It was 7 days till Christmas and 6 days till Jack's birthday and Elizabeth was all back to normal. These past 4-5 days have been such a rollercoaster of emotions, she just wanted to take a day to herself. Bill gladly offered to take Jack for the day, and spend a day with his God-son. She wanted to take some time to write in her journal since she hasn't done it in a while.

I know it has been a while since I've written in here but I decided to take the time. These past few days have been quite a journey. I am super glad that I have decided to take the time for myself and just relax. Nathan and I went on a date 2 days ago, and we went to the cabin. I know it's surprising since our history there isn't great, but the date didn't go so well either. He decided it would be best to walk there, but I ended up getting a panic attack. I mean, shouldn't he know it was a bad idea? He is a mountie after all. He did feel really bad and apologized and I forgave him, so we are better now. Anyways, I also had the measles and passed out, but that is a story for a different time. Now, I am going to bake some banana bread and read some of The Valley Voice newspaper.

Talk soon

-Elizabeth T.

Elizabeth felt 10 times better after writing that. One of the reasons she loved writing is because she got to express her feelings on a piece of paper. That is also why she loved writing books.

After a couple minutes of her skimming through her journal and books, she decided it was time to make her banana bread. She knew that was "A Nathan and Elizabeth" dessert, but she just wanted to make some for herself. She absolutely loved to bake. It was one of her guilty pleasures. It was crazy to her that before she came to Hope Valley, she couldn't bake/cook anything and now she loves to do it.

She was about to put it in the oven when she heard a knock on the door. A very specific knock. Nathan's knock. She felt butterflies in her stomach which wasn't normal for her. When she opened the door she saw Nathan standing there with absolutely gorgeous flowers.

"Uh, hi. What are you doing here?" Elizabeth asked him. He chuckles and says, "Hi. I was on my rounds when I passed by a field with these flowers and thought I'd give you some. I hope you like them." For some reason, they were both shy around each other which wasn't normal for them. Nathan hands her the flowers and she puts them up to her nose to smell them.

"These are beautiful. They smell amazing." Nathan blushes. There was an awkward silence between the two of them which was a bit weird. "Um, would you like to come in?" Elizabeth holds the door open for him and he walks in.

He sat down on the sofa while Elizabeth put her banana bread in the oven. "Sorry for the mess in here, I haven't really been doing anything all day." Nathan chuckles. The truth was he didn't even really notice. He has been so used to being in her home he didn't even think about it.

"It's all good. What are you baking?"

"I am making banana bread. Would you like to stay over and have some?" She knew he had a sweet tooth. He made his "oh definitely" face and she chuckled. She walked over and sat next to him. He could tell that she wanted to lean onto him, so he motioned for her to, and she gladly did. He put his arm around her and she leaned her head onto his chest.

He had missed this. He felt like it has been a hot minute since he and Elizabeth have had some alone time together without it being all hectic. After a couple of minutes, the timer for the banana bread was done, so Elizabeth went to take it out. The banana bread aroma went all throughout the house. "Mmmm, that smells delightful."

"Yeah, it smells delicious. Would you like to have some now?"

"Yes please." She nodded and grabbed a knife to cut 2 pieces. She walked over and put the bread on the table. Nathan tries it and he says, "Oh my goodness, this tastes brilliant." Elizabeth blushes. He scarfes down his delicious treat and Elizabeth looked surprised.

"Wow! You must've been hungry. You finished that quick." He laughs and says, "Yeah, plus I need to get going. Allie is probably wondering where I am." He stands up and so does Elizabeth.

"Thanks for the banana bread. It tasted phenomenal." He grabbed the sides of her face and gave her a kiss. She blushed and combed her hands through his hair. "Your welcome Love." He nodded and walked out the door.

"Be safe." She loudly says as he starts walking towards his home.
