Chapter 19: Beware of the heir
Mount Justice; May 3rd 11:02 EST
The team was in the lounge, everyone had snacks and drinks and were watching the TV. they were having a movie marathon where everyone got to pick one to watch.
It was Joshua's turn and he picked 'The Legend of the Red Dragon'. They we're at the part we're Hwon and his group had met the rebel army when someone walked into the room.
Team, training was supposed begin thirty minutes ago, please explain why this error has occurred." Red Tornado asked from behind the couch everyone was sitting on.
"Shhhhhhh." Wally said, putting his finger up to tornadoes unmoving mouth without looking away from the screen.
"This is the good part." He said as they watch ally dart fight.
Tornado, being connected to the mountains servers remotely paused the movie, getting the teens to cry out in anger.
"Training is required and should not be skipped." "But it's our day off, we always train on our days off so we thought that instead we should actually relax for once?" Robin explained. Tornado stood there silent for a moment.
"Understandable. I apologize for my interruption, although he I do suggest that you should find a different way to spend the day, I am not the only one who believed that you should be training today." Tornado said as he walked away.
Wally grabbed the remote and play the movie while some of the others, mainly, Conner, M'gann, Joshua, Artemis, and Zatanna, we're all thinking the same thing. "Maybe we should do something else."
After the movie ended Artemis stood up and stretched. "Welp, I'm gonna take Tornado's advice and head out, see you guys later." She said as she walked off. She was soon joined by the others, all going out and doing their own thing.
Metropolis; May 3rd 12:46 EST
Joshua was walking down the street, wincing at the loud hustle and bustle of the city. "Yeah, I definitely don't like this place. It's way to loud." He said covering his ears and running down and ally to avoid the noise.
"I've been around louder stuff then this before, way is this having such a big effect on me?" he thought aloud right before he jumped into someone.
"Oh, sorry, I'm in a lot of pain right now so I wasn't watching where I was going." Joshua explained, leaning on a wall and not looking at the person he bumped into.
"it's alright my boy. You know, I can help ease your pain if you'd like?" the hooded man said, smirking at the off duty teen hero. "What?" Joshua asked, glancing at the man who pulled his hood down revealing Psimon.
"Psimon says sleep." He said, hitting Joshua with a psychic blast that made him fall to his knees. Joshua struggled to stay awake as Psimon continued attacking him.
"I guess I won't be enough then." Psimon said as he stopped his attack leaving Joshua panting on the ground. Psimon snapped his fingers and a figure dropped down behind the super clone. Joshua barely turned his head before the figure put a collar around his neck and hit him in the back of his head knocking him out.
"Well that's done. Good work." Psimon said to the figure who turned out to be Black Spider.
"It would've been more of a challenge if we didn't use that power dampening collar. So what do we do with him now." Black spider asked, heaving Joshua over his shoulder and following Psimon down the ally. "Now, we send him home." They put Joshua in the back of a van and drove off towards the airport.
Mount Justice; May 4th 04:13 EST
Joshua didn't come back last night, the rest of the team was worried and getting restless, they want to know what was going on ASAP, but right now they were waiting for someone from the league to come back and update them on the situation.
Everyone turned them focus to the Zeta tube when it powered on.

Black Canary 13
As the blonde heroine walked out of the Zeta tube the teen's ran up to the training circle, anxious to hear what Canary had to say.
Canary sighed s she pulled up a hollow screen that showed footage of Psimon getting onto a private jet while a flight attendant loaded a large cylindrical container into the cargo hold.
"What happened?" Artemis asked, crossing her arms in worry.
"We believe that Joshua was attacked while he was in Metropolis by Psimon." Security camera footage shows Joshua stumbling into an ally while holding his head in pain, it then showed a van driven by Psimon leaving said ally. "He was later seen at the Metropolis international Airport."
"So, where's he going?!" Raquel asked, getting irritated. Canary sighed then pulled up a world map that showed the planes flight path.
"We don't know, we lost track of the plane as soon as it left the airport." "Don't give us that bull crap!" Conner shouted stomping forward but got held back by Kaldur.
"We're doing everything we can to find him, you just have to have faith and patience, alright?" Canary said, closing the holoscreen.
M'gann was looking down at her feet, Zatanna put a hand on her shoulder and gave her a sympathetic smile. "We'll find him, don't worry." She said to the worried Martian. M'gann smiled back at her.
Unknown Location; May 3rd 11:23 CST
Joshua slowly opened his eyes, but then quickly closed them do to the light. He tried to move but was unable to because he was being restrained by power dampening clamps.
A man in a lab coat with gloves on was fiddling with something to the side. Joshua turned his head to the side and saw it was an IV that was pumping a strange yellow liquid into his arm.
"The sedative is working, it should be safe to come in ma'am." The scientist said then walked away.
The sound of heels hitting a metal floor echoed in the room as Queen Bee entered and stepped next to the restrained teen hero.
Queen Bee gave Joshua a smile and brought her hand up to touch her son's face, he tried to shift away from it but the restraints kept him in place. She caressed her son's cheek, ignoring his groans of protest.
"It's good to see you my son. I'm sorry about the restraints, but we didn't know what you would do when you woke up." Joshua glanced down at his restraints then back up at his villain mother. "Now that I have you here, we can begin fixing you." "There's nothing wrong with me." Joshua growled out, glaring at Queen Bee getting a chuckle from the women.
Queen Bee sighed when she finished laughing. "Well 'fixing' might not be the word, either way-"
She snapped her fingers and the scientist and Psimon came up behind Joshua. The scientist stuck electrodes to the sides of his head while Psimon said his line.
Joshua's screams of protest echoed through the room and down the hallway as Queen Bee walked away.
Mount Justice; May 5th 2:22 EST
The team was sitting in the training room, in costume, waiting for more news on Joshua. Artemis was flipping though channels on the holoscreen when the news came up, the current really caught her attention.
"Guys, you're going to want to see this!" She yelled out, everyone else quickly gathered around to watch the broadcast.
"This is Cat Grant reporting live from the Bialyan Royal Palace where the matriarch, Queen Bee has an important announcement to make, let's go to that now.
The camera then panned over to the palace entrance where Queen Bee walked out and up to a podium. Cameras flashed and reported pushed and shoved trying to be the first to asked the Queen a question.
Queen Bee raised her hand to silence the crowd and tapped the microphone.
"Greetings people of Bialya, today I have something wonderful to share with you all. Years ago I had a concived an heir to the throne, and today he will make his first ever public appearance. My I present to you my son, Prince Joshua."
She gestured to the palace doors, two guards opened the doors revealing Joshua in a white suit.
The teen heroes all gasped at the site of their missing friend. Rocket and Superboy clenched their fists in rage.
"Your majesty, Your majesty, Your majesty!" The reporters kept shouting, desperate to be picked so that they can ask their questions. Queen Bee pointed to one and they started.
"Your majesty, where has your son been all this time?" Queen Bee stepped back and allowed Joshua to step up to the podium.
"I was traveling the world for the last couple of years, sending most of my time in more private ares,but i am back now."
The reporters started shouting again and only stopped when Queen Bee picked another one to ask their question.
"What are your plans now that you're back home and have gone public with your identity?"
Before Joshua could answer, Queen Bee gestured him back and took over once more. "I plan to re-educate my son on how to be a proper heir, along with that i will be setting up and arranged political marriage with President Rumaan Harjavti's daughter, Noor Harjavti, in order to form an alliance between our two countries. Thank you for your time, but we must be going now."
The queen and her son turned and left, the reporters continued shouting questions as the two rentered the palace.
"Well There you have it folks, not only does Queen Bee have a son, but she plans to form an alliance with her neighbor, Qurac by playing matchmaker. How will it go, tune in soon to find out. Back or you Gordon." Cat Grant said as the feed cut to G. Gordon Godfreed.
Robin stepped up to the holoscreen and rewound the video. He took a picture of Joshua and put it on a second holoscreen next to another photo of him in his hero outfit.
"Look!" "What is it?" Miss Martian asked. "It's his eyes." He zoomed in on both photo's so that the others could see what he was talking about. "Joshua's eyes are brown, but on the broadcast they were gray."
The others looked at the photos and saw what Robin was talking about. "Does that mean that it's not really him or did they do something to him?" Kid Flash asked. "I believe that they have found a way to reactivate his programing from Cadmus and are using that to control him." Aqualad suggested.
"It doesn't matter, we finally know were he is and I for one am done waiting for the league to bring him back." Artemis shouted, turning around and walking towards the garage where the bioship was. She was being followed by Superboy, Rocket, and Miss Martian.
"Guys wait." "I'm sure that the league saw this to and will be here any minute to tell us their plan to get him back. We should just-" Kid and Robin said trying to stop them but they were cut off when Aqualad put a hand on both of their shoulders.
He gave them both a look that said 'don't bother'. The two sighed and joined the others.
The team was out of the cave just as Red Tornado, Black Canary, and Batman arrived.
"I told you we wouldn't make it." Canary said after the three searched the entire cave for the team and not finding them.
Al-Qawiyah; May 5th 07:15 CST
The bioship flew over the capital city in camouflage mode. "Alright, we all know the plan?" Aqualad asked the room. "Get in, get Joshua, get out." Superboy said while looking out the window. "Yes and no buddy." Wally said.
"We're going to sneak into the palace while Queen Bee is meeting with the Harjavti family to discuss the marriage contract." Robin explained.
"But wouldn't 'mommy dearest' want JJ to be at the meeting?" Rocket questioned. "No. Whatever Queen Bee did to him has to be temporary, Joshua's to tough to give into any kind of control just like that." Miss Martian says with conviction.
"We're here." Superboy said as they hovered above the palace. They all stood around the exit hole looking down and at the place that their friend was being held in. They all looked at eachother, determination and readiness burning in their eyes. Then… they jumped.
"President Rumaan, it's a pleaser to be meeting with you today." Queen Bee greeted. "Likewise your majesty. This is my brother, Sumaan, and my daughter, Noor." The president returned the greeting, gesturing to his family as he introduced them.
"Please have a seat so that we may discuss the terms of this alliance." "Should the prince be here for this?" "He has… other matters to attend to at the moment, but he will be joining us shortly." Unknown to the guests, The prince was currently getting a 'checkup'.
"How is he?' Psimon asked the scientist who was looking over the lab results. "The integration was successful, all we need to do is run some more tests." Psimon's eyes widened as he sensed something and grinned. "How about a field test."
The team had been searching for a while and have found nothing so far. This was starting to frustrate most of the young heroes.
"Argh, why can't we find Joshua?!" Rocket growled out, stomping her foot on the preteen carpet. "If we stay to long we'll cause an international incident and then we'll never get Joshua back." Artemis added with the same amount of venom.
"We just need to keep looking, we'll find him I'm sure of it." Robin said as they entered another room, the ballroom. The lights we're off and the team felt a little tried when they walked.
"Ugh, i can't see a thing, can someone get the lights?" Kid asked, putting a hand to his head. The lights then turned on. "thanks." "Of course." A new voice replied. Wally blinked, once, twice, thrice. Everyone got into battle stances and looked around for the source of the voice.
Clapping echoed through the room, the team looked to the stage and saw Psimon.
"Welcome children, I hope you enjoyed you viewing of the palace, but I'm afraid I'll have to ask you to leave." "How about you give us back our friend before we out you back in the hospital." Superboy threatened. Psimon just laughed.
"You want your friend so bad, well then here he is." Joshua stepped out from behind Psimon with a dull look in his eyes.
He was wore a black version of his suit from Cadmus with his symbol now blue. He jumped off the stage and stared at his friends.
"Psimon says attack." The villain ordered and Legend obeyed. He leped at the team, fist cocked back, he threw a puch at Robin. The boy wonder's eye widened as he saw the fist heading towards his face, kid pushed him out of the way and Legend's punch hit the floor, leaving a crater.
"Have fun kiddies, just be sure not to mess up his face, he needs to look good for the wedding after all." Psimon said with a chuckle and left the room.
"Miss M, Robin, Kid, Artemis, come with me. Superboy, Rocket, take care of Legend." Aqualad ordered over the mental link. All though they were hesitant, the others mentally nodded and split up.
"JJ, I know your in there, come on and wake up already." Rocket said, attempting to reach her brother within his own head. Legend's dull eyes narrowed, his frown turn to a snarl and he took a stance. Superboy's and Rocket's eyes widened when they saw his hands glow bright blue.
The two had to dodge as Legend shot plasma blasts at them.
"I thought he couldn't use all of his powers!" Rocket shouted as she threw a shield at him but he dodged. "Queen Bee must have gotten some more shield's from Lex, that mean we have an hour until it wears off." "Here hoping we last that long." Rocket said as she flew away from Legend who was flying after her with a plasma fist.
With Queen Bee.
"So, in exchange for our children being wed, there will be an immediate sic fire between all troops from both countries, a trade of military assets, and joint vote on all U.N. matters. Did I miss anything?" President Rumaan said recounting the terms of the deal Queen Bee offered.
"That is correct, but the deal will only be done when our children are officially married and have a child on the way." Queen Bee added.
Rumaan rubbed his beard and grumbled in his throat. He then held out his hand to shake, Queen Bee smiled and shook his hand.
"And with that the deal is done." Queen Bee said then ended the handshake. "If you don't mind, I like it if the soon to be husband and wife were to meet today if they can." "As would I, but my son has plans for the next few days and won't be able to do so. But I will arrange for them to meet as soon as possible." The matriarch then stood up followed by the President and his family.
"For now though, I wish you a safe trip home." She said as the guests were escorted out of the room, then the building, avoiding the ongoing battles in the process.
With the Team.
Psimon was running from Aqualad's group, using squads of guards and psychic blast to try and slow them down, but it wasn't helping much.
Artemis dropkicked a guard and shot an arrow at Psimon that flew passed his head and landed in front of him. When it hit the ground it exploded and a wall of foam that blocked Psimon's escape.
Miss M flew over to him in camouflage mode and entered him mind, the two then began to have a mental battle.
Aqualad and Robin were fighting three guards each, Aqualad used his waterbearer's in a hammer and a whip form while Robin used his escrima sticks. Artemis hit one guard with her bow then jumped and split kicked two others. After the guards were down the teens all gathered around Psimon.
"No more running, now tell us what you did to Legend and how to reverse it right now or else." Miss Martian demanded. Psimon chucked and sat up even though his arms were now restrained.
"And what part of that are you talking about?" "What do you mean by that?" Robin asked. "I mean we've done quite alot to the big guy, which thing do you want to kno about." Psimon said, laughing as the teens glared at him.
Artemis pulled out an arrow and pointed it at Psimon's eye, Aqualad formed one of his waterbearers into a sword and held it at His throat, Robin held three birdarang's in between his fingers, and Miss M's eyes glowed green.
"Oh my dear children, I've seen inside your minds, I know that none of you are willing to go that far."
The teens were quite for a moment before they withdrew their weapons. Miss M, out of frustration, started to dig deeper into Psimon's mind making him scream in pain. The others were frightened by this but didn't move to stop her.
In Psimon's mind, Miss M saw everything that they did to Legend. They put a power dampeners on him then electrocuted him while Psimon probed his mind to make him act the way he currently was. She then saw a team of doctors standing around an unconscious Legend, she saw them implant what looked like one of those shields into his chest.
In the real world, Miss M was growling as her eyes stopped glowing. Psimon fell to the ground, eyes rolled back in his head, drool dripping from his lips, and moaning in pain.
"Miss Martian, what did you do, what did you see?" Aqualad asked as he checked on the downed psychic. Miss M held her head as a tear rolled down her cheek.
"Miss M?" Robin asked as Artemis knelt down next to her fellow teammate. "We need to get back to the others right now!" "What, why?" Artemis asked. "Legend has all his powers now, he might kill them without knowing." The others eyes widened. Aqualad picked up Miss M bridal style as they all ran back to the others.
Rocket was panting as she wiped a mix of sweat and blood from her forehead. She looked up and saw Superboy and Legend fighting eachother.
The two super clones were going blow for blow, even though Legend had access to his full power Superboy was matching him.
This was the first time Superboy has ever seen a bruise on his body, it was getting harder to move his body but he ignored that and focused on defending himself. Legend's eye were still dull as he sent a barrage of punches at Superboy's head, Superboy blocked most of the blows and grabbed Legend by the waist.
Superboy pulled Legend close, wrapoef his arms around his waist and suplexed him into the floor making a crater.
Rocket made a barrier around the two, the impact from the two slamming eachother into the barrier was just making it stronger.
"Rocket!" Robin shouted as his group ran back into the room. "You need to get Superboy out of there right now." "What, why?" "Just do it!" "Argh, fine."
Legend Spartan kicked Superboy, expecting him to slam back into the barrier, but instead it opened up letting him out, Legend tried to fly out after him through the exist, but it closed as soon as Superboy was safely outside the barrier.
"Alright, now what?" Rocket asked as Legend continued to try and brake out of the barrier to no success.
"We need to knock him out and get him back to the cave, the league will know what to do from there." Artemis suggested. "We can't do that. Psimon gave him a mental command to rip the shield out of his chest if he leaves the palace without permission." Miss M said, still in shock from what she saw in Psimon's mind.
"Can't you fix that?" Superboy asked his girlfriend. "M-maybe." She mumbled. "We still need to knock him out before we do that." Robin said stepping up to the barrier.
"Rocket, I need a hole about this big." He held his hand up and put his fingers half an inch apart. Rocket nodded, the hole formed as and Robin held a special birdarang to it, it released a blue gas that quickly surrounded Legend. The rest of the team heard their friend grunting and coughing as he tried to fight against the toxin. Eventually the noises stopped, Rocket looked to Aqualad who nodded. She let down the barrier and the toxin immediately dissipated revealing an unconscious Legend on the ground. Everyone quickly crowded around their downed friend.
"Now what?" Conner asked, rubbing a bruise on his left cheek. "With Psimon down the only other person who could know how to reverse this would be Queen Bee." Aqualad said. "Great, I've got some choice words for her." Artemis said, cracking her knuckles.
"Easy She-ra, I'm pretty sure we can do this without putting the leader of a country in the I.C.U ." Kid said putting a hand on her shoulder which came her down slightly.
"We just need to find her okay, so let go." Robin said, grabbing one of Legend's arms while Kid grabbed the other.
Queen Bee sat on her throne, she knew exactly what was going on and was waiting for the teen heroes to come to her with her son.
She didn't have to wait long as Superboy kicked the door open and stopped in followed by the others.
"Hello children, what did you think of my palace?" "What did you do to Legend?!" Miss M shouted, shocking her teammates a little as she's usually not this aggressive. Queen Bee chuckled. "You don't need to worry Martian, I only need him to help finalize this alliance, after that you can have what's left of him."
The teens struggled to hold themselves and eachother back from attack the woman. As much as they wanted to beat her into paste for her words and actions they knew that if they did it could and would be a big problem. "Struck a nerve? I'm so sorry. it must really 'Sting'." She mocked.
Artemis smacked her shoulder, she looked at her palm and saw a crushed bee. The others began to do the same, soon a swarm of bees surrounded them, Kid and Robin even dropped Legend trying to fend off the insects.
"Miss Martian, call the bioship! Robin, give us an exist!" Aqualad ordered. Robin threw a couple birdarang's at the ceiling that exploded. The opening showed the Bioship floating above. Cables dropped down and the teens quickly grabbed a hold and escaped.
During all of this, Queen Bee just watched. After the team escaped and the swarm of bees Dispersed. An injured Psimon then stumbled into the room.
"My lady, why did you let them get away?" He asked as he made his way to the foot of her throne. "Because we've already taken what we need from him."
She snapped her fingers and a man in a suit walked up beside her holding a case. She took the case and open it. Inside were several small glass bottles filled with different samples of Legends DNA. Blood, sweat, tears, saliva, hair, even mucous, earwax, and sperm and hair.
"Are you going to make another clone?" Psimon asked, Queen Bee laughed. "Now why would I do that." Psimon gave a confused look while Queen Bee continued to laugh.
Mount Justice; May 5th 10:40 EST
Joshua's eyes slowly opened to see the ceiling of his room in the mountain, he sat up with a groan and put his hand to his head. He stood up and stumbled, he walked to the door but it opened up revealing Raquel who had brought a tray of food for him when he woke up.
Raquel's eye's widened and Joshua gave her a weak smile. "Hey sis." He said before his sister talked him to the ground in a hug, happy tears streaming down her face. The sound of the two hitting the ground drew the others attention, they ran to the room to see their newest teammate crying while hugging their other struggling teammate.
Joshua groaned as he reached out for a helping hand, but then screamed in horror as the others joined in the pile. "Feelin' the aster."
In a dark room, one of the Bialyan scientists who worked on Legend was typing on a computer, putting the final touches on his latest project.
"It's done." He said as he got up and stood in front of a metal pod in the middle of the room.
He pulled out a small remote control and pressed the big red button on it, opening the pod.
Inside the pod was another Legend, but this one wasn't a clone, It was different somehow.
"Awaken." The boys eyes opened, he stepped out of the pod and stood in front of the scientist.
"LG-03 online and fully operational." The now revealed Android said in Legend's voice making the scientist smile at his success.
"Did it work?" Queen Bee asked as she walked into the room. "Yes ma'am. We were able to Upload your orders and now he will follow the plan to the letter." "And the DNA samples?" "All fully integrated. It's as if he is you real son."
Queen Bee smiled and chucked a little looking at the android.
"I'll get my heir, one way or another."

This this is how Legend gets all his powers, it takes place a year after the last chapter and is and original idea I had been working on fo awhile, that's why it took so long for me to write it.
