The road was icy at the sporting goods store, it was almost their one year anniversary and Mike was either working or getting her a surprise present. She saw him pull in the parking lot, he went shopping before going to work, he grabbed a bag out the back seat and told her he stopped to pick up lunch. Avrail got out of her car when she saw him, she followed Mike into the store. They were doing inventory when a gentleman walked in and asked if they had any canoes, he told them that he was going to take it down the river that lead into the forks beach. Mike showed him the stock, and the man bought one they had in stock. Avrail hoped it would be a calm trip for the man, and that he didn't run into any wolves there. She didn't know the wolves schedule but now that she heard their secret, she could recall a few customers mentioning wolves in their forest.
They were going to the reservation today for a bomb fire. Sam had invited them and he said the could catch up on some of their traditions. When they arrived at the reservation, Avrail saw that Bella and Edward were there too. Quil came over and told them that everyone there knew the wolf secret. Avrail followed Mike over to the group by the fire. Avrail heard Sam telling the others of his and Emily's meeting, he mentioned imprint and not being able to let her go. Avrail thought that was some story. They had a few story's of how they knew of vampires.
On the way home, there was a flash of white before something landed on their car. The car swerved and Mike ran into a tree. The white flash was coming towards their car when 3 wolves came out of the woods and took the being off into the night. Avrail was fine, but Mike hit his head pretty hard. She called the emergency hotline and they were there in 10 minutes. Avrail was in the ambulance with Mike going to the hospital, his vitals were fine, he was still sleeping. When they got there the doctors gave her a checkup, she was fine, but Mike was still sleeping. The doctors told her that Mike might not wake up for awhile. He said to give it a few days, and he should be fine.
Avrail sat by his bedside and talked to him in hopes of waking him up. She must have fallen asleep because, she felt Mike running his hand through her hair. She look up and started to cry and gave him some kisses. She asked him if he remembered the accident, Mike said that he did. When the doctor came in, he was also relieved that Mike had woken up, he said he was in good health, but that he should stay for a few days. Avrail thought that was a good idea.
