The Forks diner was busy on a Friday night. Avrail and Mike stayed in line until a table was available. They saw Eric coming over with a newspaper, the Seattle News, he handed the newspaper to Mike, and showed him the front page. There was a article on a couple who was drained of blood by a puncture wound in their neck. They were asking people to come forward if they knew details about the crime. Mike told Eric he heard a few story's like this before, and it must be a copycat or the same person. The lady in front of them turned and told them her friend had found a wounded man on the Seattle streets before and it looked like the same type of crime. Avrail was shocked, she asked the lady if the man survived, the lady replied that he had, and he couldn't recall his attacker. Avrail felt shivery from the story, and turned into Mike for warmth. He put his arm around her and told her that Seattle was more busy than Forks, so crimes were more prominent at that location.
They were in line for 20 minutes before their table was ready. They ordered their food, then somebody stood up and asked if anyone knew about the crime that happened in Seattle. There was no informative response but, someone mentioned that they should hold town meetings for a few months until they could know more about the crime. A gentleman replied that he would bring it up at the board meeting on Tuesday, and if approved, he'd leave a flyer at the diner.
They were on the way home, when Mike asked Avrail if she would be going to the meeting. Avrail replied that she would probably check it out, it sounded like a good idea. They went home and the house was warm after getting out of the cold air. Avrail was cuddled up next to Mike in bed, when she told him that she had nothing to be afraid of, because she knew he was big enough to take care of her. Mike said he would, then they both drifted off to a quiet room.
The next morning Mike was heading into work, Avrail said she wanted to come, to keep him company. When they were there, a lady came in asking if they heard the news about Seattle. Mike replied that they did, and she asked if there had been anything suspicious in their store that week, Avrail told her there hadn't been any signs that a criminal had shopped there. The lady then replied that a store in Seattle reported a man browsing their store and asking if they had anything that could remove blood from clothing. Avrail asked if it was reported to the investigation office, and the lady said it was. The lady then left saying she would check back in a week for any updates about the customers.
Avrail and Mike finished work then decided to go take a look around Seattle. They were in Seattle and at the convenience store, the one that the shopper had told them about, on the wall was a picture of the man they were looking for. He didn't seem out of the ordinary, he looked to be a ordinary guy. They went to the bookstore next and Bella and Edward were leaving again, this time by themselves. They said hello, then went inside, the lady at the counter told them that she didn't see anything unusual, and she was glad a neighborhood watch was forming. They decided to head home, hopefully the case wouldn't be left unsolved for long.
