Demon King and his friends came to a digital world to find Shura. When he did find Shura, Demon King was pulled into another duel. Shura was able to summon out the same monster he used to give Demon King a difficult time, but Demon King was able to make a comeback. He currently has his Crew of Edens active with Cosmic Guardian Fall at 2400atk points with him also having 3000LP. Shura currently had no monsters and had 2900LP. The duel is rather even at the moment, but that could change at any moment.
"You might think you have this duel won just because you took down Dark G. Halley, but don't think it's over. I've still got a few pieces up my sleeve." Shura warned.
"Go ahead and give it your best shot." Demon King said. "I'm ready for anything you might try." 'I need to find out where this guy even came from and how he knows my skill. Something weird is going on. He mentioned something about someone teaching it to him, but who could that be when I'm the only one who can use it.'
"Demon King, I highly suggest you brace yourself for anything." Eden said. "We may have defeated his best monster, but he still seems rather calm and confident."
"You're right. He's got something planned." Demon King said, and he's a little a nervous about what it might be.
"It's my turn!" Shura said as he drew his next card. "Perfect! I'm activating Meteoroid Debris spell! By banishing a Dark G. link monster in my graveyard, I can gain a Dark G. token for each one of it's links. So, I'll banish my Dark G. Halley!"
"What?! He's banishing his best monster?!" Demon King said as he and Eden weren't expecting that.
"Dark G. Halley has three links, which means I get three Dark G. tokens!" Shura said as he removed his monster from his graveyard and got three tokens on his field, and each one has 0def points.
"Why would he trade away his best monster for those three weaker monsters?" Eden wondered until she realized something. "Unless he has something that's just as strong as Dark G. Halley!"
"Something just as strong as it?!" Demon King questioned as he didn't like the sound of that.
"You got that right!" Shura said. "I will now build my circuit!" He called with his circuit opening. "The summoning conditions are three Dark G. monsters, so I set all three of my Dark G. tokens in the link arrows!" All three of his monsters were placed in the arrows, the one pointing down and the top two corners. "I link summon Link 3 Dark G. Hyakutake!" He summoned a new Dark G. monster. This one looked like a small mountain with the stone face of a dragon on it and had two large stone arms next to it. It also had 2800atk points.
"Another Dark G. link monster?!" Demon King said.
"And I believe this one will be just as troubling as the last one." Eden said.
"Meteoroid Debris has one other effect! If I have a Dark G. in my graveyard that has 500atk points or less, I can add it to my hand!" Shura said as he took another card from his graveyard. "So, I'm adding Dark G. Soft back to my hand."
"But I doubt this attack is going to be soft." Demon King said.
"You can say that again, but I'll get to that in a moment!" Shura said. "I activate Dark G. Hyakutake's special ability! I can move any monster on the field so that it's linked with it!"
"Again?!" Demon King questioned.
"Yes, again." Shura said. "What's more is that any monster on my opponent's field is next to Hyakutake's link, it has to battle it and no other monster on the field. Force Reposition!" Hyakutake used it's gravity power and moved Cosmic Guardian Fall over to it's link. "There's one more ability it has. Hyakutake gains an additional 300atk points for every monster next to it's link!" Hyakutake gained more power as it now had 3100atk points. "There's more! Since I have a Dark G. monster on the field, I can summon this monster without a tribute. Dark G. Rockhead!" He summoned out another golem-like monster, but it had a rock set on it's head like a helmet to be used as a hammer. It also had 1800atk points. "With it summoned next to Hyakutake's link, he gains another 300atk points." He claimed as Hyakutake now has 3400atk points.
'Amazing. He just recently got that monster. After his defeat, he was working and improving on his skills. As a reward he got that new monster, and he's already making full use of it.' Ijuna thought.
"Hyakutake, attack! Destroy his Cosmic Guardian with Strong Rupture!" Shura called. Hyakutake gathered power into it's giant stone hands and fired twin beams from it. They obliterated Demon King's monster and caused his life points to drop to 2000. With one less monster, Hyakutake's power dropped to 3100, but it doesn't matter right now. "With that out of the way, Dark G. Rockhead can attack you directly!" His golem attacked and smashed its head against Demon King and caused his life points to drop down to 200. "Only 200LP left. This duel will be over soon enough."
"As long as Eden and I still have any life points left, we still have a chance to win." Demon King said.
"That is correct. The chances might be small, but we still have a chance." Eden said.
"You really think so? Well, let's see what you've got! I'm waiting!" Shura dared.
"You asked for it!" Demon King said as he drew his next card. "You remember this monster, don't you? I summon Edens Witch to the field!" He summoned out his witch with her having 1000atk points. "And I'm sure you remember what she can do. When she's summoned, I can add a spell or trap from my deck to my hand! The card I choose is Element Ether."
"How is that going to help you?" Shura said.
"I was getting to that. From my hand, I'm activating the effects of Space Jetter! Since I have only one monster on the field, I can special summon it!" Demon King said as he summoned out a small jet. When it flew down, it had arms and legs grow out and it had 400atk points. "I now activate Element Ether! Since I have Edens Witch on the field, this spell allows me to change the attribute of one monster to whichever I choose. I transform Edens Witch to water." A blue aura came around his witch and she changed from light to water.
"Why would you do something like that?" Shura questioned.
"You're about to find out. I can fusion summon this monster by just having the needed monsters on my field." Demon King said. "The summoning conditions are one machine-type monster and one water attribute monster! That's why I changed Witch into a water attribute!" The two of them began to fuse together and brought out a new monster. "I combine these two to rouse the seas of the cosmos! I fusion summon Cosmic Guardian Summer!" He summoned out another guardian with this one appearing to be a female android with pink hair and wearing a white and blue dress. She also had 2200atk points.
"He was able to fusion summon now?!" Ijuna said.
"Not bad, but she can't win against Hyakutake." Shura said.
"That's why we have Cosmic Guardian Summer's special ability!" Eden said. "Until the end of this turn, one monster loses attack points equal to the attack points of one the monsters we used for the fusion!"
"That means your Hyakutake is losing 1000atk points, the same as Edens Witch!" Demon King said with Hyakutake's power dropping to 2100. "Making it just weak enough for Cosmic Guardian Summer to finish it off! Attack with Ocean Crash!" His guardian generated streams of water with an electrical current running through them.
"From my hand, I activate the effects of Dark G. Soft!" Shura said. "If I send this card to the graveyard, my Dark G. survives your attack!"
"No!" Demon King said as that might have been his one and only chance to destroy Hyakutake. The attack connected and Shura's life points did drop to 2800, but his monster survived the attack.
"So that's why he added Dark G. Soft back to his hand." Eden said.
"Did you really think I wouldn't have been ready for when you attack?" Shura said. "I might have underestimated you last time, but not this time. This time, I'm more than ready for you."
"We'll see about that. For right now, I'm placing two cards facedown and end my turn." Demon King said. "Since we've reached the end, Hyakutake's power returns to normal." He claimed as Hyakutake had 3100atk points again.
'Two face-downs? One of them must be his Escape from Collapsing Ground, the card he added to his hand during his first turn.' Shura analyzed. 'That card will allow him to avoid taking damage by returning a monster in his graveyard to his deck. That has to be one of them.'
'They're life points might be far apart, but they're pretty even. They're anticipating and countering the other's move.' Ijuna thought. 'Even so, one of them has to lose, and that will be Demon King.'
"My turn! I draw!" Shura said as he drew his next card, and it ended up being the very card he needed. "Perfect! I activate Dark G. Crash! This spell allows me to destroy one spell or trap for each Dark G. I have on my field. I have two Dark G. monsters, but you have three spell or trap cards on your field. So, which one of them should I destroy?" Shura knows that if he wants to win, he has to be able to hit Escape from Collapsing Ground. "Better to be safe than sorry, so I think I'll destroy both of your face-downs!" Both of his rock monsters shot a piece of themselves at the two face-downs Demon King had to have them destroyed, and one of them did end up being Escape from Collapsing Ground. "Ha! I knew it! You were planning to save yourself with Escape from Collapsing Ground! It's too late now, and you're finished! Dark G. Hyakutake, attack his Cosmic Guardian Summer and end this!" Hyakutake attacked and it seemed like it was going to be the end. With so little life points left, Demon King couldn't have survived. The attack connected and caused a fierce explosion to go off.
"He did it." Ijuna said with Shura laughing in victory.
"Boom, baby!" Shura said. "Now I'm the best, and no one is going to be able to defeat me!"
"You haven't won yet." Shura saw through the smoke that Demon King was still standing.
"How did you survive?!" Shura questioned.
"You were right. I was planning to use Escape from Collapsing Ground to avoid taking damage, but you missed the other card." Demon King said. "The other card you destroyed was called Hyper Jump. When that trap is in my graveyard, I can use it's affect once to avoid any damage this turn."
"I can't deal any damage to you at all?! Destroying your trap actually helped you?!" Shura complained as he couldn't believe he fell for that.
"Thank you for making this happen." Eden said.
"I can't believe this!" Shura called as he was really mad now.
"Calm down, Shura. Keep in mind that this isn't about your pride." Ijuna said. Shura knew that, but he was still getting mad.
"Not about his pride?" Eden questioned. "If he's not doing this for his own reasons, do you think he's following orders from someone else? This all did seem rather too organized for it to be just about his own reasons."
"I don't know, but all I do know is that we have to win this." Demon King said. "I believe it's my turn now. I draw!" He drew his next card and it was Gravity Slider. "When I have no monsters on the field, I can summon Gravity Slider!" He summoned out his monster with it having 1000atk points. "When Gravity Slider is summoned from it's ability, I can draw one card!" He drew his next card and it was just what he needed. "Next, if I banish one spell and one trap from my graveyard, I can summon Dual Wyvarium!" He banished Hyper Jump and Shield of Edens so he could summon out his cyber wyvern with it having 2400atk points. "Finally, I'm summoning Edens Hermit to the field!" He brought out Hermit with her having 600atk points. "I now have all I need to build my circuit!" He called as the circuit appeared. "The summoning conditions are at least two monsters that were special summoned! So I set all three monsters in the link arrows!" All three of his monsters dived into the arrows that pointed up and to the sides. "I link summon Link 3 Cosmic Guardian Winter!" He summoned out his fourth guardian with it being another woman dressed like royalty. She also had 2000atk points.
"I should have seen that one coming, but what's the point?" Shura said.
"You're about to see." Demon King said. "When there are no monsters next to her links when she's linked summon, all the cards in both of our graveyards return to our decks."
"Both?!" Shura said. Both of them did get all their cards back and they were all now back in their deck. "What's the point?"
"Because she has another ability." Demon King said. "For each fellow Cosmic Guardian that was brought back, she gains 1000atk points while your monsters lose the same amount."
"Each one?!" Shura said as he was shocked. That was when it came to him. 'That's why he summoned them?! He had this planned from the beginning!'
"Go, Cold Renewal!" Demon King called. His final monster unleashed a blast of cold wind that froze Shura's two monsters. Her power rose all the way to 5000 while both of Shura's monsters had 0 and 100atk points. "It's over! Attack with Cosmic Blizzard!" His monster unleashed a powerful blizzard against Hyakutake and destroyed. The force knocked Shura back and caused him to lose all of his life points.
"He lost again?!" Ijuna said.
"Now, it's time to get some answers!" Demon King insisted.
"You..." Shura groaned as he tried to stand back up. Just then, the mountain he and Ijuna were on began to break apart.
"Time to go. Demon King, you may have lost this time, but we will be back." Ijuna said as he the mountain was dropping back to the ground, but Shura and Demon King glared right at each other as the fierce rivalry between them only grew. This is far from over.
"Demon King! There you are!" Demon King turned around and saw his friends were able to get to him.
"Are you okay?" Aoneko questioned.
"Did you find Shura?" Kyubi questioned.
"Yes. He was here, but he escaped once again. I think we've explored enough for today. It's best we leave." Eden suggested.
"Yeah. I think that might be a good idea." Jinn said.
"Let's go." Laguna said as they all logged out, but Demon King stayed behind for a moment.
"Demon King? What's wrong?" Eden questioned.
'Shura is a powerful duelist, but if he's taking orders from someone else, who could be behind this?' Demon King wondered. There appears to be something much bigger going on, but Demon King plans to find out what that is.
