When worlds collide

~Chapter 3~

...

The rain first came out slow. Followed by a loud boom! Of thunder. A powerful bolt of lighting suddenly strikes the ground nearby. It was so hard that the ground started to crumble from the hard impact. A black burn mark now scorched the spot the lighting had struck.

The rain quickly started to increase. Beginning to make it almost impossible to see the long dirt road in front of the large group. Everyone was completely soaked from head to toe in the cold rain.

"Hey! look there!" Naruto randomly burst out. Making almost everyone jump up at the sudden outburst. With Naruto now jumping up and down wildly as he points a finger in the direction of a small hut.

The hut really looked ruff on the outside, the glass from one of the front windows was completely cracked the door had a few holes and from where they were it looked like the roof had a couple holes itself.

"It looks empty," Cyborg points out hopefully. The other titans nodding their heads in agreement.

Walking towards the small building, Robin, being in the front, was the first to reach the hut, twisting the surprisingly unlocked door. He pushed the squeaky door open and peaks his head in. Glancing around quickly before turning his head back to the huge group behind him, waiting impatiently for him to tell them if it was empty or not.

"It looks bigger on the inside," Robin mutters lowly as he pushes the door further and walks inside.

Everyone files inside. With Yukia slowly shutting the door behind her as she entered.

There wasn't much to the small hut. What looked to have been a small kitchen set off to the far back of the room. There was no sink or oven, no fridge.

A small fire pit set in the middle of the room, not looking to have been used in a long while. Four rooms seemed to be down the small narrow hallway, or at least that's what everyone could guess. Possibly one of them was a bathroom.

Rain dripped in from the holes in the roof. Dripping onto the wooden floor.

"Looks like we need firewood," kiba sighs, as he runs a hand through his brown hair. "Man, I was really hoping to rest once we got here,"

"The wood is possibly wet by now. It would take forever to find some that's still dry.. and able to set on fire, " Raven points out dully.

"I could go look around," Yukia inquiries. She had just sat down but was quickly back on her feet, ready to head out if she had to.

"Are you sure? you look like you could use some rest. " Robin questions a small flash of concern crossing his face.

A silence feels the small room, as the red-headed girl walks to the entrance of the hut, a few eyes following her movements. Yukia opens the door carefully, watching the rain pour heavily to the ground.

A loud boom echoes through the sky, causing her shoulders to winch slightly, not having expected the loud noise. Yukia glances back over her shoulder at the Titan leader

"Yes, I'll be fine," she insures him lightly "besides, this way, no one else has to catch a cold"

Robin simply nods his head, like her last statement was really that nerve calming. Why would they want her to catch a cold for?

"I could go, make sure she'll be ok," Naruto volunteers as he gets back to his feet and makes his way over to the door.

Yukia simply shakes her head at the blonde. A small grin coming to her lips.

She was silently glad to have someone coming along with her, with this place being new, she really didn't want to go alone,

Yet she wasn't bound to ask anyone to come along with her if they didn't want to, of course. Turning back around.

Yukia darts out into the cold rain . With Naruto following quickly behind her.

"She will be ok, I guess..." Cyborg says as the room falls silent.

"I guess your friend was right, huh?" Naruto questions, trying to start up some kind of conversation with the girl walking beside him.

They had found very few pieces of dried wood, no telling if they would actually be enough to even start a fire. And, where just starting to head back to the hut. Yukia was easily using her shield to keep them both dry from the pouring rain. A tired expression Beginning to settle on her face.

"Yeah, I hope this will be enough for tonight," she nods her head, her blue eyes gazing down at the few pieces of wood in her arms.

"If you're getting tired, you can remove your shield, I'll be fine," Naruto tells her with a reassuring smile coming to his lips.

Yukia glances over at him from her lashes, tilting her head slightly.

"You sure?" She asked carefully. Slowly letting the blue shield vanish away. At which they are both quickly drenched.. "I don't mind keeping it up.. it really isn't that big of a deal.."

A huge ball of lightning suddenly strikes the ground directly in front of them, preventing Naruto from answering her. A bright light flashes back at them. Making both teens cover their eyes with their free arm. The other arm still keeping hold of the pieces of wood.

The sound of something breaking directly in front of her catches Yukia's ears. Forcing her eyes open, hoping to see what was going on. Her eyes go completely widen when she sees Naruto,falling forwards into a huge cliff. His arms flailing out in front of him. A panicked look written clearly on his face.His eyes were still slammed shut due to the bright flashing light. The lighting seeming to have blinded him momentarily.

The pieces of wood, that was in his other arm, had already fallen out of his grasp, falling down into the darkness of the cliff.Yukia quickly darts forward desperately trying to grab hold of one of the blonde boys flailing hands, her fingers brush across the boys hand, only for his hand to slip away from hers before she could get a good grip. Naruto continues to fall, gravel and rocks falling down around him.

"Naruto!!" Yukia cries panickily.

"Damn it, I can't focus my chakra like this," Naruto shouts, trying desperately to build up chakra but to no avail. The lack of balance continuously made him lose his focus on his chakra.

Suddenly someone grabs hold of his hand grasping it rather tightly, the tightness making him winch, his eyes open up, and at first all he could see where black and white dots the lighting had really blinded him.

But after a few quick seconds passed and he was finally able to see, His eyes slowly followed the hand that had a tight hold on him, his blue eyes widen when he saw. Yukia dangling from the cliff as well. She had grabbed a hold of his arm with her left hand, her right one holding onto the side of the cliff rather tightly. she had jumped into the cliff after him before he could fall any further into its depths. She hadn't thought much about her actions. She just wanted to save him from falling any further. She always seemed to do stuff like this when it came to friends. Even if she didn't know him well...

"I got you," Yukia says down to him. trying desperately to pull him up, but due to him being a bit heavier, she found it pretty difficult to do just that.

"How did you?" Naruto questions his blue eyes still wide. Did she really just jump in to try and save him?

A panic look comes to her face as her hand begins to slip, she was refusing to let him go she wouldn't let him fall, it would probably be easier if she were to let him go, it wasn't like she knew him completely well and she could possibly pull herself up a lot easier without the extra weight. But for some reason In her mind he was a friend she cared for him and, she wasn't going to just let him fall, though jumping into a cliff to save him was not the smartest idea she had ever made, filling her fingers start to slip again she glances back up as does Naruto

"I can't hang on," She cries desperately.

Like the cliff had somehow heard her words, it crumbles under her hand sending rocks and dust flying up around them, panicked looks come to her's and Naruto's faces, as both teens begin the plunge into the darkness of the cliff, slamming her eyes tightly shut Yukia was too afraid to see where they would fall to she couldn't even see the ground through the darkness of the cliff and she was almost certain she didn't want to.

Yukia blinks her eyes after a few long moments after not feeling any pain she was sure she would have felt something. Feeling deeply confused, what had happened? And. How on earth did she end up back on the cliff side, her blue eyes looking back into the depths of the cliff. Sweatdropping, she quickly Scurries away from it, not wanting to fall again. Naruto sits beside her with the same confused look crossing his face, his blue eyes wide as he looks around.

"You both ok?" A seemingly concerned voice comes from behind them,

Making both Naruto and Yukia jump up, looking over their shoulders, they easily spot the red-headed boy. Gaara stands close by shifts of sand circling around his feet before quickly going into the quord on his back. Naruto stands up, dusting sone lose dirt from his clothing. Before offering a hand down to Yukia, who was still sitting down on her knees. The girl tilts her head at his hand, seeming to hesitate a minute. Before finally deciding to let him help her up.

"How did you know where we were?" Naruto questions his head, tilting to the side as he watches Gaara.

Suddenly, a small brown eye floats down in front of Naruto's face. As if it was answering his previous question, of course. Gaara was using is third eye jutsu to watch them.

Naruto, was quite glad, if they had continued to fall he was sure they would both had been killed, the eye falls to the ground in a flash the eye turning back into a small mold of yellow sand Yukia widens her eyes a little amazed.

"I was keeping an eye on you." Gaara answers the blonde boy simply.

"It was a good thing that you were," Yukia jumps in cheekily. "If you were not watching us, we would have probably been killed, there's no telling how far that trench went"

Scratching the back of her head nervously, Yukia looks away, a nervousness coming over her. When his eyes looked over at her, she wasn't sure why she had gotten nervous all a sudden. Gaara nods his head finally at her words. Even though it was small, Yukia could have sworn she saw a small hint of a smile crossing his lips

"Let's head back." Naruto decides a saddened look coming over his face. His blue eyes hooded as they look to the ground. "We lost all that wood. I guess where going to be cold tonight?"

Yukia kicks at the ground a small dust cloud puffing up around her feet, trying to think of something to make the blonde feel better she didn't want to see him sad besides she lost her wood too, to try and catch him

"Well, at least thanks to Gaara where alive we could be grateful for that," She points out brightly.

"Yeah, I guess so." Naruto agrees with a small nod of his head.

Gaara turns to head, back towards the hut with Naruto and Yukia, following close behind

"So how do you guys use your powers anyways?" Yukia asked curiously. It was something she had been wondering a while now, but I hadn't been sure how to ask.

"We use chakra within our bodies" Naruto explains "I'm not really the best at explaining things but it allows us to walk on water and up the branches of trees we can also do other cool things" he explains cheerfully

Yukia nods her head in understanding. An interesting look flashing faintly on her face

"So, your powers, you don't use chakra?" Naruto questions. "Or your friends?"

"Nope, like I said before. I was born with the ability to turn into my wolf form. I'm really not sure about my shields or healing thought. " Yukia tells him honestly while shrugging her shoulders. Everything falls into silence. As the three walk onwards.

Reaching the hut after a could short minutes, they all walk inside. With Yukia and Naruto looking around the room. Sorry, looks crossing their faces.

"I'm sorry we don't have any firewood." Naruto starts to explain, "I lost it over a cliff."

"We lost it over a cliff," Yukia corrects, placing a gentle hand on the blondes shoulder. Causing Naruto to smile cheerfully down at her. "It wasn't just his fault,"

"Your back I was about to go out and look for you" Robin tells Yukia he was standing by a wall his masked eyes watching the door intently, she was his teammate after all so of course, he worried about her, he would do about anything for her well they all would,

Yukia wouldn't hesitate to do anything for them she would easily jump right on it if they needed help, of course. Casting the titan leader a caring look. Yukia can't help feeling a bit warm inside it was nice having people who cared about her as much as the Titans seemed to.

"We are back though," she responds softly. "You can relax now,"

"Gaara, why didn't you tell us you were going out?" Temari demands to know her hands on her hips as her eyes stare at her younger brother an unimpressed look in her eyes as she watches him from her lashes thought he seems to skillfully ignore, her Gaara rolls his eyes at his sister having decided to answer her question after all

"I just went to get some air," He ruffle, says to her.

"And to follow us" Yukia puts in a small chuckle coming from her lips, as her eyes gaze slightly over at the boy who had somehow managed to lose interested in what was going on around him.

However, when he catches Yukia staring at him, he glances back at her from the corner of his eye, quickly shaking her head.

Yukia, let's out a small yawn and walks to a small corner. It was unclear to her why she felt more comfortable sleeping in a corner, perhaps a force of habit? Or maybe a safety thing she slips into her wolf form, stretching her front legs out in front of her. Her massive head going to rest on top of them. Yukia cast her eyes around the room, easily able to see all her friends. Beastboy lets out a deep sigh as he pulls his knees up to his chest.

"I'm glad you both are ok, but it would be nice if we had some warmth," he seems to pout lowly to himself.

"It's really not that cold" Kiba points out a small smirk crossing his lips, however a sudden shiver goes up his spine as a cool breeze rolls in from the small holes in the roof, proofing his point of him not being cold.

Akamaru sits comfortably on Kiba's lap, his head resting on his tiny paws. Kiba's jacket wrapped around the small puppy. Kiba was clearly more concerned about his little dog than himself. The small animal was his best friend after all. He'd do anything for Akamaru.

"My bugs don't seem to be liking the cold either" Shino mumbles lowly an irritating mark forming on his head when a bug crawled onto his arm, he could feel the small little insect shiver with ever step it seemed to take.

Yukia suddenly stood back up a tired sigh coming from her lips she couldn't take it anymore she hated seeing her friends cold, throwing out her arms and focusing her energy outwards.

A small bubble slowly begins to float around the small room. Gaining a few peoples quick attention. Yukia continues to focus her energy into it. Making it grow bigger and bigger. Till it completely surrounded the small room.

Yukia was hoping that maybe her shield would block out some of the cold wind blowing in from the small holes in the ceiling and windows.

Yukia silently sits back down, remaining in her human form it was somewhat easier for her to control her shields in her human form, not that she couldn't use them while in her wolf form. It was just easier to focus on keeping them up in her human form. She would try and keep the shield up all night long if she could.

"You really shouldn't have your shield up," Raven whispers from beside her.

Knowing very well how much energy could be put into Yukia's shields, the more energy she put into them, the more powerful the shields could be. The only downfall was, when Yukia used them constantly, she would grow extremely tired and, week.

Raven, new the girl wasn't week far from actually. It was just how the shields worked. But knowing Yukia, she would push past her limits and push all the energy she had into her shields, just to try and keep them all warm. Sadly, that would exhaust her completely, and put strain on her body.

Yukia probably wouldn't be able to shift to her wolf form or even heal them if they got hurt. It was nice to know the girl was willing to push that far for them. But really, she didn't have to.

"You should rest, and recover will all be ok for now," Raven tells her lowly

Yukia smiles up at the older girl beside her, knowing she was right but was too stubborn to remove her shield. She wanted to keep everyone warm if at all possible.

"I'll be ok," Yukia insures lowly, her hands messing with something on her clothes, possibly a string.

Raven couldn't half tell due to the darkness in the hut. Raven simply shakes her head. Not feeling the need to argue with Yukia. besides, the girl was stubborn and wouldn't listen to reason anyway.

"This is amazing." Naruto chimes in, trying to poke at the blue shield around him curiously with his index finger. True, it wasn't the first time he'd seen this shield. But Naruto was still curious about it. Realing his hand back. Naruto smiles gracefully over at the young girl. The blonde admired her she really cared for her friends. Like he did for his.

"Hopefully, it will help everyone to keep warm," Yukia replies tiredly, her words slugish. As her blue eyes start to droop. "I'm unsure on how long I can maintain it though, I've been using them all day,"

"No worries." Sakura waves off dismissively. Sitting back against the wall, she's leaning against.

"If you get too tired, just remove it." Robin sonewhat demands. Getting a small look from his young teammate. "Don't push so hard to keep it up, okay? Will be fine. "

Yawning tiredly, Yukiasmiles at her friends caringly.

"I'll keep it up for a bit longer," she decides mostly to herself, pulling her legs up to her chest. And resting her head on top of them.

Yukia was awoken by a loud noise coming from outside. Almost everyone had fallen asleep, well, not everyone narrowing her eyes slightly at Gaara. She really couldn't tell if he was asleep or not His eyes were closed. His back lending against a wall, his arms crossed over his chest. Maybe he was resting his eyes? She never knew of someone sleeping while still standing up.

Yukia stands up and walks to the entrance of the hut, she quietly opens the door the best she can the old door squeals loudly on the floor, making it hard to not wake anyone who was asleep up the door was so loud. Peeking outside.

Yukia skims the area carefully. At first, she really hadn't seen anything, probably due to the sleep that still remained in her eyes, making her eyesight slightly blurry. once her sight cleared up, however, she quickly wished it hadn't, she honestly wished she was still be asleep, it was a lot better than seeing a huge black and white aura heading straight towards the small hut, the aura scorching the ground on its hot pursuit towards them, quickly slamming the door shut.

Yukia throws her arms up focuses more of her strength into her shield, hoping to make it stronger if that was even possible. She was still very tired and hadn't been able to gain her full strength back yet.

"What's the matter?" Robin asked with a small yawn escaping from his lips, a cute, tired look on his face

Yukia had just realized that everyone in the room was now up, probably from her slamming the door she had slammed it pretty hard.

"I think we might be under attack again..." she answers him a panicked look coming to her face. "I don't have enough strength to hold back the oncoming attack,"

Naruto, wipes his eyes riding them of the sleep that still remained in them, the blonde male stubbles over to the door swinging it open with a power tug. The door scraping across the floor as the blonde opens it wide.

Something black and white suddenly collides into the old hut. With the building instantly shaking violently from the hard impact. In a matterof minutes, the building collapses around the huge group. Sending up splinters and sharp debris of wood flying everywhere. The shield around the large group was the only thing keeping the group from being buried under the old hut.

The aura continues forward. Like hitting the hut didn't even seem to slow down its fast pursuit.

The move slams powerfully into Yukia's shield. Making her fall to her knees. There was so much power put into this attack. It was actually hard for Yukia to hold it back. The shield she made wasn't as strong as it could be she didn't have enough strength to make it stronger, despite how hard she was trying to push herself to do so.

Raven looks over at yukia, silently wanting Yukia to stop using her shield. It was clear it wasn't good for her to continue to keep it up. If the strained look starting to appear over the young girls face was anything to go by.

A relieving sensation goes down, Yukia's spine when it feels as if her shield was, going to withstand the powerful move, it hadn't managed to break it yet.

However, the moment Yukia starts to relax, the shield starts to break, first at the place the aura hits hardest. Cracks quickly begin to form around the blue shield.

In a matter of seconds, the shield completely,shatters to the ground, almost like glass, with the remains of the shield instantly vanishing into puffs of white smoke.

The Aura continues on its destructive path, slamming hard into Naruto's chest, the powerful attack sending the blonde rocketing backwards a painful gasp coming from his lips, as he continues to fly back, he collides heavily into Robin's chest. Robin had just gotten to his feet after gently pushing a sleepy Starfire carefully of him, and it seemed he got up at the wrong time. A gasp of surprise comes from the masked boys lips.

"Robin! Naruto!" Both Sakura and Starfire cry at the same time.

Both boys continue flying backwards, collided heavily into a huge tree, Robin having hit his back harder on the tree sucks in a deep breath his eyes tightly shut, Naruto lays in front of him a groan coming from his lips even though he hadn't fully hit the tree full force, the Aura had slammed hard into his chest, which hurt alot, Starfire and Sakura rush over two the two boys. With Sakura swiftly checking over them, both looking for any injuries, Starfire was on her knees by Robin, her eyes filled with high concern for her best friend.

"You alright?" Beastboy asked, bending down beside Yukia, a hand resting gently on her back.

Yukia looks over her shoulders her eyes glancing back at Naruto and Robin wanting to be sure they were both alright it seemed they were fine despite Naruto being hit in the chest by the powerful aura and Robin slamming into the tree. to Yukia's silent relief. Sakura stood up with Naruto also getting to his feet. Robin allows Starfire to easily help him back to his feet as well.

Yukia gets back to her feet. her blue eyes gazing back at Beastboy, taking notice of the green boys concern as he watched her. A light smile coming to her lips

"Thank you, baby, but I'm ok," she answers him, her head snapping back to where the attack had come from. A low growl escaping from her lips.

"What's that?" Kiba barked, pointing a finger in the direction of the trees. A dark figure watches them. Kiba was easily able to smell the huge amount of blood on the man's clothing even from where he was standing. Blood always had a very noticeable irony smell.

"Mmmm," Akamaru whimpers, his ears flattening against his head pour guy. He was terrified. Kiba gently pats the puppies head, wanting him to know hr was going to be ok. Kiba wouldn't let anyone hurt him. Hinata stood beside him, having also seen the man with her eyes a troubled look clear on her face, her fingers twitching in front of her mouth nervously. Hinata flicks her pale eyes to the ground, trying to avoid the dark figures' cold ruby eyes.

"My bugs don't seem to like him" Shino mumbles in a low voice his eyes calmly glaring over at the dark figure his bugs buzzing around him low hisses coming from there small mouths of course Shino was the only one to hear them. Sakura hides back behind Naruto and Shikamaru. Small shivers going up her spine. Temari had already untied her fan from behind her back, her eyes watching the man intensely.

Gaara glares back at the man, a bored look on his face his arms crossed over his chest, his sand slowly flows from his quord on his back, flying around him in small clouds of sand.

"H...how...did...he" Beastboy begins his eyes wide in shock. "How on earth did he even get here? I thought we were the only ones!!"

"He must have gone through that machine Slade had built." Robin speaks up, hands balled up into tight fistdown at his sides. Getting several curious looks from the young ninja's around them. What machine?

Despite the questions on how the evil man had gotten there, playing through her mind. He was there. And Yukia was furious. He was gonna pay for his actions. She was gonna make sure of it. Squinting her eyes, why did he...?
