When worlds collide
Chapter 21~
...
Sitting against the large tree. A small blue bubble around her. Yukia squints her eyes down at her left arm. Seeing the red liquid running down her arm. It was hard to spot, yet yukia could see the purple liquid mixed in with her blood. No doubt poison from the dark beings that surrounded her.
The small blue shield she had managed to put up kept them at bay, for the moment. It'd last until her remaining strength ran out. But her strength would abandon her, eventually, and the shield would fade.
The undeniable death that surrounded her would finish her off. Yukia wasn't sure if she was afraid. Or if she was willing to welcome it with open arms.
A few grunts emit from her lips as she takes in a deep breath. The poison from her wound made it near impossible to breathe.
Her breath catches in her throat when suddenly something bright red slams into the blue bubble around her, with putting up little to no effort. The shield shatters around her like pieces of broken glass.
"No," she mutters lowly, trying to climb back to her feet only to fall back against the tree, the movement causing her to groan lowly in pain.
Yukia knew her shield wasn't all that strong. She hadn't had enough strength to make it stronger. It Honestly, didn't surprise her that it had broken, but still. Widening her eyes. Small bits of fear bubble up inside her gut as one of the dark creatures lungs towards her. Yukia closes her eyes. Not wanting to see the moment the creatures needle like teeth meets her neck flesh.
Her mind seemed to flash back to her friends almost all a sudden. Yukia couldn't believe how lucky she was to have met the titans, and better yet, she had become very close friends with them. The young heroes had saved her life so many times that she had lost count.
She wondered sometimes what her life would be like without them? Would she have joined her uncle? Would she have gone back to the pack? Where she was certain the alpha would have killed her. Her powers would have been seen as magic, and the pack didn't like magic. Yukia wasn't sure has to why. She never bothered to ask them fully. She honestly didn't think she had powers outside of the shape-shifting.
"Yukia." A calm, familiar voice comes from beside her, a gentle hand resting on her shoulder. Causing her to jump slightly in shock. Her eyes flying open. A sudden relief Feeling in her gut when she noticed who it was standing around her, it seemed the backup team had arrived.
Standing beside her with his hand carefully resting on her uninjured shoulder was. Gaara, his expressions a little unreadable at the moment.
Standing on her other side was Sakura, her eyes examining the wound on her arm with Naruto and Kekashi standing not too far away. A brown haired woman stood in front of her. Yukia recognized her as one of the hokages subordinates. Kankuro and Temari were a bit away from the group, seeming to be looking for anymore of those weird creatures. Luckily, they didn't see anymore. It seemed as though they scared them all away or just defeated them all.
"Are you okay? Take it easy. Where not going to hurt you." Shizuna soothed softly a caring look in her eyes.
"Her injuries look bad," Sakura spoke up. Her green eyes peeked over the wound on her arm. "If those creatures got to her, she could have poison in her system. We should get her some place safe and check her wounds."
"The place where staying at isn't far from here," Yukia informs them softly, her voice low she'd be surprised if they heard her. Using the tree, yukia pushes herself up onto her feet, her legs wobbling beneath her weight. She may not be able to walk far. But she was too stubborn to ask them for help. "I could take you all there, Beastboy is there resting. He'll need your help,"
"It doesn't seem like you'll be walking far," Kekashi points out. As he peers back at her. His one visible eye raised. It was amazing to see her even standing. With reports, they got from shikamaru on the poison. It was definitely a strong one.
"I...I hate to ask, but yes, I might need help... the poison is strong." the young girl admits. She didn't want to be a burden to them. But she needed their help. If they would give it.
The moment Yukia admitted she needed help. Gaara took her arm and easily put it around his neck, allowing the young girl to lean against him for extra balance, his strength easily able to support her. Her eyes drifting towards him. With a warm smile crossing her lips.
"Can you walk now?" The male wonders with her, barely nodding her head in response.
"Thank you," she whispered softly. Pointing in the direction her and the others were staying in. The leaf and sand ninja instantly heading in the direction she pointed out.
"Why were you out here alone anyways?" Naruto wonders as they walked through the village.
"I was supposed to have been a healer, I wasn't supposed to fight anything really," Yukia informs him. Her eyes casting over to the boy helping her walk. He was such a great friend to her. "Though of course that didn't turn out the way we had planned, i couldn't run away either. There was more of them before you guys showed up, I managed to defeat a few."
"Good thing we showed up when we did." Kankuro points out. She would have probably been dead. If Kekashi hadn't said something about scenting blood. They wouldn't have known to go check the situation out.
"Yes, I'm glad you all showed up," Yukia replies. "I don't overly mind dying. That doesn't bother me, I just want to know that Beastboy will be okay."
"You're not going to die," Gaara informs her, his voice serious, as his grip barely tightens around her waist. How dare she talk about that when she could very well be on deaths door right now. It bothered him to see her hurt, but to hear her say something about dying really bothered him.
"I'm sorry to ask..." The girl begins biting her lip nervously. "But would it be possible to go and. Inform my friends, where will be at. I wasn't supposed to leave there unless someone got hurt, and I'm aware they'll be worried if I'm not there if they come looking for me."
"If it makes you feel any better me and Naruto could go find them." Kekashi suggested. With yukia barely casting him, thankful look.
"Really? Thank you, Kekashi. I'd appreciate it." Yukia begins with a small intake of breath. "Be careful. I think they might have been attacked as well, I'm honestly worried about them,"
"Rest easy, will fund them," Naruto boost as he jumps up onto a nearby building. And takes off. Kekashi heaves out a heavy sigh. But quickly follows after the blonde male. Knowing if he didn't follow, there was no telling what the blonde would get into.
Sakura can't help but shake her head. Naruto was so impatient.
"Akira, Shikamaru, Ino, and Choji also went out. Though I can't remember what part of the village they went to," Yukia says softly.
"We can go find them," Temari speaks up dryly with Kankuro nodding his head in agreement.
With that said. The two sand ninjas quickly turn to head off to go find the three leaf ninjas.
"You could go with them if you want to." yukia tells Gaara, looking at him from her lashes, not wanting to keep him from going off to help his siblings. There was no telling what they could run into. 'The boathouse isn't far from here. I'm sure I could make it..."
"They'll be fine," He spoke up, though no emotion was heard in his voice. Not that yukia could pinpoint.
Yukia breaths out softly. She wouldn't admit it out loud. And she realized it was selfish. But she was silently glad that he was choosing to stay by her side.
...
Arriving at the boathouse. Yukia quickly informs Shizuna. Where Beastboy had been placed. She was more worried about him than herself. He was more important.
Cyborg had quickly come up to see who had come in. He'd been with Beastboy the whole time. The green teen was getting worse. Cyborg was highly concerned about him and didn't want to leave the boys' side. However when he heard the front doors to the boathouse open. He had honestly thought they had finally come back.
Though the robotic teen wasn't disappointed to discover it was just the backup team with Yukia. More worry filled in the robotic teens' gut. When he saw the young girl. her left arm pouring blood. A purplish liquid seemed to be mixed in with her blood. Dripped freely down her arm.
If it hadn't been for Gaara helping her walk, she would probably not have made it back. If anything.
"I'm fine, Cy. Shizuna will be healing, bb first." she informs him before he even had a chance to ask her if she was okay if course she wasn't worried as much about herself as she probably should have been. But she was fine, well she claimed that she was fine.
"Hopefully, I'll be able to heal him," Shizuna points out while heading down the stairs to go and heal Beastboy. "Sakura can heal your wound up some at least to stop the bleeding."
Yukia couldn't help but roll her eyes. Though she doesn't argue on that matter. She was far too tired to do so. Plus, her arm was throbbing she would not mind for the pain to be gone. And while it possibly would heal on its own. Except for the poison bit. She wasn't the best at healing poison. It definitely would ease her friends minds if she wasn't bleeding everywhere figuratively. Being placed carefully down on the couch thanks to Gaara.
Sakura's mint green eyes peered over the wound on Yukia's arm. Immediately, green chakra covers her palms.
Cyborg sits down in the armchair eye watching the doors to the boat house. His mind now worried about Raven, Robin, and Starfire. Hopefully, they'd be alright. Hopefully, they'd all get back unharmed. He should go out and find them. Yet he stays seated.
One of his eyes peering back at yukia, he wondered how she'd gotten in such bad shape. She wasn't even supposed to have fought anything. But he guessed whatever those things where could have attacked her.
Yukia lays her head back, the spinning in her skull increasing all a sudden. She had fought of the urge to pass out since they had managed to get to her and inject her with their deadly poison, but as she stated before, the poison from those creatures was very strong. Even though she had been doing her best to fight it off, she was getting tired. And it was getting harder to stay awake. Though she supposed thanks to Sakura, she wasn't gonna bleed to death.
"Yukia," a calm voice echoes in her ears. As she drifts in and out of sleep.
"Wake me up when Beastboy is better," she soothes gently. Sleep immediately coming over her like a tidlywave.
"Of course, she's more worried about him than herself," Cyborg sighs deeply she could at least pretend to be worried about herself.
"I'm not surprised," Sakura spoke up.
With that said the room falls into silence. as Sakura now focused on healed the wound on the girls arm. The injury, easily beginning to close. Sakura was still in training, so Shizuna would have to help with the poison.
...
.
...
Sitting in the middle of a small opening Yukia breaths out peacefully, her head held backward so she was able to stare up at the beautiful sunny sky above, a few fluffy clouds float around the blue sky as well. The sudden sound of footsteps causes her to sit up her blue eyes, casting towards where the footsteps had come from.
"What do you want?" she growls, her teeth bared as she stands up.
"You," the male chuckles deeply, his hand pointing at her.
"I told you I will never join you," she snaps
The man chuckles darkly, his red eyes holding no emotion as they glare back at her almost tauntingly.
"You will join me," he proclaims with a cocky smirk "one way or the other"
Yukia shifts to her wolf form as the man walks closer, his hand going back over his shoulder pulling out one of his long swords the weapon being held out in front of his face, his tongue running over the blade licking up a few drops of fresh blood,
Scrunching up her nose at the iron smell, Yukia can't help but quickly revert her eyes from the man.
Licking his lips, Debalo peeks back over at the girl smirking darkly
"By the way, they're all dead," he says jokingly. "I killed them, even him,"
"What?" The girl cries out her eyes, shooting wide open.
Yukia froze in place, her eyes searching over the man in front of her for any signs of him lying. She doubted he was she knew he would never lie about killing someone.
Debalo moves to the side, an evil grin clear on his face, at his feet in a pool of red liquid...
Fresh tears feel up into her eyes, soaking her cheek fur.
"W...hat...di.d..yo..." Moving towards him, Yukia couldn't finish her sentence.
There were just no words that were coming to her head now. The heart in her chest almost seemed to break right into.
Yukia was finding it harder to breathe as she kept looking at the emotionless body by the evil man's feet.
As she steps closer, Debalo seems to vanish, his loud mocking laughs echoing in Her head.
Reaching the boy, Yukia shifts to her human form, dropping to her knees, painful tears continuously flowing from her eyes.
"Gaa...ra...What...have.I..done" she sobs pain clearly heard in her voice as she continues to stare at him
More lifeless bodies slowly begin to appear beside her, each one recognized easily by her. Her eyes gazing over them all in quick turn, more tears whaling up in her eyes.
"No, no, no," she shouts through the painful tears...
...
Bolting upright in the bed, Yukia's eyes shoot wide open, making her head spin vigorously. Fresh tears stream freely down her cheeks.
"Yukia," a gentle voice comes from beside her. Making her slightly jump her head, turning towards the voice.
Cursing under her breathe, she still was unable to see him, her eyesight was still very blurry, however, being able to at least hear his voice ring in her ears, and recognizing his scent seemed to relax her.
Wiping at her tear-filled eyes, Yukia tries ridding them of the tears.
"Are you alright?" Gaara asked unsurely, Yukia seemed to be sleeping so peacefully.
When she suddenly started screaming. The sudden sound causing him to jump up from the chair he'd been sitting in to try and wake her up
Yukia shakes her head at his words, leaping forwards she wraps her uninjured arm around him, hugging him tightly. Feeling him slightly tense at her sudden touch, it was still new to him having someone hug him. He slowly wraps his arms around her, feeling her tremble in his arms as more tears flow down her eyes.
"You're ok, right? you're not hurt?" Yukia questions through her sobs, her eyes peeking up at him, peering over him making completely sure he was not injured. "Is everyone ok?"
"I'm fine, I'm not hurt." Gaara answers her first question, his eyes narrowing. Why did she ask if he was ok? "The others have all returned."
"Oh, thank goodness, I'm glad there all back," Yukia replies lowly before, gently pulling away from him, wiping away more tears on her cheeks. And trying to suck up the tears that were still threatening to fall down her cheeks.
Yukia knew how bad it would feel to lose her friend. She knew how badly it would hurt her, especially if she, where to lose them to that evil man.
Yet her dreams still tormented her. They scared her into thinking they were killed by Debalo. Even when she woke up, she still held flashes of the nightmares in her mind.
"I'm sorry if I scared you," Yukia whispers in a low voice, her head turning to look at the thrown covers laying back on the bed.
"Where you having a nightmare?" he questions carefully, not wanting to upset her further. Casting him a small glance, Yukia nods her head at his words. Not seeing the point in lying to him.
"Yea," she mutters, not really wanting to talk about it she silently hoped he didn't ask about what it was she was dreaming. She didn't want to tell him. About...
"Can I go see the others?" She asked, biting her lip she wanted to know they were ok too. "I just need to know they're all ok,"
Standing up, Gaara offers her his hand. She blinks at him. A smile graced her lips. As she took his hand, allowing him to help her to her feet, she was a bit wobble still, but otherwise, she was doing a bit better at standing. Perhaps the poison was starting to weaken? Shizuna had healed her the best she could. But there was still small strains of poison in her system. But the poison was so week to possibly do much damage. Still, Gaara helping her was very much appreciated.
Walking towards the door, both teens exist the bedroom, making their way down the hallway heading towards the living room. Yukia perking her head up at a familiar voice.
"Where are they, they should have been back already" Cyborg worriedly says as he passed back and forth in front of the door debating on going out to check on his teammates that bright light that came to the sky a while back, as well as a loud explosion, really worried him
Cyborg pauses when his eyes land on the short red-headed girl coming towards him, her eyes open though he doubts she was able to see properly due to her kinad of stumbling over her feet.
Suddently wrapping her arms around the robotic teen's neck, she hugs him tightly. A surprised look comes to Cyborg's face. He didn't expect her to hug him. He had heard her scream a few times from the room and was about to go check on her till she stopped screaming possibly thanks to Gaara who was watching her now from his spot on a nearby wall though he tried to make it seem as though he didn't care, Cyborg knew better.
"Where are the others?" Yukia asked, not seeing the other three titans anywhere.
"Robin and Starfire went out with a few of the leaf and sand ninja to help keep watch over the village again. I'm sure they should be back soon," Cyborg tells her. Honestly, no point lying to her she knew they weren't there. "Raven stayed back she's probably down there with Beastboy."
Her head dips as she hears what he said, a worried look casting onto her face, silently wishing for her two friends' safety. And the safety of the others she worried about them to.
"Is Beastboy okay?" she wonders quietly. Catching the last words from his mouth. Cyborg gives her a smile with a nod of his head.
"Yes, yuks, I'm fine," a cheerful voice comes from behind her, causing her yo jump up. Shocked expression on her face as she turned to face the green teen standing behind her, a cheeky grin crossing his face.
Raven stood beside him, seeming ready to help him if he were to fall. It was possible he seemed ready to fall over. But he didn't want to stay in bed anymore
Without warning, Yukia leaps forwards her arms, wrapping tightly around the green boys neck, causing Beastboy to stumble backward a few feet. He eventually regains his balance, his green eyes blinking unsurely down at her. As he gets over the shock of her hugging him. He carefully wraps an arm around her waist, hugging her gently. Cheeky grin back in place.
"I'm so sorry, bb." Yukia apologizes as she carefully releases him. And steps back. Her head turned to the ground as she kicked at invisible dirt. "If we had run instead of fighting that thing, you wouldn't have been hurt, I'm so very sorry."
"You only wanted to fight it to keep it ftom hurting more people I understand yuks," he points out knowinly. "I don't blame you. We were all a bit reckless."
"Where you having a nightmare?" Cyborg asked curiously. "You started screaming, though before we could go check on you, you stopped,"
"It was horrible," Yukia replies honestly as she takes a seat on the couch. Her head leaned back, her eyes peering up at the ceiling. "Gaara, luckily was there, I guess it could have been worse,"
"It seemed bad enough," Gaara simply replies, taking a seat beside her on the couch. A smile graced her lips when she looked over at him. "You need something for them not sleeping isn't good for you at all,"
"I know, but I am not sure what I could take for them," she admits softly. As she released a small breath.
"So the others went out, I take it. When should they be getting back?" Raven questions her voice toneless as she spoke.
Robin should have been resting to but the titan leader was too stubborn to just lay around and do nothing. And of course Starfire would stay by his side no matter what the dangers where.
"Kekashi wanted to be sure the enemy was gone before heading back to the leaf village," a dried female voice comes from the hallway all five teens turning there heads to spot Akira and Shizuna entering the room. Sakura and, Ino taking step behind them.
"Shikamaru, choji, Naruto, kankuro and temari also went out with them" Shizuna puts in. "If they don't find anything we may head back to the village in the morning, if where all up for the travel,"
Sniffing at the air a minute, Yukia tilts her head forwards her eyes gazing over the small group around the room, her face retorting up into a worried scowl, face palming. Of course, when she found out they were mostly all ok, something bad just had to happened. This world didn't know when to rest did it? Why? Just why?
"We have to get out of here now!" she growls suddenly, as she quickly stands up.
Like it was on cue to her voice, a fiery piece of wood rains down in front of the door, making Cyborg quickly jump away from it. The doorway now covered in fire, blocking the door.
"The boathouse, its on fire," Beastboy exclaims worriedly, his eyes wide. A nervous look coming to his face. As he jumps back from another piece of falling fiery wood.
'I got to get them out of here'
Yukia tells herself internally, a loud crack above her head. Causes her head to snap up, another piece of fiery wood falls down towards her, if she hadn't been pulled away by something wrapping around her wrist and tugging her backwards, she may have been squashed, sweetdroping. She looks at the boy beside her.
"Thank you," Yukia tells Gaara with a small nod of her head. ''Your reaction seems to be quicker than mine, "
"Good save." Cyborg puts in relief coming to his face. As the top half of the boathouse begins to cave in dark grayish smoke quickly. Feels in the living room, as fire now surrounds the room. Blocking them inside the room.
A few coughs coming from a few people's lips. The smoke was clearly making it harder to breathe. Yukia mauls over in her head on what to do? She maybe could force out a shield. There was no telling how long she would be able to hold it up she still hadn't regaided her full strength yet.
A small blue bubble suddenly pops up into the room, as Yukia focuses more of her energy into it, the bubble grows bigger, surrounding the small group, and, blocking out a bit of the white smoke.
"Yukia..." Cyborg trails off as his teammate falls to her knees, low coughs coming from her lips.
"You shouldn't have this up yet," Gaara tells her, bending down beside her a hand on her shoulder.
"I can't hold it long," Yukia says her eyes hooded as she spoke. "Hurry, up and leave. I'll hold it up till you all get out the door."
Placing her arm around his shoulder, Gaara helps her back to her feet.
"Hurry!!..." Yukia hissed sweat beads rolling down her forehead as she struggled to keep her shield up.
"Thank you." Akira says though her voice was still tonelessly. She quickly darts towards the fiery door. Thanks to the shield, the flames were not able to touch her as she barrels through them. The shield was keeping her safe for the most part. She still felt a small sting from them. But it definitely could have been worse.
Raven, helping Beastboy was the next ones to excit the burning building. With Sakura, ino, Shizuna, and Cyborg quickly following after them..
Gaara easily helps Yukia outside as well, the shield quickly vanishing as they exit the boathouse. Yukia breaths out real heavy, a tired look clear on her face.
"That was close." Ino sighs to herself her hand rubbing the back of her neck.
"Yea, really, I thought we were going to be goners for sure," Shizuna chirps up softly. Her brown eyes gazing up at
The once beautiful boathouse with the beautiful structure now sinking deep into the water the hot fire hissing as it meets the coolness of the water, white steam immediately shooting up into the already Smokey sky above thrm.
"Will you be ok?" Gaara whispers lowly to the girl lending against him keeping her on her feet that one shield was enough to run her strength completely out if he wasn't helping her stand, she would probably have. been back on her knees.
"Yes," she answered him lowly a light smile on her lips. She was glad to know they were all ok. That was all that mattered. They were safe. Hopefully, the others were alright
