Koda nervously followed his classmates into the room. When he saw the metal trays, the scalpels, and the tweezers, he bolted for the door. The door slammed shut in his face. He pounded on the door, signing at it to let him out, when he heard the cursed squeaking of wheels.

Aizawa rolled a metal cart into the room like a gurney. He lifted the lid, exposing a pile of dead frogs, and said, "Each of you, come get one. Do not make any incisions until I tell you to, and if you cut yourselves, I'm sending you straight to Recovery Girl."

The threat made Kaminari drop his scalpel. Tsuyu joined Koda at the door and said, "Do you think we should get a battering ram, kero?"

"If you wish to be excused," Aizawa said, "You may sign up for the human autopsy next week."

Tsuyu backed away. "Good luck, Koda-kun, kero."

Whining like a beaten dog, Koda slunk to his desk. As he worked up the courage to approach the gurney, he heard a loud crunch. Everyone turned to look at Tokoyami, who had frog legs sticking out of his beak. He crunched again, slurping the legs into his beak, and swallowed.

"What? I was hungry."

Aizawa sighed and plopped another frog on his desk. "There's one in every year. Try not to eat this one, that's my only spare."

Koda bore the limp frog with trembling hands to his desk. He watched everyone else nonchalantly slice into the frog's abdomen. Blinking a tear out of his eye, Koda pressed his scalpel against the frog.

The frog's eyes snapped open, and it let out a deafening shriek. "Cold! Cold, dark, there's nothing when you die, it was awful and cold and I miss Martha where are you Martha where are the tadpoles I don't want to die please-"

Aizawa's scalpel slammed through the frog's neck. Koda heard the frog whisper, "Cold" as it fell limp once more.

"Sorry about that," he said. "Must not have gassed that one long enough. Also, please retrieve your scalpel."

Koda found his scalpel lodged in Mineta's eye. He pulled it free with a sickening squelch and turned back to the frog. It stared up accusingly at him as he set the blade against its belly.

"I have removed all the tumors," Izuku said.

"And what did I say, Midoriya?" Aizawa asked.

"Not to make any incisions without your prior instruction. I made the requested incision vertically across its abdomen and no other. Per protocol, I removed the tumors and replaced all missing organs with synthetic components.

The frog, with glowing red eyes, mechanical skin, and pulsating machines in its chest, rose to its feet, unfurled machine gun arms, and croaked its defiance to the heavens. Before it could open fire, Bakugo swung his scalpel and severed the frog's head.

As its lights dimmed, Koda heard it croak, "Like tears… in the rain…"

"Sensei, that was an unauthorized cut."

"You're an unauthorized cut!"

Poor Koda doesn't deserve this kind of trauma. Mineta, on the other hand…
