A/N: I am pleased to present the latest installment of the All Worlds Alliance Chronicles: Assorted Stories. I would like to express my appreciation for the favorable reception of the preceding chapter.
Number01BlazblueFan - I'm keeping that to myself for now.
SPS Prop - Actually, no, the timing is just a coincidence. If it weren't for the frustratingly slow uploads I've been dealing with over the past few months, I would have kicked off this storyline way back in August or even at the very beginning of September. A Halloween special? That's not even on my radar right now.
Below are additional characters with single names who have now been given both a last name and a first name in this story:
Tadakuni - Masaki Tadakuni (Taken from the actor who played Tadakuni from the live-action The Daily Lives of High School Boys movie)
Takao - Shizuka Takao (Taken from her JP seiyuu, Shizuka Itou)
Taki - Taki Fuuma (Since she's part of the Fu-Ma Clan)
Teddie - Teddie Kumakichi (His Japanese nickname by Yosuke Hanamura and Chie Satonaka)
Teresa - Teresa Faintsmile (Taken from her title, Teresa of the Faint Smile)
And with that done, let's get this chapter on the go!
Disclaimer: I do not possess any characters featured in this story, unless they are my original characters who seldomly appear.
-EARTH 699-
-New Salem, Oregon-
Monster High
The Monster High creepateria was buzzing with chatter as everyone rehashed the latest prank played by the mischievous students from New Salem High. The incident was still fresh on everyone's minds and had become the hot topic of the day.
Amidst the bustling crowd, you could spot a bunch of familiar faces: Abbey Bominable, Andy Beast, Cesaro Oohori, Clawd Wolf, Cleo de Nile, Eyera, Frankie Stein, Gillington "Gil" Webber, Kurumu Kurono, Lagoona Blue, Lloyd Irving, Manny Taur, Megumi Aino, Meowlody, Mizore Shirayuki, Moka Akashiya, Purrsephone, Rochelle Goyle, Seiji Sagara, Toralei Stripes, Venus McFlytrap and Yuuki Asaba.
Suddenly, a dramatic entrance caught everyone's attention as a figure zoomed into the room, gliding across the floor and leaving a trail of steam in their wake.
The figure is a teenage-looking female robot with an average height, she had a slender frame and copper-brown complexion, she had several patches and bolts around her body, she had a waist-length wavy black hair with blue streaks and she had copper-colored eyes with cogwheel-shaped irises. She wears a cropped black vest over a blue top with diamond designs, she wears a black corset with gear patterns wrapped around her midsection, she wears a blue metal skirt-like overlay over a black leather pencil skirt, she wears a pair of brown laced rocket boots, a pair of goggles on top of her head and a single blue armguard on her right arm. This is Robecca Steam.
Robecca took a seat at a table where Rochelle and Venus were already sitting with a third figure playing the guitar alongside them.
The figure is a teenage girl with an average height, she had a slender frame and a fair complexion, she had a chin-length pinkish-red hair and she had red-colored eyes. She wears a white sailor uniform with blue bib-like collar and pink ribbon tie, she wears a blue miniskirt, a pair of black boots and a pair of arm bands. This is Masami Iwasawa.
"Sorry I'm late." Robecca apologized, "What did I miss?" she inquired.
"The students from New Salem High!" Rochelle answered, "They attacked us in the broad of daylight!" she revealed.
Robecca frowned in response, "They did?" she uttered out loud in disbelief, "Oh, that really grinds my gears!" she hissed.
"It's not like it's surprising." Venus spoke up, "They're wrecking our school just like they're wrecking the environment!" she remarked.
Masami couldn't help but laugh a bit, "You totally sounded like a hippie there, Venus." she said with a playful smile.
Venus rolled her eyes, "Masami, seriously, I'm not a hippie." she dismissed.
Masami played a little tune on her guitar while smiling mischievously, "Oh, really?" she mused, "Could've fooled me." she teased.
Venus deadpanned, "I can totally hear the sarcasm, you know." she complained in bemusement.
"Okay, what's our next move?" Robecca questioned.
"Honestly, I'm not sure." Rochelle said with a bit of a sigh, "I'm just not even clear on why I mentioned it in the first place." she confessed.
Just then, Gil and Lagoona walked past their table.
"You don't think that stuff from the old film is coming true, do you?" Gil asked nervously.
"Oh, Gil, don't be such a 'fraidy catfish." Lagoona advised with a smile, "It was one little prank." she pointed out.
"I can't help but think about what Mister Jinbe's going to say about all this." Gil thought out loud.
"Oh, he's not going to be happy, no doubt." Lagoona replied rather frankly, "But he'll be the voice of reason when it comes to dealing with it." she added in assurance.
Gil and Lagoona strolled by while passing Clawd, Lloyd and Manny along the way.
"I'd like to see 'em try it again." Manny growled with a fist pounding on his palm.
"They're just lucky I'm not allowed to chase cars anymore." Clawd shared with a frown.
"So, the not-so-great news is that Chapatsu and the rest of the gang didn't manage to get their hands on the two knuckleheads who messed with our school." Lloyd shared with a hint of disappointment, "But, the upside is, they found their ridiculous hummer and decided to give it a little swim in the lake nearby." he added with a smirk.
"That's totally sick, dude!" Manny exclaimed while clearly excited.
"Figures." Clawd commented with a knowing smile, "They're always full of surprises." he mused.
Clawd, Lloyd and Manny then casually strolled by the table where Meowlody, Purrsephone and Toralei were sitting.
Toralei purred, "What they did was sneaky, mean, conniving and underhanded." she listed off, "I have to say, I admire it!" she admitted with a grin, "We should totally get them back." she beckoned and her companions meowed in agreement.
Cleo then walked towards their table, "That's the first thing you've ever said that I agree with!" the mummy declared with a grin that she shared with Toralei.
"Attention students." the voice of Headless Headmistress Bloodgood spoke through the speakers, "I know you're all a little on edge right now, but as your headmistress, I must urge you not to retaliate." she advised.
As soon as she starts talking, Keiichi Maebara and Ken Taiga pop into view, each one lugging a box - Keiichi with eggs and Ken with toilet paper. But when they catch her words, they both do this awkward little dance, like they're trying to reverse without bumping into anything. They manage to sneak back out of the room, trying not to make eye contact, like they were never there in the first place.
"We can't afford to ignite any old tensions between us." the voice of Headless Headmistress Bloodgood reasoned, "Especially this close to Halloween!" she exclaimed with a megaphone effects added to the sound of her voice.
After she finished speaking, a bunch of bats suddenly shot out from the speakers and headed straight for Abbey, Frankie, Megumi and Seiji. Frankie totally freaked out and started waving a magazine around like crazy.
Megumi shook her head, "Why is she using a megaphone over the mic?!" she exclaimed while wincing.
Seiji shrugged in response, "It's probably just one of her quirks." he assumed.
"Quirks, schmirks!" Megumi dismissed while rolling her eyes, "That sound was about to blow my eardrum out!" she complained when she saw that Frankie looked down in the dumps and decided to change the subject, "Hey, Frankie, what's up?" she asked while genuinely concerned.
Frankie sighed, "I guess Cleo was right." she conceded, "My magazine was lying." she admitted, "Maybe you just can't trust normies on Halloween." she declared.
"Don't stress, Frankie." Megumi reassured, "We're totally set for a kickass Halloween at the Uzumaki Villa!" she exclaimed.
"Hold up, Megumi!" Seiji chimed in, "It's only March there, remember?" he reminded.
"Oops, right." Megumi responded with a touch of embarrassment, "I spaced out on that." she admitted.
All of a sudden, Spectra Vondergeist appeared with her arms full of books. "Look out!" she called out but some of the books slipped from her grasp and hit the floor, "Oops!" she exclaimed rather apologetically, "I'm in such a rush!" she explained with a bit of an awkward laugh, "I'm working on a story that's going to be spook-tastic!" she said with her eyes lighting up with excitement.
Seiji folded his arms and raised an eyebrow, "I hope it's not like the kind of stuff Araya comes up with." he said while sounding a bit skeptical.
Spectra giggled back at him, "Don't worry, I'm not planning on telling tales like she does." she promised while trying to ease his concerns.
Frankie picks up a book, "What are all these?" she asked.
Megumi grabbed another book, "Why do old books look so thick?" she asked.
"They've always been like that, you know?" Seiji answered.
"I got them from the old library in the catacombs beneath the school." Spectra answered, "It's all about the history of Halloween." she shared, "I'm hoping to find something juicy to drive up my web-hits." she stated.
Abbey then picks up a piece of paper, "Something like this?" she assumed with everyone gathering around her.
"What is it?" Frankie asked.
"Is map of catacombs." Abbey answered, "Secret room." she uttered out loud, "A place called..." she trailed.
"The Hall of Halloween." Operetta read out loud with a dramatic flourish before spinning around to play a spooky melody on her organ piano and the eerie tune made Abbey, Frankie, Megumi, Seiji and Spectra all jump with a startle.
The setting had shifted to the shadowy catacombs beneath Monster High where the group had come to seek Operetta's help.
Operetta chuckled out loud, "Ghouls, I spend a lot of time in the catacombs and I ain't never heard of it." she admitted.
Frankie steps forward, "Operetta, please help us." she pleaded, "You're the only one who knows their way around this place!" she pointed out, "I need to know the real story about this awful day." she reasoned.
Operetta thought about it, "Well, I suppose it don't hurt nothin' to look." she admitted before getting up her from stool and grabbed a nearby torch, "But don't get your hopes up, sweet pea." she advised.
And with that, Abbey, Frankie, Megumi, Operetta, Seiji and Spectra set off with the map, heading into the depths of the catacombs. They crossed a really long bridge with a scary drop full of fog beneath them, and then they had to get into a boat to paddle through an eerie underground cavern.
Upon securing the boat at the dockside facilities, everyone are requested to disembark and continue their journey on foot.
"Ooh!" Frankie coeed out loud, "I'm just sparking at the bolts to find out what's down here!" she exclaimed in excitement and the bolts on her neck are indeed sparking.
"Easy there, Frankie." Megumi advised.
Moments later, they arrived at a narrow corridor, which could only be traversed by crawling.
"Perhaps we should proceed in a line." Abbey proposed.
Seiji stepped ahead, "I shall take the lead." he offered.
"Why is that?" Megumi inquired in confusion.
Seiji's cheeks flushed slightly, "It seems to be the most appropriate option." he answered before beginning to navigate the confined space.
Upon noticing Seiji's reaction, Abbey, Frankie and Megumi simultaneously grasped the implication and blushed as they adjusted their skirts.
Operetta, the sole female wearing trousers, found the situation amusing, "Such chivalry." she quipped.
In accordance with Seiji's direction, the group proceeded to navigate the constricted passage on their hands and knees.
"Bit of a tight squeeze." Frankie quipped lightheartedly.
Upon arriving at the termination of the narrow corridor, Seiji encountered a small entryway adorned with an emblem of a jack o'lantern. Just as he was about to extend his hand towards it, Spectra unexpectedly materialized on the other side, passing effortlessly through the barrier, surprising him a bit.
"You seem to have taken your time." Spectra inquired before promptly re-entering the passage.
Once Seiji pushed open the quaint Halloween door, everyone carefully emerged from the cramped corridor, taking their time to step out.
"I'm sorry, darlin'." Operetta apologized, "There is no way there's anything in here..." she was saying but only to be greeted by a certain sight.
"Whoa!" Frankie uttered in awe.
Spread out before them was an elegant Halloween ballroom, dimly lit and giving off an eerie yet sophisticated vibe. The stairs and pillars were crafted from what looked like glass, reflecting the flickering lights.
"Alright, you guys!" Operetta exclaimed in excitement, "Let's go see what's down there!" she beckoned while inviting everyone to follow as they all rushed down to the lower level of the enchanting space.
Spectra checks a book inside a crystal pillar, "These things are older than I am!" she commented before taking a photo of the item with her phone.
"I'm afraid to ask what your age is, Spectra." Megumi uttered out loud.
Frankie looks around, "I don't get it." she admitted, "All this kinda makes Halloween look fun!" she commented.
All of a sudden, Frankie accidentally triggered something on the floor and a holographic screen lit up with a fiery jack o'lantern, leaving everyone absolutely amazed.
"Wow, that's some pretty cool graphics." Seiji complimented.
But their amazement quickly turned to shock when a skeleton animatronic, dressed in a tattered pink dress, suddenly dropped down right in front of them. The thing had sparks flying out of its neck, which was totally unexpected.
"Welcome to the Hall of Halloween!" the animatronic expressed, "An interactive tour through one of the world's greatest holidays." it revealed, "Halloween was originally created to honor and praise all of the monsters of the world!" it shared.
"I knew we had it all wrong!" Frankie cheered.
"It started as a way for the humans to give thanks to their monster brothers and sisters for years of friendship." the animatronic began explaining, "Every October 1st, the monsters would put on their finest and most over-the-top fashions in preparation for a night of celebration!" it furthered.
"Oh, beautiful!" Spectra uttered out loud.
"While the monsters got ready, the humans would put on elaborate costumes, makeup and masks as a tribute to the monsters." the animatronic shared, "After they were all dressed up, they would go door to door performing tricks and handing out treats." it added, "Candy anyone?" it offered while tilting down a giant jack o' lantern which then unleashes a large number of candies to the floor.
Abbey then picks up a candy, "Abbey, that's, like, super old." Frankie pointed out.
Nonetheless, Abbey still ate the candy, "Candy, like cheese from yak, is better with age." she replied, "Mmm!" she mumbled out loud, "And super delicious!" she added while Frankie held her mouth to keep herself from vomiting.
"A yeti's digestive system is quite something to think about." Seiji reflected.
"They would even carve pumpkins with the faces of their favorite monsters on them." the animatronic narrated, "All this to celebrate their wonderful and unique friends." it revealed.
"This is, like, the coolest holiday ever!" Frankie cheered.
"The way Halloween started in this world is so unique!" Megumi commented with her eyes sparkling with excitement, "I absolutely adore it!" she admitted.
"At the end of the day, monsters and humans would gather in the center of the town for the biggest party of the year!" the animatronic furthered, "The humans in their costumes and the monsters in their outrageous apparel danced the night away, vowing to do this every year." it stated, "And that is the story of Halloween." it concluded with a bow before zipping back up to the ceiling.
"Come on!" Frankie exclaimed, "We've gotta tell everyone about this!" she beckoned.
And with that, Abbey, Frankie, Megumi, Operetta, Seiji and Spectra took off running, all hyped up about the cool thing they found and totally stoked to tell everyone about it.
Meanwhile in the courtyard of Monster High, several students can be observed clustered together, their faces reflecting a mix of worry and concern as they share glances with one another.
Amidst the bustling crowd are Andy, Clawd, Cleo, Deuce Gorgon, Eyera, Gil, Gory Fangtell, Heath Burns, Holt Hyde, Howleen Wolf, Kipling, Kurumu, Lagoona, Lloyd, Manny, Masami, Meowlody, Mizore, Moka, Nobuhiko Mitsuo, Oohori, Purrsephone, Robecca, Rochelle Goyle, Sloman "Slo Mo" Mortavitch, Toralei Stripes, Venus and Yuuki.
At a nearby grave, the base popped open like a trapdoor where Abbey, Frankie, Megumi, Operetta, Seiji and Spectra emerged. They promptly noticed the gathering and hurried over, eager to share their discovery.
"Guys, guys, guys!" Frankie called out in excitement, "We have to tell you something huge!" she exclaimed.
"Not now, Frankie." Cleo admonished.
"The students from New Salem High came back!" Gil revealed.
Before everyone, there are many jack-o'-lanterns scattered on the ground, smashed or impaled by sticks, with their contents splattered around the surrounding area.
Mitsuo folded his arms, "I suppose they did not like having their Hummer truck thrown into a lake." he commented.
Kurumu responded with a scoff, "Then they should not have attacked our school to begin with." she chided.
Heath then picks up a jack-o-lantern while chuckling, "That's the best they can do? " he mocked when he noticed a rope attached to the object, leading all over the rooftop of the front building of their school. When he tugged on it, he accidentally triggered a trap, causing hundreds of jack-o-lanterns to hurl down towards them from above, "Uh-oh..." the flaming-haired boy uttered in dread.
"Take cover!" Yuuki commanded.
Upon hearing Yuuki's war cry, everyone began running around to avoid being struck by the jack-o-lanterns. Eyera was struck twice and causes him to crash to the ground while Mitsuo was hit in the groin and his eyes crossed before he tumbled backwards to the ground like a rocking chair.
"Watch out!" Seiji shouted.
"A little late for those guys!" Megumi shouted back.
Heath frantically surveys his surroundings before crouching down and shielding his head with his arms. Abbey quickly steps in and employs her ice powers to conjure an ice wall, shielding both Heath and herself from the incoming barrage of falling jack-o-lanterns.
Heath sighed in relief, "Thanks, Abbey." he expressed in gratitude.
"Do not mention it." Abbey reassured while helping him up by grabbing his hand.
Cleo was heard shrieking as she discovered herself covered in pumpkin waste, "Again?" she complained with a frown and her face contorted in anger, "Those clothes-ruining animals!" she screamed loudly.
Meanwhile, a group of raccoons nearby were munching on clothes from a trash bin when they heard Cleo's shouting, the critters looked at each other and shrugged it off.
Turning back to the group, Manny pointed a finger at Abbey and Heath, "Hey!" the minotaur shouted, "Heath just got saved by a girl!" he mocked which causes some of the guys to laugh.
Embarrassed by this, Heath quickly let go of Abbey's hand, much to her confusion.
At that moment, the headmistress emerged from the main entrance of the school, "Attention, students, attention!" she called out, "Will everyone please proceed to the Clawditorium in five minutes for an emergency assembly!" she instructed.
As the crowd murmured among themselves, Holt anxiously glanced at his phone, "Come on, come on, baby, don't die on me now!" he pleaded, "I need my music to soothe me!" he reasoned when the battery depleted, "No, no, no!" he exclaimed in panic and in a burst of flames, he transformed back into his human form as Jackson Jekyll.
Jackson quickly scanned his surroundings before hastily departing.
"Jackson!" Frankie called out, "Slow down!" she beckoned.
"Oh, sorry." Jackson apologized, "I need to charge my iCoffin!" he reasoned, "It's not safe to be a..." he trailed, "... me right now." he admitted in dread.
Yuuki shook his head, "Chizuru is fortunate not to be here at the moment." he remarked.
"I, on the other hand, prefer to be where I am currently." Oohori replied with a blank expression.
Several minutes later, all individuals in the courtyard have assembled in the clawditorium as the headmistress takes the stage.
"Settle down, please." the headmistress ordered, "It is now clear that the situation with the normies in the next town has become much worse." she shared with a solemn look, "Until Halloween is over, when you are outside of Monster High, please disguise yourselves, hide." she instructed, "Do not let anyone know you are a monster." she added, "And make sure you have an AWA member to accompany you." she concluded.
Frankie then stood up from her seat, "Wait!" she interrupted, "Hide who we are?" she questioned, "Headmistress Bloodgood, this goes against everything we've ever been taught at Monster High." she remarked before turning to everyone, "We shouldn't be embarrassed of our differences." she beckoned, "We should be proud!" she ordered.
"She's right!" Venus exclaimed in agreement.
"And we used to be proud!" Frankie recalled, "Look!" she beckoned, "No one knows this but Halloween used to be for monsters." she shared, "We were celebrated and admired, not chased and ridiculed." she furthered, "So I say it's time we stop being afraid and take back our holiday!" she declared with everyone cheering in response while the headmistress gasped in concern.
"For all monsters!" Rochelle hollered.
"Let's take back Halloween!" Manny suggested, "By force!" he roared and upon reflection, Frankie gasped in shock as she realized her actions.
"Yeah, we're with you!" Clawd shouted in agreement.
"No, I did not intend to... " Frankie trailed while attempting to calm down her fellow students who were eager for revenge, "Guys, guys! " she called out but it was too late as everyone rushed out of the clawditorium, "What have I done? " she uttered out loud in regret.
Abbey, Megumi and Seiji then strolled over to Frankie, "Frankie..." Megumi started with her face blank, "... your speech had some good points but honestly, the aggressive tone was a bit much." she remarked.
"And now..." Seiji added, "... everyone seems to have taken your speech the wrong way." he pointed out.
Frankie rubbed her forehead, "I really messed that up." she confessed.
Meanwhile, the members of AWA remained seated, casually enjoying their popcorn and soda.
"So, what's our position on this?" Mitsuo asked.
and in response, his friends started tossing things at him.

Natsu Dragneel stands in the rugged mountains, facing off against a massive dragon that towers at an impressive 20 feet, its scales shimmering in a striking red hue.
"Do you see this line right here?" Natsu pointed out.
"Yeah?" the dragon responded, "Yeah..." it trailed.
"That means that my property starts right here!" Natsu declared.
"That is not what that–" the dragon tried to say but is interrupted.
"It goes aaaaall the way and that's my fourth of this mountain!" Natsu remarked.
"That is not what that means, your property starts at the pine tree dude, at the pine tree!" the dragon argued.
"You're fucking stupid, go get a surveyor, he's gonna tell you the same thing that I'm telling you!" Natsu argued back.
"Oh shut up dude, what are you gonna-" the dragon growled, "... you get a surveyor." it beckoned before waving a hand, "Whatever man..." it dismissed before walking off.
