Days after the meeting at Undercity…
Anduin looked around as the right hand to the Banshee Queen, Nathanos led him and two of his guards into the inner sanctum of the Forsaken.
He was thankful that the Gnomes crafted special Hazmat suits to prevent the toxic material from affecting them and make them look presentable. Despite the dangers of the poisons and toxic substances, Undercity was a charming place, a peaceful place for those who cannot find rest, yet. The people were friendly, the culture was divine, and their areas were quite lively, no pun intended. Even its monster was a sweet little thing. Anduin was pleased to be given the chance to feed it. Anduin laughed a little as the creature purred at him like it was a sweet kitty cat with tentacles.
"As much fun as it is to watch you feed our beast and treat it as a pet, my Queen is expecting you at this moment." Nathanos Blightcaller informed the king.
"Your majesty, we should be going. It is not the safest to be out in this… environment." One of the guards advised as the king gave a cute pout, which was the oddest thing for a king to do, but Anduin was no ordinary king.
"Farewell, my friend. Maybe when next we meet, I can sneak you a biscuit." Anduin smiled through his mask and helmet before giving one last pet.
"Honestly, your highness, you must think more of your health before you give the entire fraction grey hairs. Your reckless kindness will age us all." The other guard advised as Anduin gave a cute giggle.
"King Genn is already a full shade of white, best not have all of us."
"If you are all finished with your pointless bantering, the Queen awaits us." The undead archer advised in an unamused tone.
The royal then followed the undead man to the Queen's Castle as the Banshees guarded the front entryway.
"King of Lions, our mistress has been dying for you. You answered her call?" One of them greeted as they circled the boy king.
"Yes, honestly, I was surprised Sylvanas requested me as a healer, not a king. I thought she would wish to speak with me in matters of peace." Anduin admitted as he brought a satchel of medical gear for undead only.
"Her suffering has been intense of late as her ailment grows. None of her physicians can soothe her pain. But one with your reputation…"
"She was quite fascinated by your field research on healing, especially of the soul and mind as well as the body. How… with the proper channels, even wounds of the soul can be healed and restored, especially those of the forsaken who suffer the most."
"You read my papers? It's very flattering." Anduin chuckled a bit as she noticed one of his books.
"You are one of the unconventional, modern, and gift healers in Azeroth, which makes you the most excellent," Nathanos explained further.
"What kind of pain has she suffered?" The king of the Alliance wondered.
"It is only for you and you alone to know. Your pets will stay out here."
"Your highness, this seems a bad idea."
"As a healer, it is my duty to hear the calls of those who need me. I must also be discreet and uphold the oath of confidentiality." Anduin informed his men, "I will do everything in my power to try to find the source and heal her."
"I will hold you to that, Little Lion."
Anduin then bowed and entered inside.
Hours passed until the king returned out, troubled, and tired.
"Well…?"
"She will need… sessions. I have never seen a case like this, and it will take all my knowledge to help her, though I can ease her pain with herbs for the moment. If I try to use this form at healing all at once, it may cause a fatal overdose." Anduin whispered to Nathanos away from the Banshees and guards.
"Hence why the sessions. Alright, if my Queen trusts you with this, then so shall I."
"She needs to take a spoonful in the morning and one at night, I will arrive every week and record our progress. Be sure Sylvanas does not exhaust herself as well and keep her away from the Azerite. It seems to have negative effects on her."
"Understood."
The king and his men then left without saying another word.
At a secret base…
Many had gathered, they gathered from other places to other lands, from their own fractions to meet with a wizard and something troubling in a large ampoule.
"Brothers and sisters, our leaders have lost their way, our gods have lost their way, the fools above have given themselves to their ideals. But we know the truth. The true ruler and God has sent us our shepherd to lead us to our freedom and new world. Soon, no more kings, no more infidels, no more Horde, Alliance, or any that nonsense. We would rule it all." The hooded wizard promised them as he turned to the leaders brought in.
"Galvar Pureblood, your Scarlet Crusade was once the protectors of the land, so how were you rewarded? Excommunication."
"Vanessa VanCleef, your people were cheated from the wealth you deserve and were hunted, many killed, including your father and previous leader of the Defias Brotherhood, Edwin VanCleef."
"Twilight's Hammer, how long will you survive the hunt of the other Dwarves? You are not animals."
"Aya Blackpaws, why settle as a crime lord of the Jade Lotus, when you can be a lord period?"
"Dark Riders, take vengeance on those you have stolen from you, and you shall ride again."
"Host of Suffering, you can fulfill your darkest wishes and serve a suitable Lich King again."
"Kabal, no longer have to chase coins and meager fee from the shadows. Have the riches you dream of."
"I have even offerings for those frustrated for how your leaders fail you. Uncrowned or otherwise, I can offer you freedom, he can offer you freedom. We will all be freed."
Everyone cheered for the sorcerer.
"All we have to do is light the match."
Undercity at Night days after the treaty signing…
This was the start and what should have been the first victory.
It would start the spark of war and destroy everything they despised. By the destruction, the fractions would naturally blame each other, especially when they find the planted evidence and 'witness' some of the most rememberable leaders. They would start the war and the true rulers of Azeroth would pick them off and destroy them. Then they will rise up from the dirt to a brand new, glorious, empire of perfection where it is their way that was law. That was what they dreamed and planned for, they were going to get it no matter what. They would have been the victors of the war to come.
But then there was a fatal flaw.
Anduin wasn't supposed to be there that day.
He was called early by Sylvanas as her latest physician, he was needed to keep an eye on her and help her through this. Their sessions proved very effective, and Anduin was drawing close to the source of the problem. Genn had voiced his complaints about the king's visits, let alone healing the evil banshee that has brought so much pain to others. But the young Lion sees the good in the dead high elf and would help anyone who needs them.
With his hazmat suit on, his medical equipment set, and the doors shut not to be interrupted, the Light of Stormwind was ready to begin his session once again with Sylvanas to find the source of her pain. Then relieve her from it. He entered her room as they both sat on the floor, candles Anduin provided lit, the gong gently rung, and the energy was clear. Both Anduin and Sylvanas were entering a meditative trance as the candle steam swirls around them.
The treatment brought a sense of harmony and sequence.
Through the breath was in of the steam came image as it flowed out as well. In and out. In and out. In and out. Image after image drawn by Anduin's hand and written in his separate notes, still in his trance but as observant and ever studious. As he was copying the images, there came something else, something that wasn't like the others. It was like a whisper in his ear.
Beware, the danger is near.
Anduin gasped as the meditation came to an end and the two fraction leaders were looking at each other. There was a chill in the air as the candles themselves flickered out and the steam they created disappeared.
"What in the Light was that? Sylvanas, did you hear that too?" Anduin gasped as the human king was trying to shake off the headache.
"Like a pair of nails scratching against a chalkboard. It seems that your theory was correct then." Sylvanas answered.
"I wonder what it meant when it said about, danger." Anduin the priest hummed then the two of them heard a knock on the door.
"Um, your highnesses… Forgive me, I-I know were not allowed to interrupt but-." A voice stuttered, trying not to appear to be afraid.
"What is it?" Sylvanas demanded with a sigh.
"Oh, um. There is something for you, your highness. Sent by Lord Greymane."
"Genn? That doesn't sound like him. Why not have me sent things in his stead?" Anduin questioned as he knew the man know enough to notice that something was wrong.
He then looked to the undead woman and nodded to one another, then got up from the floor. Whatever was going on, it seemed to be just coming all at once. Even so, Genn was not the type of person to just send things to his mortal enemy, especially since the boy he called his son, despite his protest was going there anyway.
Could it be a trick?
Outside the castle…
Anduin and Sylvanas came outside as they were stunned by what was outside, a giant wooden statue of Sylvanas being pierced by a spear.
On the plaque was the words 'Tombstone of the Banshee, May the Dead Perish.' Written.
"We checked to see if there was a trap or anything. But so far, nothing." One of the ghouls reported as the human in the hazmat suit approached.
"It seems your mongrel has a sense of humor." Sylvanas sneered as Anduin bent down at the words.
"What is the meaning of this slander-." Nathanos began but then was brought to a grinding halt.
"Genn didn't make this."
They all then looked to the boy.
"I… have seen the way Genn whistles and this is not his type of style, even the words don't match his handwriting. Whoever made this wanted to make it look as much of Genn's design but tried too hard." Anduin explained in detail, then looked to the plaque, "Something isn't right here… 'Beware the danger is near'? Could it be…"
"Did you find out who brought this here?" Nathanos questioned the ghoul, who did not want to get in trouble with the leaders.
"No, it was found near the marketplace. No one saw where it came from or who brought it here." He answered with an attempt of being humble.
Soon, Anduin noticed something behind the plaque. He pries the plaque open and saw the words, 'Goodbye'. Suddenly the eyes opened of the statue as the spear sprung upward like a firework, making a piercing sound! It drilled into the heavens and out into the air, seen by someone from afar!
They pulled the trigger!
Sylvanas sensed the danger coming!
"Anduin!" She screamed as she pulled the boy back, just as the explosion appeared from the ground!
Then one after another, there were blue explosions were everywhere in Undercity! Until the entire city was vaporized! A plan that would bring backfire and a war unlike any other!
