"I hate these conferences," Cameroon sighed.
The nations had a month-long conference, which required them to stay together in the same hotel for that period. Not only was it frustrating, being away from their countries for so long, but that also made other things difficult. Luckily, they were allowed to bring their pets along, as long as they kept them out of trouble.
Right now, Cameroon took Kokolo for a walk. He pitied the poor lion, being forced to spend the entire day in the same room. His companion needed his exercise.
Of course, not everyone was happy to see a lion walking about. At least Cameroon was guaranteed some privacy. One of the only nations who didn't panic upon seeing Kokolo was Canada, though since Canada was carrying his polar bear, Cameroon supposed that Canada didn't seem to think that a predator as a pet was particularly frightening.
Someone else rounded the corner, and Cameroon braced himself for whatever this nation's reaction would be. He had only a brief moment to see that it was Greece before the cat lying on top of Greece's head caught his attention, and then there was another cat on Greece's shoulder. He wondered how it could feel comfortable for either party.
"Oh," Greece said upon spotting them. "You're Cameroon, right? We don't really talk that much."
"Yeah…" Cameroon said. Greece looked particularly tired, but he didn't think he'd ever seen Greece not tired, unless he was arguing with Turkey. "Just wanted to take Kokolo for a walk."
Greece looked down at the lion, before he crouched down in front of Kokolo and held out his hand. Kokolo cocked his head to the side before he approached Greece, and Greece smiled as he stroked Kokolo's head.
"You don't mind that he's a lion?" Cameroon asked.
"Not really," Greece said. "I love cats, and when I first saw him, I wanted to pet him." Greece's eyes widened and he looked up. "Oh, I probably should have asked if he's alright with being petted."
Cameroon smiled, before reaching out to the cat on Greece's head. The cat tilted its head towards Cameroon's hand and started to purr as Cameroon scratched its head.
"I guess that's something we have in common," Cameroon said.
