Get outta the way Deku! It's this way!"
Deku sighed. Surely it wasn't going to be this way the whole time?
Bakugo glared at him. "Don't you see it! There's a huge house over the trees over there!"
"No, Kacchan I didn't see!" Deku started running.
"Oi! Don't leave me behind you shit!" Bakugo was right behind him.
The two skidded to a stop in front of the huge, impressive looking, Japanese style house.
"Whoa." Deku whispered, at the same time as Bakugo said, "Shit!"
There was an ornate Torii gate, which they passed under and met immediately with a beautiful priestess.
She was just what you would expect a priestess to be: long dark hair, olive skin, honest brown eyes, white, perfect wings and she was really, really beautiful. An aura of power made the boys step back.
But the woman seemed to sense their distrust, and bent slightly to their level (she was really tall). "I am Mana, the High Priestess of this shrine. My Grams, the Tenshi, is out today. How may I help you?"
A sense of calm washed over both of them, and for once, even Bakugo looked respectful. Was this the miko's quirk?
Deku was the first one to recover. "We came to tell you we are going to take care of Kuri and Reiko now."
"Yeah. Cuz they were terrified of you people." Bakugo shot in, but he didn't sound as angry as usual.
Understanding flickered over Mana's face. She touched her lips, and a troubled expression flashed over her face. For a moment, the boys' feelings were their own, and they both wondered what Mana herself had done to the girls. But then her countenance cleared, and Mana smiled gently. "Please come in. I'll prepare their things."
Bakugo looked at Deku in question. Deku shrugged, and followed Mana inside.
Mana already had everything prepared, really quickly. She held two folders out to the boys. "This is legal emancipation paperwork. I've been their legal guardian for ten years, so my signature is sufficient. You're very fortunate that Grams isn't here." She said that like they should be thanking her. Like she ensured it somehow. "In any case. Can the two of you carry all this?"
"Pfft. Lady, don't underestimate us." Bakugo loaded himself up, and loaded Deku up, tho he didn't ask for it.
Deku bowed to Mana. "Thank you very much, onee-chan."
Mana's countenance faltered again, with a gentle expression. "That obvious?"
Deku looked up at her firmly. "I'll come back and save you too."
"We will."
Then they were gone, but they didn't forget how brave the eldest member of the tragic Hikawa family was.
