Hello everyone, I'm so sorry for the wait, things have been tough lately, and the last two chapters of my Abyss Riders took longer than I thought.
Now before I answer some questions, let me tell you that I finished The White Dragon's Case: The Crimson Love Letter. And starting tomorrow, I'll start posting chapters one day at a time. And as a reminder it will be on the Detective Conan/Case Close x Dragon Prince tabs.
Now for questions.
First a guest asks me if I can do multiple chapters at once on my Abyss Rider Story, and the answer is no/sometimes. The reason is that while I will do a couple chapters at the same time, every now and then, it's because I feel like they should be posted at the same time, like a two parter episodes, or I couldn't wait to do the next chapter(Like I did with season 3 of Dragon Prince). But by doing more than just a couple at a time, I start losing focus, and the writing block starts to form. To prevent that, I work on other stories, while having ideas on the back burning for later.
Another guest wondered if The White Dragon's Case: The Crimson Love Letter. Would explain how humans can use magic, and how Zym got his pendants from Sisu back, but that will be explained in this chapter not in The White Dragon's Case: The Crimson Love Letter.
Now many of you ask, if we'll see Soren and Zubeia battle some more, maybe with Ezran and Zym as tag team partners. I have to see where the show goes first, but at the moment, I'm going with a maybe but probably no.
Next for Gue469X, for what happens in Kumandra, Sisu will still be calling Zym Little brother. There won't be a tournament. And lastly, we have to see what Aaravos does in season 6 before I decide how he affects things in Kumandra.
Next MorphIIIdragonX, when I'm getting closer to the end of season 4 and 5, I'll have to see how I feel at the time, before I decide to focus on just Dragon Prince.
Next Juxxipharoo, it's a maybe for giving more Pokemon for Zym, it's all about how I feel and how the show goes.
Lastly, Whit3Pika, you'll have to wait and see.
Now that's all over, let's start the chapter. Now Chapter 32.
Chapter 32
Through The Looking Glass And Past Shadow
The Valley of the Graves
We left off at the Valley of the Graves, when Ibis' image appeared on the clouds. "The Staff of Ziard has been stolen. I'm afraid this can only mean one thing. The Fallen Star has returned." Ibis said to Zubeia, earning a mean look from Zubeia.
Then Ibis' image faded away, leaving everyone confused, as Zubeia growled, and Zym whimpered.
"That face was that-." Rayla asked everyone, but was interrupted by Ezran. "That was Ibis, the great Sky Mage." Ezran said to Rayla. "You fought beside him at the Storm Spire. How could you not remember?" Callum asked Rayla. "Did he? I mean he was there before and after the battle. But I don't think he was involved in the battle." Allen said to everyone.
"I do remember, just wasn't sure of his name." Rayla said to Callum. "Well, maybe you might know that if you'd been here the past two years." Callum said to Rayla, before frowning and turning his head.
"Callum." Ezran said to Callum. "What? She would." Callum said to Ezran. "Doesn't mean you have to be a jerk." Drake said to Callum, as Zubeia moved closer to everyone.
"King Ezran, thank you for the visit to your kingdom. I'm afraid it's time for me to return to mine." Zubeia said to Ezran. "Wait, please don't go yet. If the Fallen Star is a danger the whole world will face, this is a chance to solve our problems together." Ezran said to Zubeia.
"Young King, I appreciate that sentiment. But Ibis' warning is too urgent to delay. I am taking Zym and we are departing immediately." Zubeia said to Ezran, with urgency in her voice.
"I understand." Ezran said to Zubeia. "Uh, quick question. Where is Zym?" Talia asked everyone, making Ezran gasps, as they noticed Zym was missing. "Zym! Where'd you go?" Ezran asked, calling out for Zym. "He was just here!" Ezran said to everyone.
"Oh, he's been so willful lately." Zubeia said to everyone. "Zym, I know you can hear me. It's time to go home." Zubeia said, calling out for Zym in a commanding voice. Ezran then touched his head and scene Zym nearby.
"He hasn't gone far. I'll find him and bring him back." Ezran said to Zubeia, before leaving with Lycanroc following him. "I'll go with you." Talia said to Ezran, before she and Milotic went after him.
The Storm Spire
Meanwhile at the Storm Spire, Viren and Grav were waiting for Claudia and Terry at the bottom of the Spire, bord. Then they heard wings flapping, and turned their heads to see Claudia flying down the stairs, with Viren staff in her hands, Terry on her back with her staff on Terry's back, and large bat wings sticking out of her back.
When Claudia landed in front of Viren, Vrien took a few steps back in shock. "I see the walking chimera was successful." Grav said to everyone, as Claudia's wings burned away in purple flames, and she walked up to Viren presenting him his staff.
Viren reached out for it, but stopped midway. "Uh, why don't you, um.. Why don't you just hold onto it for now?" Viren asked Claudia, surprising Claudia. "Okay." Claudia said to Viren, before moving to grab Terry's hand.
"We should all get some rest. At dawn, we cast the spell to open the chrysalis." Claudia said to everyone, before she led Terry away.
The Sunfire Camp
Meanwhile at the Sunfire Camp, a male Sunfire Elf was humming a song before a large candle. Then the Sunfire Elf used red paint and drew two lines going from the top of his eyes to his chin. Then he used his fingers to light a flame, making the flame travel up the candle in a ritualistic way.
"Soul flame burning in the dark. Guide her through the night." The Sunfire Elf said, as the candle's tip was now on fire and glowing a comforting flame.
Meanwhile, a muscular woman with brown skin, green eyes, and a light green bandana covering her black hair, a sleeveless white and blue shirt with dark gray pants and brown boots, noticed embers coming from the candle, and turned her head to see the candle burning.
"Fire! Fire!" The woman said, as she ran towards the candle, making the Sunfire Elf gasp. "No open flames. The whole camp will catch fire!" The woman said to the Sunfire Elf.
The Valley of the Graves
Back at the Valley of the Graves, Ezran, Talia, Lycanroc, and Milotic found Zym and brought him back to the Valley, with Zym a little scared. "It's okay. You have to go home with your mom. You know I'm always with you." Ezran said to Zym, before putting his head next to his.
This made Zym feel better, before flying onto his mother's head. "I'm sorry you have to go. I wish there was a way we could combine our strength and purpose and face this together." Ezran said to Zubeia.
"King Ezran, maybe there is a way. Go with her." Opeli said to Ezran. Zubeia huffed in agreement. "But Katolis needs me." Ezran said to everyone. "The world needs you right now. The high council can take care of the people, I promise you." Opeli said to Ezran, as Corvus walked up to Ezran, with his old backpack in hand.
"She's right. Besides, we're going with you." Drake said to Ezran, elbowing Ezran in the shoulder. "But what about your flights? Can you really leave it." Ezran asked Drake. "Me and Allen made our flight to last without us." Drake said to Ezran.
"And if the world's in danger then you're going to need the gang backing you up." Allen said to Ezran. "He's right. We're a team. And after all that we've been through, I'd like to see any forces of evil try and stand against us." Kali said to Ezran.
Ezran smiled and took the backpack. "You're right. The kingdom will be in good hands." Ezran said to everyone. "Ezran, I've been working on something. A new kind of jelly tart! Uh, but instead of jelly,it has this mushy brown stuff I invented. I call them Brown Sludge Tarts!" Barius said to Ezran, as he came walking up with a small box in hand, and showing Ezran some tarts with some brown goo in it.
"You might need to rethink that name." Allen said to Barius. As Ezran sniffed them. "Are you sure about this? Brown sludge. This isn't going to be like that wired bread you made that only Bait liked?" Ezran asked Barius, as they looked down to see Bait getting really existed for the new tarts.
"Oh, you mean Grumpernickel?" Barius asked Ezran, before laughing. "No. No, no, no. I promise the brown sludge is remarkable!" Barius said to Ezran, as he closed the box and gave it to Ezran.
Ezran then looked at Callum, and he needed no words to know Ezran wanted him to join them. And while no one said anything, Soren decided to join. Callum and Soren returned their Pokemon to their Pokeballs before moving to Pyrrah, with Bait going with them.
"Accelgor, Bisharp, Braviary, Gothitelle, Musharna, you five don't mind staying behind and keeping an eye on things while we're gone?" Drake asked them, as he returned Samurott, Darmanitan, Hydreigon, Mienshao, Zebstrika, and Lilligant to their Pokeballs.
"Accelgor/Bisharp/Braviary/Gothitelle/Musharna." All of them said, sounding like an okay, before nodding their heads.
But Rayla didn't move, and watched, as Zubeia lowered her head, letting Ezran, Drake, Allen, and Kali onto her head, at the same time, Ezran, Allen, and Kali returned their Pokemon to their Pokeballs.
"Rayla, what are you waiting for?" Ezran asked Rayla. "I didn't know if you wanted me to come." Rayla said to Ezran, her head turned to Callum, who was on Pyrrah's back with Soren and Bait, for a second before turning it back to Ezran.
"We need you to come. Climb on up." Ezran said to Rayla. "Yeah. You might have been gone for a long time, but you're still our friend, and a part of our team. Plus we got some catching up to do." Kali said to Rayla.
This made Rayla smile, and run up to them, with all of her Pokemon in their Pokeballs. Ezran and Kali then help Rayla up onto Zubeia. Once Rayla was on her, Zubeia took off into the air and started to fly towards The Storm Spire, with all the Kilowattrel and Wattrel's following her.
Pyrrah and Talonflame were ready to take up, but were stopped by Callum. "Wait!" Callum said, making Pyrrah and Talonflame stop and look at Callum. "Uh, one quick stop first. Ibis said, "The Fallen Star". I have something that might be important. It's a mirror." Callum said to Pyrrah.
"Soren, I need your help." Callum said to Soren. Soren gave him a thumbs up. "If he's getting his mirror, I'm gonna get my toothbrush." Soren said to Bait, as Pyrrah started to move towards the castle.
This made Kaliq smile and move his head side to side from Soren's silliness. But when he did that, he noticed Talia and her Pokemon were missing. "Wait a minute? Where's Talia?" Kaliq asked everyone, as he kept looking around for her.
The Sunfire Camp
Back at the Sunfire Camp, the woman was trying to force the male Sunfire Elf to put out the candle. "Put it out. You'll set the whole camp on fire." the woman said to the male Sunfire Elf. "Who are you? What place does a human have, telling me what to do?" The male Sunfire Elf asked the woman.
"I'm the architect who designed this camp, and I bullet half of it with my own hands. Open flames are off limits." The woman said to the male Sunfire Elf. "My mother passed away today. This is her spirit flame. It has to burn through the night. So that at dawn, her spirit can return to the light of the Sun." The male Sunfire Elf said to the woman, trying to touch her heart.
"Nothing gets to burn through the night." The woman said to the male Sunfire Elf, not caring. "Please! I promise, there won't be a single spark or ember. I'll stay awake all night until the dawn." The male Sunfire Elf said to the woman, stammering a little, and getting the attention of a few humans, elves, and Pokemon that were passing by.
"No. We can't endanger everyone's lives because of your superstition!" The woman said to the male Sunfire Elf, annoying him.
The Castle In Katolis
Back at the Castle, Callum and Soren were in Callum study walking up to the mirror. "There it is, the mirror." Callum said to everyone. "I know that mirror too well. My father was obsessed with it." Soren said to Callum.
"In darkness, gaze upon a Fallen Star. I think this mirror is connected somehow to the evil returning to the world. We need to bring it with us to the Storm Spire." Callum said to Soren, as Soren put a hand on his shoulder.
"Callum, I-I know you love magic, but… I hope you're careful, 'cause it can change people." Soren said to Callum. "Relax Soren. You've seen the other mages in the Dragonflights, they're still the same. Now let's take this mirror." Callum said to Soren, before grabbing the mirror and trying to move it, but he didn't have the muscle to move it.
This made Soren smirk, realizing Callum was probably right. "Come on, we'll lift it together on the count of three. Or we can ask Rhyperior, Garganacl, or Corviknight to car-." Callum said to Soren, but was interrupted by Soren picking up both the mirror and Callum with ease, making Callum yell.
"Soren's got a Primal source of his own. It's called "muscles"." Soren said to Callum, as Callum got off the mirror. "Flexio! Right, like how you do?" Soren asked Callum, laughing a little and started to leave.
Callum started to follow him, but then noticed his bag and the Cube on his desk, and took them before he left.
Outside they got back onto Pyrrah's back, and Pyrrah and Talonflame got ready to fly. "Oh, hold on!" Callum said, making Pyrrah and Talonflame stop and grunt at him. "We almost left Bait." Callum said to Pyrrah, as they noticed Bait was still on the ground with Callum's scarf in his mouth.
Pyrrah then used her mouth to help Bait onto her back. Bait then groaned to Callum. "Aw, Bait, you're the best!" Callum said to Bait, before taking the scarf from Bait and putting it around his neck. "Okay. Ready now." Callum said to Pyrrah.
Pyrrah grunted, before she and Talonflame finally took off into the sky and headed for the Storm Spire.
Xadia Sky
Meanwhile, Zubeia was flying through the sky, and everyone was taking in the sight, when Rayla looked at Zym and noticed the charms Sisu gave him hanging from his horns.
"I see Zym got his charms back." Rayla said to everyone. "Yep, after you left, I mailed the charms and some of the stuff you got from whoever that was to Allen." Drake said to Rayla.
"And once I got it, I remember Kumandra and then traveled to Zym to help him remember. And once Zym remembered Sisu, he was really excited and wanted to put the charms on his head." Allen said to Rayla.
"Excited? More like once he remembered Sisu and the others, he became electrified and started to shoot out lighting everywhere, we got zapped 20 times before he finally calmed down and let you attack those charms to his horns." Kali said to everyone, before everyone but her laughed a little.
But that's when Drake heard an extra laugh in the group and turned his head to see to the source of the laugh, that's when he noticed a ponytail with three pieces of seaweed wrapped around it flapping in the wind.
"TALIA!" Drake said, as he pulled out Talia out of hiding, getting everyone's attention. "What are you doing here young lady?" Drake asked Talia, as he let her go.
"Sorry, I just wanted to come along for the adventure." Talia said to Drake. "This is a serious matter, Talia. This isn't like us settling disputes or testing out a new invention. This could be very dangerous." Drake said to Talia.
"I can take care of myself. Besides, if things are really that bad, then do you really have time to turn around and drop me off back at home?" Talia asked Drake. "She has a point." Kali said to Drake. "Not helping." Drake said to Kali.
Drake then looked at Talia with a serious look for a few seconds before sighing. "Fine. you can stay, but if things go south, you will do what I say, exactly as I say it, and you will not question it. Is that understood?" Drake asked Talia. "Thank you. I'll do my best to help." Talia said to Drake.
"So who is this Tidebound Elf?" Rayla asked Drake. "This is Talia, she's a member of the Black Dragonflight. And her ideas are all about getting Ezran into trouble." Drake said to Rayla, as he gave Talia a serious look, and Talia had a sheepish look on his face.
"I've been wondering about that. I've heard that you two have let Humans, Elves, and Dragons into The Black and White Dragonflights, and I wondered how you guys pick who to join. I've heard many rumors of how it's done, but they're all over the place, from setting the recruit on fire or striking them with lighting, and making them eat fire or lightning." Rayla said to Drake and Allen, making them giggle.
"I suppose the rumors have gotten a little out of hand. But it's nothing that crazy. While you were gone, me, Kali, and Janai went on a little adventure, and on that adventure, I learned that if you're someone of truth, then my staff will grant you the charm, all you have to do is grab my staff. Drake's staff can do the same thing for someone of ideal. And the whole lighting and fire thing is because if you're not someone of truth or ideal, then our staff will burn or zap you, and if you're really not someone of truth or ideal, then they're set on fire or are struck by lightning." Allen said to Rayla.
"And what adventure what at?" Rayla asked Allen. "I'll tell you later. But know that it was the three of us, working with a little detective to solve a mystery." Allen said to Rayla.
"Well then maybe you can tell me about how you guys figured out how to give Primal sources to humans that don't involve Dark Magic. I never heard how it's done, but I heard it's a very painful process." Rayla said to Allen and Drake.
"Oh it is. But we don't just let anyone take part, they first have to be a member of the flight first, that way we know they're not just after power. Second we explain how it works, and how it's really, really painful. And third we put them through the trial of Ideal or Truth, depending on what dragonflighting you're in." Drake said to Rayla.
"Trail of Ideal or Truth?" Rayla asked Allen and Drake. "The Trail of Truth, is the easier of the two, but still hard. It starts by both me and the trial tacker holding my staff. Then me, and 19 other members of the White Dragonflight each ask him a question, and it can be anything. Lie once, and you fail." Allen said to Rayla.
"Sounds… embarrassing." Rayla said to Allen. "It is, but earning magic should not be a simple task. But compared to the trail of Ideal, the Trial of Truth is a simple task." Allen said to Rayla, as he looked at Drake.
"What is he talking about?" Rayla asked Drake. "The trial of Ideas are changed to match the ideal of the ones taking the trial. Let me tell you about the trial I had not long ago with Leon Wrigers." Drake said to Rayla.
The Past
In the past, Drake was standing on the edge of a canyon with stone columns and dead trees all over the place, with Musharna and Gothitelle next to him, as the run rose behind him.
Walking into the canyon was a 15 year old boy with fair skin, slim body, blond hair, brown hair, wearing clothes similar to Callum's old outfit, but was now different shades of a Tan color, and the Black Dragonflight charm pined over his heart. Following him was a Male Pyroar, and a Tyranitar.
And laying on top of a stone column, that was far away from anything, was a female Pyroar and a Phanpy. And laying next to them was a young boy, with light skin, slim body, blue eyes, messy brown hair that was longer in the back, wearing a white long sleeve dress shirt, with a brown vest over that, dark brown pants and leather shoes, and the Black Dragonflight charm on a self made necklaces. The boy was talking to the Pyroar and Phanpy, as he drew a few drawing,
"I met Leon and his little brother Cody Wrigers while dealing with some dark mage remnants. The group was trying to turn a pair of Pyroar to make some dark beast, and start a new breed of monsters. But Leon and Cody were able to out smart them, and get the two Pyroar free. That's when I showed up and finished what they started. Once the dark mages were taken care of. I talked to them, and they told me they found Pokemon to be amazing, and love being with them, with Cody wanting to learn everything about them. Leon then asks if they could join, and while I know why Cody wanted to join, I asked Leon why he wanted to join. He told me he wanted to make the world a little better for his little brother. So I told them about my staff and put them to the test, and they passed. And a few months later Leon asked me for a trial of Ideal. When I asked why, he told me he wanted magic to make better things for his brother. So I put that Ideal up to the task." Drake said to Rayla in the present.
"Your task is simple, Leon." Drake said to the 15 year old boy. "You must help your brother Cody down." Drake said to Leon, as he pointed to the other boy. "And you can only work with what's around you and what you have." Drake said to Leon.
"But this place is a waste land, and I don't have anything on me." Leon said to Drake. "You have all you need. Show me that you have the will to make your ideals reality." Drake said to Leon, before slamming his staff onto the ground, meaning start.
"You made him try and save his brother?" Rayla asked Drake in the present, as the past Drake watched Leon wander around the canyon, thinking of a plan. "Cody was in no danger, Musharna and Gothitelle were on standby in case anything happened. Plus he told me that he wanted to make things better for his brother, so it was only fitting that his Trail of Ideal was helping his brother. Besides Leon had all he needed, he just had to put the pieces together." Drake said to Rayla in the present, as Leon had an idea.
"Pyroar can use Acrobatics and knock down the branches, and Tyranitar use Iron head on the wall and break off some rock." Leon said to Pyroar and Tyranitar.
"Pyroar/Tyranitar." Pyroar and Tyranitar said, as Pyroar started to jump around the dead trees, making the branches fall of the tree and towards the ground from Pyroar's wight, and Tyranitar's head turned silver, and he slammed his head into walls, breaking small rocks out of canyon walls.
Leon then gathered the wood and stones, and started to make a crude ladder out of the wood and stones, with the wood being used for the steps and the rocks as nails to hold it together.
"Leon figured out that he could make a ladder, which is what I expected him to do. But his first ladder broke after taking the first step. The second ladder didn't do much better. Nor the third, fourth, fifth, and so on." Drake said to Rayla in the present, as his past self watched Leon ladders keep breaking, some form using them, and others from building them.
"But he never gave up, even after failing so many times." Drake said to Rayla in the present, as his past self watched Leon try and think of something else since this idea wasn't working. That's when Leon had an idea.
"Tyranitar use Smack Down on the trees, and Pyroar use Body Slam on the trees Tyranitar shot a hole into." Leon said to Pyroar and Tyranitar. "Tyranitar/Pyroar." Tyranitar and Pyroar said, as Tyranitar fire rock threw the base of the dead trees leaving some big holes, then Pyroar slammed his body into the trees, knocking them down. Once the trees where all down, they started to work in making a thicker ladder, using the tree trunks to make it.
"It took Leon a while to figure it out, but he managed to make a ladder and help his brother down. But that was okay, after all the trial was not about speed, it was about figuring out how to make his ideal reality, and the will to see it through." Drake said to Rayla in the present, as his past self watched Leon and Tyranitar set up the ladder, and Leon climbed it to the top, before picking up Cody, and helping Cody down and off the stone column.
Once Leon, Cody, Female Pyroar, and Phanpy were on the ground, Drake, Gothitelle and Musharna then flew down to them, with Gothitelle using her psychic powers to fly down.
"Very good Leon. You pass. Now let me ask, do you wish to take the ritual now or later. Know that it will not mean a failure to wait until you recover after this trial." Drake said to Leon.
"I'm ready right now. I may be a little sweaty from all that hard labor, but I'm still in good shape. So let's do this." Leon said to Drake, a determined look on his face, and Drake giving him a serious look as well.
"Very well. But remember you asked for this." Drake said to Leon, before throwing his tera orb at male Pyroar, turning it into his Tera Fire form.
"Wiat, why did you turn Pyroar into his crystal form?" Rayla asked Drake in the present, as past Drake pulled out a Fire Ruby, and had Leon hold it, while he stood in front of Leon, and Pyroar behind him.
"We learned that A pokemon crystal type helps with unlocking A Primal Source." Drake said to Rayla in the present, as past Drake turned his staff into the crystal form it unlocked while in Kumandra.
"Out of curiosity, what crystal Type goes with what Source?" Rayla asked Drake in the present, as past Drake then raised his staff into the air and sparkly red and purple energy started to come out of Pyroar's Tera hat and Drake's staff, and move around Leon.
"Fire type for the Sun Source. Water Type for the Ocean Source. Grass, Rock, and Ground for the Earth Source, Flying and Electric for the Sky Source. Dark and Ghost for the Moon Source. And we're still trying to figure out how to unlock the Star Source. With this info, we put it as a requirement that before you take the trail, you make friends with a Pokemon that has a Crystal type that matches the Source you want, otherwise they'll run away when the person's body starts to become crystal and ruin the ritual." Drake said to Rayla in the present, as the Fire Ruby started to glow and break apart into particles entering Leon's skin and glowing red crystals started to appear all over his body.
"Wait! Become crystal? What are you talking about?!" Rayla asked Drake in the present, as Leon started to groan very loudly in pain and drop to his knees.
"Allen and I learned that by using a Pokemon's Crystal form of the right element, and our staffs in its Crystal form. We can channel the natural energy from both, and cause an Elemental Gem to change and fuse with a person's body giving them access to an Elemental Source." Drake said to Rayla in the present, as Leon's body was slowly being covered in the glowing red crystals.
.
"How'd you learn that?" Rayla asked Drake in the present, as Leon's whole body became encased in the glowing red crystal.
"You don't want to know. But while this process doesn't require people going through the same thing as Callum did to unlock a Source, it still holds a great danger. If interrupted during the middle of it, it will result in the person's death. If the person doesn't have the courage to face the pain, or the will to break free, the crystals will consume your body and shatter into pieces, ending your life. But for those who do, they can break free of the crystals." Drake said to Rayla in the present, as the crystal around Leon started to crack and move a little. Then Leon let out a yell, as the crystal broke off him, realizing himself as his normal self.
"We let everyone know about this when they want to take the Trails, and make the Trails hard for them to pass. After all we have to know if their courage or will is strong enough to break free of the crystal, otherwise we'd be just throwing their lives away, and we can't let the people who trust us die because we didn't make sure they were ready." Drake said to Rayla in the present, as he and male Pyroar turned off their crystals, and Drake moved to rub the back of Leon, who was leaning forward and taking some deep breaths, trying to catch his breath.
"How are you feeling?" Drake asked Leon, as Leon finally caught his breath. "I feel… hot. Like my insides are warm and boiling a little." Leon said to Drake. "That's normal when you unlock Sunfire magic, that feeling will pass." Drake said to Leon, as he help Leon up.
"Now let's tryout your magic. Here, the rune for a simple Sunfire spell. It's called Digitus Illustris." Drake said to Leon, as he pulled out a piece of paper with a rune drawn on it.
Leon then held out his right hand's index finger and took a deep breath, making a tiny orange light appear on the end of his index finger. Leon then drew a rune that looked like a circle with a line going from the bottom of the circle to the middle of it.
"Digitus Illustris." Leon said, as the rune glowed before breaking fading away. That's when a tiny ball of fire appeared on the top of his right index finger. This made Leon and Cody gasp in amazement.
"Congratulations Leon Wrigers, you are now a Sunforge mage. You have much to learn before you're a master, but I know you'll get there. And I hope you'll make not only me, but the rest of the Black Dragonflight proud by how you'll use your magic." Drake said to Leon.
"I promise I won't let you down master Drake." Leon said to Drake, saluting him. "Good. Now come on. It's the middle of the day, and we all could use some lunch." Drake said to Leon. "Of course sir." Leon said to Drake, before blowing out the fireball at the tip of his index finger, and they all started to leave.
Xadia Sky
Back in the present, after a bit more of flying, a thought crossed Ezran's mind. "So, this Fallen Star person who's returning, if they're a fallen star, was there a time when they were just a star?" Ezran asked Zubeia.
"His name is Aaravos. And yes, he was a star. A Startouch Elf." Zubeia said to Ezran. "A Startouch Elf! Even with everyone I know, neither I or anyone has ever seen one. I was wondering if they still existed. Not to mention that we have never unlocked that power for the humans in our Dragonflights." Talia said to Zuebia.
"They do exist, little one. And the one we face was one of the Great Ones, respected and loved by all until we uncovered long-hidden treachery. Starting with putting the Great Dragons to Sleep." Zuebia said to Talia.
"Wait?! Aaravos was the one that put them to sleep, and caused the fall of the Dragonflights?!" Kali asked Zubeia.
"He did more than just that. Hundreds of Years ago, Avizandum's closest friend and closest advisor was the caretaker of the Great Dragons, Luna Tenebris, the Archdragon of the Moon. While Avizandum grew up, Luna stood at the Great Dragons' sides, and learned many things from them, even taking care of them as they slumbered. Us dragons looked towards her as a spiritual leader." Zubeia said to everyone.
"She sounds like a kind, wise, and nice lady." Talia said to Zubeia.
"She was. Then one day she mysteriously died. Luna's death shook the dragons, leading to us Archdragons being unable to handle the growing uncertainty that started to take root in their hearts. Soon that uncertainty started to swirl and escalated towards inevitable violence, the great leader of the Sunfire Elves, Queen Aditi, stepped in to bring peace." Zubeia said to everyone.
"Wait a minute. I heard about this in the history books. You're not talking about the day Queen Aditi mysteriously disappeared are you?!" Kali asked Zubeia.
"Yes. Avizandum invited Queen Aditi to share the knowledge she had gained as a wise leader, and bring peace and comfort to the dragons. But before she could share that wisdom. Queen Aditi went missing. This led to chaos and confusion erupting throughout the land, and war threatened to tear Xadia apart, as now the elves suspect the dragons had killed their queen. But the truth came from an unexpected source. A young human girl uncovered a great secret of history, a dangerous deceiver was revealed. It was one of the Great Ones, the Startouch Elf Aaravos." Zubeia said to everyone, as she remembered a young woman, who had the same Cube Callum now owns.
"So Aaravos was behind some of the worst things in history?!" Kali asked Zubeia.
"For a thousand years, Aaravos had been pulling invisible strings like a puppet master. Every great crisis the world faced seemed the work of some ingenious and powerful leader… but in each case, it was secretly Aaravos whispering in their ear." Zubeia said to everyone.
The Storm Spire
And at the Storm Spire, Aaravos' latest puppet, Claudia, was sleeping in her sleeping back, snoring and groaning a little. But the loudest thing in the cave was actually Terry, who was crying so loud that Viren and Grav couldn't sleep, and got up, making Terry notice them.
"I'm sorry." Terry said to them, stammering and shuddering as he talked. "It's just, I'm…" Terry said to them, but stopped when he started sniffling a little. "Spit it out. What's making you cry like a baby?" Grav asked Terry.
"Yesterday was one of the hardest days of my life. I Killed someone." Terry said to Grav, as he started to sob, looking at his hand. "He was a mage, a Skywing Elf. A-And he was going to take Claudia's life, I had no choice!" Terry said to them, still crying, before looking at Viren.
"I love your daughter so much. Look at her sleeping, she's just perfect." Terry said to Viren, as they turned their heads to the sleeping Claudia, who started to drool. "If perfect means disgusting, then you're right. And stop being such a wimp. Did you forget who we are and who we're with? Something will always be after us. If you wish to live to see the next moon, then you must kill whatever comes to claim our lives." Grav said to Terry.
"While rude, Grav is right. And I have always been ready to do anything to protect my family, however dangerous, however vile." Viren said to Terry, making Terry stop crying.
"But there is an aching pain mixed with love that you feel in these moments. In the name of love, you may perform acts so unforgivable… you will never forgive yourself." Viren said to Terry.
"Please, how do I live with this? How do I deal with these feelings?" Terry asked Viren. "I will tell you how." Viren said to Terry, not looking at Terry. "Yes! Please, I need to know." Terry said to Viren, as Viren looked at him with a serious look.
"Get a grip." Viren said to Terry, before going back to sleep. "Yeah. You wanted to be a man. So act like one, and not like the helpless female you were born as." Grav said to Terry, before going back to sleep. Leaving Terry to think by himself.
The Sunfire Camp
Back at the Sunfire Camp, the woman was still upset with the male Sunfire Elf, and started to form a little crowd, with a Houndoom in the crowd.
"You ungrateful elves. We humans are here to help you rebuild! Put the flame out. Put the flame out!" The woman said to the male Sunfire Elf, acting like she was one in charge of the whole camp, annoying the Houndoom in the crowd.
"I can't do it. I told you, I can't! This is my mother's Soul Candle. It has to burn through the night. Please let it stay lite." The male Sunfire Elf pleaded to the woman, as he got on his knees, his voice full of sadness. And while his plea did touch the Houndoom's heart, it didn't touch the woman's heart at all.
"If you won't put it out…" The woman said to the male Sunfire Elf, as she looked around and found a bucket of water. "Then I'll do it for you!" The woman said to the male Sunfire Elf, as she picked up the bucket of water, making the male Sunfire Elf gasp.
"HOUNDOOM!" The Houndoom roared, as he leapt out of the crown, his mouth full of flames in the shape of fangs. The woman screamed as Houndoom landed on her, and forced her to drop the bucket, spilling the water onto the ground.
Meanwhile at a different part of the camp, Gren, Marcos, and Chatot were laughing, having a good time, while Marcos petted his Yamper, who was sleeping in his arms. But the good times suddenly came to an end when they heard the streaming.
"What was that?" Gren asked everyone. "Pain, pain, pain." Chatot said to Gren. "I think it came from over there, commander!" Marcos said to Gren, as he put Yamper down, and they started to move towards the sound of the scream.
Back with the crowd, everyone watched with a shock look on their faces, as the Houndoom kept biting her right arm, leaving burns and bite marks. And while the woman cried in pain, she tried to use her other arm to get Houndoom off her, but Houndoom used his right leg to pin it to the ground and used his claws to slash her arm if she tried to raise her arm.
"Please! Help me! Get this beast off me!" The woman pleaded to the crowd. But no one helped her, most out of fear of getting bitten by Houndoom, some not wanting to draw attention to them, and a few didn't help because they felt after what she was about to do she deserved this.
But then everyone heard a roar, and everyone looked up to see dragons flying in. One was a female Flygon, and the other was a male Earth Dragon.
The Earth dragon is a two-legged dragon that is slim in figure and medium-sized, appearing with an elongated, armored neck. His two wings resemble those of a wyvern, featuring a single sharp claw on each of her wings. The scales covering his body come in shades of dark green and brown, with brown wing membranes, and a tan underbelly. His body is also covered in yellow spots and stripes. He has light spiraling horns in place of his ears, that fade from green into light at their tips, as well as a single spiraling horn on top of his head. Like other dragons, he has a set of sharp teeth, and three claws on each foot. Additionally, his upper feet are protected by dark gray plating. His small eyes are yellow, and in the middle of his head was a white circle.
Flygon's tail then became encased in Teal energy and looked scaly. Flygon then whipped Houndoom off the woman, and onto the ground. That's when the Earth dragon came down onto the Houndoom, pinning him to the ground with his large feet.
"And what's going on here?" Gren asked everyone, before noticing the Earth dragon was here, and Flygon was standing on Houndoom's head. "Sir Gaenor? What has happened?" Gren asked the Earth dragon.
Gaenor turned his head towards the woman, making Gren noticed the woman getting up, with her right arm covered in burn and bite marks, and her left arm covered in deep scratches. This made the woman cry from not only pain, but from sadness.
Xadia Sky
Back with the gang, as Zubeia flew through the sky, Ezran was playing with Stella a little, before a thought crossed his mind. "If these leaders were ingenious, why were they listening to someone so evil whispering in their ear?" Ezran asked Zubeia.
"Maybe they didn't know he was a bad guy. After all, if a stranger is helping you with something, you would think they're a pretty good guy." Allen said to Ezran.
"Correct. Aaravos was able to give them something they wanted very badly. Aaravos chose as his instruments people who had strong minds and strong hearts. But who had an insatiable thirst and fascination with magic. Aaravos could offer them access to the great mysteries of the universe." Zubeia said to everyone, as far behind them, Callum looked at the mirror and cube.
"Mages." Rayla said, realizing who she was talking about. "Yes, mages were his prey." Zubeia said to everyone. 'So what did you do? How did you stop him?" Ezran asked Zubeia.
"A Startouch Elf is no ordinary enemy. Our adversary was literally a being from the heavens with vast and mysterious powers. Even after Avizandum and I allied ourselves with the other Archdragons, we could not risk a direct confrontation. So we called the Great Dragons for aid, and they answered." Zubeia said to everyone.
"Wait, Kyurem, Reshiram, and Zekrom knew about Aaravos as well?" Drake asked Zubeia.
"Yes, and after explaining who we were facing, they knew who could help us stop Aaravos once and for all." Zubeia said to Drake. "And who was that?" Drake asked Zubeia. "Their elder brothers. The lord of Time, Dialga. The lord of Space, Palkia. And the Lord of Antimatter, Giratina." Zubeia said to everyone.
"DIALGA! PALKIA! GIRATINA! You've met them!?" Allen asked Zubeia. "You know them?" Rayla asked Allen.
"Only threw stories. The legends say that Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina are the first three beings to be born in the universe. That every second that passes is Dialga's heart beating. That every breath that Palkia lets out explains space. And that Giratina keeps the balance, and punishes anyone that messes with the flow of time and space." Allen said to Rayla.
"They sound incredible, and very intimidating." Talia said to everyone.
"They were. But they were wise. And they came up with a plan. One that would mean us beating Aaravos at his own game. We tricked Aaravos into helping us drive out the Great Dragons, telling him we would not bow to them again, and needed his help. We led Aaravos into our trap, and at that moment, Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina used their command of the very powers that flowed through Aaravos's body to trap him. Once he was trapped. A magical prison was created, meant to hold this villain for eternity. Part of its power is that no one knows where it is." Zubeia said to everyone.
"If he was really this dangerous why didn't you all kill him instead of locking him up?" Drake asked Zubeia. "That was Giratina's request. He thought being locked up for eternity alone would be a fitting punishment for one so arrogant." Zubeia said to Drake. "Okay, but how come he is only returning now, one of his puppets must have tried to free him before, right? Allen asked Zubeia.
"A few have tried, but they all failed, for not even us Archdragons have no clue as to the fate of Aaravos' prison. Each of the Archdragons had a clue, a piece of the puzzle, but not one of them had the complete picture." Zubeia said to Allen.
"If that's the case, what was yours and Avizandum's piece of the puzzle?" Allen asked Zubeia. "Avizandum was given an enchanted looking glass so he could keep watch on Aaravos and make sure he remained trapped and helpless." Zubeia said to everyone, making everyone nervous.
The Storm Spire
That's when they could see the top of the Storm Spire, and Rayla saw it first. "The Storm Spire. We're here." Rayla said to everyone, as Zubeia flew closer to the spire. "Hey, there's someone on the pinnacle." Ezran said to everyone, as they all noticed Ibis' dead body and Swellow laying next to him, tear staining his checks
This made them gasp. "Oh no." Ezran said, as Zubeia landed into the Storm Spire. And once they landed, the gang moved to the top of the spire, and moved to Ibis and tried to see if he could still be alive.
But when they reached there, they found Ibis was truly gone. "We're too late. He's gone." Rayla said to everyone, after she checked Ibis.
"Rest our friend. May you find peace in the Realm of the Dead, among the winds of the past." Kali said to Ibis, as Zym nuzzled his head, and put a claw on his heart. Zym then looked at everyone with a sad look and they all hugged him, trying to comfort Zym.
A minute later, they all were in Zubeia's room, and told Zubeia about Ibis, with Swellow on Allen's shoulder. "Ibis was more than a great mage, he was a great friend. Losing Ibis is heartbreaking, but the world will face cascades of heartbreak and loss if we don't stop Aaravos." Zubeia said to everyone.
"Your right, Ibis gave his life to stop Aaravos, we can't let him die in vain." Drake said to Zubeia, as they heard Pyrrah roar and she came flying in. When Callum got off Pyrrah, he noticed everyone had a sad look on their faces.
And while no one said anything, Callum understood the hidden message, and a sad look appeared on his face.
A minute later, Soren set up the mirror, as they all let out Serperior, Samurott, Lurantis, Gliscor, Yanmega, Lycanroc, Rhyperior, and Milotic out of their Pokeballs. 'And there we go." Soren said, as he finished setting up the mirror.
"Somehow, you have Avizandum's Looking Glass?" Zubeia asked Callum. "I'm pretty sure that means mirror, right? So, yes. Lord Viren stole it. I never knew what it was or whose it was, until now." Callum said to Zubeia.
"The looking glass is enchanted and linked to an identical mirror within the magical prison. When no light reflects off its surface, it becomes as clear as a window and you can see directly into the prison itself." Zubeia said to everyone, as they moved closer to the mirror.
"It all makes sense. "In darkness, gaze upon a Fallen Star"." Callum said to everyone. "Where did that come from?" Allen asked Callum. "This morning, I translated the ruins on the mirror, and that's what they say." Callum said to Allen.
Meanwhile in the cave, Claudia was clanging their pot with a stick, making everyone wake up with a groan. "Come on, sleepyheads, it's dawn! And that means it's spell time!" Caludia said to everyone, as she threw the pot away, and picked up Viren's staff and ran out of the cave. "I hate her." Grav said, as the rest of them stood up and exited the cave.
Outside, Claudia laughed, as the sun started to rise. "The spell needs the sun's first light to open the chrysalis. So get ready." Claudia said to Viren, as she held his staff to him. But Viren just took a step back, before reaching out a hand.
Back at the top, the sunlight started to shine in the room. "The sun's coming up. It won't be dark enough to see through the mirror." Rayla said to everyone. "A little sunlight won't be a problem." Zubeia said to Rayla. "Vocare nimbum." Zubeia said, as she summoned a storm cloud with lighting crashing in it outside, blocking out the sunlight.
This made the room go dark. "It's working!" Ezran said, as Zym whimpered in joy. "Um, I am a storm dragon." Zubeia said to Ezran, smirking a little. "I certainly hope it working." Zubeia said to everyone, before the mirror started to glow. "It looks like it is." Talia said to Zubeia, as an image appeared on the mirror.
It was Aaravos, but he didn't look so good. Burns were all over his body and clothes, his hair was the same, but his horns were cut off leaving bumps on his head, carved into his cheeks was Japanese Hiragana for Prisoner(Shūjin), and the grossest part was how he had platinum chains with black runes on them going through his body, leaven festering wounds where the metal entered his body.
The four longest chains that were attached to the floor and went threw his shoulders and thighs, he had a chain jabbed into his arms forcing it into a V shape, a chain jabbed into both of his wrists and ankles connected them, tiny chains jab into his elbows and into his gut, and the last chain was melted to his neck and dangling a very heavy metal ball that forced Aaravos to slouch forward with his head lowered.
"That's Aaravos? I was kinda expecting something more… elegant, and less… disturbing." Allen said, as everyone looked at Aaravos with a disgusted look on their faces.
Confused by this, Zubeia lowered her head, looking to see Aaravos, and a confused look appeared on her face. "What happened to him?" Zubeia asked, as Aaravos raised his head and looked at everyone.
Outside on the ground, Viren was frozen in place about taking the staff, and Caudia couldn't wait for him to take it. "Dad, we're running out of time. The spell needs the sun's first light. No second, third, or fourth lights. First!" Claudia said to Viren, before forcing the staff towards him.
But this made Viren move back a little and start stammering. "Just do it yourself. We're wasting time, and like this fool knows the spell needed." Grav said to Claudia
"Fine!" Claudia said to Grav, as she got into position and unfolded the staff, but now it had a few parts floating off it. "I didn't even know it could do that." Viren said, thinking out loud. "Isn't that your staff?" Grav asked Viren, as Terry chuckled a little.
"Claudia really knows-." Terry said to Viren, but was shushed by Claudia. "You guys, be quiet! I need to do the spell!" Claudia said to everyone, before her eyes glowed purple, and sunlight gathered into the staff's gem, before purple energy beam into the chrysalis. Claudia then started chanting the spell, as the beam kept hitting the chrysalis.
At the top, Aaravos moved closer to the mirror, and noticed everyone in the room. This got Allen, Drake, Soren, and the Pokemon on edge.
Then Aaravos opened his palm, and Callum let out a gasp, before holding his neck like he was choking. Then everyone noticed black flashes and turned to see the runes on the chains shooting out black lighting, zapping Aaravos and causing major pain that made Aaravos grit his teeth.
But Aaravos worked through the pain, and kept casting a spell that made Callum drop to his knees and lower his head.
"Callum." Rayla said to Callum, before moving towards him. But once she got close, Callum's head turned to her, showing his pitch black eyes, making Ezran and Talia gasp.
Then Aaravos waved his hand making Callum stand up, startling everyone. Then Callum's eyes glowed purple, and Aaravos smirked.
Outside on the ground, Claudia kept channeling the spell, letting out pulses of sunlight every now and then, with all the stuff in the cave being tossed around like they were in a twister. And after a bit, Claudia finally stopped the spell, making Claudia wheezy and panting, as she fell to her knees. Grav didn't move, but Viren and Terry ran up to Claudia.
At the top, Aaravos used Callum like a puppet to walk around the room and see who's around. Ezran tried to move towards Callum, but Soren and Drake stopped him. All the while, Yanmega gave Aaravos a mean look and lightly growled.
"Zubeia. You haven't aged a bit. You look as young and ravishing… as the day you betrayed me. So sorry to hear of your mate's untimely and tragic passing." Aaravos said to Zubeia, threw Callum, making Zubeia growl at him and huff some wind.
Aaravos then made Callum turn to the gang. "So these are the champions you've gathered to try and stop me? They're nothing but pathetic children." Aaravos said to Zubeia, holding out a hand towards the gang, before making Callum move towards the gang.
"The whining child king. In over his head and he knows it." Aaravos said, as he made Callum get close to Ezran, making Lycanroc growl at Aaravos.
"The Moonshadow assassin who… Can this be right? Isn't capable of killing." Aaravos said, as he made Callum get close to Rayla, making Gliscor pitch her pincers at Aaravos.
"The failed son, whose father wishes he had never been born. Ouch!" Aaravos said, as he made Callum get close to Soren, making Soren feel a little bad, before he felt Bait and Rhyperior put a hand on him, making him feel better.
"The Sunfire Elf, who's of a kingdom and Dragonflight that has fallen form their glory days of old. It must be embarrassing for you." Aaravos said to Kali, as he made Callum get close to Kali, making Lurantis get into a fighting stance, at the same time she gave him a mean look.
"A new girl, A Tidebound Elf who clearly has no idea what she's getting into." Aaravos said, as he made Callum get close to Talia, making Milotic wrap around Talia in a defensive way.
"My favorite, the human mage, already tainted by darkness and destined to play right into my hands." Aaravos said, as he made Callum get close to the mirror and forced Callum to bow to himself.
"And lastly, the twins, heralds of the Great White Dragon and the Great Black Dragon, and the two trying to undo centerious of hate in such a short life. You heralds aways shot to change the world in the names of your gods." Aaravos said, as he made Callum get close to Allen and Drake, with Serperior and Samurott ready to fight at the drop of a hat.
"And you're the big bad boogie man Aaravos. I gotta say I was expecting someone more impressive." Allen said to Aaravos, looking at the mirror, and making Aaravos laugh a little.
"That back bone reminds me of your predecessor. But he's no longer in my way, and I'll finally be free from this place." Aaravos said to Allen. "Big talk from someone with chains going through their body, locked up tight, and locked up in a prison no one knows where it is." Drake said to Aaravos. "Oh, but you're wrong. For you see, my time has come." Aaravos said to Drake.
Outside on the ground, the chrysalis started to open. "My return to this world is inevitable!" Aaravos said to Drake, as on the ground, something twisted came out of the cave.
The Being is a skinny creature of unknown species that heavily resembles his creator Aaravos. Meager and small in figure, the Being tends to crawl on his elongated fingers and toes instead of walking upright. His skin is light and dark purple in shade, and lighter colored markings stretch across his upper arms, his face, and lower legs. On his chest he bears the symbol of the Stars, the same one that marks the chest of Aaravos. The features on his elongated head include tiny nostrils, large and yellow-colored eyes, long ears that grow upward, as well as a fang-like mouth that occasionally spits out a green oozing substance. Like Aaravos, the Being's hair is long and white, resting on top of his shoulders while pulled back behind his bright purple horns. A pair of butterfly-like wings are growing from his back. Generally, the Being's body is bare, with the exception of a cloth tied around his waist.
Back at the top, Ezran, Soren, Rayla, Kali, and Talia looked at Aaravos with worried looks on their faces, and Allen, Drake, and the Pokemon looking at Aaravos with serious looks on their faces.
"And neither you two and your friend, or your predecessor can stop me." Aaravos said to Allen and Drake, before he waved his hand zapping himself, as he let Callum go, and caused Callum to fall to the ground. "Callum!" Rayla said, as she rushed to catch him. "Oh, Callum." Rayla said to Callum worried about him,
"See you soon. My little heralds. And when we meet, I'll make sure you pay for the indignities your predecessor has inflicted on me." Aaravos said to Allen and Drake, before blowing a kiss, causing the mirror to shatter.
Hello everyone, I hope you like this chapter. Please follow or review if you like this story. And before I go, know that I have a plan for Grav, and him being a major jerk is part of the plan, so please don't bother me about his attitude.
Oh and for the Japanese Hiragana on Aaravos cheeks, I don't really know if that's Hiragana or not, Japanese have three main writing systems. I just used Google Translate and wanted the lines for the Japanese word for Prisoner(Shūjin) to be on his face.
Next, I wanted to mention that the chains in Aaravos is meant to be like that, it was his punishment the cloak figure gave him after his Pokemon closed the door, so sorry if it grossed and/or freaked you out a little, but it was a fitting punishment in the eyes of the cloak figured. (Plus it's Aaravos, so you can't be too careful.)
Lastly, Gaenor is based off the Dragons in the Drakewood, like Squeaky. And while I got Digitus Illustris from the Dragon Prince Wiki, I couldn't find the rune, so I OC'd it's look.
