Super tiny little drivels from Tumblr...

First Kiss

Set: Season 2, maybe after Sucker Punch but could probably slip in anywhere.

"I'm sorry that today reopened old wounds," he said softly as he lowered himself onto the edge of her bed.

She laid with her back to him, knees pulled to her chest, face buried in her tear-soaked pillow.

"Don't worry about it, Castle," she muttered. "Can't reopen what never actually healed."

She felt the mattress dip under his weight as he repositioned himself beside her. She glanced over her shoulder and scoffed.

"Make yourself comfortable," she grumbled.

"Do you need a hug?" he asked, ignoring her obvious displeasure at his presence in her space.

She rolled over fully intent on tearing into him, taking out her frustrations on him, but as she came face-to-face with him and saw the pure concern in his eyes, the anger she had been holding onto seemed to fade away and she found herself leaning into his body.

His arms wrapped around her, warm and secure. He held her for the longest time, rubbing his hand up and down her back, soothing her until her breath evened out and her tears dried.

Exhausted, she pulled her head from his chest and tilted it back to look at his face.

"Castle?"

He looked down at her. "Yeah?"

She craned her neck, brought her face closer to his. As her eyes fluttered shut, she softly brushed her lips against his in a sweet, chaste move.

"Thank you," she whispered. "For caring."

"Always."

Compliments

Set: season 5

He tells her she is beautiful, every single day.

It's not strictly physical, either. Sure, he appreciates her looks - she is what some may call genetically blessed - but when he talks of her beauty, he means her soul.

Her true beauty comes from her confidence, her kindness, her passion and her intelligence.

Her smile could light up even the darkest room.

Her laugh could warm even the coldest of hearts.

There was just something about her that he just couldn't explain. Everything she did simply took his breath away.

So he will continue to tell her that she is beautiful, every single day, hopefully for the rest of his life.

Staring in adoration

Set: Season 4

Saturday night at The Old Haunt, the gang gathered around their usual booth, listening to Castle sharing a rather animated retelling of a story from his youth.

She couldn't help but stare at Castle as he continued on with what she could only assume was a gross exaggeration of whatever had actually happened almost two decades ago. She might have been a little tipsy and, as a result, didn't seem to be able to control the adoration that oozed from her.

Castle looked over to her, stumbling over his words mid-sentence as he noticed her big, bright eyes fixed on him. The wine she had been drinking had left her with a hazed gloss in her eyes that made them look like they were sparkling.

He smiled at her and let out a slight huff of air, a laugh strangled by uncertainty. He wasn't quite sure how to proceed.

"Is there something in my teeth?" he asked, his voice low.

Beckett shook her head and her smile grew. "No."

"Are you okay?"

"Yeah," she said as she nodded. "Just... lost in thought, I guess."

His curiosity piqued: what could she possibly have been thinking about that had made her entire face light up that way?

"Care to share?"

He flashed her a wicked smile and she smirked, heat flushing her cheeks.

"No."

"Aw, come on!" he whined. "Please?"

She pursed her lips and shook her head. "Nope."

"Pretty please?"

Smiling; she sighed. "Fine. I was just think that, when you get all excited telling your stories, you're kind of... adorable."

He scoffed. "Adorable?"

"Yes, adorable," she said as she laughed at his apparent disgust.

"Puppies are adorable," he stated. "Babies are adorable. Grown men? Not adorable."

"I'm sorry, Castle," she said in a way that told him she was not even the slightest bit sorry. "I'll take it back if that will make you feel better."

He looked into her eyes, considering her offer. "No," he surrendered with a sigh.

She chuckled and placed her hand over his knee.

"Don't worry, Castle, it doesn't detract from your ruggedness," she teased.

He glared at her through the side of his eyes - she was having too much fun with this - and she hung her head back against the booth, holding his gaze.

"Sorry to interrupt this moment," Lanie spoke up. "But, uh, I was actually interested in that story..."
