A Cozy BAU Christmas-Ch 1
The rest of November had gone by fast with the team being called away on a case first thing Monday morning not long after they had started their work day, they were wheels up by 10 that morning and by 1:30 Penelope had found enough information to get them started searching for the unsub.
Payton and Parker hit the ground running with the rest of the team as they all searched for the arsonist that was focusing on destroying churches within a Fort Worth Texas, population 954,457 all of the inhabitants were unsuspecting and had no idea of who in their community would do such a thing, especially since Thanksgiving was only a few days ago.
Penelope was going over everything she could think of trying to narrow down who the arsonist might be but so far she was coming up with nothing that would help her team of crime fighters, nothing at all.
She was deep diving and looking into the people that had been killed in these churches to try to see if they had anything in common and so far all that she was able to find was that they were clustered together at their churches.
When she looked further into their lives she found out that several people had been involved in a large settlement involving a massive train derailment and all but 3 of the people in the settlement had been killed in the recent fires.
So it was up to her to find the remaining 3 people so that the BAU could hopefully save them from being killed too and it took her almost a full week to locate all 3 people because they had all gone into hiding and couldn't be found but she channeled her inner black queen and found them.
After she was able to tind them it took the team about 3 hours to find the unsub, arrest him and put out a fire that he had set while trying to kill the final 3 survivors, soon Penelope was getting her call from her hotstuff to let her know that they were wheels up and be home in a few hours.
They had all agreed to meet at Dave and Frans for a family dinner to celebrate them catching their unsub and so they could also get caught up on anything they had missed over the past week.
As soon as Derek and the team arrived at Casa Rossi, he walked straight over to his girl, pulled her into his arms, kissed her passionately as the family watched on, when they pulled apart Derek said, "I love you", she said, "I love you too" as they clung to each other, neither wanting to let go.
A few minutes later they were all sitting around the Rossi table eating, laughing and talking as they got caught up on everything that they had missed over the week that the team had been gone.
As Penelope looked around at her family she couldn't help but smile knowing that her family had all made it home safe and sound to her and she was now and would forever be thankful for that.
