight into the place where he was.The doctor was a middle-aged man wearing a lab coat and a strange object hanging from his neck, although, again, he lacked the typical clothing of the kakushis"Ah, I see you're awake, and it seems you're in very good condition."The man finally said when he saw that the patient was standing and completely dressed in the same clothes he had on when he was admitted to the hospital.

Tanjirou simply nodded at the information while putting on a polite smile."Yes sir, I greatly appreciate your help."

"I'm very glad to hear that. Your wounds were quite worrying, but luckily, the doctors were able to repair almost all the damage with their natural abilities, and your body itself was of great help in avoiding complications." The man's kind statement confused Tanjirou slightly.

"my body??are you talking about total concentration breathing and enhancing recovery??"Asked confused, especially since it was public knowledge the physical increase that the breathing forms granted.

"Oh, so those are the names of your quirks? They sound pretty interesting and they certainly seem to help you a lot to resist mortal wounds for most people" the doctor assumed after checking and observing the good condition of the boy.

"eh,yes!!I gess…" Tanjirou really had no idea what the man was saying"what is a quirk?? Why didn't Kakushi recognize the total concentration techniques??"Realizing that thinking about it would not allow him to get any answers, he decided to take advantage of the visit to get information about the others."Excuse me, but where exactly are we??This place doesn't look like the Butterfly mansion."

"Butterfly mansion??" Now it was the doctor who was confused "Young man, that hospital sounds familiar to me, you're in a simple hospital in the Musutafu prefecture."

Tanjirou's confusion turned to concern, with each answer he was only more confused. He expected the man to say that they were in another shelter because the butterfly mansion was completely full of wounded or at most in the new blacksmith village, but that name,Musutafu,he didn't know any place with that name, and he still hasn't seen any of his friends nearby"One question, do you know if Insuke and Zenitsu are okay??I haven't seen them here. "

Nowhere the man now had no idea what to do, he thought that maybe some concussion could have caused him to hallucinate, so he decided to go with the flow and then check him out. "Don't worry, they're all fine, you'll be able to see them later."

Obviously Tanjirou's sense of smell detected the doctor's lie, and his nerves clearly gave him away. Right now he had many questions, but for the moment one thing was clear, he was not in the Butterfly Mansion, nor in any Demon Slayer base, therefore there was no method to find out anything about his friends, increasing the concern he felt and hearing again the whispers that tormented him before. Again, he needed all his willpower to suppress the voices and not break down in front of a stranger, who could be an innocent person or an enemy

"God, I'm becoming as paranoid as Iguro".

He also didn't know where he could go, since he didn't know where he was exactly, but the real question was, how had he gone from being in the ruins of a town, full of Demon Slayers and Kakushis who would have treated him when he fainted, to being in an unknown place surrounded by people with strange appearances.

"If you'll excuse me young man, I have other matters to attend to, but first, could you give me your name and surname, as well as your parents?"

Tanjirou was seriously unsure of what to do here. He could help these people out and find a way to get his bearings and look for a known location, or simply not respond and see what happens or escape. He doubted that the poor man would even be able to see him go or even try to stop him.

In the end, he decided to go with the first option.

"My name is Tanjirou Kamado and my parents are Tanjurou and Kie Kamado."

"Perfect, thanks for the information Kamado-san, I'll come with some more doctors to check if your body is completely healthy."

"Yes!! Thank you for everything doctor" Tanjirou bowed in gratitude, while the doctor left the room, again, confused by the boy and his formal attitude. Once alone Tanjirou lay back down on his bed as he reflected on the recent events and what he should do now.

In the waiting room was Enji Todoroki, better known as the nº2 hero "Endeavour" along with a police detective, Naomasa Tsukauchi. Several days had passed since the Sun Hashira was hospitalized in the hospital and the hero was in charge of keeping an eye on the boy, whether he was in charge of that himself, or leaving the responsibility to one of his workers, receiving the pleasant news that he was alive and that now he was only in an unconscious state to recover.Just today was the day in which the hero received the news that Tanjirou had woken up, so he quickly decided to go to the hospital to talk to him and take him under his care, unfortunately, he was not the only one who received the news, if he took into account the presence of the detective. Both were having a heated discussion about the situation with the villain and Tanjirou's legal problems. The hero wanted to take the boy with him to see his full potential and train him alongside his youngest son, while the detective wanted to uphold the law, regardless of whether the accused was a minor or if what he did was when he was not fully conscious.

"The problem is not only that he has used his quirk illegally, but he has also killed a person, he may be a villain, but it is still murder" said the detective exasperated by the redhead's stubbornness.

"As if it matters what happened to that scum"he responded with annoyance"besides, the boy was not there at the beginning, a purple light simply appeared in the sky and he fell straight on that idiot, also seeing the wounds on his body, it was obvious that someone wanted to kill him, so he used his quirk in self-defense!!"

"It is still murder!!"The man replied, indignant at the hero's clear disregard for the lives of the villains.

"That stupid light left me completely blind, how could that boy know that there was someone there?? Besides, he is a villain, who is going to ask for legal action??his family, who probably doesn't give a fuck what happends to him"argument the hero, quite annoyed by the detective's rigid attitude

"And since when are you so interested in helping civilians??"he asked with suspicion at the hero's strange interest in the teenager, especially given the poor history of charity he usually has"as far as I remember, you only focus on catching villains, solving cases and not worrying about collateral damage. That's why your popularity is quite low"

"My reasons do not matter to you or anyone else,"The detective was going to reply but a light cough interrupted the discussion, focusing the attention of both adults on the doctor who was attending to Tanjirou.

"So?? The child is still alive ??" The doctor in response could only arch an eyebrow at the hero's insensitivity, while the detective only frowned but he focused his attention on the doctor's report.

"The young man is fine, much better than I expected, it seems that he has 1 resistance quirk and one for regeneration, which allowed him not only to survive the mortal wounds he had, but also to recover faster with the help of the other doctors."The doctor explained while reviewing the patient's papers.

"2?? Then it is true!! He has 3 quirks !!" The hero proclaimed with great joy and fascination, surprising the 2 companions, both for the open expression of happiness and for the declaration.

"3??What do you mean with 3 ??"asked the doctor confused.

"According to the heroine's statements MT-lady and several witnesses, the teenager attacked the villain with an accumulation of crimson flames coming from his sword"Reported Tsukauchi.

"And how do you know that the fire is from the boy and not the weapon??"asked the doctor skeptical.

"Todoroki analyzed the flames and to his surprise, not only did they cause large burns but they also seemed to absorb any nearby fire, plus the sword was near the boy at all times and never showed any intention of attacking him or even having any burns on his hands"

"Fascinating"the doctor said curiously about the theory"this is the first time I hear something about a person with 3 quirks, or perhaps the resistance and regeneration quirks are the same, only with broader effects, in any case it will be interesting to do tests in relation to that in the future."

"Why didn't you do it when they checked him??He could have had even more than 3 or even more powerful abilities."The redhead demanded in the absence of solid evidence about the boy's potential.

"Calm down your theories Todoroki-san, as for your question, the patient is a minor and we can only do medical tests that can help keep him alive. A quirk test does not fall into those parameters, and therefore neither a hero" looking at Endeavour" not the police" looking at Tsukauchi" have the right to demand something like that, the only ones who have the will to do so are their parents or a legal guardian. Also, it is very rare for a person to possess 2 quirks naturally, at most they will have 3 and it will be the first case in history of a person with that amount of quirks, 4 I already think are mental delusions."

"I see, then I suppose I will have to contact them and explain the situation, they will need to know the problems that their son has right now."

"Yes... regarding that subject, I don't think I can find anything useful."

The detective looked confused at the doctor" what do you mean??"

"The boy's name is Tanjirou Kamada, we were able to confirm his identity thanks to a DNA test. The problem is that his history only has that, a birth certificate, which classifies him as a 16 year old boy, but nothing else, there is no information on the names of his parents, what's more, there is no information on any person with the last name Kamado,or at least,no one who has been recently alive.. We also checked the citizenship database and there is also nothing from his relatives, no from the teenager, no medical check-ups, school grades, passports… Nothing, it's as if he had appeared out of nowhere and had been isolated from society until today"

"That is definitely very suspicious"questioned the detective.

"Also, during his tests, several injuries and scars were found in various regions of the body, such as organs, bones or skin.Luckily, the healing quirks have been useful in leaving all those tissues as good as new, except for the scars on the skin. For a moment I thought he had been abused, but the naturalness with which he spoke of his parents doesn't coincide with any sign of fear when mentioning them, in addition the physical condition is healthy, even athletic, a little short for today's young people, but far from the typical malnutrition of abuse. His behavior has always been calm and polite, with some strange delusions, mentioning a series of people, named Zenitsu and Inosuke, but he has never become fearful or violent, so the latter could be a product of the injuries he had."

"This is more than suspicious to say the least, a teenager, without family, school history or any reference over 16 years and with only a sword on him. Well, seeing as he seems to have no legal guardians, the infraction committed recently and the suspicions of being a villain in training, then he should be in police custody" Tsukauchi was going to head towards Tanjirou's room but a hand firmly grabs him by the shoulder and throws him straight into a chair. "Hey!! What the hell are you doing!!??"

"Hear me out, detective" The hero said in such a serious tone that it put the detective on alertThe boy has nowhere to go and needs a legal guardian, not to mention that someone is going to have to pay the huge hospital bill, so why don't you just leave him to me?? I am a recognized hero and I have the financial and physical means to keep him under control."

"HA!! Why should I entrust custody to you?? As I said before, you do nothing if it is not for your own benefit. You're just an old man desperate for not being on your knees in front of All-Might" He said sarcastically. He didn't believe in Endeavour's desire to help at all, he was definitely hiding something and it seemed like the boy was too valuable for him not to have him under his care.

"WHAT DID YOU SAY YOU USELESS BASTARD??!!!" Endeavour already had activated his flames ready to turn the detective into firefighter material but another cough stopped the conflict that was coming again.

"Detective, if I may offer my point of view, Todoroki-san is right"

"WHAT!!??" The doctor's response was definitely not what he expected.

"For starters, the police do not usually take care of health bills and that often causes conflicts between the Ministry of Health and Safety." The doctor glared at the detective who looked away embarrassed and unable to refute the statement "Also, putting a teenager, albeit small, but potentially unstable in front of a stressful situation such as a police interrogation can make the investigation difficult, not to mention the fact that the young man seemed completely stunned in the hospital. According to what he told me, he thought he was somewhere else, unknown to me, in addition, he mentioned many people who were possibly also involved as victims of whatever attacked the boy, so both the murder and the use of the quirk can be justified at first glance given his serious condition and the moment of shock suffered by those involved. In any case, I think it is better for everyone that he stays for the moment in Todoroki-san's residence rather than in a cold prison cell. He is a good boy, very polite and kind, I'm sure he won't cause any problems."

Tsukauchi couldn't argue much against the doctor's report, so he opted to see what he had to say."So, what do you propose??"

"Well, Todoroki-san can take care of the boy for a while, not only to study his behavior, but also to find out more about his mysterious past and the incidents that led him to a near-death state, if you're going to investigate the case. Besides, he has a family, which can help a lot in building trust between them and giving us more and better information, and even reform him if he turns out to be a potential villain."

The agent's face clearly showed that he didn't want to accept this, but he really had no justification to refuse the plan, the health jurisdiction surpasses the police, and a top hero will always have a higher priority than any police officer. As much as he didn't like Endeavour, he had no choice but to accept. "Okay, you win." Tsukauchi got up from his seat to leave the hospital, not before warning the hero of his obligations. "But a psychologist will have to check him periodically to see if there is still psychological damage, in addition to sending me a monthly report on any information you get. I need names, dates , phone numbers, school, anything."

Enji just nodded, satisfied that he had quickly resolved the annoying interference of the police. Now he had custody of the boy and could study the characteristics of his quirks, as well as observe his worth in combat, if he meets expectations, he could have him train with his son Shoto, so that he can finally convince him to use his fire quirk, and if possible, evolve it to levels similar to the Crimson Flame.

If he's just a disappointment, he can return him to the police and have Tsukauchi take care of him.

"So, are you going to test him for his quirk??"

The doctor just glared at him"don't push your luck, Endeavour. I just chose between a bad option and a worse one, don't think I don't know about what happened to your wife. After all, my sister is in charge of her case, so I hope you take good care of the young man or you could have the police looking for your head."

Enji simply nodded annoyed as he headed to Tanjirou's room, seeing as he wasn't going to be able to get anything by insisting, it was best to leave the doctor alone. With the police out of his way his plan had already taken a first step, now he needed the boy's cooperation to show him his skills, if all went well, he could defeat both All Might himself and his protégé. He had to admit it but it had been a long time since he felt this excited about something.

A/N:Well, the idea for this chapter was much longer than I thought so I decided to take a break here. It may not be the most interesting chapter but the beginning is always usually calmer to lay the foundations of a story, but the good thing is that part of the next chapter is already written, and without a doubt that is the interesting part of the original chapter. That encounter between Endeavour and Tanjirou undoubtedly promises a lot, especially because of the distrust of the younger redhead and the somewhat temperamental attitude of the older redhead. Anyway, I hope you liked it. Any ideas are free to share them in comments or by message.

edit:I hope you enjoyed the rewritten version of the chapter. Like the previous chapter, the pain that Tanjiro had gone through in the battle of the infinite castle was not as well expressed, nor the after-effects of post-traumatic stress. It was just "it's all over, it's a shame for the dead but we have to carry on as if nothing happened". The reality is very different and it was something that I would have liked to see even in the Kimetsu no Yaiba canon. If you're wondering about Tanjirou's fiancée who seems to be mentioned more in this chapter, to be honest, this was in the original chapter but I wanted to keep it as a subtle detail, but it was too much and in the end it was barely mentioned at all, besides, something so important I don't think can be mentioned in a couple of sentences, so I decided to simply hide the identity and let the sadness of the loss have its moment in the story, but who is she? Well, the name was in the original version but now I want to keep it a secret as much as possible, but I think there are very few options available seeing that she is described as "the butterfly" so I leave it to everyone's imagination. Also, this way I can develop the theme of mourning and loss, something that is going to be very important as the story progresses. If you just read this chapter, then don't worry, you didn't miss anything, again, the plot is the same but more detailed.

-Discarded idea:

Nezu was going to be the one who was going to get custody of Tanjirou, this because when seeing a teenager with very powerful abilities, they thought he had to be a student at the UA, so the director would be informed and upon hearing the Kamado case, he would decide to receive him at the school to make him a hero, also to introduce the UA theme more quickly. In the end I opted for Endeavour the similarity of elements of both redheads (fire / ice-sun / water) in addition to the fact that the rivalry between the heroes could be taken advantage of thanks to Tanjirou and All-Might's apprentice, in addition to the fact that as I mentioned before, mourning and loss will have a considerable weight in the plot, something that can also be very used in the Todoroki family

Thanks for reading :)
