Clyde blew it. He really blew it for Octavia. Thanks to his Nana Gayle having that aneurysm, he missed the whole show that Octavia invited him watch her perform. Now he didn't know what to do or understand how to repair this. Clyde never meant for any of this to happen in the first place.
"Look, Octavia, the reason was... my Nana, she..." he tried speaking but he suddenly felt... sleepy all of a sudden.
Octavia was looking for an answer that Clyde wanted to get out of his chest, but he was having trouble trying to finish his sentence by the look of how weak and tired he was looking.
"your... made me... do... a pact..." his voice began sounding groggy. "Stella... cursed me, Octavia... feeling... strange." He fell to his knees and collapsed on his belly, laying motionless.
"Clyde?" Octavia looked a little worried, but no response. "Clyde?" Still no answer from her human friend. Ultimately, Octavia got on her knees to feel a pulse. The result made her blood run cold. There was... no pulse. "Oh Satan. Oh Satan!"
The next thing she tried was giving him CPR by pushing her hands on his chest to revive him.
"Clyde! Stay with me! Don't die." She began pushing on his chest faster than before. "DON'T FUCKING DIE!"
Loona, Lincoln, and Stolas rushed up to Octavia's bedroom afterwards, hearing her screaming. "Sweetie, what's the matter?"
"Clyde's unresponsive!" She started to panic. "It's... it's like he's dead, I can't wake him up!"
"What?" Lincoln said in complete shock. He rushed over to his best friend's lifeless body.
"I checked for a pulse and nothing. I tried CPR, no answer!"
"How did this happen?" said Loona.
"Did... did you kill him?!" Lincoln accused the Goetia princess.
"WHAT?!" Octavia sounded deeply offended. "Why in Satan's name would I even kill him! I would never do that!"
"You could have at least talked it out with him, not doing something so evil as this!" The white-haired boy pointed at the princess
"Alright! Shut up!" Loona intervened. "Look, what exactly happened?"
"He, he said he was feeling strange like he was falling asleep, and he just collapsed on the floor like a newborn zebra. I tried reviving him by giving him CPR, but it didn't work!"
"Did he say anything before he went down?" Asked Stolas
"He said something about Stella cursing him or something. But who..." she gasped in realization and disbelief. She remembered that day when her mother wanted to have a "chat" with him. Clyde mustn't have told her because he didn't want her to worry. "Mother."
"What?" Stolas said in disbelief, then a great rage built up inside of him. He almost felt like transferring into his full-demon form again. "She is so a dead vulture walking." He gritted his teeth. "Figures my evil, venomous ex-wife had a hand in this. Come on."
"Where are we going?" Asked Loona?
"To Stella and Andrealphus' palace. I want to have a word with your mother, Via."
At the front door, Stolas was repeatedly ringing the doorbell over and over again until either his ex or her arrogant brother answered the door. Poor Lincoln was crying as his best friend was deceased and his corpse was being held by Octavia, herself feeling guilty. Loona was trying to provide comfort to her own two friends about all this as they were all waiting."
At last, the front door opened to reveal Stella with messy bed hair and her blue nightgown.
She was about to scream "What the fuck do you want?! Do you have any fucking idea what time it is?!" But then Stolas barged inside and grabbed her by the throat with his right hand, making her gag and choke.
"What the fuck happened to Clyde?! What have you done with him?!"
"Dad, wait! Stop!" Octavia tried to intervene. "Let her go!"
"What is all the commotion out-" Andrealphus came downstairs to see what was going on and gasped to see his own sister about to die. "Let me sister go! NOW!" He ordered
"You both have some explaining to do!" Stolas shouted
The peacock demon went into his full rage mode, Scaring Lincoln, Loona, and Octavia all at once
In a very deep, demonic voice, Andrealphus said: "release. My. Sister. NOW!"
"Just let her go, Stolas." Lincoln begged.
At last, very reluctant, Stolas immediately did just that, still looking infuriated. Gasping for breath and backing away. "What is the meaning of this?!" She screeched. Andrealphus turned back into his normal form.
"You should know, bitch!" Loona pointed her left finger at her.
"What did you do to Clyde?" Lincoln demanded
"Clyde?" Stella said, looking at the boy's lifeless body. "Oh... I guess he did break your heart after all, Octavia."
"What do you mean?" Said the daughter
"All I did was simple out the friendship pact on him to make sure he wouldn't hurt you."
"The friendship curse, of course." Stolas realized. "Why would you do that? Wait, you still wanted Clyde out of the picture because he is not rich like us, is that it?"
"Look, I tried to stop her from doing so, but she was persistent." Andrealphus tried to explain.
"And you were ok with it, Andrealphus?" Stolas pointed his finger at him, now. "you really are a cold-hearted arsehole through-and-through!"
"now you see here!" The icy Goetia sounded offended. "But never even wanted Stella to do this, but she threatened to destroy my palace if I didn't let her put the pact on poor Clyde. You know how scary she is."
"But you are supposed to be more controlling of her!" Octavia said. Turning back to Stella, she added, "mum, I can't believe you would do this. How can you do this to me?!"
"I was only thinking about you, Octavia." Stella replied.
"No, you were only thinking of yourself, you evil bitch!" Stolas corrected her rudely
"Up yours, you disgraceful excuse of a Goetia!"
"Stop fighting!" Loona had to intervene. "Look, arguing doesn't solve shit! It won't bring Clyde back." she looked sadly at Clyde's corpse. "I wish there was a way to bring him back."
"yeah. It's my fault." said Octavia. "It's all my fault."
"Don't say that, Via." Stolas reassured her before looking angry at his evil ex-wife again. "We all know who's to blame for this godawful event."
"Wait, isn't there a way to bring him back from the dead?" Lincoln asked. "Like... Stolas, you and your family is extremely powerful, maybe you can do something about it. Please!"
"No, no, no, no, no, no. I am terribly sorry Lincoln, but it is strictly against Hell Law for Goetias to participate or create anything in necromancy, reviving, or anything else related to bring a deceased person back to life."
"But, there has to be a way to bring him back. He's my best friend." Lincoln was about to cry just looking at his friend's deceased body. "What am i going to tell his dads? That he had a heart attack or had a bad asthma attack?" then he realized he still needed to tell Octavia what happened. "Look, Octavia. There's a reason why Clyde didn't come to your play. Because his Nana Gayle had a bad anyeurism from a blood clot in her brain."
"What?" Octavia looked shocked. "I... I didn't know. Fuck me! He tried to explain to me what happened but i wouldn't listen. Grr! I feel like a stupid cunt right now!" she let a few tears escape from her eyes in extreme guilt
"VIA!" Stolas sharply said. "Don't you ever say that about yourself! you are nothing like that. It's not your fault at all. We all know damn well who's to blame. If anyone is a stupid cunt, then it's-"
"Don't. You. Dare!" Andrealphus threatened "call my sister that horrific word."
"Please, is there anyone that can help me bring Clyde Back?" Lincoln asked again.
"Well... there cannot be any promises, but i know just the person that can help you. Hopefully." Stolas brainstormed. "Lord Lucifer!" he realized, "Yes, maybe he can help you." looking mad a Stella once more, he warned her: "I'll make a trophy out of your head after this is over, you witch!"
"You so much as lay one finger on my sister," Andrealphus grabbed Stolas' nightgown with his blue eyes glowing at him, "And you will be in for the FIGHT OF YOUR FUCKING LIFE!" he then let him go abruptly. "You see Via, even someone like Stolas knows that if a Goetia family members kills another Goetia family member. There would be consequences. Very dire consequences." he looked at Stolas in anger. "And your father will be... most infuriated if he found out. Not even you would be spared from his wrath."
"Oh, i cannot kill Stella, but it's ok for her to hire an imp to kill me?"
"What?" said Octavia in shock
"It's a long story, Via. I'll tell you later, but right now; we have to help Clyde."
"Right."
At Lucifer's Palace
Lucifer and Charlie were in their pajamas and looking a little tired since it's the middle of the night. Stolas had to explain everything to the King of Hell and help him understand the situation. Luckily, Andrealphus and Stella were back in the ice palace so they wouldn't fuck anything up, and because they just went back to bed. "look, i'm very sorry for what happened to him, Lincoln, but there's nothing that I can do. If i just bring someone back to life from Heaven, then it would cause some problems. There was already a war in Heaven before, and the last thing i want is another one to happen."
Lincoln looked desperate and felt like crying. "Look, your highness," said Loona. "I... I can't stand to see Lincoln like this. you have to do something."
"Look, there is nothing I-"
"Wait, daddy." Charlie intervened. "I know Sera and Emily. I can get them to get Clyde back."
"Honey, please don't get involved. The last time you went to Heaven, it... didn't go very well."
"Daddy, let me do this. please I'll be fine."
Looking very reluctant, Lucifer said: "Ah, fine. I guess there's no way to talk you out of this. You're like your mother after all."
"Ok Lincoln, come with me."
"Alright. Loona, you and Octavia stay with Clyde for when he wakes up."
"You're going there alone?" Asked the female hellhound
"Yep. But it won't be long. I'll get back here as soon as I can."
"Ok, but just be careful." Loona sounded uncertain about this, but let Lincoln do this anyway. "Come back here in one piece. I mean it."
"got it."
Charlie escorted Lincoln to the portal to heaven and when they both got in it, Lincoln was so astounded by how nice and clean it looked. It was definitely not like Heaven, that's for sure. Everyone was nicer and friendlier than the inhabitants of Hell would be like.
The inhabitants came in all shapes and sizes, but in a more pleasant way. Humans, animals, many kinds of angels form those species living a happy life.
Alas, Lincoln didn't have time to play tourist right now. He needed to save his best friend. The only question was: how is he going to find Clyde in this kind of place?
by happy mistake, there was Clyde walking down the street with a beautiful African-American woman with long, wavy hair. Was that... his mother?
"Clyde!" Lincoln ran up to hi. And gave him a hug. "Thank god I found you."
"Lincoln?" Said Clyde in disbelief. "How did you find me here?"
"I got here with a little help." He looked at Charlie.
"Oh, right. You're Lucifer's daughter." Clyde said to her
"Come on buddy, we got to get you home."
"What? But... my mom. I finally get to see her after all these years I was born." Clyde frowned. "I was finally getting to make up for lost time with my mom."
"But you didn't die naturally, Clyde." Lincoln said. "It was Stella's fault."
"I know, and shame on her."
"Clyde, you're my best friend. You didn't deserve to die like that."
"But... my mom."
"Pardon me, but, you are Lincoln, right?" Said Mrs McBride
"Yes."
"My son has told me a good deal about you, sweetie. How much of a great friend you are and how lucky he is to have you by his side."
"Aw, well." Lincoln flushed a little.
"Clyde, it's ok." Said Mrs. McBride. "Listen to your friend."
"But... I don't want to lose you again." Clyde felt like crying. He hugged her tightly.
"Ssssshhhhhhhh, it's ok, baby. You'll see me again when the time comes. And when it is your time to go, I'll be waiting up here for you."
Clyde was silent and realized that his own mother was right. He will see her again when the time is right for him to. "OK, mom." Said Clyde before breaking away. "You'll never forget about me, will you?"
"No. of course not. You are and will always be, my baby."
Charlie reminded her two friends, "I need to see approval from Sera first."
The three went to the heavenly palace, but not before Clyde said his goodbye to his deceased mother. There she was, with her sister Emily.
"Milady, please, let Clyde go. Bring him back to life. He didn't deserve the death he just got."
Sera looked unsure and replied: "you know I cannot go against the laws of Heaven. But... of course, you Lincoln, humiliated Adam in a painful way, and I cannot stand his pompous nature. So, for that, I will bring Clyde back to the mortal realm. But please be more careful, Clyde."
"absolutely, your highness." Clyde smiled.
After a little while, Clyde's body was still laying motionless with Octavia and Loon sitting next to him.
Suddenly, something miraculous happened. The boy was slowly opening his eyes and slowly sat up, feeling groggy. Octavia gasped and smiled with tears of joy. She immediately hugged him close to her like her own stuffed toy and she said: "Clyde! Oh I so glad you are Ok. You had me very worried about you." She broke the hug and looked away. "I am so so sorry about what I said. This is all my fault."
"No it wasn't." said Clyde. "It was not your fault."
"But it was." She wiped tears from her eyes.
"It's ok, Octavia. Really."
"How do you feel, buddy?" Asked Loona
"Like... like I woke up from a dream. And... it wasn't painful when I died. Yeah, it was like falling asleep, but faster. But... where's Lincoln?"
"Right here, Clyde." The white-haired boy walked with Lucifer's daughter, looking triumphant. Without warning, Loona picked him up and hugged him like her own little brother.
"You're alive!" Loona said in pure happiness, the female hellhound realized that she was being emotional and dropped Lincoln. "I mean, whatever."
"I'm so happy you are alright, Clyde. I can assure you that Stella will pay dearly for what she did."
"No, don't bother. You shouldn't stoop to her level." Clyde stopped him. "It's not worth it."
"He's... he's right, dad." Said Octavia. "After all, she's still my mother."
"Not to worry." Said Lucifer. "I will give her quite the talking-to. And it will be a painful grilling for her. And since she is your mother, Octavia, I won't kill her,"
"Thank you." She turned back to Clyde. "Can you ever forgive me for what happened?"
"Of course I do, Octavia. You are my friend and nothing will ever change that." He felt the princess hug him again.
Despite how crazy this night was, everything was sorted out and Lincoln and Clyde were back home, and snuck inside their houses to get back to bed. Luckily, their parents didn't realize they were gone for a while.
It was only one-forty-five and the boys still had a few hours of sleep left in the night. In Clyde's dream, he was dreaming of his mother, whom he was so glad to see after all these years.
The next morning, in Hell, Lincoln and Loona were sitting in her and Blitzo' apartment while Clyde and Octavia were with them too.
"So Loona, are you feeling alright?" Asked Lincoln.
"About the whole Blitzo thing? I'm fine. I just wanna forget about him for a while. And I'm just glad you're ok from getting out of heaven."
"Yeah it was a weird paradise."
"That's what a lot of people say." Octavia chuckled.
Getting in the fridge to get himself some orange juice, he felt a little guilty about getting Clyde out of Heaven like that because he finally got to formally meet his own mom, was still in the good part of the afterlife.
He paused, and rested his arms on the counter, looking guilty about it.
"What's wrong, Linc?" Asked Loona, noticing the boy's pouting.
"On, nothing." Lincoln replied
Loona did not look very convinced. "Remember what I told you about how I can smell when people are lying?"
"Right... ok, you got me." Lincoln sang. "Clyde saw his deceased mom up in heaven and I felt like I took that away from him."
"Oh come on, Lincoln. You had to get Clyde out of there. He has all the time in the world before he dies. Besides, he'll see her again when he dies."
"Yeah, his mom said the same thing in heaven."
"What matters is that you guys are safe." Loona knelt down to make better eye contact with him. "So be happy, be a kid, all that bullshit."
