Chapter 23 – Life Day Night
Just like the Coruscant Weather Network had being said for the previous days, the weather at Coruscant after the sunset started to change, and the first drops of rain started to fall around 9pm, the time where all the families were already together in their homes to have dinner for Life Day's Eve.
Just like them, everyone was in the Solos apartment in the 18th floor, having dinner and talk about events and normal things, especially that happened that year.
At that time, the kids were already in the living room playing, while the adults were still at the table talking and eat some of the delicious pastries and deserts that were on it.
"I can't believe that we are almost done with another year!" Amidala spoke, making everyone nod.
"Time flies my friend!" Ken said smiling looking at his grandchildren who were playing.
"Don't even say that," Leia replied. "It felt like yesterday that this little one born and in 11 days she will be 4 months old," she looked at her baby who was peacefully sleeping in her arms.
"You need to get used to that my dear," Jobal said.
"But how is everything going on lately?" Ruwee asked wanted to know if there was another attack.
"About attacks, so far nothing. Which to be honest doesn't leave me relax at all," Luke said.
"You still don't know why and who?" Dan asked his brother in law who shook his head. "We didn't get any info either."
"But aren't the clones return to the Temple?" Gracy asked them.
"Yes," Amidala smiled. "That is a great news to see at the ones who are still alive returning home. It feels like the old days!"
"How is the people reacting to that?" Ruwee asked, making them look at each other.
They knew what he meant. After all it was the clones who killed many Jedi and for a while they were the guards of the Emperor, until he decided to form the Storm Trooper Program and get rid of the Clones.
"The clones were just obeying orders. And they had a chip, that it is already proven. So they don't need to be scare or anything!" Ines said to them.
"Well we, the Coruscant Police Department, are excited, cause lets face it, the Clones were made to be soldiers. So all the help is welcome." Dan said looking at his sister. "Right General!"
Han nod raising his glass of Jawa Juice.
"Yup it is. The more help, the less the work I have to do!" he winked making Leia rolled her eyes, but everyone else laughed. Typical Han.
"I also liked the fact that more Jedi are coming to help. The fact that they can see the amazing work Luke is doing and how a great Grand Master he is, helped a lot." Ken said smiling at his son in law.
"I try my best, but I know I'm not Master Yoda, or Master Windu or even my father or Obi Wan!"
"Hey kid, stop being modest. You are great fighter, Jedi and pilot!" Han replied.
"Thanks Han!"
"Are you drunk?" Ines asked frowning.
"Why every time I say something good is because I'm drunk?"
"Cause you kept the night drinking a lot!" she replied.
"What I noticed at you didn't drink at all, kid!"
Ines glare at Leia whose eyes wide, but before she could say anything, her toddler came to save the night.
"Mama!" Lukey approached rubbing his eyes.
Picking him up, the toddler wrapped his little arms around his mother neck and rest his head on her right shoulder.
"I see someone is already tired!" Leia said right away, thanking to herself for that.
"It is already almost midnight, so maybe it is time to get home or the Ancient Wookiee will not come and leave the presents under the tree!" Luke said, laughing when the girls came towards him right away.
"No, that can't happen!" the twins said at the same time.
"Then maybe it is time to go home and go to bed!"
"And we need to go, before the weather get worst!" Gracy said picking Zena, who was also showing she was getting sleepy too.
They could hear the wind blowing up.
Helping to at least put the food away and clean the table for the next day, since it was the boys 6th birthday, they said their goodnights and everyone left to their homes.
After Midnight:
After get inside their apartment, the kids went to their bedrooms, put their pajamas and after brush their teeth, they all were under the covers and before the midnight hit, they were already sleeping, leaving Luke and Ines time to put the rest of the presents under the tree.
Right now, while the weather get worse, with the rain falling heavily, they were in the living room, laying on the chaise long couch, covered by a warm blanket, with Luke kissing deeply Ines.
Pulling back reaching for hair, Ines giggled.
"Someone want to make out heavily!" she said running her hands on Luke's blond hair.
"Well is not my fault that I'm so in love with my beautiful wife!" he smiled kissing her cheek. "By the way, what was that from Leia when Han said that you didn't take a drink all night? Does she knows?"
"Like you don't know your twin sister. Even if we want to hide something from her, we can't. She knows us, especially me too well. But don't worry she wont tell anything."
Luke nod.
"Good cause we really need to wait, even if we know everything will be okay with this little one," he smiled rubbing her belly and kissing it. "Next year we will have another little one to enjoy Life Day!"
"And I can't wait!" Ines smiled.
Indeed she couldn't wait for that day to arrive, but until that time comes, they still have so much to celebrate and take care.
Another Life Day's Eve passed.
