Fight 63: Revenge
It was not long after dawn had broken at the Western Air Temple. Everyone was sleeping in a circle around the vestiges of the campfire. Appa though had spent the night near the fountain as usual given his fear of enclosed places. Aang had chosen to sleep with him this time and was on one of his furry legs. The avatar woke up with a smile as he yawned and stretched, enjoying the morning sun and watching the birds frolicking and bathing at the fountain. But then, the birds suddenly flew off in fright when a cylindrical object came flying into the room. On instinct, without even knowing what it was, the boy got up and twirled his glider, airbending the mysterious thing away. Good on him as it exploded when it hit the cliff. The noise startled everyone awake. More bombs were hurled at the Air Temple from below. Aang ran forward and saw three Fire Nation airships rising up from the clouds. A cannon fired, bombing a bridge. The monk retreated to the sleeping area and airbended a huge gust of air, closing the shutters. More projectiles exploded against the pillars.
The structure that had already been weakened by the assault a century ago and the erosion during the following hundred years – as well as Combustion Man's attack – shook and started crumbling. One of the pieces dislodged.
"Katara!" Chenlian yelled. Katara looked up but did not react in time. Chenlian wanted to help but she was too far away, and even if she blasted the rock with a fireball, if the fragments hit her friend's head or injured her, it would be extremely bad too. Fortunately, Zuko pushed her out of the way. They rolled and tumbled as the piece of concrete fell right where the girl had been. The young woman with mahogany hair placed a fist on her chest and exhaled in relief.
"What are you doing?!" The waterbender, though, responded to his saving her life with only anger.
"Keeping rocks from crushing you."
"Okay, I'm not crushed. You can get off me now." She quickly slid out from under Zuko without hiding her irritation.
"I'll take that as a thank you." The goodhearted yet sarcastic prince replied, taking no further offense. He stood up too as Haru and Toph earthbended an escape tunnel.
Everyone started evacuating. Aang was pulling on Appa's reins, having the hardest time directing him towards the tunnel. But then he noticed that the two firebenders had stayed behind and asked them what they were doing.
"Go ahead, I'll hold them off. You stay with them too, Chenlian. I think this is a family visit." Zuko instructed.
"No way. In case you've forgotten, my role is to monitor you. I can't leave you out of my sight. Besides, I don't think you're enough to deal with Azula AND those airships. More are certainly hiding down there." While it sounded like her usual mistrust and denigrating, an optimistic person could interpret that as her staying out of worry for his safety.
"As you wish." Although Zuko's reply was terse as there was no time to argue with her here, he could not help but feel a spark of joy. Whatever the reason, Chenlian was watching him, and they would be fighting together.
The two dashed towards the airships. The stunned airbender yelled at them to come back. The Water Tribe siblings joined him and helped him pull Appa. They HAD to get out of here quick! The Fire Nation nobles leaped over the crumpled portions and ran again. A bomb exploded near the prince who shielded himself and jumped out of the black smoke. He firebended at an aircraft, hitting the catwalk on the underside while the girl destroyed the cannon of another. But then, much closer, an observation stand rose from the white misty chasm... with Azula standing at the top, looking down at them, smiling crazily. Zuko asked what she was doing here.
"You mean it's not obvious yet? I'm about to celebrate becoming an only child!" She shot back, flipping over the railings and firebending at her brother with her feet. She flipped back to safety. Her fireball was so powerful Zuko had to run back but was still caught in the blast and sent tumbling as the whole area was covered in smoke. A pillar broke apart and collapsed, weakening the structure even more and causing fissures to appear in the ceiling and floor. Chenlian had safely taken flight. She decided to ignore Azula, leaving her to Zuko, and instead went after the airships. From the look of it, it didn't seem like Appa would agree to go through the tunnel. In that case, the only escape was to the sky, by passing the barrage of ships and fire. It was her job to make a path for them. And she also wanted to watch Zuko's fight against his sister.
She saw him dash across the bumpy unsteady floor, fireballs crashing all around him, and up a slowly falling pillar before launching himself off it. He kept shooting fire as he sailed through the air. One hit the observation stand but Azula had already jumped off and landed below. The Fire Lord's son reached the Fire Nation symbol on the ship's side and struggled to grab onto something and break his fall. He failed though, and disappeared in the clouds, shock and horror written on his face. The princess stood up and looked on.
Chenlian fired lightning at the propeller of an aircraft, blowing up not only the propeller, but also causing explosions inside, the metal having conducted the electricity. Like this, she methodically destroyed the ships' cannons and propulsion systems. Azula glared at her and also aimed her lightning and fire at her. However, she was only increasingly frustrated as the mahogany-haired girl dodged or parried all her attacks. What more, Chenlian never once retaliated and only gave her the bare minimum of attention.
"What?! Are you too scared to come close?! Or have you grown coldhearted?! Are you just going to sit back and silently watch me kill every person you ever came to love, destroy everything you ever tried to protect?!" The princess taunted, infuriated that the one she wanted to break more than anything would ignore her this much. Chenlian was not falling for it and kept focusing on her work.
Toph gritted her teeth, giving her best effort to prevent the inner room from collapsing on them. She was also holding in place the shield of rubble she had made to cover their evacuation as the fountain area had already fallen apart and into the abyss and Appa was still stubbornly refusing to enter the passage.
"I can't get him to go in there. Appa hates tunnels!" Aang cried. It was only natural that a flying bison that belonged to the open sky would have a fear of narrow, underground places... however, that placed them in a difficult spot.
"Aang, there's no way we can all fly out of here." Katara tried to reason.
"We'll have to find a way." The monk insisted, letting go of the reins. After all, given Appa's weight, and how much he resisted, there was simply no way three kids could do anything with their arm strength.
"We need to split up." Sokka found the solution. "Take the tunnel and get to the stolen airship." He told the group inside the tunnel. His sister though firmly rejected the idea, refusing to let the Fire Nation separate their family again.
"It'll be okay, it's not forever." Hakoda persuaded her, placing a comforting hand on her shoulder. She was still (obviously) reluctant, but gave in after a hug and having been asked to take care of Chenlian and she hurried back to Appa. The father and son hugged too before Sokka took Suki's hand and the couple ran back to the bison, waterbender and airbender. And so, Chit Sang, Hakoda, Haru, Teo and The Duke escaped through the tunnel.
Katara, who was already in the saddle, helped Suki and her brother up. The avatar took his usual place on Appa's head. Toph earthbended herself onto the animal. Suki was worried since there was an awful lot of fire in that general direction, but there was no other way. The Water Tribe siblings reassured her. Chenlian could not be lumped together with those common soldiers. She should be returning their fire ten times over. The path was likely free. The pile of debris and rocks was thrown apart as Appa flew off. However, Toph maintained an earthen shield in front of them. Azula saw them and fired the moment they got close but the shield successfully blocked her assault. The bison charged but she ducked under it. Once at a safe distance, the rocky cover crumbled. She turned to the airship rising behind her. Her brother was standing there, fixing her with a determined gaze. The escapees watched him anxiously. As Sokka and Katara had so confidently imagined, the three other airships were already smoking and starting to sink, meaning Chenlian was perfectly fine.
Zuko ran and propelled himself through the air again. Azula firebended at him but he still managed to kick the flame aside and retaliate. She somersaulted backwards to avoid the flame. Zuko safely landed on the ship and steadily advanced towards her while shooting fire. She dodged or dissipated his attack. Likewise, he parried all her fiery blows and countered.
Appa and his riders were safe from the busy Azula, but even as their ships were sinking, Fire Nation soldiers gathered on the catwalks to send fireball upon fireball. At this point, it was not stubbornness but craziness. Aang tried his best to maneuver between the projectiles, dodging as many as possible, while Katara used the water from her pouch to douse any that came close to the saddle. Chenlian flew over, twirled and with the power and speed gained by the rotation, bended a huge arch that blocked and absorbed the enemy fire. She made another that knocked out the men. She had strongly considered simply severing the catwalk and letting them fall, but then she certainly would have had an earful from an all-too-goodhearted monk and she did not want to deal with his sad gray eyes. When the coast was clear, she joined up with her friends on the saddle. Azula was relentlessly hurling fire at her brother but he dispelled everything by swatting his arms and kept advancing towards her. Once he was close enough, the siblings both went for a fire-enhanced punch. Their fists collided, causing a huge explosion that blew them backwards... so far they both fell off the ship. The escapees who had stayed around approached Zuko. Katara and Chenlian pulled him into the saddle. The group looked back at Azula who was still falling freely, spinning around.
"She's... not going to make it...?" Zuko pondered.
"Who do you think you're talking about?" The amber-eyed girl spoke like he was an idiot as the princess removed her hairpin, and firebended with her feet to move towards the cliff. Upon reaching it, she dug her hair piece into the rocks and skidded down, slowing her descent to a stop.
"...Of course she did."
"Well, duh." As expected of Azula. The two firebenders turned away from her but the others still glared at her until the end. Azula too was smirking back at them.
The gang set up camp along the coast of the Earth Kingdom, on a grassy cliff with large rocks jutting out. Night had fallen and they were sitting around the campfire, with Appa sleeping nearby.
"Wow, camping. It really seems like old times again, doesn't it?" Aang commented.
"If you really want to feel like old times, I could, uhh... chase you around while trying to capture you." Zuko jokingly suggested. They all laughed, all but Katara who merely uttered a dry "Haha", looking down. And Chenlian as well, who was merely smiling cynically.
"In that case I could send you packing like back then too... straight back to the Fire Lord... how about I tie you up with a cute ribbon this time?" It sounded like the female firebending teacher was in on the fun too... except that her eyes were dead serious. An uncomfortable silence settled. Only Katara smiled too, apparently quite fond of the idea.
"To Zuko." Sokka chose to ignore the awkward mood, or rather, break it, and raised his cup. "Who knew after all those times he tried to snuff us out, today, he would be our hero." Following his example, Toph, Aang and Suki also raised their cups. Only Katara and Chenlian did not. Toph and Aang even nudged him.
"I'm touched. I don't deserve this." The prince smiled warmly.
"Yeah, no kidding." The Water Tribe girl glared at him, stood up, and walked away.
"What's with her?" Sokka raised an eyebrow. Zuko wished he knew. He stood up too and also walked off. "What's with him?" The ponytailed youth wondered again.
"Isn't it obvious? Not everyone is as naively quick to forget, forgive, and trust as you guys are. Besides, you never actually experienced his betrayal. To you, he's been just an enemy until now. But it's different for Katara and I. We believed in him. We trusted him, just like you trust him now... yet that still happened." Chenlian icily reminded them before leaving too. She did not see those she left behind sadly lowering their eyes.
The scarred young man joined Katara who was sitting on a rock near the edge of the cliff. However, when she noticed him, she tried to leave, refusing to be in his presence.
"This isn't fair. Everyone else seems to trust me now. What is it with you?" He questioned her quite directly.
"Oh, everyone trust you now? I used to trust you long before them, remember? Back in Ba Sing Se. And before that, there was Chenlian, right? Because she trusted you, I thought I could believe in you too. And you turned around and betrayed her! Betrayed me! Betrayed all of us!" She snapped, turning back to him and placing a hand on her chest and also gesturing towards the camp. The Fire Lord's son closed his eyes with a guilty expression.
"What can I do to make it up to you?" He then looked straight at her.
"You really want to know?" The waterbender walked towards him. "Hmm, maybe you could re-conquer Ba Sing Se in the name of the Earth King. You could get away from Chenlian so that you don't hurt her ever again. Or... I know. You could bring her parents and my mother back." She fiercely glared at him, right to his face, before returning to camp. Zuko looked back sadly.
After a time, Zuko also headed back. But then, he jumped, startled, and gasped, surprised to see someone right there, leaning against a rock, her arms crossed.
"Chenlian..." He spoke her name. She had obviously overheard everything.
"... I can't believe you had the nerve and shamelessness to blame her... Geez, what do you mean 'this isn't fair'? Have you already forgotten... or have you learned nothing? If the world was fair, the Fire Nation wouldn't have one-sidedly annihilated the Air Nomads and brought the Southern Water Tribe and Earth Kingdom to their knees, right? Over the last hundred years countless lives were taken, countless families broken, countless homes destroyed... because of your ancestors' and your family's megalomania You can't return them, you can't save them... Yet you still whine like some spoiled child?" Her cold dispassionate tone made her rebuke all the more biting. She recalled having reproached him in awfully similar ways when he used to visit her prison cell to complain about how coldly she treated him, how she should have chosen him, or just blaming her for everything, be it her own suffering or his. He truly did not seem to have matured all that much since that time.
Were you not supposed to have changed? Is that what you wanted to show me, how you back your claim? Zuko faltered under her disappointed eyes. He had no room to protest. And then, a bone-chilling smile curved her full red lips.
"And you, who chose to sacrifice the world, and the people who loved you, for your own happiness are also a proud member of that family, are you not? Aang, the Avatar, and her precious friend, was almost killed, and the world nearly fell to his doom. Did you think such sins could be amended so easily? The reason those guys accepted you is because of their hopeless naivety."
"And I am here to atone for those sins. I can't undo the past, but I will do anything for a better future. So, will you help me?" The prince stood before her, facing her without averting his eyes. Despite his firmness, his voice and gaze were so soft, and so earnest.
"Are you still waiting for answers to fall straight onto your lap? Think for yourself about what you must and can do, and act."
"...You're right. I won't ask you to help me. This is something I must do, to prove myself... to her... and to you." The young man put his hands on Chenlian's cheeks, keeping her face in place, locking eyes with her. "So when I've figured out what I should do, you must come with me. You said you'd watch me. So don't leave my side, and keep watching me." His thumbs caressed her cheeks. Then he let go and they returned to the camp.
However, in order to make a decision, Zuko first had to know more. He let Chenlian return to her own tent to rest and headed towards the tent of the one who could provide him the information he needed... that was Sokka's tent. He almost bumped into Suki right after passing a huge rock. He had not noticed her glancing around warily as she moved in the same direction. Nor had she seen him either.
"Oops, wrong tent." The Kyoshi Warrior raised her arms, blushing, and looking exceptionally stiff. She turned around and started leaving.
"Sorry. Do you need to talk to Sokka too?" He motioned for her to go first if she so wished.
"Nope. Not me." Still blushing, she moved her arms in a 'no' gesture and left.
Since she had gone, Zuko went into the tent, choosing to ignore her suspicious behavior. His face dropped when his eyes fell on Sokka's pose. The tent's owner was lying on his stomach on a mat surrounded by candles with a bunch of red roses hung above him and another rose in his mouth. The atmosphere would have been quite romantic if Sokka did not ruin it somewhat with his pose. Still, he had put in the effort to seduce his woman and earn her favors...
"Well, hellooo." The young Water Tribe man turned his head to the new comer... who was obviously and unfortunately not the cute lady he had been expecting, to his great shock. His blue eyes widened like saucers before hiding the rose inside his mouth and coolly sitting up. "Uh, Zuko. Yes, why would I be expecting any one different?" He chewed and swallowed the flower with a pained expression and coughed out some petals. "So what's on your mind?"
"Your sister, she hates me and I don't know why. But I do care what she thinks of me."
"Nah, she doesn't hate you. Katara doesn't hate anyone... Except maybe some people in the Fire Nation." But then he realized what his words could imply. "No, I mean, uh, not people who are good but used to be bad... I mean, bad people. Fire Nation people who are so bad, who have never been good and probably won't be ever!" He gesticulated.
"Stop. Okay, listen. I know this may seem out of nowhere, but I want you to tell me what happened to your mother."
"What? Why would you want to know that?" Sokka was stunned.
"Katara mentioned it before when we were imprisoned together in Ba Sing Se and again just now when she was yelling at me. I think somehow... she's connected her anger about that to her anger at me." Zuko explained.
"It's not a day I like to remember." The Water Tribe Warrior looked down sadly, but nonetheless started telling him about the past...
Katara and Sokka had been just small kids, having a snowball fight as often, when black snow fell down on the village, causing everyone to look up anxiously. Many of the warriors had seen the black snow before and they knew what it meant... a Fire Nation raid. The warriors, including Hakoda, took their weapons and went to fight them off while Katara went to find their mother. The Fire Nation soldiers and Water Tribe warriors faced each other, Sokka too had attempted to participate in whatever (tiny) capacity he had, but the firebenders badly outnumbered them. Still, somehow, the warriors managed to drive them off. Or so they had thought. He had been so relieved because he didn't know what had happened... that they had lost their mother. The soldiers had left so quickly not because they had been driven away, but because they had already accomplished their goal.
"Wait. Can you remember any details about the soldiers who raided your village? Like, what the lead ship looked like?"
"Yeah... Sea Ravens. The main ship had flags with Sea Ravens on them."
"The symbol of the Southern Raiders... Thanks, Sokka."
"No problem. Thanks for stopping by." Sokka wrapped an arm around Zuko's shoulders, shoved him out and sighed. "Thought he'd never leave." He murmured. Then, his face broke into a hopeful grin as he rubbed his hands together and pushed the tent opening aside. "Suki." He called in a low voice. However, Zuko was still there, just outside, and was staring at him. Sokka saw him and whistled as he innocently retreated back into his tent. The firebender left.
The prince went to Chenlian's tent. He called her from outside and entered after she gave him permission. She tended to react violently to intruders after all, although not as much as him. He had once tried to shake her awake at the Western Air Temple, only to find himself pinned to the floor with a fire dagger at his neck. Zuko recounted what he had just learned to her. The girl quickly guessed his aim. He intended to help Katara get revenge.
She exhaled and closed her eyes, deep in thought. Chenlian was conflicted. She knew very well what it felt like to be consumed by your desire for revenge. While her hatred had not disappeared, she no longer felt the need to exact revenge against Ozai... or more like, she had come to understand how pointless it would be. Someone who felt no love could never know the pain of losing someone precious. She had understood that more than his death she had wanted him to understand and deeply feel this pain. However, it was impossible. Likewise, it was impossible for her to forgive him. She had then understood that Ozai could only feel superior by exercising influence on others, exploiting them, degrading them, ruling through fear... because he was actually incredibly small. That was why he sought to rule the world, and why the best way to defeat him was to deny him his influence, his existence.
But even if the person was to understand, that pain, those raging feelings didn't just vanish. Even now, just seeing the man sitting in front of her was painful. She'd recall all those sweet memories, like poisonous honey corroding her from within. No matter how much she tried to rationalize everything and rise above it, she still couldn't help but feel betrayed, abandoned, miserable, wretched, foolish. When it hurt so much, it was not surprising to feel, to hope that the pain would disappear if the man who caused it disappeared. Even if you knew deep down it would not change a thing. She still resented Ozai and Zuko. But she would not kill them unless necessary. Zuko truly seemed to have changed for the better. He sincerely repented, worked hard, risked himself for everyone's sake, and his love for her seemed to be genuine too. Yet her wounds were still there. Was she the bad one for not trusting, forgiving, and accepting him back despite his sincerity?
Then what about Katara? Would she get caught in the whirlpool of hatred and revenge and lose herself? Was that a risk she was willing to take at this time? Should she believe in Katara, that she would not kill that man? Not like she had a say in it. Each person coped with loss, with their feelings differently. If that was what Katara needed, then Chenlian did not care what happened to that person. But then again, she felt that should Katara elect to kill him, that choice would have significance for her too. It was not just Zuko she needed to watch. She wanted, needed to see for herself what Katara would do when confronted with that man, and with her own feelings. The orphaned bender already knew there were things it was impossible to forgive. Now, she wanted to know... would Katara be able to endure or not? Was there even a need to endure? How were things going to change following her decision?
She opened her eyes and stared straight back at Zuko with determined eyes.
In the morning, Katara came out of her tent, frowning as soon as she set eyes on what was waiting for her... that was Zuko sitting on a rock. He looked up sleepily.
"You look terrible." She commented, otherwise ignoring him and rummaging through her bag. Chenlian was warming the dinner's leftovers for breakfast. She added a few things before standing up and walking towards them. She stopped a distance away and observed the exchange.
"I waited out here all night." He stood up, rubbing his eyes. Her back to him, Katara proceeded to comb her hair, asking what he wanted. "I know who killed your Mother." Zuko declared. Her eyes wide, she stopped combing. "I'm going to help you find him." He informed her. As she turned to him, her shock hardened into a harsh expression.
"So you will go?" Although she had phrased it like a question, the female firebender already knew the answer.
"...Chenlian... you want stop me?"
"No. I want to see what YOU, who's usually the one stopping others in those situations, will do. I don't think I have the right to stop you. But I don't think that man's life is worth much either. I can only say that, from my experience, the people who commit atrocities are often disappointingly and pathetically insignificant. If killing him will truly make you feel better, okay. But I'm not entirely sure killing that person is what you truly need and will be worth staining your hands either. I want to come because I want to know. There are things I want to see, to confirm with my own eyes. In any case, I do believe you should confront that man, and your feelings."
Some time later, Katara, Chenlian and Zuko passed by Sokka who was crouching down and fiddling with a necklace of flowers (no doubt intending to gift it to his girlfriend) and went to Aang who was petting his furry friend.
"I need to borrow Appa." The waterbender said.
"Why? Is it your turn to take a little field trip with Zuko and Chenlian?"
"Yes, it is." She curtly replied to his joke. Her tone stunned him and he asked what was going on. "We're going to find the man who took my mother from me." She announced. Her surprised brother placed the necklace on the ground and stood up.
"Sokka told me the story of what happened. I know who did it. And I know how to find him." Zuko explained.
"Umm... and what exactly do you think this would accomplish?" The avatar questioned. Katara sighed and shook her head. She knew he wouldn't understand. But the monk stopped her as she began walking away. "Wait, stop, I do understand. You're feeling unbelievable pain and rage. How do you think I felt about the sandbenders when they stole Appa? How do you think I felt about the Fire Nation when I found out what happened to my people?"
"She needs this, Aang. This is about getting closure and justice." Zuko supported the bereaved blue-eyed girl.
"I don't think so. I think it's about getting revenge."
"Fine! Maybe it is." She admitted in anger and frustration. "Maybe that's what I need. Maybe that's what he deserves."
"Katara, you sound like Jet."
"It's not the same. Jet attacked the innocent. This man, he's a monster." The waterbender defended herself.
"Katara, she was my mother too. But I think Aang might be right." Sokka, speaking for the first time, sided with the avatar.
"Then you didn't love her the way I did."
"Katara...!" Certainly rage and pain could make you say things you did not mean, but that was too much and the shock rendered him speechless.
"The monks used to say that revenge is like a two-headed ratviper. While you watch your enemy go down, you're being poisoned yourself."
"That's cute. But this isn't air temple pre-school. It's the real world."
"Now that I know he's out there, now that I know we could find him, I feel like I have no choice."
"Katara, you do have a choice. Forgiveness."
"That's the same as doing nothing!" The Fire Nation prince argued.
"No it's not." Aang shook his head. "It's easy to do nothing. But it's hard to forgive."
"It's not just hard, it's impossible." She looked on darkly and walked away, soon followed by Zuko.
"What's wrong with you, Chenlian?! Why aren't you saying anything?! I thought you knew better than anyone that revenge was not the answer!" The Avatar blamed her.
"Different people may need different answers. Also doing nothing is impossible. You might forgive if you're a saint, you can get revenge... or you can endure, whether for yourself, a goal, the people you love, if you have something more important than revenge... But doing nothing, closing your eyes, shutting up and just going on with your life as if nothing happened... that is impossible. And rather than just rotting from the inside from doing nothing, I believe she needs to face that man and herself as well. Whether she really kills him or not, that is her choice. And I need to see it. You also have a choice Aang, whether you will believe in her, or not."
This night, Katara, Chenlian and Zuko got ready for their 'outing' next to the flying bison. They donned their outfits for covert operations above their usual clothes and the waterbender tied her hair in a simple ponytail. Aang and Sokka had expected something like this and spied her from behind a rock. They glanced at each other before going to her.
"So you were just going to take Appa anyway?" Aang questioned.
"Yes."
"It's okay, because I forgive you." He closed his eyes before smiling hopefully at her. "That gives you any ideas?"
"Don't try to stop us." The Water Tribe girl warned. However, Aang had already understood that this was a journey she needed to take, that she needed to face this man, so he was no longer planning on stopping her. Katara nodded and climbed on Appa's head. Still, the boy hoped that when she met this man, she would not choose revenge; she would let your anger out and then let it go. And she would forgive him.
"Okay, we'll be sure to do that guru-goody-goody." Zuko rolled his eyes and humored him, clearly tired of the preaching, and threw his bag on the saddle before climbing on too. He held out his hand to Chenlian but she ignored him and got onto the saddle on her own. Katara thanked the monk for his understanding, and the bison departed upon her injunction.
"You know, you're pretty wise for a kid." Sokka commented. Aang thanked him. "Usually it's annoying but right now, I'm just impressed." He spoke all too honestly.
"I appreciate that." Aang merely narrowed his eyes and decided against commenting on the 'annoying' part.
"So... can I borrow Momo for a week?"
"Why do you need Momo?" The monk quickly turned to his friend who just shrugged. Apparently Sokka had only wanted to test his reaction, or perhaps mess with him... something along those lines.
Author's note: next, 'Fight 63: Forgiveness' will be updated tomorrow... with Chenlian finally giving in! Yup, those two getting back together, this will be your end-of-the-year present ! Along with this double release lol.
