A/N Syg, maybe lazy is the wrong word to use to describe Giles. Seriously unprepared or not properly trained. Weirdly naive, despite his past as Ripper, any of those might be better ways of describing him. 😏

The movie Jesse references actually came out in 2002. But different timelines, different realities, different choices could result in it being made or released sooner.

"Alright, while the Council is looking for Mr. Rayne they're also investigating how Eyghon could return." Diane returned a little while later after contacting the Council with her report. "And to answer your earlier question, Cordelia, the Watchers Council employs psychics of all kinds and often acts on their word, these circumstances, involving another timeline, are unusual, but it's still information that comes from a psychic and they're used to acting on it."

"Cool, like that movie with the precognitives with Tom Cruise." Jesse grinned. "Minority Report, the precogs give a heads up on crime and the cops can stop it from happening in the first place."

"Yes, exactly." Diana smiled back. "I've never heard of the movie, but I am aware of who Tom Cruise is. Now, back on topic, Cordelia, are you ready to see what those feelings of yours might show us?"

"Sure, go ahead." Cordelia glanced at Xander. "After all, it didn't fry the Doofus' brain, so mine should come through all right." Xander snorted and a grinning Diana cast her spell.

"Now, Cordelia, you said you felt like you knew Kendra. How did you know her?"

"Her Watcher sent her to Sunnydale to investigate the rise of a dark power."

"So you knew her before Buffy."

"No, while we knew Buffy."

Diana frowned. "That makes no sense, Cordelia. If Buffy was the Vampire Slayer, then Kendra would be a Potential. Why would a Watcher send a Potential to investigate a rising power instead of a hunter team?"

"He didn't, he sent a Slayer."

Diana stared wide eyed as Mason gaped at Cordelia.

"You're saying there were two Slayers? There's only ever been one at a time, how could there be two?"

"Buffy drowned, Xander revived her."

"And she was gone long enough for the next Slayer to be Called?! What happened when they met?"

"Kendra tried to kill Buffy. Buffy was with Angel and Kendra immediately knew Angel was a vampire, she thought Buffy was too."

"Buffy didn't register as a fellow Slayer? I have no idea if that would be normal since there's never been two Slayers at the same time. Was this dark power found and stopped?"

"Yes."

"What was this dark power?"

"A sick vampire that another vampire wanted to heal."

"I wonder if these vampires will show up here." Diana murmured.

"I hope not, she's insane. Plus she offered Xander eternal life with her." Cordelia answered.

"An insane vampire?" Diana looked thoughtful as Xander looked scared. "Was her name Drusilla?"

"Yes."

"A connection to Angelus, he made Drusilla. They may have come here seeking him, vampires, especially when they're of the same lineage, can sense each other. With him destroyed, she has no reason to come here. Except the Hellmouth, which does draw vampires in general." Diana mused. "Anything else interesting about Kendra's visit?"

"It's the first time Xander kissed me."

"I meant regarding Kendra." Diana tried not to laugh as Xander was no longer looking scared and Faith was nearly busting a gut laughing.

"Giles didn't know another Slayer had been Called."

Diana stopped looking amused and stared at Cordelia. "That makes no sense. Mr. Zabuto would have notified the Council that a new Slayer had been Called. They would have assumed, rightly, that this Buffy had died. Mr. Giles would have had to have informed them she'd been revived. Xander did tell Mr. Giles he revived her, correct?"

"Yes, so did Angel."

"Angel, short for Angelus?"

"Yes."

"How did Angel know she'd died and that Xander had revived her?"

"Xander forced Angel to help him find her. Giles told her she was prophecied to die."

"There was a prophecy regarding her death?! With her removed from the Slayer line, does this prophecy now involve another Slayer?" Diana looked at Faith, terrified of the possibility. "What was the prophecy?"

"The Slayer will face the Master and die."

"The Master?"

It was Xander that answered. "The attack on the Bronze, when Kendra died, the big vampire she destroyed said 'every soul he took made the Master stronger.'

"Mr. Zabuto sent her here in this timeline to stop a dark power and she did. She reported a vampire tried to tell her the Master wanted to escape and was using a ritual called the Harvest to do it. He's presumably still trapped. Was the Council aware of this prophecy?" Diana continued questioning Cordelia.

"I don't know."

"How did Mr. Giles know about this prophecy?"

"He found it in the Pergamon Codex."

Now Diana was gasping, almost hyperventilating. "The Pergamon Codex was lost, presumed destroyed centuries ago! How did Mr. Giles find it?"

"Angel gave it to him."

"And Mr. Giles just accepted it?! A vampire hands him a lost book of Slayer lore and prophecies and he just accepts it? And tells his Slayer she's prophecied to die based on a so called prophecy he found in a book a vampire gave him?! What the Hell was he smoking back in the sixties?! It apparently fried his brains!"
