Childhood Memories

They were best friends as kids

but decided to take different paths.

But life wanted them together.

Chapter 6: Acceptance

At first, Hinata didn't think anything was wrong when Sasuke didn't text her back, pick up the phone, or be home when she decided to stop by. Knowing him, he just needed space, so it was common for her to give him that until he was ready, so he sought her out. But when almost a month passed and there were no signs of Sasuke, she knew she needed to be worried.

At school, he ignored her when she called after him, and the last straw was when she went to their place and found him with an unknown girl on his lap. The look he had given her was dismissive, almost uninterested look. The one that told her that she was not interested in her at all, and he was bothering him

After that Hinata promised she was not going to approach him anymore unless he did so, having felt too hurt about his attitude.

Sasuke on the other hand felt regretful instantly. Hinata didn't deserve that, she has never bothered him in any way. Well, only when she decided to date that ghost, but still she could date whomever she wanted to, it's just... he hung his head in disappointment. There were some feelings that he was not ready to face. It was not fair to Hinata to make her feel that way, she had never been a bad friend.

He had.

One night he decided to go and talk to her. To apologize, to somehow return to the track they were on, even a part of him was hoping to tell her that the girl she saw him with was no one, and maybe just maybe he would confess that his feelings for her were not of a friend only.

He had a lot to lose, but losing Hinata was a major loss in comparison. But when he went to see her, he was met with a romantic scene, Toneri was holding Hinata and the way she grabbed onto him while they kissed told him everything he needed to know,

Hinata was happy, and in love, there was no space for his feelings. So he decided to let it go, let her go. He would not stand for to her be happy with someone else. It was selfish of him, he knew, but he'd rather let her be happy.

Without him there.

A fair trade.

Making his resolution a reality. He turned around, his eyes itching.
