Hi, it's me, again.

Did you see what I did there? No?

Well, this story is not going to be a romantic one, even though it will contain romance. Obviously, it will end up being Delena; I wouldn't be me if it didn't end that way.

But I was thinking; Elena already has the Salvatore brothers eating out of the palm of her hand, why not add the Mikaelson family too?

At first, I thought she was just going to bond with Elijah or something like that, but then I was like, that is so cliché.

And then I remembered, "Hey, Elena is good with kids."

So why not make her bond with the one person who already has all the Mikaelson family wrapped around her little finger?

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, we are talking about the one and only Hope Andrea Mikaelson.

(Which don't hate me for this, but I haven't watched the originals, so I'm sorry if I say things that don't make sense with the Mikaelson family. But it's also my story, so if I want to change things, I will do it.)

So, let's begin with this.

Elena

Why was the boarding house so cold in winter almost every damn day? She was already in front of the fireplace, wrapped in a fluffy white blanket, in her boyfriend's arms. Despite being a member of the undead, he transmitted warmth through his embrace.

So, why was she feeling a chill through her spine?

And, apparently, Damon felt it too.

"Hey, whats going on in that gorgeous head of yours?" She looked up and saw those gorgeous sky blue eyes watching her with worry in them. God, she loves him.

"I'm fine." She tried to reassure him giving him a soft smile.

He, as always, saw through it.

"Princess, what's wrong?" He asked while he made sure that the blanket was covering both of them. She adores him. She worships him. She breathes him. All of him.

"I just...have this feeling that something is going to happen." And she really hoped that this wasn't the case. Her life has been a constant series of problems since the moment she knew about the supernatural world.

"Well, something is going to happen." Damon grabbed her face with both hands and gave her a smile that made her heart, and her panties, melt. "Someone here will be 20 years old tomorrow."

"It's not that; it's more complex. It doesn't feel bad, but it also doesn't feel good." She sighed, burying her face in Damon's chest. "I know I'm not making any sense at all, but...I feel this will change a lot of things."

"Well, unless Klaus is announcing he's retiring from the evil industry and moving to Mystic Falls, or worse, Barbie Klaus is." He replied, kissing her head softly. "I don't see what could happen that has you like this."

"I don't think this will be caused by Klaus or something external, Damon." Elena knew he wouldn't like this, but she had to be honest. "I actually feel like I am the one changing things this time."

She could hear the wheels turning in his head and giggled. That was one of the things she loved most about her boyfriend; when Damon had to come up with a solution to help those he loved, he gave his all, he didn't hold back, and that was why everyone in their group of supernatural/humans considered him their leader, and she couldn't be more proud of her man.

"Well then, let's take you to bed, warrior princess, because your fighting instincts are kicking in." In a blink of an eye, he was carrying her in bridal style to his- their- bedroom.

Elena was going to refuse, but she actually felt pretty tired herself; school had been rough, and going shopping with Caroline of all people was pretty exhausting; so she relaxed and let the older Salvatore carry her to bed.

One year of dating, and she was still amused by how tender and kind Damon Salvatore could be; but don't you dare tell him that, cause he would look for a way to prove you wrong, because God forbid he is perceived as someone kind and weak.

He placed her on her side of the bed and took off her shoes. He then took off his shirt and pants (yes, he sleeps completely naked) and climbed into bed with her.

"Good night, Lena." He whispered in her ear while hugging her waist from behind and drifting to sleep.

"Good night, Damon. Love you." She said while yawning.

She could feel his sweet smile behind her head and the last thing she heard before falling asleep was his sweet "Love you too."

Elena was in a forest.

She didn't know where or how she appeared there, but she was sure of one thing.

She was safe.

Well, kind of.

All of a sudden, she felt like she had to keep walking. And so she did.

She didn't have to go far, though. In front of her were the ruins of a castle with a sign that said "intra".

That should have been the first sign that she shouldn't go there because "intra" meant "come inside" in Latin, and that could only mean something more terrifying.

Where there was Latin, there were witches.

But it was too late now, she was already inside.

"Who are you?" A...younger?...voice asked behind her.

She turned to see a little girl watching her with wonder.

"I am Elena Gilbert, and you? What are you doing here?" She asked while searching from where this little girl came from.

"My name is Hope! Hope Andrea Mikaelson!" The little girl said smiling.

"Mikaelson? As in Klaus Mikaelson?" Elena asked unsure if she should be asking that in the first place.

But apparently she said something right because Hope's eyes iluminated themselves after hearing Klaus name.

"YES! Do you know my papa?" Holy. Shit.

This was Klaus Mikaelson's daughter!?

"Yes, but it's not pretty." That was all she said because as much as she didn't like Klaus, Hope seemed to admire him a lot and she didn't wanted to ruin her father's image to her.

"Well, I feel better know, if you know my papa that means you are not a stranger! So we can go explore! Come on! Let's go see the paintings!" Elena didn't had a choice cause Hope grabbed her hand and started running deeper into the ruins.

"Hold on Hope! What paintings?" She asked while trying to keep up with the excited little girl.

"They are right here! And let me tell you, they painted you a lot!" Hope said finally stopping and looking to the left.

Hope wasn't kidding, that were A LOT of doppleganger's portraits.

"I have been here since bedtime because we are sleeping, duh, but there is no one here! And I was getting soooo bored!" Hope said bouncing with her little feet.

Yep, she was dreaming.

Elena was glad that, unlike her father, Hope was a bubbly happy carefree kid, but that didn't explain why they were here.

She is 8 years old for god's sake!

"Hope listen to me, I need to to stay by my side, I think this is a place for witches to do their sacrifices or spells, i don't know, but I need you to be safe!" Elena thought Hope will back down scared but dam this kid still surprises her.

"Is this because I am the tribryd?"

"WHAT!?"

But before Elena could continue, they were being surrounded by witches.

Witches that seemed like they were compelled.

"Hope when I say run you ru.."

"AUNT FREYA!" The girl interrupted her screaming and runing to the arms of a short haired blonde, who looked like she was worried about the little kid.

She was about to ask what they were doing here when she spotted someone in the group of people.

Bonnie.

"I don't have much time Elena but I need you to please just do as we say, this is too important to mess it up." Bonnie said as she walked to her. Elena could see this Freya woman explaining the same to Hope in the other side of the building.

"I don't understand, what is so important?" She asked, the uneasy feeling growing in her stomach.

"I'll explain everything once we are awake but please trust me." Her friend explained as she pushed to the center of the room, where there already was Hope waiting for her.

"We are going to be superheroes!" Hope said as soon as she joined her.

Just then she noticed the figure drawn in the floor.

A star.

No. NO. NO!

And that's when the chanting began.

Sanguis Petrovae, obscurum pulsare,

Antiqua maledicta, tenebras evocare.

Vel orbis sanetur in igne tuo,

Vel ruina devoret sub sanguine crudo.

Potestas tua chaos pariat aut mundum renovet,

In noctis juramento, fatum consumet.

Her blood was boiling. Literally.

Every nerve and bone in her body felt like being on fire and it felt like it wasn't stoping soon.

Very far she heard Bonnie desperate scream "DO NOT WAKE UP!!"

Sanguis Tribridi, triplex flamma,

Antiqua dominatio, chaos reclamare.

Corruptionem ducas aut vitam restituas,

In tenebris latentibus, potentia tua eruas.

Vel mundum ligare vel universum frangere,

Sub noctis regno, fatum decernere.

OH MY GOD HOPE!

She could hear the screams of pain of the little girl and that made her furious.

She was only 8 years old and she was already going through something so painful it will change her as a person.

"Hang on Hope!" God she just wanted this to stop! Why was her life a constant serie of problems?

SANGUIS PETROVAE

SANGUIS TRIBIDI

SANGUIS PETROVAE

SANGUIS TRIBIDI

Elena didn't know how long did the ritual continued. She just focused on enduring the pain and helping Hope with hers.

Suddenly the pain stopped and the witches started to disappear, one by one.

Elena saw Freya go to a barely concious Hope while Bonnie came closer to her.

"I am so sorry Elena but it is done now." Bonnie said as soon as she got her in her arms "I'll explain everything as soon as I get to Mystic Falls."

Elena could only nod and shiver in the witch embrace.

"Now, try to wake up because Damon is so close to losing his shit."

That was all it take.

In some place in the Salvatore Boarding House, Elena Gilbert opened her eyes.

The sound of Damon's ragged breathing filled the room as Elena's eyes fluttered open. His hands cupped her face before she could fully adjust to the dim light of their bedroom.

"Elena," he breathed, his voice a mix of relief and panic. "Thank God. Are you okay? You scared the hell out of me."

Her lips parted to respond, but the dryness in her throat made it impossible to form words. She coughed once, weakly, and Damon's grip tightened.

"Hey, easy. Just breathe," he said, his thumb stroking her cheek.

But the cough came again—harder, more insistent—and this time, something wet hit her hand. Damon froze as his eyes followed hers.

"Damon…" Her voice was hoarse, shaking, but she didn't need to finish the sentence.

The blood pooling in her palm wasn't red. It was black.

"Elena," Damon said again, his tone sharp now, panic giving way to terror. He grabbed her wrist and yanked her hand closer to inspect the inky liquid dripping down her fingers. "What the hell is this?"

"I don't—" Another violent cough cut her off, her body convulsing with the force of it. Black blood splattered onto the sheets, staining them in dark, ominous streaks.

"Elena, stay with me," Damon ordered, his voice taking on the authoritative edge she hated but needed right now. He pulled her upright against his chest, one hand pressing against her back as he reached for his phone with the other.

"Bonnie," he muttered, dialing the number with a speed that came only from too many life-and-death situations. "This better not be some witchy fallout from whatever the hell you dragged her into—"

"Damon, stop!" Elena's voice cracked, but it was enough to make him pause. She pushed weakly against his chest, her honey-brown eyes wide with a mix of fear and determination. "It's… I think it's me. Not Bonnie. Not anyone else. Just me."

"What the hell does that mean?" Damon snapped, his voice rising, even as he wiped the black blood from her mouth with trembling fingers.

Elena didn't answer. How could she? The truth was, she didn't know either. But deep down, in the darkest corner of her soul, she felt it—the shift, the change.

This wasn't just a sickness.

It was a warning.
