In 1920, Dr. John Watson breaks his long silence on the darkest, most difficult case - actually a series of cases - that Sherlock Holmes ever worked on. Holmes believes it's his greatest failure, but Watson thinks very differently. He believes the case showed Holmes at his very best.

Holmes and Watson receive a visit from two gentlemen from Berlin. Gustav Lilienthal reports on the tragic crash of his brother Otto Lilienthal, from which he believes more than just an accident is involved. He asks Sherlock Holmes to travel to Berlin and investigate for himself.

Holmes and Watson's voyage back to England takes an unsettling turn when their ship becomes trapped in polar ice. After a strange encounter with a phantom vessel, passengers begin dying under mysterious circumstances. As Watson falls ill, Holmes must work quickly to uncover the truth before their icy surroundings become impossible to escape. **COMPLETE**

Not all things need words to be spoken. There are those messages that just cannot be expressed through any human language, yet are as clear as though they were shouted out loud. A few brief moments from yet another evening spent patching up an injury remind Sherlock Holmes and Dr. John Watson of this fact.
