The Lonely Mountain, my father used to tell me stories about this place I always imagined it as a giant mountain full of dwarves working in forges and digging the most beautiful jewels, but now that I am here a boat ride away it seems more like a prison than a dream of adventure and discovery.
"My lady," Anna, my personal servant, a young woman in her fifties who has lived her life looking after me and serving me, calls me, "you will catch a cold if you continue to just stand there."
I huffed a bit. "I just wanted to look at my future home," I comment a bit sassily, the icy wind stirring my long hair, small white strands falling over my face, " by this time tomorrow I will be celebrating my betrothal to Prince Thorin," I give a weary sigh, "a complete stranger..."
"Don't be discouraged my lady," Anna tries to calm me down, "I'm sure your father wouldn't arrange for you to marry a fool."
"All dwarves are ugly, fat, and hairy." I grimace. Anna just laughs in my face.
"Your father loves you too much to marry you to an ugly man." As she continues to laugh.
"While it is true that my father loves me, there is one thing that he loves more than me. Which is power."
Anna stops laughing, "You have a good point there."
I look down at my hands and nails, my hands are the hands of someone who has never known hard work, I doubt that these hands will fit in the dwarven society, dwarves are hard, strong, and hard working.
"I just hope that they won't be disappointed to see such a delicate girl coming through their doors they're probably expecting to see a stronger and sturdier girl."
I feel Anna shift behind me, "You are perfect just as you are, and if they can't recognize that, then they ate a buch of idiots."

I wake up hearing my father arguing with someone. "This is not a suitable means of transport for me and my daughter, this is a vile vegetable cart!!" I hear my father yell. Dwalin and Balin, the two dwarves from earlier, who are also cousins of the royal line, and our guides to Erebor. Dwalin growls, "This is the only thing that will stand the climb up the mountain, unless you want to ride a horse up." "How long would it take to ride up?" I softly asked. "Two hours, but for your comfort King Thrór sent his wagon... he doesn't want the future granddaughter to arrive sore and exhausted to the mountain." He answered, he wore a soft smile. "I'd prefer horseback, if that's ok." I reply. Balin smiles, "We don't mind at all." "You can't you'll dirty your dress." My father said scolding me. "I don't think my future family will mind of there's just a bit of mud on my hem." I shot back. Dwalin smiled, "No, they won't mind at all."

The climb up the mountain on horseback was harder then I expected, it's also cold and scary. The road is full of sharp bends and cliffs from which stones fall off as you pass, not to mention that the higher we climb, the stronger and colder the wind gets, my coat doesn't do much to warm my frozen limbs. Bard had mentioned that this isnt the coldest it can get and that it's only autumn. We go in line with Dwalin and Balin. I shudder as another cold draught of air blows my hood of my coat off my head freeing my hair that blows in my face, making it hard to see. Fortunately I soon see the huge gates of the castle that is inside of the mountain. We finally have arrived to Erebor. The giant gates open, we all dismount and walk inside.
"I see the young lady is so fascinated by her future home that she has forgotten that she is here tk meet her future family." My gaze lands on the man who was speaking, my guess was that he is King Thrór. "My bad, I didn't mean to be disrespectful." I said softly. "You didn't. Come here child, I want to see you better." I nodded then I walked up to him. "You are beautiful," he smiles, "don't you think so, Thorin?" I turn to meet the icy blue gaze of Prince Thorin, who looked at me without any intrest. I swallow hard, he is incredibly handsome, his hair is black and long, his beard is short and bushy, and he is built very well, there's no doubt that he could break me in two with his huge hands, he's wearing a dark blue shirt, he also has a long sword that is tied around his waist, he looks me up and down, with little to no interest. Damn, if he's gonna be married to me, he's GOT to like me. If he doesn't my married life will be hell.
