Antex-The Legendary Zoroark: Glad you liked it and the changes I made. It has been a while since I saw the show so I believe I mixed up the times when Madara dies. You can just think of Black Zetsu making sure Madara's body is still safe.

Amerikhan786: glad you liked it and I tend to move away from Naruot wanting blindly to become Hokage, since if he should want to be Hokage, he should have a better more believable reason. Naruto will have a different fighting style than he did in the original. As for the Kaguya pairing, it could very well be something that may happen.

LordDarkness89: yeah, the small bit where she cries for her sons shows she does have motherly instincts. She just wasn't in the show long enough to give her much.

Codywhite162: glad you like it. I want to give Kaguya more of a character than what she had in the show. I will be building on it as the story grows.

NaruLemon Stories: several other authors I talked with already established that Kishimoto did not know how to write a female character. Tsunade is honestly one of the very very few that has a character to her. Konan is cool but her emotionless personality seems like it could be a cop out of making an official character for her. I try to keep characters within their personality but I'm not just gonna have them be as bland as they were in the show. I give characters quirks, hobbies, or ticks that build on their character. OCs are ok but I try not to do that unless absolutely necessary.

Salazar1537: thanks, glad you like how I wrote Kaguya. As for pairing, yeah canon is nice but changing things up is fun. I am still not sure about the pairing but we will see where I go with it.

Gohanssjgod: I kinda don't want to bring in any of the other Otsusuki. The main reason is that I don't watch Boruto. The second reason is that having an Otsutsuki clan completely diminishes Kaguya's value and threat level. All of Naruto built up Madara and somewhat Kaguya, having a clan would just make them nothing more than super-powered Hyuga with a third eye.

Guest 1: I changed the story name because the first one was too long. "Lunar Legacy" is shorter and works with the story.

Guest 2: he didn't share the information with the other nations because most are not truly allied with Konoha. Suna is the only one that is allied and if the other nations learn that someone infiltrated the village, they could attempt it themselves. Kumo would suffer nothing from sharing that information.

Guest 3: the fact that Danzo had so many Sharingan eyes to use for his own purposes and his arm, means that no, they do not stop working after the death of the Uchiha. The fact that Shisui pulled out his own eye to give to Itachi should be a good clue as to how it would still work.

Dragon and Sword Master: well, they are overused tropes for Naruto fics. Danzo's fate will be revealed when it happens heh heh.

Chapter 4: Lessons at the Academy

Naruto slowly wrapped his bandana around his head and made sure his kimono was set correctly.

Over the years his attire didn't change much in look but color did slowly transition to look more like Kaguyas. Now, the kimono top's main color is white with a very light violet hue but the hems, edges, and high collar were dark orange as he still loved the color. He still had the tomoes on his sleeve but he now had one large white orb on his back that was encircled with ten smaller black orbs. He now had violet wrapping around his wrists that went halfway up his forearms and he had an obi belt of the same color around his waist to hold his kimono to his body as the lower part of the kimono reached his ankles. For his lower half, he wore gray shinobi pants with a kunai pouch attached to his right leg. For footwear, he had Anbu sandals that reached just below his pants.

Once he knew that he was set, he moved to the door and poked his head out into the hallway, looking around to see if he could catch any sight of his mother. Not seeing any sign of her, he slowly tiptoed into the hall as he moved past her room.

He started sleeping in his own room when he became ten as he wanted to have his own space. It wasn't really anything wrong with sleeping with her but he just felt like they should have some space.

He made it to the stairs and began to sweat as he knew that the stairs would squeak whenever anyone tried to go up or down them slowly. Figuring that he could bypass them, he lowered himself before he jumped down the stairs and landed quietly at the bottom. He smiled when he didn't make any sound at his landing and was about to make his way to the door until…

"Naruto."

He froze at the sound of his mother's voice and turned to see that she was sitting on the couch staring at him.

"Were you planning to leave without saying anything?"

He winced at that as that was the plan. "I uh….." Knowing that he wouldn't be able to lie to her, he slumped before nodding. "Sorry."

Kaguya stared at him for a moment before she patted the spot next to her. "I know that you are uncomfortable with what I ask of you but I do it out of concern for your wellbeing."

Naruto made his way toward her before he sat down at her side. "But do we have to do it? It always feels weird when you do it and what if we have another mock battle?"

Kaguya shifted to sit on her knees, facing him. "It should not be a problem since you have practiced the ability to hide them and you have the chakra reserves to maintain it for a significant amount of time."

Naruto grumbled at how she was right about that. In a quiet voice, he mumbled. "But it feels weird." He felt her place her hand on his head and he looked up to see her looking at him with a small smile. Feeling like he couldn't deny her when she showed her care, he sighed and lifted his head so that he would look directly at her. He shifted his eyes to her forehead in time for her third eye to open up. He stared at the eye for a few seconds till his own blue eyes changed into a purple rinnegan. Once that was set, he blinked a few times before they changed back to his blue eyes. He rubbed them to get the feeling to stop before he let out a sigh.

Kaguya smiled as she grabbed his head and pressed it to her chest in a hug. She smiled as she felt him hug her back. They stayed that way for a minute before she let him go. "Enjoy your time there for me."

Naruto nodded with a smile before getting up from the couch and walking to the door. "I'll see you when I get back." He waved at her before he opened the door and left the house.

Kaguya smiled softly at the door before she got up from the couch herself and decided that she should enjoy her own time at the park. She went to get herself ready for her own time while Naruto was away.

Naruto smiled as he saw the morning sun and bounced on his feet before he jumped up toward the rooftops. Once on the roof of one of the buildings, he looked toward the monument and smiled at the face of his father. "Morning, Dad, gonna be a genin soon. Wonder what you would say to me before the graduation exam." He knew about Minato Namikaze being his father after an incident that had his mother asking the third Hokage about letting him into the academy.

~flash back~

Kaguya and Naruto were in Hiruzen's office when the woman brought up the idea of Naruto becoming part of the shinobi corp.

"I would actually appreciate it if he was taken into the academy." Hiruzen smiled at the two as he heard of the request to allow him into the academy.

Naruto smiled brightly as he asked. "Really?!" He jumped up and down as he was slightly worried that he wouldn't be allowed in. "yatta!"

Kaguya gave a slight tilt to her head as she asked. "I had assumed that there would be more of a need to convince you to allow him in. Is there a reason you so easily allowed this?"

Hiruzen looked at the boy who was jumping around his office at the news. "I just know the kind of potential the boy has. Should he have chosen not to, I would be the one to ask you to enroll him into the academy." He made sure to lower his voice so that only she would hear him. "His parents had talent in many different aspects and it would be a shame if we never get the chance to see how far he would go." He stood up from his chair and looked out the window onto the village. "They gave much to the village and I would like to see the boy enjoy the life his parents led. And with what he is, he would need the training to protect not only himself but those he cares about."

Kaguya's stoic expression changed ever so slightly with the slight upturning of the side of her lips. "He has said as much to me as well."

Hiruzen nodded before looking back to the woman in time to notice Naruto had stopped jumping around. He looked at the boy and saw that he was looking at something. "What are you so focused on, Naruto?"

Naruto didn't turn his head as he was looking up at something.

Hiruzen grew worried that something must be wrong with the boy and walked around his desk and made his way toward the boy. It was as he got closer that he realized what the boy was looking at. He was about to say something until.

"Look, it's me in the future!" Naruto suddenly turned his head toward the adults and pointed up at what he was looking at.

Hiruzen facefaulted at the sudden exclamation as that was not what he expected the boy to say.

Kaguya moved to stand behind the boy and looked up at the picture. She saw that it was a man who had the same color and style of hair as Naruto but with a bit longer sideburns. She knew immediately that this was Naruto's father, Minato Namikaze. It would be impossible not to see the similarities between the two. She had never seen a proper image of the man so now she knew what he looked like. But it was clear to her as well as Naruto the relation.

Naruto put a hand to his chin as he looked at the picture. "Mmm, my eyes are brighter though, why did they change and become smaller."

Hiruzen got out of his shock before he chuckled at that. "It is not you, Naruto, it is your father." This was not how he would have liked for the boy to find out but this was honestly better than the best-case scenario he could think of.

Naruto stared at the Hokage with wide eyes before he looked back at the picture. He stared at it for a second before he smiled. "Wow! My dad looks so cool!"

Hiruzen moved to stand next to the boy and looked at the image. "Yes, he was." He began to tell stories about the man to the boy, making sure not to clue anything about Kushina. Part of him wanted to tell the boy about his real mother, but it was not his place to tell the boy that he was adopted by Kaguya. It was her story to tell, not his.

But he did plan on giving Naruto some jutsu notes that Minato and Kushina made during their time as shinobi. Minato had made some notes about his jutsus as the man would at times have to put a pause to his practice in order to do missions or paperwork when he was made Hokage.

Kushina had done the same thing but her notes were more about sealing and the ones she had made herself.

Hiruzen had taken a look at those notes and he could not help but find it amusing how childish the woman was at times. He chuckled when he thought about the note he put next to a diagram of a seal that would protect items from dust. The note said: This seal will make it easier for me to keep the house clean when I go out on missions so I don't come back to a house that has changed its color to gray.

Though he would be holding off on giving him those until he becomes a genin.

~Flashback end~

Feeling that he had spent enough time greeting his father a good morning, he turned around before he began to make his way toward the academy. "The exam is in a few days and I can't wait. Wonder what we will go over today?"

~Academy~

Naruto was sitting in his seat in the center-right row with Sasuke, next to the window. He was focused on the lecture as Iruka went over some of the fundamentals of jutsu.

"- with the manipulation of chakra in the form of hand signs, we can control the form the jutsu will take as we unleash it. One interesting thing is that many jutsu have the same hand signs and amount of chakra used, but depending on chakra nature's element, the jutsu could be completely different. Such as if you used the fifty hand signs for the Water Dragon jutsu but are using a Wind element, you won't get anything resembling a water dragon. The hand signs could lead to a jutsu that caused a wave or a slice of wind chakra. This is actually how many jutsu were discovered, mostly by accident." Iruka paused in speaking as he drew the symbols of the water element and wind element before writing down some of the hand sign names underneath.

Mizuki, the second sensei, wasn't present this day as he was out on a mission that took him out of the village for a few days.

Naruto leaned over to Sasuke, never taking his eyes off the front, and asked. "You ever think of making your own jutsu?"

Sasuke hummed in thought at the notion. "Maybe. Could make something signature to me but the Uchiha already have an abundant number of fire jutsu under our belt. Doubt I could make anything that isn't already in the archives."

Naruto smirked as he whispered out. "More like stole jutsu from others with your copy eyes." He pulled his head back in time to avoid the blind swing from the Uchiha.

"If I do make a jutsu, I'll use you as a test dummy." Came the growling response from the Uchiha.

Naruto silently chuckled at pissing off the next Uchiha heir.

"Hey, you two." Came the whispering voice of Ino Yamanaka as she leaned down in between the two to ask. "Are you two gonna fight again in the next sparring session or are you gonna switch things up again?"

Sasuke scoffed as he propped his head up with his hand. "Please, Naruto here is the only one who can give me a challenge."

Kiba guffawed as he leaned back in his seat with his arms behind his head and spoke in a normal tone. "More like he kicks your ass every time you fight."

"Kiba!"

Before the Inuzuka could say anything, Akamaru jumped off his head in time for a piece of chalk to strike him in the forehead. "ACK!" He fell off his seat and was folded in between the seat and the row behind him.

Iruka frowned at the fallen boy. "If you are so keen on ignoring my lesson, I will be forced to teach another one."

While the rest of the class laughed, Sasuke frowned at the truth about Kiba's statement. He knew he was good compared to other academy students, but Naruto was on another level. He didn't know what kind of training Naruto did or who taught him but it was clear in the win-to-lose ratio they had that Naruto was better. He hated it but he was not gonna deny it. He did see a benefit in this as every time they fought, he got better. Fighting someone better is always good for improvement and he was gonna make sure he got stronger.

He had to….. In order to find his brother.

Iruka sighed as he looked at the diagram he had on the board. "Where was I…. oh right." He pointed at the hand sign names. "Each of these hand signs manipulates the chakra within the body in a certain way in order to perform jutsu. This one moves the chakra to the lower part of the body, this one is to bring the chakra to the center, and this one moves the chakra to your arms. It is through these movements of chakra that allow us to mold it in a certain way before unleashing it. It is also a way to know what kind of jutsu it will be. Like most fire jutsu, end in this one, which is to bring the chakra to our head, and in turn, unleash it through the mouth." He then moved his hand to another hand sign. "This one can be seen as the final sign of many earth jutsu as a shinobi would need to slam their hand into the ground in order to manipulate the earth." He looked at the class as he continued. "But there is one thing you should all know. It is possible to execute a jtus with fewer hand signs but the effect might be diminished. For example: the Earth wall jutsu requires at most, twenty-five hand signs, but you do not need to do all twenty-five. You could do an Earth wall with fifteen hand signs but the durability of this defensive jutsu would be weaker. Now, it is said that if you have enough chakra control and knowledge of a jutsu, you could use the jutsu with no hand signs yet still retain the maximum capability of the jutsu. This is an extremely advanced bit of knowledge and it takes years if not decades of training in order to reach such a level, but it is possible." Looking at his class, he saw that they were interested in what he was saying, he smiled and figured that since they listened to the whole lecture, they could start the fun part of the day. "Alright, since everyone was good enough to listen to my lecture, we can start our sparring session a little early. So, everyone, let's head to the field."

The class cheered as they got up from their seats and headed toward the door to get the sparring started.

Naruto made it to the door before stopping. He looked back at the class and waited for the others to follow. "You coming?"

Sasuke walked up to Naruto and shoved him on the shoulder. "I'm already here."

"Please wait!"

Naruto watched as Hinata ran up to them so she could follow them out. "What took you?"

Hinata fell into step with the other two as they walked the hallway. "I was finishing up the notes from Iruka's lecture. I don't think my family will ever allow the use of any jutsu other than our Gentle Fist style but it is always interesting to learn about them."

Naruto looked between Sasuke and Hinata and thought it was weird how different these two clans were in their styles. "One clan focuses on copying as many jutsu as it can and see into the future of their opponent, the other tries to not use any jutsu other than their own fighting style and sees through their opponent."

Sasuke scoffed as they made it outside. "We use our dojutsu to their fullest, focusing on their strengths and pushing them to be better. Someone that doesn't have one wouldn't understand."

Naruto hid his smirk before he put his hands behind his head and walked ahead. "Yeah, yeah, almighty Uchiha."

Sasuke scowled at Naruto. "I'm going to end you."

Hinata looked at the two as she could see a fight ready to break out. "Please don't fight until the spar. You'll get in trouble if you fight without the instructor's supervision."

Naruto rolled his eyes before he droned out."Fin~e." He flinched as he felt a sharp pain in his eyes. He rubbed his eyebrows before he spoke in a less annoyed tone. "Alright, we won't fight unless it's in the ring."

Hinata and Sasuke noticed the flinch from the blonde but they chose not to comment on it.

It was something that most in the class noticed. There would be times when Naruto would flinch after he said something or did something before he changed his standing on what he just said. No one knew what it was and he never elaborated so they all just accepted that it was some weird thing about him.

The three joined the rest of the class as Iruka looked at the whole class.

Iruka thought about who should face whom. Before it used to be done one at a time but this is just simple taijutsu training not a full-on match, so nothing major will happen.

Other than one pairing that always escalates.

"Lady Hinata."

Iruka was brought out of his thoughts as someone else spoke up and he turned to see Neji Hyuga walking up to the group.

Hinata looked toward Neji and smiled. She stepped forward and bowed to him. "Neji, I did not expect to see you today."

Neji nodded as he gestured behind him. "My Team was given the time off so I decided to come here and overlook any taijutsu training that you may be doing. My team decided to join me."

Tenten and Lee walked up behind Neji as they smiled at the academy students.

Naruto looked at them and waved at them. "Hey, Neji, Lee, Tenten, how you three been?"

Naruto knew the team through association. Due to his mother saving Hinata from being kidnapped, and meeting up with the Hyuga clan, he met Neji and his father, and through Neji, he met his team.

Tenten smiled as she waved at the blonde. "Hey, Naruto, Neji wanted to make sure that Hinata was being properly trained so she would be ready when she gets her own team."

Lee held his fist in front of him as fire burned in his eyes. "Neji's youthful care for his cousin is a beacon for all who want to show their YOUTH!"

The sight of Lee caused most of the students to pale as they all huddled together away from the genin.

Naruto noticed the others move away from them and gave a slight tilt of the head before looking back at the genin and shrugging. He looked to his left and jabbed his thumb at his classmates. "Why are they moving away?"

Sasuke shook his head as Naruto would be the one who didn't understand how the others didn't want to be anywhere near the taijutsu specialist. "Let's just get to our spot and get started." He started moving to a spot they would use for their taijutsu practice.

Hinata watched as the two left before looking at Neji. She folded her hands in front of her before bowing. "Thank you for your guidance today."

Neji bowed back at Hinata before he gestured for her to follow him. They moved over to a spot away from the others.

Lee watched them head off to their practice before he looked at the group of students who were huddled together and looked like they were doing a group game of rock paper scissors.

The group threw their hands into the center of their circle, all of which could mean victory or defeat. After a second of having their hands thrown, most of them cheered, hugging one another as they all had happy tears in their eyes.

Kiba grabbed his hair and fell to his knees. "Damn it!"

Shino patted his shoulder in sympathy. "Do your best, Kiba. Think of this as a good chance to improve."

Kiba glared up at Shino as he could detect a small bit of smugness in his voice. "Easy for you to say. You won."

The game was to see who would face Lee or Tenten. The one that lost to most of the group would face Lee, and the one that won most would face Tenten.

Shino said nothing as he walked forward to stand in front of Tenten. "Would you allow me to train with you?"

Tenten nodded as she gestured for him to follow her. "This should be a good bit of training for me too. I need to figure out how to handle something like an Insect user's jutsu." once they were in their spot, she summoned a bo staff before spinning it at her side and getting into a stance.

Shino lifted his arms as he summoned a small swarm of insects.

Kiba cried as he watched the two head off. 'Lucky bastard.' He felt Akamaru tug at his sleeve and look at the dog who gave him a tilt of the head. "Yeah, yeah, the longer I take, the more agony I'm gonna get." With full begrudging trudging, he walked up to Lee. "Let's just get the training started."

Lee smiled brightly as he nodded with vigor. "Yes, let us show our youth to the others so that we may inspire them to work hard!?"

Kiba leaned back as the flames around the green-clad ninja were getting bigger. 'Damn you, Shino.'

The two made it to their position and took their stances. Lee, with a straight posture with one hand behind his back and the other held in front of him, while Kiba lowered himself to be on fours

Iruka looked at the separating groups and scratched his head. "I guess I don't have to concern myself about those.

After a few minutes of Iruka setting up the practice matches, most of them moved to their spot but their eyes were on the two main fights that would be more interesting watching them than taking part in them.

Naruto vs Sasuke

Hinata vs Neji

Sakura, Ino, Choji, and a few other students were watching Naruto and Saskue while the rest watched Hinata and Neji.

Sasuke held up his hands in a tiger seal to channel chakra in his body.

Hinata and Neji both held one of their hands into the same sign as they channeled chakra.

Sasuke's eyes shot open as they changed from black to red with one tomoe in each eye. "Sharingan!"

Both Hyugas shot open their eyes as the veins around their eyes bulged as they cried out. "Byakugan!"

Hinata and Neji lowered into their clan stance with one hand held out in front and the other at their side.

Sasuke widened his legs and arms as he kept his gaze on Naruto.

Naruto merely shifted his body to the side as he watched Sasuke. His happy expression became serious, which was reflected in his eyes as they became sharp and focused.

Hinata and Neji charged at each other before coming to a sliding stop a few feet from each other as they thrusted their palms at each other.

Palm strikes flew at their opponent as they also deflected any of the strikes they could. Since this was a training session, they did not input their chakra into their palms but the strength placed in the strikes would still cause some slight bruising.

Hinata shifted her arm to divert her strike to Neji's oncoming arm before she threw her other palm at Neji's stomach.

Neji used his other arm to smack away Hinata's low strike as he pulled his diverted arm back and thrust it again at Hinata's head.

Hinata tilted her head out of the way before she moved in on Neji to do a double palm strike to his sternum.

Neji shifted his feet so he would fall backward before somersaulting away from Hinata.

Hinata would not allow there to be distance between them so she chased after him.

Sasuke charged low at Naruto as his Sharingan predicted Naruto would lean his body away from the fist he would throw. Choosing to change that prediction, he instead kicked the ground to come into a flying spin kick. His eyes had trouble seeing what Naruto would do next but he would adapt as best he could with the limited power his Sharingan had at this time.

Naruto ducked under the spinning kick before he swayed under the follow-up Axe kick Sasuke threw using the momentum.

Sasuke kicked off the ground as Naruto came in and began to throw punches at his head. He blocked and deflected the attacks aimed at his head before he lowered his arms to block the kick at his left side. Grabbing the leg with his left hand, he pulled Naruto in to meet with a punch from his right.

Naruto let his other leg slip off the ground and fell under the fist. Shifting his hands to catch him before he hit the ground, he used his free leg to sweep Sasuke's feet from under him. Free from the Uchiha's grip, he pulled his legs in before mule kicking his stomach. As he kicked Sasuke, his eyes shifted to the side for a split second before focusing on his opponent.

Sasuke grunted in pain as he was kicked back from the force. Pushing through the pain, he landed on his feet and looked up, only to bring his arms up to block the punch aimed at his head.

Neji was impressed at how Hinata had improved but he saw that she was still not striking fast enough. Speeding up his movements he used his left hand to swipe away the strike to his head before thrusting his palm into her chest.

Hinata stepped back from the hit before she found herself on the defensive. She found herself losing ground as she now had to shift her body to avoid the strikes from Neji. She pivoted left, and right, and then leaned back to avoid the palm strikes. She lost her footing and fell on her back before having to roll to the side to avoid Neji's palm strike. Pushing herself off the ground, she was struck in the stomach as Neji closed in on her. The strike knocked the air out of her and she took a knee as she was now out of stamina. Her head hung as she panted from the match.

Neji stood over her as he deactivated his dojutsu. "You have improved your technique but you made several mistakes in the match. You lost your footing, causing you to be pushed back. You were too slow in your movements, allowing me to get the upper hand, and you lost focus when you tried to get back up. You must focus on everything you see when in a match so that you can see if your opponent is on the attack."

Hinata took a breath and looked up at Neji. With a nod, she pushed herself up from the ground. "I will work on those."

Neji nodded before smiling. "You have improved from last time, but you still have much to learn, especially in how to utilize the byakugan."

The two bowed to each other before they moved to the side in order to watch the other matches. They joined the group watching Naruto and Sasuke and watched as it seemed Naruto was pushing ahead.

Naruto deflected Sasuke's assault as he kept eye contact with the Uchiha. Choosing to show off a bit, he thrusted his palm into Sasuke's wrist to deflect the punch and spun around to face away from Sasuke and take a knee. His eyes shifted to the side as he detected Sasuke's next move and brought his hand up behind his head. He caught the kick that would have hit him before he stood up, causing Sasuke to flip back, before Naruto threw his foot back, kicking Sasuke back.

Sasuke flew a few feet before he rolled on the ground and then took a knee. The moment he looked up, he saw a fist being held in his face.

Naruto held his fist in Sauske's face before his serious look shifted into a happy smile. "I win."

Sasuke grit his teeth before he let out a huff. "Don't brag about it." He pushed himself up and deactivated his dojutsu. "You're still too fast for even my Sharingan to see. One of these days, I'm going to catch up and beat you into the ground."

Naruto gave a big toothy grin as he put his arms behind his head. "You're gonna have to train super hard to catch up to me." He turned around and looked at the sky innocently. "And your mom would be mad if I sent you home with a black eye with your Sharingan."

Sasuke punched Naruto's shoulder before the two of them moved to the other students.

Sakura and Ino nodded to the two with Ino complementing Sasuke.

"I thought for sure you were gonna get him this time. You've been training with your Sharingan so much in order to keep up with him."

Sasuke pursed his lip as he put his hands in his pockets. "With how this dobe keeps swaying around my strikes, it's almost like he has a dojutsu himself that allows him to predict my moves, almost like he has a Sharingan himself."

Naruto gave a cheeky smile as he nodded. "If I had a dojutsu, it would be the Awesomegan. Able to make me beat everyone I see."

Sakura and Ino shook their heads as they spoke in tandem. "Idiot."

They all looked at the other matches of interest and saw Tenten finish up her match.

Tenten twirled her staff to disperse the horde of insects sent at her. Her eyes focused on her opponent and saw that he was keeping his distance from her. She figured that the Aburame clan were long to mid-range fighters so close combat would not be their forte. And from what she saw from Shino, he had little to defend for anything coming in close. Pulling out two kunai with one hand, she slammed the end of her staff into the ground and pole-vaulted over the next swarm before she threw the two kunai at Shino.

Shino shifted to the side in order to avoid the kunai as he was ready to send out another swarm of insects. However, he noticed the kunai shif trajectory before his eyes caught sight of the ninja wire attached to the kunai. Before he could do anything, he saw them begin to wrap around him, and since he didn't have anything to stop it, he felt that it was leading to his defeat.

Tenten twitched her fingers to get the kunai to spin around Shino and tie him up in the Ninja wire. Pulling hard, she caught Shino in her trap before she tugged him in, getting him close to her range of attack, and brought the tip of her staff to his face.

Shino felt that his arms were held to his side and wondered if he would be able to get out of this. However, after a second of thought and seeing how ready Tenten was to prove she had beaten him, he nodded. "I concede."

The other students cheered Tenten for winning the match.

Tenten loosened up the wire and smiled at Shino. "Thanks for the match. I need more training for things like that since I don't fight insect users much." Despite winning the match, she did have trouble handling the swarms since she didn't use any elemental jutsu. A personal choice since she wanted to focus on weaponry.

Shino nodded. "The pleasure was mine." He raised his arms to call the insects that were still out of his hive. Some of them had been killed but a majority of them were still alive so he lost very little in this match.

Before anything else could be said, Kiba came flying in, sliding on the ground.

"Ow! Alright, alright, I give!"

Lee, who had his foot up in a kick, smiled as he lowered his leg. "That was a very Youthful match. I thank you for the opportunity to fight against you."

Kiba groaned from the kick as he lay on the ground. "Yeah, yeah, you're welcome."

Everyone had a small laugh at the Groaning Kiba before Naruto helped him off the ground.

Iruka sweatdropped as the matches were a bit more than what he had expected. 'I only wanted a taijutsu practice.' Snapping out of his thoughts, he looked at the others. "Alright, everyone, let's get back to practice. I'm going to call you up and you will use only taijutsu."

~Later~

Sasuke made it to his home, in a bit of a foul mood. "I'm home."

Mikoto came out from the kitchen and saw her son sitting on the couch, clearly frustrated as he leaned his head back to face the ceiling. She had an idea of what it might be since Sasuke only ever got like this when certain events happened. "How was the academy, Sasuke?"

"Hrn."

Mikoto now knew that there was a match at the academy and Sasuke fought Naruto and lost. Sasuke always responded like that when he lost to Naruto. Their friendship was odd but as long as Sasuke was not taking it so bad is a good thing. She moved to stand behind the couch, over him, before she placed a hand on his forhead. "I know you are eager to get stronger but you shouldn't push yourself too much. You'll get there, Sasuke, but rushing will only do more harm than good."

Sasuke enjoyed the feeling of his mother's hand on his forhead. He wasn't sure if it was an extra ability from his mother's mangekyo but he enjoyed her calming touch so he won't complain about it. "... it was fine."

Mikoto smiled as she ran her fingers over his forehead. "Good." She stayed there to make sure he was in a better mood before getting back to what she was doing.

Naruto made it home after hanging out with his friends for a few hours. He opened the front door and called out. "I'm home."

"Welcome home, Naruto."

Naruto saw his mother sitting on the couch with her eyes opening up and looking at him. He walked up to her and wrapped his arms around her waist in a hug.

Kaguya hugged him back before she ever so gently pushed him back and used her right hand to lift his head to look at her. "Did you enjoy your day?"

Naruto nodded with a smile as he dispelled the illusion that hid his eyes. The rinnegan eyes slowly faded away to return to his usual blue eyes and he shook his head in order to get the tingly feeling away. He apologetically looked up at her as he spoke. "Sorry, I couldn't get much today. I was too into the match to get a longer view."

Kaguya nodded as she stood up with him. "It is alright. There is only so much we can get from the younger generation. But we should at least continue where we left off from the other day."

Naruto nodded before he looked back toward the door. "I don't think any of the ones with the Byakugan are spying on us today. I think it is just the Yamanaka and Inuzuka spies."

Kaguya looked in the same direction Naruto was looking and nodded. "Yes, it is just those two. Your ability to detect and distinguish them has gotten better."

Naruto looked up and smiled brightly at her. "I gotta get better in order to protect you one day."

Kaguya knelt down and smiled at Naruto before she placed a kiss on his forehead. "One day, you very well may. But for now, let us leave them." She stood back up and suddenly summoned a shadow clone.

Naruto did the same before the originals moved over to the kitchen.

Kaguya's rinne-sharingan opened before a blocky portal appeared in front of the duo.

The two walked through the portal, leaving the clones behind to occupy the spies that Danzo left to watch the household.

Over the years, Danzo had continuously left spies to watch the two in order to find anything of value for him to use in order to control them. He would rotate the spy in order to find out anything He had been unsuccessful since every time he left one of his spies, Kaguya would detect them and hold back anything that she believed he would value. So after all this time, the only thing Danzo could find out was that she possessed the Byakugan. Naruto had also become proficient in detecting them and it became a bit of a test for them for him to figure out who it was that was spying on them.

The two learned to keep things under wraps for their own benefit.

Kaguya and Naruto walked out of the portal into a dimension that was purely lava, no land mass whatsoever.

Naruto yelped as he fell when he stepped out but he was caught by Kaguya.

She lifted him up as she was floating in the air. "You must be faster, Naruto."

Naruto slumped as he nodded. "Yes, mother." He let out a sigh before his body rose from her grasp.

Kaguya nodded as she saw Naruto start to use his abilities. "You may remove the headband if you wish."

Naruto smiled as he brought a hand up and removed it. "Finally. It is always weird having that on when using it." Once the headband was off, an eye similar to Kaguya's opened up. Naruto relaxed as two horns slowly grew from his forehead and two bangs of his hair rose as well.

Kaguya's illusion, which made her look human, slowly dissipated as her robes grew to their original state, and her horns appeared on her head. "We shall attempt to mimic what we have acquired from the Hyuga children. Attempt to mimic what I acquired from seeing through your eyes." She adjusted her arms to mimic the stance she had seen the Hyuga use.

Naruto nodded as he brought his hands up to do the same.

The two stared each other off as the sides of their eyes bulged with veins and their eyes shifted to that of the Byakugan.

A large lava bubble burst, spreading droplets of lava into the air.

The two used this as a signal and they flew toward each other with their palms glowing blue.

From within Naruto, Kurama watched through Naruto's eyes with an apathetic expression. "At least get a strike on her this time."

Did you expect a fight between the two? Nope, sorry. Am I evil for doing such a thing, yes, but where's the fun of showing everything at the beginning?

As seen, the cast's power levels are greater than in canon. There will be more signs of it but since they are still in the academy, it should be hints and the like

Mikoto's mangekyo will be explained later. It is a power I used in another fic that I really liked so I tend to use it when Mikoto is still alive.

Sorry for the delay for this fic but I have a lot of cixs in my head and I have been on a danny phantom binge for a while.

Next chapter will be a bit Kaguya-focused and lead into the graduation exam.
