A/N Nidhogg, some of your questions aren't answerable and others are premature. Buffy's no longer a Potential or a Slayer, there is a locator spell for Potentials, Willow used it in season 7 to try to find some Potentials and the Watchers Council finds Potentials too. But both Buffy and Faith weren't found initially anyway, Buffy until after she was Called and Faith when she was a young teenager, so it's not a hundred percent accurate. At best Xander might be able to tell the Council her name and where she attended High School, that might help the Council track her down in this timeline. But bear in mind, to remove her from the Slayer line might have included killing her before she could be Called or ensuring she was never born. She's not appearing in this story anymore anyway, Faith's the important part here.

We're coming up on Prophecy Girl and the Master tried to force Buffy to deal with him, I don't see him doing anything different, so yes, you'll see what happens to him soon enough.

While I believe Dawn was made from Faith in canon, due to the way the monk told Buffy 'we made her from the Slayer and sent her to you in the form of a sister', a statement that indicates the monks consider the Slayer something separate from Buffy, I've already said Dawn won't be showing up in canon form in this story and she didn't show up until the fifth season and it's only the first season right now and no, the baby Faith's pregnant with is not this timeline's version of Dawn. But the baby is special in her own way.

There I go again, being a rascal and hinting. 😁

Sphygmus, Choose Your Own Adventure sounds great (I loved those books when I was a kid) and would explain why so many things seem like setups when you examine them, the Master and the Pergamon Codex, the monk who led Glory, even more braindead than noblewoman Buffy, straight to Buffy and the Key, all of season 7 leading up to the really not brilliant and so obviously what the First taunted Buffy into doing activation of the Slayers, all the way up to the extremely obvious manipulations of Twilight in the comics. Hell, Skip told Angel he was just a tool being manipulated by Jasmine for years and that he was just too stupid to see it.

It all makes sense in hindsight, they were manipulated and walked right into sometimes really obvious traps!

Which means I treat canon as a suggestion and than totally rewrite it. 😜

"So what do we do next?" Jesse asked after Diana finally wound down from her tirade deriding Rupert Giles' intelligence and guiding of the Slayer from the other timeline.

"Now I send off my report on this matter to the Council. Their own psychics will attempt to corroborate as much as they can. They'll try to determine this Buffy Summers current status and I will begin training Xander and Cordelia to understand and use their abilities to their best. Since the Council employs psychics they may even offer you a job after graduation, Cordelia, as they will Xander. Possibly Jesse as well since he's just as keen to learn as Xander is. Bear in mind, Cordelia, none of this is required, you could choose to walk away and try to forget any of it ever happened."

"Forgetting doesn't seem possible, I remember, kinda, a timeline that no longer exists! And if I'm getting these feelings because I have some kind of extra ability, than pretending they don't exist is not being truthful. But I do need time to think about everything I've heard and accept that in this other timeline I threw away popularity and my Queen of the school status to be with Doofus here and apparently miss him so much that it followed me across the timeline too! What made it worthwhile?"

"Marathon nights of great sex?" Faith suggested, grinning at someone she would never have considered friend material before, but was really enjoying teasing while wondering at the possibilities of friendship.

Cordelia opened her mouth, closed it and looked thoughtful while Xander just looked...wide eyed and hoped he didn't say anything stupid. Was Cordelia considering the possibilities of a relationship with him? Let alone sex? His sixteen year old hormone hindbrain was cheering and urging him to go for it, his sixteen year old forebrain, steeped in years of pain and fear of Tony Harris was convinced he'd mess it up somehow because he didn't deserve it. Tony Harris cast a long and scary shadow.

"Well, it might be a start." Cordelia conceded. "But we're only sixteen and in this timeline we've never even kissed and I have to think about the fact he's already involved somehow with you. Are we going to end up fighting over him or something? Or is he going to dump one of us for the other?"

"Cordelia," Faith said seriously. "Xander and I aren't romantically involved. We've made the decision not to be right now and for a very good reason, it would seriously cloud a very important issue we both have an interest in. We made the decision to put that issue first so we don't end up causing more pain down the road if things went bad between us. If you're serious about considering a relationship with Xander or if you're serious about being part of this group we seem to be forming then that means trusting you with a secret we don't want spread around the school. It means trusting you. Can we trust you? And I'm not asking Xander or Jesse that question because their personal feelings might affect their answer. I need to know if I can trust you. Do you think I can trust you?"
