Australia 1985, the picnic
Robert laid on the blanket with another one covering them as he looked down at a sleeping Holly. They had just made love, he could never get enough of it. They really did have such a wonderful life together.
Holly started to stir and looked up into the most gorgeous blue eyes.
"Have a nice sleep?" Robert asked her as he kissed her head, just marveling at holding her close to him. He had never and would never love any other woman quite like this.
"Wonderful, I was afraid I would wake up and not be in your arms, I missed this." Holly whispered as she cuddle into Robert.
End of flashback.
Robert started to stir and saw Holly asleep in his arms. He smiled and kissed her head. Some things really never changed and he loved that.
Holly started to stir and looked at him. "Thank you."
"For what?" Robert asked as he ran his fingers through her hair.
"For staying with me, for holding me, for loving me." Holly knew how incredible this love between her and Robert was, every day it just seemed to get stronger.
"You never have to thank me for any of that. It's a pleasure." Robert gave her a squeeze.
Jayne walked down the stairs. "Oh, you two are up."
"When did you get home?" Holly asked as she took notice of the blanket on them.
"Not too long ago. I covered you both up then went upstairs for a little while. I hope you don't mind I plan on cooking tonight." Jayne wanted to make sure she wasn't stepping on any toes.
"Mind? We would love it. We just had a picnic in the park a few hours ago." Robert told Jayne as him and Holly got up.
Holly folded up the blanket. "It was the sweetest thing, I think you got your kindness from your father."
Robert shook his head. "That's you my dear."
"No, no." Holly put the blanket up.
"I know where my stubbornness comes from." Jayne laughed as she sat down at the bar. "Do you two care if I invite JJ over? I would like him to get to know you both better."
"I would like that too." Holly smiled, she had gotten to know JJ pretty well but she loved the idea of knowing more about the man who meant to much to their daughter.
"As would I. I already think he's a great man. I would like to get to know him even more." Robert told Jayne.
"Thank you both." Jayne was ecstatic, she wanted this response from Alistair all those years ago but couldn't get it, honestly this was so much better. "I'll call him while I get dinner together."
