The next morning, Hyacinth woke up earlier than usual. Since she planned on walking around all day, she decided against putting on a new outfit and instead put on a gently used outfit she purchased at a local thrift shop down the street from Private Drive. They weren't the best quality, but they would do for now.

Cin was directed to the raised platform in front of several floor-length mirrors, "Now you step up on here dear, and tell me what I can do for you today." Cin stepped up onto the platform and said, "I have done some growing and gone through a lot of changes over the summer, and I just turned thirteen and received another magical boost. In the process came certain body changes I was not prepared for yet, which means I need to know my new measurements, such as chest, waist, and hips. I need new school uniforms and a full casual wardrobe," she requested.

Malkin nodded and took out her tape measure, which floated in midair before starting to measure around Cin's breasts, waist, followed by her hips, before the tape measure went complete lengthways, increasing in length so it could measure Cin's inner leg before finally measuring from head to toe. Once done the tape measure floated back into Malkin's outstretched hand, she then nodded at what she saw and summoned a piece of parchment and a self-inking quill. She cast a hovering charm on the parchment and quill, the quill hovered for a moment before touching the parchment and started to write down whatever Malkin said, all of Cin's measurements.

As she got to work, she asked Cin, "Right, let's set you up with say five sets of robes, one for each school day?" Cin nodded removed her jacket and placed it on an armchair. Malkin then went over to the racks that held the female black robes. She walked back over to the platform, handed one of the robes to Cin, and placed the other four on a nearby chair. She had Cin slip on the robe, and once on magically adjusted it using the measurements she had taken earlier. She informed Cin that the scarlet color of the inner lining and patch for her house would be added to the robes later on.

Cin removed the robe after fifteen minutes of adjustments made whilst she was wearing it. She asked, "Can you please have the five robes, along with five grey pleated skirts and grey jumpers with Gryffindor colors around the neck and sleeves, and five pairs of knee-high grey stockings, all delivered by owl post a week before the start of the school term?" She paused to add, "I don't need a new tie the one I already have will do just fine,"

Malkin nodded and replied, "Of course, but you will need five white blouses so do not forget them." She asked, "Now, let's get your wardrobe," Madame Malkin said smiling. It took more than two hours to get everything, but as Cin looked at all the jeans, trousers, tights, skirts, dresses, jackets, undergarments, and shoes in many different styles, she couldn't be happier. It was time she had something for herself. She walked out of the store after spending almost two thousand galleons, and she knew by the end of the day, she would have spent a small fortune.

The next shop catered to dragon hide from all dragon species. When Cin entered the store, her eyes zeroed in on the clothing. For example, jackets, long and short, fancy dress coats, long and short, skirts, long and short, trousers, tights, waistcoats, wallets, purses, handbags, and even backpacks. Cin even spotted notebooks, folders, photo albums, and even boots and high heels all covered in dragon hide.

The witch at the counter watched as Cin's eyes practically lit up at the sight of all the dragon hide, and could not help but laugh. "Look around my dear," shaking her head as Cin almost ran to the clothing racks. She zeroed in on the Chinese Fireball, Common Welsh Green, Hebridean Black, Hungarian Horntail, Norwegian Ridgeback, Swedish Short-Snout, and Ukrainian Ironbelly. Cin eyed the folders, photo albums, purses, and shoes made out of the pinkish-red hide. Cin told the lady at the counter, "I would like one of everything on this display," she nodded and walked over, "Anything else, dear?" Cin looked in the direction where there was a display with everything made out of a green hide. She said, "Everything," she beamed.

She continued to look around until she spotted the Hungarian Horntail and Swedish short snout displays, having already viewed the Welsh Green and Chinese Fireball displays. She wanted a little of everything from all four dragons. She told the lady as much as she said, "I want everything on the Hungarian and Swedish short snout display, even the backpacks."

She barely stopped herself from snorting and rolling her eyes in disgust when she noticed how the witch's eyes practically lit up like a Christmas tree as if all of her birthdays had come early and all in one go. Cin silently wagered she was most likely barely resisting the urge not to jump up and down together in absolute glee. One of the workers helped the lady gather up everything Cin pointed to, and she insisted that Cin try on the clothing and shoes.

An hour later, the witch rang up all of Cin's purchases and noticed the witch falter slightly as she saw the final price. The whole order was over two thousand galleons, and she wasn't sure Cin could afford it until she pulled out a Gringotts card, and she knew the young witch could easily afford it. Dragon hide costs a lot of money, and not everyone can make a big purchase like this when bought in a large quantity.

Cin's next stop was Flourish and Blotts. Daphne and Leo may have helped her understand the magical world, but she wanted to know more. She purchased seven books on each subject along with three advanced books for each of them. Transfiguration, Charms, Potions, History of Magic, Defense Against the Dark Arts, Astronomy and Herbology. She had chosen three different advanced books on medical potions and spells. Two of which were thick-bound medical books, one showed diagrams of wand movements for charms and spells, while the second was an encyclopedia of all known medical spells and charms and what they were common and not so commonly used for.

Cin spotted books on wizarding etiquette and society, additional books on potions, basic books on runes and arithmancy - which she was reminded that Cin had loved math in Muggle School - she also purchased a few books on curses and their counters.

She then went through all the sections and got more books. She took some on magical history, especially the one about the first civil war against Voldemort, one on the government, a beginner book about traditions and culture, a general guide to potions, an overview about all subjects taught at Hogwarts, a book about all magical schools in Europe, a guide to professions in the magical world, a book about magical creatures, a guide for muggleborns into the magical world as she knew she needed the book since she had been muggle-raised, (it didn't matter how much Leo and Daphne tried to teach her about their world, she was still behind on what was expected of her as heiress of the Noble and Most Ancient House of Potter), a report on goblins, the current magical commercial register. Another on warding, one on magical languages, one on another period of history than the ones Cin already had.

Cin also bought 'Potion Opuscule' by the same author of her potion textbook, which was a very useful manual for beginners that explained things such as why some potions required a certain metal for the cauldrons and not others, why certain ingredients needed to be sliced, others crushed, etc, and why the number or direction of the stirrings affected the brewing of the potions. All things she would have found extremely useful to know the first time around. Beinging a magical child raised in the muggle world; Cin wouldn't have known what to get seeing as the beginners' guide for potions hadn't been on her list in her first year.

She had decided to acquire some other books as well that she found interesting – other books about potions and alchemy as well, along with many other books. She purchased many other books on Defense. It may have been her best subject, but you never stopped learning what you needed. Besides, with the professors that have been teaching Defense aside from Remus, they lacked what they had needed to know, some more books the pureblood children probably studied before entering Hogwarts (etiquette and manners, but also traditions, heritage and customs), some more history books (mostly modern history but not only that) and some books about historical magic, some law books, Hogwarts: A History (because it was about time she read that), some beginners' books of Ancient Runes and Arithmancy (she had decided she would take these two subjects in addition to Care of Magical Creatures but she would forego Divination), some fairytale books she imagined her parents would have read to her as a child if only they had lived, some beginner's guides to learn Occlumency and Advanced Occlumency, two books on Legilimency, (those books would have been nice the year before, seeing she was sure Snape and Dumbledore have been reading her mind), and a final two on advanced non-medical potions, some books about healing magic (both spells and potions), some cooking and Housecare books (because those were important to know as well) and some general spell books for everyday use.

Cin then made quick work of picking up enough parchment to last for a whole year as well as selecting four new quills, which one was a pretty peacock feather that was self-inking in every color imaginable. She also remembered to pick up a new supply of both black and emerald green ink, and even a dark lilac and baby blue colored ink she spotted and knew she just had to have them both. Draco may have gifted her a few that would last years but Cin enjoyed a variety of colors and quills in case she wanted a change.

She found stationary that seemed to have been created similarly to how muggle things look, but they had many magical features. The notebooks for example allowed someone to sort the pages by writing numbers into the corner at the bottom of the page and would then have them in the order they decided on. They also have fields in which you can write a title and the book will create an index at the front, which would make revisioning easier for tests and essays. It cut down the time it normally took to find the correct notes.

If someone tapped a page number on the index, it would open the notebook to the exact page. The bonus was if someone placed a piece of parchment over a page, for example for an essay, and stated 'copy', it would have a perfect replica of what someone wrote on the parchment. It had the option to delete what didn't fit or sounded right after it was done. Cin thought it was ingenious. She loved the idea. The best part was while it may appear to have only one hundred pages, in reality, it was limitless. It made her think of Neville Longbottom. They may not be close, but they were friends, and he would love the notebook since he could be forgetful at times.

Seeing as she wouldn't need so much parchment during the year now that she found this notebook, Cin only purchased enough for exams and essays. Lastly, she picked up one of the hardback journals she saw on display, choosing one that had a pale green cover that had a deep burnt gold-colored tiger-lily pattern that intertwined with vines and butterflies that fluttered across the cover and the thick and hard spine. A solid butterfly clasp kept the journal closed securely the clasp was in the same gold color as the pattern, which had tiny dark purple stones on the wings and for the eyes.

The pages were of the highest quality and pure snow white in color and had a texture that felt smooth like satin, instead of the pale brownish color of the parchment used for school. The journal would possibly last Cin's whole life with its never-ending pages. It would need to last that long with the kind of life Cin lived there would never be a lack of information to grace the pages.

The journal was around four inches thick and was the kind that never ran out of paper, allowing you to store previous entries that you could look back on with a tap of your wand and think of the date of the entry. Tapping the cover with your wand and thinking of where you last left off would turn automatically to that page. It was perfect if you were the kind of person who had issues keeping track of when and what they had written.

It worked the same as the notebook she found, but instead of notes, Cin would use it for her deepest personal feelings and thoughts. It was perfect and so very pretty, that Cin loved it on sight when compared to the other two options, which were a combination of black and red, and pink and silver. She knew she would keep and only use her new lilac ink for when she wrote in the journal.

After she paid for her purchases, Cin checked the time and saw that she had enough time to go shopping in London also. She decided to stop at the biggest bookstore in London, Boarders Books. She grabbed a cart and started browsing. Her first choices were the whole Charles Dickens collection, displayed in the full collection of all thirty-six works, written by the author. For example, Great Expectations, Oliver Twist, A Christmas Carol, A Tale of Two Cities, and David Copperfield are among the whole collection. That collection alone was over eighty pounds, which amazed the others that one muggle author ended up writing so many stories.

Next was the whole Bram Stoker collection of twelve novels, Dracula among them. She even placed the whole Roll Dahl collection consisting of all fifteen known titles into the cart. Next was the whole William Shakespeare collection consisting of all twenty-seven titles, Romeo and Juliet, Macbeth, Hamlet, The Tempest, The Twelfth Night, and Taming of the Shrew to name some of the titles, which all found a place inside one of Cedric's baskets.

She next selected the whole Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice, Interview with a Vampire, and The Queen of the Damned to name a few of that series. She even spotted a huge collection of muggle fairy tales such as Peter Pan, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Red Riding Hood, Alice in Wonderland, and many other titles included in the same genre. Lastly, she picked up The Count of Monte Cristo, Dangerous Liaisons, and twenty-five titles from the Mills and Boon collection.

The next stop was the beauty shop. Cin knew she needed a haircut, and she had never worn makeup, so this was the perfect opportunity to learn how to apply it correctly. Fifteen minutes later, she walked into one of the high-end beauty salons in the London area. She explained it was her birthday and asked whether it was possible that they could fit her in to have her hair done and false nails applied, along with an eyebrow waxing and shaping, and makeup and ear piercing.

The woman behind the counter checked the appointment book and said, "You are in luck as we have a cancellation, meaning Jeanette, Nicole, and Imogene can take care of you," she added smiling over at Cin and said, "And since it is your birthday I can put you in for one of our package deals. Pay full price for your hair, nails, and makeup, and we'll do an ear piercing for half price." Cin nodded and smiled happily.

The lady turned towards the women who worked for her and added, "Acrylic nails, shape and paint them how she asks." Finally, she turned to Jeanette and said, "Finally, you Jeanette when you are done with Mrs. Jensen's perm and blow dry, you can do her hair, whatever she asks for," Nicole stepped forward, "I'll do her ear piercing before I apply any makeup," Nicole added, "And then I will do your nails, which will give them a chance to dry, less chance of them chipping or smudging before Jeanette does your hair," Cin smiled.

The lady at the counter turned towards Cin smiling, "Okay, sweetie, hand Amy your coat, and Imogene will take you into one of our treatment rooms," Cin followed Imogene into another room. Once inside she had Cin sit on the bed-like chaise and told her to get comfortable.

"We will pierce your ears for you, and then you can tell Nicole what you want to do with your nails," Cin slipped down from her perch on the edge of the bed-like chaise and followed Imogene out of the room and back into the main salon area. Imogene asked for her first and last name as well as her title, age, date of birth, address, and whether she was allergic to anything so she could fill out the necessary form before she pierced her ears. Once the form was completed and Cin signed her signature, she then pierced Cin's ears allowing Cin to choose a pair of sleepers; Cin chose the ones with the ruby. Her birthstone.

Cin barely winced at the slight sting she had felt, it was not too bad and she knew that it was nothing she could not handle. Honestly, it was purely laughable to consider comparing the sensation she had felt, knowing she had worse inflicted on her during Quidditch practice and matches when hit with a bludger, or having bones regrown. The beautician said when she finished piecing her other ear, "There you are that was not so bad was it." Cin replied, "Not really," Imogene had also explained how her ears would be a little red and tender for a couple of hours and that the sleepers had to stay in for six weeks before she could change them.

She explained how to take care of and keep the piecing healthy, such as cleaning them twice a day with cotton wool buds and the solution that the salon would provide and, that similar products could also be purchased at most chemists. Finally, she needed to carefully and gently twist the sleepers in her lobe once a day to make the holes bigger so that once she did take them out they would not close up easily or as quickly. Nicole gestured for her to come over to another corner of the salon so she could start on her nails, while Imogene went to gather and set up her cosmetic supplies. Nicole gestured for Cin to take a seat in the chair opposite her before she asked Cin to remove her rings.

"First, I'll have you dip your fingers in the solution to soften the skin around the cuticles, and I'll start by filing, shaping, and tidying up the nails and cuticles, but won't bother buffing and polishing your nails seeing as you are having acrylics," she concluded, "Are you sure you want the acrylic nails? Your nails are beautiful, sweetie," Nicole asked making Cin smile. "No. I don't do anything fake. Thank you," she said. "Okay, then I will buff and polish your nails after I take care of them. I need you to choose the color of polish you would like," Nicole said. Cin chose a French manicure with a shade of royal purple.

Nicole made Cin's cuticles neater and filed and tidied up her nails before painting them with a base coat followed by Cin's choice of polish using two coats of the color before finally applying a layer of clear topcoat to finish off. Once done she had Cin keep her hands in front of her down flat as they dried. Cin watched as the nail technician stood and cleared away the tools and polishes before she gestured for the others to come over and look at her completed manicure.

When the hairdresser came over, Cin explained that she did not want her hair washed as she had washed it that morning, she wanted it cut three or four inches so instead of her hair touching her tailbone, it would be in the middle of her back. She opted to have her hair put up in a braided bun hairstyle, knowing she did not want it curled, crimped, or anything else done to it.

Jeanette removed Cin's scrunchie and handed it to her before she ran a thick hairbrush through the long dark strands, and complimented her on how lovely it was. Once satisfied that there were no knots to contend with Jeanette gathered Cin's hair and braided it before taking the braid and twisting it around into a bun on top of Cin's head and secured it in place with hairgrips. Lastly, she arranged Cin's bangs over her forehead as she requested, but pinned any excessive strands behind her head, before finally spraying the hair with hairspray to keep it in place.

Once completed Jeanette directed her back over to Imogene who had her sit down on another high stool. Imogene complimented her on her new hairdo before she asked Cin to remove her glasses and then showed Cin the colors she had available. Cin not knowing anything about makeup except for what Lady Malfoy had told her during their previous meetings, told Imogene to do what she thought would suit Cin best.

Naturally, Imogene had been delighted at the thought of what she could do now she had been given permission to do what she thought best. Imogene chose a more dramatic make-up seeing as it was a special occasion with it being Cin's birthday, yet not overly dramatic not wanting to overdo it and make the final look gaudy and clownish. She eyed Cin's eyes without her glasses and marveled at the stunning shade of hazel and, instantly knew smokey eye shadow was the way to go with this client.

First, she evenly applied a primer base to Cin's face and forehead but avoided her eyes and lips to use the correct primers for those areas. As soon as she finished evenly covering the last of Cin's forehead, she applied another primer base to Cin's eyelids and then finally applied a primer base to her lips. Next, she used an applicator sponge evenly applying liquid foundation that complimented Cin's natural skin tone to her face, forehead, and her upper neck. She then took a powder brush and dusted the apples of her cheeks with a nude-colored blush, making her cheekbones appear higher and giving her a gentle yet subtle glow.

Next, she worked on her eyelids by first applying a skin-colored shadow from a pallet from the Urban Decay Smokey collection to the whole of her eyelid. She then dusted the lower part of the lid with the dark green shadow from the same pallet and took delight in blending the black shadow with the green as she skilfully blended it into the crease of the lid, creating a gorgeous smokey effect that made the hints of green of Cin's eyes look almost luminous.

To add even more definition she applied black liquid eyeliner flawlessly to her lower lids. She marveled as she coated Cin's eyelashes with the darkest black mascara she had, noting how Cin's lashes appeared impossibly long and full, making her feel slightly envious. To finish and complete the perfect and flawless smokey look she applied black eyeliner to the waterline before smudging it slightly and subtly blending in a small amount of the green shadow.

Once she was done with her eyes, she paused briefly to admire to work and the beauty of her client, especially the effect smokey colors had on her clients' amazing eyes. She then looked for a suitable shade to use on her lips, noticing how the client had ideal lips to create a perfect and full pout. Imogene knew a pale-colored and high-shine gloss would look incredible paired with the dark tone of the smokey eye makeup.

She told Cin, "These colors and brands of makeup look incredible with your eyes, might I suggest buying this brand of makeup," Cin asked, "What is it called?" Imogene replied, "It is called Urban Decay, and is new as the brand comes from an American company and only became available last year," Cin nodded and asked, "Where can I buy it?" Imogene replied, "It's only available online for the time being. I will write down the address for you once we're done here,"

Imogene finally decided on a pale and shimmering gloss in a shade called Nude, also a part of the Urban Decay collection. She squeezed some of the gloss out of the tube onto a lip brush and applied a neat layer of the gloss to first her lower lip and then her upper lip. She stepped back, resealed the tube of gloss, and placed the lip brush down before she smiled. She said, "I am glad you allowed me to decide to use what I thought suited you best. Green and black shadow blended into your lower lid does wonders with your amazing eyes," Imogene directed Cin to the nearest mirror and Cin put her glasses back on and looked into the mirror as soon as she could properly focus. She could not stifle a gasp of amazed delight as she realized the color of the eye shadow and the way it had been blended did amazing things to her eyes that even she was not aware was possible.

"I honestly had no idea it was possible to apply makeup like this, or my eyes stand out or quite like this," Imogene replied, "Your eyes are naturally an amazing shade of hazel with mixtures of green and gold, it just took the right shade of makeup and a certain way of applying it for you to notice just how beautiful they are. It all depends on using the correct coloring and technique to enhance and make the best of your eye color,"

Cin beamed once more at her reflection before she said, "Thank you it looks amazing," Imogene smiled gently, but inwardly she was cheering at a job well done, it was not often she received such appreciation from clients. She replied, "You're welcome and I was glad to do it, I had a lot of fun as usually, clients know what they want so it was a nice change to be able to show what kind of skill I have," Imogene led Cin back over to the till, while Amy went and retrieved her jacket and Imogene wrote the web address for the Urban Decay cosmetics down on one of the salons business cards and handed the card to Cin and said she hoped she came back again before she left with her next client who had been waiting. Amy returned and helped Cin into her jacket and complimented Cin on her done-up appearance.

"Okay, that will be forty-five pounds and seventy-five pence please," Cin counted out the correct change and even handed over an extra ten pounds, and told the woman to share it equally between the other three.

Cin knew she needed a muggle wardrobe seeing as she didn't want to risk exposing her home. She walked down the street to Sports, a shopping center a few blocks down from the salon. she purchased multiple pairs of sports bras and shorts, tracksuit bottoms, and matching hoodies and t-shirts in different colors. She also chose a sports bag and two pairs of trainers, one a running pair, that were white and silver and the other pair used for indoor activities that were purple and bronze colored. She chose several pairs of jeans, loving the fact they sold jeans and she was able to get them at a lower price than normal. Cin's next stop was Boots for toiletries. She purchased towels and tampons, Charlie deodorant, Lavender shampoo, and conditioner, vanilla body wash, lotions, and perfumes, along with Radox showers gels, and bubble baths. She remembered to put toothpaste, mouthwash dental floss, and a new toothbrush in the basket. Her other purchases included hair elastics in different colors, some had glitter on them, and even hair scrunches and grips and a hair brush.

The last and final store Cin entered catered strictly to females, such as clothing and other accessories. In there she spent £688 on jackets, jumpers, tops, t-shirts, blouses, dresses, skirts, dress pants, and jeans in different colors. She picked up five pairs of heels and some flats, along with a new ivory-colored coat and mocha-colored dressing gown that had white spots on it and a hood. She also purchased a new school bag, school shoes, and flat Mary Jane shoes.
