"I created the game."
"Ah."
"Are there any actually Certified Duelists?" Jason asked.
"Yes." Pegasus Said. "But their privacy is my top priority."
"Can you at least tell us how many there are?" Mokuba asked.
"There are under ten fully Certified Duelists." Pegasus looked at Kaiba. "You're being awfully quiet Kaiba-Boy."
"HOW ARE TODD AND FURUKAWA SEMI-PROFESSIONAL DUELISTS WHEN THEY HAVEN'T GONE TO A SINGLE TOURNAMENT!"
"There are two ways to the rank of Semi-Professional Duelist Kaiba. The first is to go to a Tournament. The second is to beat a higher rank Duelist. Last I checked, young Jason has beaten you multiple times. It's a good thing it doesn't count multiple times, am I right?"
Kaiba grit his teeth.
"Ryder on the other hand surpassed the Pico De Nablina Decathlon. Therefore, he gained the title of Semi-Professional. If and when they go to a Tournament, I have no bought that they will raise in rank. Do you know what will happen if Ryder beats me tomorrow?"
"No! What?"
"He'll jump all the way to C Tier, just like you Kaiba-Boy."
Kaiba grit his teeth again.
"What if Jason beats me?" Montgomery asked. "Or Tina and Mina?"
"Oh. He'll rise through the ranks, but at best he'll be able to get to D rank if he beats you, Mina, and Tina."
"Doesn't that mean that Yugi is also a Semi-Professional Duelist?" TéA asked.
"Technically yes, but I sort of cheated him out of a higher rank with the whole King of Games title."
"That's not fair!"
"I know, but until he beats a Duelist that's a higher level than him, he can't rise through the ranks."
"Why is Kaiba so angry that Yugi is the King of Games when he's a C Tier Duelist?" Tina asked.
"Because Yugi gets to wear a crown while Kaiba doesn't." Montgomery said.
"Stuff it Montgomery!"
"Make me Kaiba."
"Accept my Duel Challenge then!"
"Fine. Beat Joey, and I'll Duel you."
"I can beat Wheeler in my sleep!"
"Prove it then."
"I ain't da same slouch I was last time Kaiba!" Joey warned.
"And that still won't help you!"
"Just take yer turn ya jerk." Joey said, activating his Duel Disk.

"I'll draw before setting a card in my Spell and Trap Zone, and I'll play Dragon Spirit of White in attack Position..." A Holographic card appeared in the air and a White Dragon appeared on the battlefield and roared at Joey, forcing him to take a step back. "...now go!"
Joey drew a card. "I'll set a ca'd in my Spell an' Trap Zone, and den I'll Summon Battle Steer in attack Position."
"I thought you said you weren't a slouch, Wheeler!" Kaiba mocked.
"Just Go Kaiba."
Kaiba clicked his tongue and drew a card. "I'll play Protector with Eyes of Blue and use it to Synchro Summon Blue-Eyes Spirit Dragon!"
"I activate Trap Hole." Joey flipped open his trap card.
"YES!" Jason and Tristan yelled.
"Way to play Joey!" Yugi cheered.
"You did it Joey!" TéA cheered.
Kaiba grit his teeth and glared at Joey. His trap card couldn't help him, and he didn't have another Synchro Monster to Special Summon. "Fine!" He said as He sent Blue-Eyes Spirit Dragon to the graveyard.
"You did it Joey!" Yugi yelled. "Thanks to Duelist Kingdom Rules Kaiba takes damage since his Monster was destroyed by a card effect!"
"Oh yeah!" Joey smiled. "Yer Right Yuge!"

Kaiba growled and grit his teeth. "Take Your Turn Wheeler!"
Joey Drew a Card and looked at his hand. "I'll play a ca'd in defense position an' switch Battle Steer ta defense Position. Den I'll end."
"I draw!" Kaiba yelled. "Next, I'll remove from play a Blue-Eyes White Dragon to special Summon my Malefic Blue-Eyes White Dragon!"
A metallic looking Blue-Eyes White Dragon appeared on the field.
"But I'm not done yet!" Kaiba yelled. "I summon Divine Dragon Ragnarok, and my Malefic Blue-Eyes will attack your face down!"
Joey sent Meteor Dragon to his graveyard. "Do ya end?"
"Go!"
"I'll draw, an' I'll set a ca'd in face down defense position an' a ca'd in da spell an' trap zone. Den I'll end."
"Amateur! I draw and I'll play Blue-Eyes Abyss Dragon and have my Malefic Blue-Eyes White Dragon attack Your Face down Monster!"
"Ya destroyed my Little-Winguard, Kaiba."
"I'll destroy all your pathetic cards eventually!" Kaiba yelled.
"Do Ya end?"
"Yes."
"I'll draw, an' I'll activate Monster Reborn on Yer Dragon Spirit of White."
Kaiba grit his teeth as Dragon Spirit of White appeared on Joey's side of the field.
"Next I'll attack yer Divine Dragon Ragnarok."
"Yes!" Joey's Friends cheered.
"I don't think so! Block it Malefic Blue-Eyes!"
"I activate my trap card, Kunai wit' Chain, ta put yer Malefic Blue-Eyes in Defense position an' give Dragon Spirit of White 500 additional Attack points. Now, finish yer attack on Divine Dragon Ragnarok!"
"Intercept its attack Blue-Eyes Abyss Dragon!"
Blue-Eyes Abyss Dragon intercepted the attack and was sent to the graveyard.

Joey Wheeler: 2000
"Yes!" Joey's Friends cheered.
"Don't get Cocky Joey!" Jason said. "A Duelist is at their most dangerous when they are backed against a wall!"
"T'anks J." Joey said. "I end Kaiba."
"I draw!" Kaiba Said. "Next I Play Deep-Eyes White Dragon! You remember what this does!"
"Yeah. I Take damage equal ta da number of Dragons in yer Graveyard."
"That's right, and I have 3. You lose 1800 Life Points!"

Joey Wheeler: 0200
"You can still win Joey!" Yugi said.
"I'll remove my Blue-Eyes Spirit Dragon from play and give my Deep-Eyes White Dragon 2500 ATK and 3000 DEF before changing him to Defense position along with Divine Dragon Ragnarok. I end."
"I draw. An' I'll attack yer Malefic Blue-Eyes White Dragon with Dragon Spirit of White."
Kaiba grit his teeth and growled as he sent his Malefic Blue-Eyes to the graveyard.
"I end."
"I'll draw and play Blue-Eyes Jet Dragon!" Kaiba yelled. "Blue-Eyes Jet Dragon! Attack Dragon Spirit of White! White Lightning Missile!"
At the same time Kaiba's Blue-Eyes Jet Dragon attacked Dragon Spirit of White attacked and both Monsters killed each other.
"Do Ya end Kaiba?" Joey asked.
"Yes! Go!"
"I draw an' I set a ca'd in da spell an' Trap Zone and set a Monsta in face down Defense Position. I end."
"I draw." Kaiba began laughing. "You're finished!" He mocked. "I play Chaos Form and Remove Dragon Spirit of White from Play in order to play Blue-Eyes Chaos Dragon!"
The sky darkened and lightning flashed as a Dragon who wore armor like scales with blue gemstones that glowed an ominous blue descended from the clouds, sparks flying around it as it touched down. It let out a screeching roar that pushed Joey onto his back.
Joey looked up at the Dragon and wondered how he'd get out of this one on top.
"Now you see how hopeless your situation is!" Kaiba yelled.
"Not so fast Kaiba!" Joey Said. "I'm still in dis."
"Not for long. I'll attack your face down!"
Joey put Guardian of the Throne Room in his graveyard and looked at the top card of his deck.
"Take Your Turn Wheeler! There's nothing you can do!"
"Dere is one ca'd dat can switch dis duel around Kaiba!"
"Oh yes. Your Shield and Sword card you're so fond of. It won't help you but take your turn."
Joey looked at his deck. 'H'art o' da ca'ds I need ya more Dan ever. Please help me with' dis next draw.' "I draw!" Joey shouted, drawing his next card... and sighed in relief.
Everyone held their breath as they waited to see what Joey would draw.
"I play Pot o' Greed!" He said drawing two more cards. "Den I'll set a ca'd in da spell an' trap zone and switch Battle Steer into attack position and activate..."
"NO!" Kaiba yelled. "How did you get THAT card!"
"I believed in da h'art o' da ca'ds Kaiba. Now. Shield an' Sword!"
"NOOOOO!" Kaiba yelled as All the Attack and Defense of All Face up Monsters on the Field were Switched and his Blue-Eyes Chaos Dragon's Attack became 0 and its Defense became 3000.
"Battle Steer! Impaling Pitchfork strike!"
Battle Steer ran across the room and impaled Kaiba's Blue-Eyes Chaos Dragon on its pitchfork, pixilating it.

Joey Wheeler: 0200
Joey slumped to the floor and gulped in large lungful's of air. He had just Dueled and beat one of his Tormentors. One of his biggest tormentors. He felt someone get closer and jumped back, skidding to a halt, and holding his hand up in a defensive gesture.
"Whoa." Jason said. "You okay Joey?"
Joey rubbed his hand against his forehead and realized he was shaking. "I don't feel so good J."
"That's the adrenaline wearing off. You should feel better tomorrow.
"A'right J. Ima go ta bed."
"Yeah. You should do that."
Yugi, TéA, and Tristan led Joey back to his bedroom while Jason stayed behind.
Kaiba was looking down at his deck. He'd lost... to Wheeler... it, it didn't make sense. How could he lose to Wheeler? He was weak and pathetic and useless. How?
"I guess that young Joseph can move up on the Rank chart from Casual Gold Tier to Semi-Professional F Tier." Pegasus said.
"Guess so." Montgomery Said. "So. How does Yugi Rank up?"
"He can't, unfortunately. Not until he loses the title king of games."
"That blows."
"Sadly, yes, but the night is late. I recommend a good night's sleep, so you'll be ready for tomorrow."
"Alright. Good night, everyone."
Everyone said their good nights and made their way to their bedrooms.
"That was intense." Kazutaka Said, "but I'm glad that Joey put Kaiba in his place."
"Joey needed that win." Jason said. "Kaiba has been a barrier that he needed to move past, and now he has."
"That's good."
"Yeah, it is. Now Joey can move on."
"It looks like some good came out of all the bad in the Virtual World."
"Looks that way."
"Well. It's time for bed."
Jason and Kazutaka showered, changed into their sleep ware and dropped their day clothes into the laundry chute and climbed into bed.
The Next Morning.
Jason woke up the next morning and meditated.
"HOW DARE YOU NOT USE THE ARCHFIENDS!" The Undying One roared.
"I made my decision, and I stand by it." Jason defended.
"I should have taken over and annihilated everyone!"
Jason grabbed the Undying One in a choke hold and became dead weight.
The Undying One also became dead weight and slammed into Jason causing Jason to let go.
Jason caught the Undying One's kick and forced him back until he fell on him with his leg still caught and dislocated it. He grabbed the Undying One's throat with both his hands and began squeezing. "Don't forget whose body this is!" He roared into the Undying One's face. "It's mine! And if you threaten my friends again, I will kill you! This is my mind! Which means!" He brought all of the mental training that Bruce had forced him to endure after the Scarecrow used his fear had on him, and created a Golden Sarcophagus that he locked the Undying One in. "I have the power!"
"Do you?" The Undying One asked from behind him.
Jason pointed his gun at him. "You May be good, but can you survive a bullet to the head?"
The Undying One backed away. "Alright. Your friends are off limits."
"You better believe it, and if they say, or think, that you did anything to them..."
"Alright, alright. I get it."
"Good." Jason said, leaving his mindscape.
Jason opened his eyes to Kazutaka looking at him.
"Good morning." She spoke.
"Morning."
"Let's go." She said, taking his hand.
They arrived at the dining room with Mokuba and saw Kaiba glaring outside.
"What's up Kaiba?" Jason asked. "You still grumbly that Joey beat you in a Duel?"
"Shut up Todd!"
"Make me." Jason stuck out his tongue.
"Real mature Todd."
"I know I am, but what are you?"
Kaiba growled.
"Now, now. Play nice." Pegasus said, walking into the dining room.
Montgomery walked into the dining room and Kaiba stalked over to him. "Duel me!" Kaiba demanded.
"No. You lost. Now the only way I'll duel you is on the Dueling Circuit or on National T.V."
It was at that moment that Joey walked in.
"Wheeler!" Kaiba yelled causing Joey to jump.
"'Ey! What do ya want Kaiba!"
"I want to know how you beat me!"
"You saw how I beat ya Kaiba!"
"No! You got the card you needed right when you needed it! How!"
"It's da h'art o' da ca'ds Kaiba. Dat's how."
Kaiba looked like he was going to Spiral, but composed himself and became determined, leaving the dining room.
"Where do you think he went?" Mokuba asked.
"Probably to his room." Jason said.
"Let's eat." Pegasus said. "We have cards to create today, and a Duel between Ryder and myself that has me brimming with excitement."
"You know that we'll have to play two Duel's, right?" Ryder said, walking in looking like he'd gotten a full eight hours of uninterrupted sleep.
"You look well." Montgomery said.
"I feel great."
"What happened?"
Tina walked in looking haggard for once.
"Holy Shit! What did you do to her?"
"I have her what she wanted."
Everyone looked at Ryder in shock. "YOU WHAT!"
"She likes physical contact. So, I gave it to her."
"IN WHAT WAY!"
Mina came running in and saw Tina. "Huh. I don't believe it. You finally met your match."
"I'm so confused." Kazutaka said. "Did Ryder finally get laid?"
Jason took off his eye patch and directed the Millennium Eye towards Ryder, but Ryder's thoughts were chaotic, and he wasn't sure what to make of them. "I don't know." He said, before directing his thoughts to Tina, and burst into laughter. "Ryder! You bastard!"
"Hey! My parents were happily married when they had me, even if I was a lucky accident, and they are happily married now!" Ryder smiled.
"What did he do?" Kazutaka asked.
"He gave Tina a notebook of problems that got harder the more she did, but the more she got right the more she was allowed to do with him, but she got stuck on the last problem which would have let them..." he thought about the best way to phrase it. "...consummate their relationship."
Kazutaka blinked at Ryder. "Wait! You would have had sex if Tina could have figured out that last problem!?"
"Well yes, she would have worked hard for it, and I felt that it was an equal trade since she's been taking Birth control for the last year."
"Show me the problem. I want to see how hard it is."
Tina handed Kazutaka the notebook and she flipped through them to the last page. It was an equation that she immediately figured out, but she wanted a second opinion. "Hey Joey. Do you know the answer to this question?"
Joey came over and looked at it. "If da equation...

Tina grabbed the notebook and wrote -3 in the answer slot before handing it to Ryder and dragged him out.
Ryder just sighed and looked at Kazutaka and Joey. "I should have said that she couldn't have help from friends. I thought it was an unspoken rule. That's on me." He said as his voice became even more quiet the farther, he got from the dining room.
"I don't know what's more disturbing." Tristan said. "The fact that Joey is now really good at math or the fact that Ryder has given in to sex."
"That's on Ryder." Jason said. "He made bed bet, now he has to sleep in it."
"Do you think that they'll be back anytime soon?" Pegasus asked.
"No." Mina said. "Tina has over a year and a half of repressed sexual desires that are about to come to fruition. The Ryder we knew today is gone. When we next see Ryder, he will be a changed man."
"Yeah." Tristan said. "He'll be an actual man now."
"There something you want to share with the class?" Jason asked.
"What? No!"
"Ooh. Did your Tristan have a fling with an old flame?"
"NO!" Tristan yelled, unconvincingly.
"TRISTAN!" TéA yelled. "Did you and Miho have sex!"
Tristan looked away from TéA.
"You did! Why!"
"It was her last night in Domino and we Kinda just... did it."
"Did you use protection." Montgomery asked in a dark voice.
Tristan gulped. "Yes. We used a condom."
"Where is she now?"
"Australia! She moved to Australia!"
Montgomery blinked and he stood in front of a girl with lavender colored hair. He took in every detail about her, she wasn't pregnant, she hadn't given birth, and it seemed like she was well taken care of. No signs of abuse or neglect. So, he blinked before he was sitting back in the dining room.
"Have you at least talked to her?"
"Yes. We keep in touch."
"When was the last time?"
"This morning." Tristan blushed and tossed Montgomery his phone.
Tristan: Good Morning Miho
Miho: Good Morning Tristan.
Tristan: When are you coming back to Domino?
Miho: I should be back in a few weeks.
Tristan: I can't wait to see you again.
Miho: Same here. I Hope you have something special planned for my return.
Montgomery tossed Tristan his phone back. "Good." He spoke.
"Well Then." Pegasus Said. "Let's eat and we'll go to the card studio.
"What about my big brother?" Mokuba asked.
"I'm here Mokuba." Seto walked in.
"You Look determined as ever." Montgomery said.
"Stuff it Montgomery!"
Montgomery took a big bite out of his breakfast sandwich and stared at Kaiba.
"I still can't believe that I'M the more mature sibling." Sina said.
They finished their breakfast and moved onto the card studio.
Pegasus opened the door and the group saw rows and rows of tables where artists were working furiously to make new card ideas, with a conveyor belt going around the perimeter of the room, a set of rollers in the middle to stop boxes and other packages. A worker walked over to the conveyor belt leading out of the room and placed a box on it, and they watched it leave the room.
"Wow." Kazutaka Said. "How Are they able to always work like that?"
"Oh. I have a list of card names and effects and they have to draw the image for them." Pegasus explained. "Come over here and I'll show you." He walked them over to a Duel Monster Artist.
"Cedric, would you mind showing us what you're working on?"
Cedric moved out of the way to show a black card that immediately caught everyone's eye.

Everyone looked at Jason and back at the card.
"Don't worry young Jason." Pegasus said. "I'll make sure that you get a copy of Archfiend's Ascent. As well as this card." He motioned him to another table.

Jason could only smile at the prospect of having these XYZ and Link monster's in his Archfiend Deck.
"Now them." Pegasus said. "I will allow you to go through the studio and create your own cards. These cards will eventually be put into circulation, but until I feel that they should be released all other copies shall be kept here."
"So, we can go create any card now?"
"Yes. Go have fun."
The group ran off towards the various tables that had card designers who weren't doing anything and began creating cards of their own.
Ryder and Tina showed up sometime later, but no one was paying enough attention to notice.
They gathered back up at 2:30 and Pegasus looked at them. "So, what cards did you create? Young Jason, do you have one?"
Jason handed Pegasus a fusion card. It looked like Imprisoned Queen Archfiend wearing Terrorking Archfiend's armor and wielding his sword.

"Yeah. Otherwise, it would be too Overpowered."
"What do you mean would be?" Kaiba asked. "It's already too overpowered."
"Not so. I can't use it unless I have Pandemonium otherwise, I lose the game."
"In your current deck..." Kazutaka said. "...your chances of getting Pandemonium are 6 out of 59 which is just under ten percent."
"Nobody needs a lesson in basic math Nozomu!" Kaiba snapped.
"Keep talking shit Kaiba." Jason said. "I'll make it, so you'll be eating liquid mush through a straw for the rest of your life."
Everyone looked from Jason to Kaiba back to Jason.
"Let's move on, shall we?" Pegasus asked. "Who's next?"
Ryder showed Pegasus a card that had two sections. The first was colored red with two coins with black x's through them, while the second was colored green and had two coins with green check marks over them.

Pegasus looked at Young Joseph. He hadn't designed the card, at least not by himself. In fact, it sounded a lot like a card that young Lotus would come up with. "What a powerful card." He spoke.
"Yeah. Ya can t'ank Lotus fer helpin' me. I Wasn't sure w'at I wanted an' he helped me."

"Hold up." Jason said. "You said that your dad named you Lotus as a joke. Why not change your name?"

"Lucas Limetree." Jason Said as He typed it into the Registry. "...and submit. Okay. That'll take about six months."

"You, Jason, and Ryder all use cards that roll dice in one way or another, and Kazutaka played a Monk in Legendary Heroes. It seemed interesting, so I thought I'd try it out. I just hope it will work."
"I'm sure it will Yugi." Ryder said. "But be sure that you're willing to take that gamble. The Dice can be treacherous."
"I am." Yugi said.
"All right."

"You Watched a Movie from the 1950's?" Mokuba asked.
"My parents were watching it and I snuck out to watch. I was so terrified I couldn't sleep for a week. I eventually passed out from exhaustion and slept for three days and was normal from that point forward..."
"If you can call yourself normal." Kaiba said.
"Which of us is normal Kaiba?" Jason asked. "Don't say you cause that's a lie and we all know it."
"Shut up Todd!"
"I believe that Kaeru and Saru are our last two. So, who's next?"
Saru handed Pegasus a card.

Effect: As Long as Voltic King is on the Field it gains 1000 ATK and all other Monsters lose 1000 ATK.
"An interesting card Saru. Why make a Field Spell for only one card in your deck?"
"Voltic Kong is kind of my Ace Card. I always seem to draw it at least once per duel. So, I figured that I should make a Card for my Ace Card."
"How many copies of Voltic Kong do you have?"
"One."
"Do you want two more to increase your chances of getting it out to increase the effectiveness of this Card?"
"I mean... I wouldn't say no."
"Splendid!" Pegasus tan over to a computer and typed something into it.
Three minutes later the room was filled with a rattling as a box rolled to a stop on the conveyor belt. Pegasus opened the box, pulled out two copies of Voltic Kong and handed them to Kaeru. Then he pushed the box onto the other Conveyor belt with difficulty.
Jason noticed that the difficulty was feigned. Pegasus was faking that the box was almost too heavy for him to move.
"Now then." Pegasus panted. "Kaeru. May I see your card?"
Kaeru handed Pegasus his card.

"I see that you took a page from Young Ryder's book." Pegasus said.
"Yeah. Go big or go home am I right?"
Ryder eye's sparkled with pride at Kaeru following in his footsteps.
"Now then." Pegasus said. "Let's get you to the Kitchens, and afterwards we will have the Duel between Young Ryder and Myself."
The group followed Pegasus to the Kitchens and split off, half going to cook dinner while the other half went to strategize over their new cards.
After dinner they met in the Duel Hall, Pegasus on one side of hall and Ryder in the other. They shuffled each other's decks and gave them back before standing in their respective places.
"Since I am the host..." Pegasus said. "...You may go first Young Ryder."
"We're going to have to play at least three games." Ryder said.
"Whatever for?"
"Because with my luck, I'll get Exodia in my first hand."
"Very well, but why three and not two?"
"Because. You wanted to see what this deck was capable of didn't you?"
"Yes, and I like the way you think."
"In that case. I play Exodia."
"Bravo." Pegasus said. "Your luck is most interesting."
"That's one way of looking at it."
They shuffled each other's decks again and replayed.
Ryder Furukawa: 2000
Maximilian Pegasus: 2000
"I draw." Ryder said. "Then I'll play four cards face down in the spell and trap zone, and Maha Vailo in face up attack position, and I'll end."
Four Holographic cards appeared in the air and a monster sitting in the lotus position wit its arms crossed over its chest appeared on the battlefield.
"A bold opening move." Pegasus said. "Let's see if I can counter it! I draw." Pegasus looked at his hand. "I'll set a Monster in Face down Defense Position, and two cards in my spell and trap zone. I'll end."
Three holographic cards appeared on the field as Pegasus passed the turn.
"I'll draw." Ryder said. "Then I'll Equip Maha Vailo with the Ballista of Rampart Smashing. As Long As it's attacking a Face Down Defense Position Monster, it gains 1500 Attack during Damage Calculation, and thanks to Maha Vailo's effect it gains an additional 500 Attack for each Equip card putting it at 2050 Attack."
A massive Ballista appeared on the field and Maha Vailo mounted it, aiming at Pegasus' Face Down.
"Holy Hell!" Joey Said. "Dat t'ings massive!"
"Do you think Ryder will be able to beat Pegasus?" Tristan asked.
"The only thing Ryder has going for him..." Mina said. "... is his luck. If that runs out, then he's fucked."
"I will take on the responsibility of cheering him up." Tina stood at attention and saluted.
"You're going to do that whether he wins or loses." Mina said.
"Damn straight."
"Maha Vailo! Attack Pegasus Face Down!"
"Not so fast!" Pegasus Said. "I Flip up Dark-Eyes Illusionist! So long as he's on the Field, your Maha Vailo Can't attack."
"Oh hell." Joey Said.
"Yup." Montgomery Said.
"Do you end?" Pegasus asked.
"Yes."
"I draw." Pegasus said. "And I activate Relinquished Fusion."
"Oh shit!" Montgomery, Tina, and Mina shouted in unison."
"What!" Joey demanded.
"Ryder may have just lost the duel!"
"I send Dark-Eyes Illusionist from my field and Relinquished from my had to the graveyard to Fusion Summon Millennium-Eyes Restrict."
Dark-Eyes Illusionist and Relinquished appeared in the air and began spiraling until they glowed a brilliant white and appeared in a new form.
"Don't say it!" Mina and Sina yelled in unison at Montgomery.
Ryder Watched in horror as a being of Nightmares appeared in the air. "What is that thing?"
"It's Millennium-Eyes Restrict." Pegasus said. "On the plus side you can attack with your Maha Vailo again. On the downside, I'm going to activate Millennium-Eyes Restrict and take control of it."
Millennium-Eyes Restrict grabbed Maha Vailo and pulled it towards it before it ate Maha Vailo and absorbed it into itself.
"No!" Ryder shouted.
"But that's not all. Millennium-Eyes Restrict gains Maha Vailo's Attack and Defense... sadly it doesn't gain the effect or the Equip card, so it stays at 1550. There is some good news though."
"What's that?"
"I can't attack. I'll end my turn. Go."
"I'll draw, and I'll play Dark Honest in attack position, and equip it with Axe of Despair."
An Angel with golden locks, pale skin, and black wings appeared in the air. It wore black clothes with a blue sash and blue boots. On its wrists it wore black gauntlets. In its hand an axe appeared, and dark veins appeared in its arm. It let out a war cry and pointed at Millennium-Eyes Restrict.
Dark Honest: 2100 ATK
"Dark Honest! Attack! Unholy Aerial Slash!"
Dark Honest flew at Millennium-Eyes Restrict. Millennium-Eyes Restrict turned around to show Maha Vailo sticking out of its back.
"Dark Honest!" Ryder Shouted. "Stop!" But it was too late. Dark Honest cut through Maha Vailo, pixilating it.
"Ahh!" Ryder shouted as he felt a slash across his chest, and his life points dropped.
Ryder Furukawa: 1450
"Do you end?" Pegasus asked.
"Yes."
"I draw. Then I'll play a card in face down defense position and take your Dark Honest. I end."
Ryder Watched as Millennium-Eyes Restrict took Dark Honest Hostage. He needed to draw something that would allow him to win. He took out his Coin and gave it a flip. He thought heads, caught it, placed it on his hand, and saw heads staring up at him.
With his confidence renewed he drew his next card.
"I draw." He spoke. "And I play Honest in attack position! Then I'll have Honest Attack Millennium-Eyes Restrict! Heaven's Fury!"
Honest attacked Millennium-Eyes Restrict, causing it to turn around and Honest attacked Dark Honest, resulting in Ryder not losing any Life Points.
"Well played. Do you end?"
"Yes."
"I draw, and I will switch Millennium-Eyes Restrict to Face up defense position. I end."
"I'll draw, and I'll play Maha Vailo. Attack his Millennium-Eyes Restrict! Enlightened Reckoning!"
Maha Vailo Flew at Millennium-Eyes Restrict, raking it claws across its back, killing it.
"Oh no." Pegasus Said. "Whatever shall I do?"
"Ima end." Ryder said.
"I'll draw. Then I'll play Toon Kingdom!" The World shimmered and the field became a Pop-Up Book with a Kingdom sitting on top of it. "Next I'll play Toon Summoned Skull!"
"Welp. Ryder's fucked." Montgomery said. "Once Pegasus gets his Toons out, you might as well kiss your ass goodbye."
A cartoon version of the Summoned Skull appeared on the Battlefield and mocked Ryder by Waggling its finger at him.
"Adhesion Trap Hole!" Ryder responded. "Your Toon Summoned Skull's attack is halved."
"It doesn't matter." Mina said. "Toon Monsters can attack you directly if you don't have a Toon Monster on Your dude of the field."
"Oh my." Pegasus said. "Whatever shall I do? Oh. I know. Toon Summoned Skull. Attack Ryder Furukawa directly! Toon Lightning Wave!"
Toon Summoned Skull Roared and let out a blast of Lightning that shocked Ryder directly. Though some of the static Buildup caught Pegasus with a...
"Ahh! Ah hem. I end."
Ryder Furukawa: 0200
Maximilian Pegasus: 1500
Ryder flipped his coin again. "Heads." He caught, looked at it, and glowered at it. "I draw. Then I set a card in the spell and trap zone, and I activate the three Metalmorphs I got in my opening hand, increasing Maha Vailo's attack by 900!"
Maha Vailo: 2450
"Holy!" Joey yelled. "Dat's one hell ova powa boost!"
"Then I'll attack your Toon Summoned Skull with Maha Vailo, and thanks to Metalmorphs ability, it gains attack equal to half of your Monsters attack... three times!"
"Oh, Oh No!" Pegasus said, sounding scared for the first time in the entire duel.
Maha Vailo: 4325
"Enlightened Reckoning!"
"Holy shit." Montgomery Said.
"I activate Toon Defense!"
The Attack passed through Toon Summoned Skull and hit Pegasus.
Ryder Furukawa: 0200
Maximilian Pegasus: -2825
"YES!" Ryder's friends roared.
Kaiba looked down at Ryder in contempt.
"I have one Question." Ryder said when it got Quiet enough to talk. "Why did you take that direct attack?"
"It because I can't bear to see any of my precious Toons get hurt." Pegasus said, wiping some nonexistent dirt from his suit coat.
"I see. That was an excellent Duel." Ryder walked over to Pegasus and shook his hand.
Pegasus returned the handshake. "You are a very unusual person young Ryder."
"I'll take that as a compliment."
"I meant it as a compliment. Now. Shall we have that third Duel?"
"You bet!" Ryder cheered.
Ryder lost their third Duel when he failed to draw a single Monster card in his opening hand.
"What a pity." Pegasus said. "I wanted another challenging Duel. Oh well. Off to bed. You have two days left before you must leave, and I want you to enjoy them."
The group made their way to their rooms, but Kaiba stayed up long into the night, working on an upcoming project.
The next two days passed by both too fast and too slow. They passed the time by taking to Lucas, formerly Lotus, about their adventures leading up to that point, and before they knew it, it was time to leave, and they were Boarding the plane back to Domino City.
Domino City, Sunday Afternoon.
As the group exited the plane, Montgomery walked over to Kazutaka. "I'm sorry, but I need to do this." He said touching her forehead causing her to disappear.
"What the hell did you do?" Jason pointed his 1911 at Montgomery.
"She's fine, she's at Domino General Hospital. You can be there in 5 minutes if you break the speed limit, and before I forget." Montgomery glowed black and Jason couldn't remember why he drew his gun but knew that he had to get to Kazutaka at Domino General.
One second Kazutaka was standing at the airport and the next second she was lying in bed. She blinked her eyes open and saw a sterile white ceiling. She looked around and saw a hospital room. Memories came flooding in of her puking until she had nothing in her stomach and being sedated so the medicine could do its job.
"Oh. Good afternoon." A voice said.
Kazutaka looked over and saw someone who made her skin tingle.
The owner of the voice walked towards them with a syringe.
Kazutaka grabbed their arm when they reached forward to inject the contents of the syringe into her I.V. Bag and threw him towards the window.
Jason was pulling up to the Hospital when he saw someone fly out of the Hospital Window. He pulled over to the sidewalk and grappled up to the window. He looked inside and saw Kazutaka. "Kazu?"
"Jason?" She asked.
"Yeah. What happened?"
"I don't know. I was at work when I got sick. Then Kerry brought me here and I was sedated until I woke up just now."
"I'm so glad you're okay. I brought you something." He said, pulling out a deck box from his suit coat and handed it to her."
Kazutaka looked through the deck.
