Poni Island Grand Trial (Part Two)
After Kahuna Hapu returned to Exeggutor Island after getting her Pokemon treated after their battle with Jimmy, she and Ed were facing each other while the rest of the group watched.
"Go get her, big brother!" said Sarah.
"Are you ready, Ed?" asked Hapu while holding a pokeball.
"You bet your sweet bippy I am." replied Ed who was also holding a pokeball.
"Go, Golurk!" said Hapu, throwing Golurk's pokeball and releasing it.
"Dewgong, let's go!" said Ed, throwing Dewgong's pokeball, and releasing her. "Dewgong, use Aqua Jet!" Dewgong flies at Golurk while water surrounded her body and she slams into Golurk, dealing super effective damage.
"Golurk, Shadow Punch!" said Hapu. Golurk throws a punch, releasing a shadowy fist from its fist, and it hits Dewgong, damaging her.
"Dewgong, Aqua Tail!" said Ed. Dewgong leaps at Golurk while water spiraled around her tail and she hits Golurk with it, dealing super effective damage.
"Golurk, Earthquake!" said Hapu. Golurk jumps up and lands on the ground on its feet, releasing a shockwave that hits Dewgong, damaging her.
"Dewgong, use Brine!" said Ed. Dewgong releases a stream of water from her mouth and its hits Golurk, dealing super effective damage, and knocking it out.
"Good work, Ed." said Edd.
"Way to go!" said Eddy. Hapu returns Golurk to its pokeball.
"You did your best, Golurk." said Hapu. She puts Hapu's pokeball away, and pulls out another one. "Gastrodon, go!" She throws Gastrodon's pokeball, and releases it.
"Dewgong, Ice Shard!" said Ed. Dewgong releases shards of ice from her body and she launches them at Gastrodon, hitting it, and dealing super effective damage.
"Gastrodon, Mud Bomb!" said Hapu. Gastrodon launches a ball of mud out of its mouth, and it hits Dewgong, dealing damage, and lowering her accuracy.
"Dewgong, Ice Beam!" said Ed. Dewgong fires multiple light blue beams of energy out of her horn and they hit Gastrodon, damaging it, and encasing it in ice.
"Gastrodon, try using Body Slam!" said Hapu. Unfortunately, Gastrodon remained frozen.
"Dewgong, Headbutt!" said Ed. Dewgong flies at Gastrodon and rams her head against it, shattering the ice, and knocking Gastrodon out.
"Wow; Ed's doing great!" said Maxiley.
"You bet he is." said Eddy. Hapu returns Gastrodon to its pokeball.
"You rest now, Gastrodon." said Hapu. She puts Gastrodon's pokeball away and pulls out another one. "Flygon, go!" She throws Flygon's pokeball, and releases it. "Flygon, Dragon Breath!" Flygon fires a light green beam of energy out of its mouth and it hits Dewgong, damaging her; she begins to twitch.
"Oh dear; there's a chance Dragon Breath will paralyze the Pokemon it hits." said Edd.
"Don't give up, Dewgong!" said Ed. Dewgong lets out a yell and expels the paralysis from herself, surprising Hapu. "Oh boy; now use Aurora Beam!" Dewgong fires a multicolored beam of energy from her horn, and it hits Flygon, dealing massive damage due to it being two types of Pokemon that are weak against ice attacks, as well as lowering Flygon's speed.
"Flygon, Dragon Claw!" said Hapu. Flygon flies at Dewgong while light green auras surround Flygon's hands and it claws Dewgong with them, damaging her.
"Dewgong, Ice Beam!" said Ed. Dewgong fires mulitple light blue beams of energy from her horn and they hit Flygon, dealing massive damage to it, and knocking it out.
"All right, Ed!" said Eddy.
"One more Pokemon to defeat and you will achieve victory, Ed." said Edd.
"You can do it!" said Sarah. Hapu returns Flygon to its pokeball.
"You did your best, Flygon." said Hapu. She puts Flygon's pokeball away and pulls out another one. "You're doing quite well, Ed; but you still have to beat my last Pokemon. Mudsdale, go!" She throws Mudsdale's pokeball, and releases it. "Mudsdale, Double Kick!" Mudsdale runs at Dewgong and kicks her with its hind legs, dealing super effective damage.
"Dewgong, Aqua Tail!" said Ed. Dewgong leaps at Mudsdale while water spiraled around her tail, and she hits Mudsdale with it, dealing super effective damage. Hapu raises an arm, revealing her Z-Ring that had her Groundium-Z Crystal on it. Hapu begins doing poses and channels energy onto Mudsdale; the Z Power symbol appears in front of it.
"Mudsdale, Tectonic Rage!" said Hapu. Mudsdale stomps onto the ground with its front hooves, creating a fissure that opens beneath Dewgong, who falls into it; Mudsdale burrows underground and tackles Dewgong out of the fissure with incredible force and she falls to the ground, unconscious while Mudsdale emerges from underground.
"Don't give up, Ed!" said Sarah.
"He hasn't in the past, Sarah; I don't think he ever will." said Edd.
"Not Ed's style." said Eddy. Ed returns Dewgong to her pokeball.
"You were great, Dewgong." said Ed. He puts Dewgong's pokeball away and pulls out another one. "Decidueye, let's go!" He throws Decidueye's pokeball and releases him. "Use Leaf Blade!" The edge of Decidueye's wings glowed green and he flies at Mudsdale; he slashes Mudsdale with them, dealing super effective damage.
"Mudsdale, use Payback!" said Hapu. Mudsdale releases black streams of energy from its body and they hit Decidueye, dealing super effective damage.
"Decidueye, Razor Leaf!" said Ed. Decidueye releases leaves from his body and they hit Mudsdale, dealing super effective damage.
"Mudsdale, Heavy Slam!" said Hapu. Mudsdale jumps up while a silver aura surrounds its body and it slams down onto Decidueye, damaging him. Ed holds up an arm, revealing his Z-Ring that had the Grassium-Z Crystal on it. Ed begins doing poses and channels energy onto Decidueye; the Z Power Symbol appears in front of him.
"Decidueye, Bloom Doom!" said Ed. Decidueye becomes surrounded by a light green aura and the area becomes covered in flowers; the aura surrounding Decidueye expands, creating an explosion that consumes Mudsdale, dealing super effective damage; when the explosion cleared, Mudsdale laid on the ground, unconscious.
"Ed won!" said Sarah.
"Never doubted him for a second." said Eddy.
"Ed was magnificent." said Edd. Hapu returned Mudsdale to its pokeball.
"You did great, Mudsdale." said Hapu. She puts Mudsdale's pokeball away and walks over to Ed, who was hugging Decidueye. "You trained your Pokemon well, Ed."
"Thank you, Hapu." replied Ed. Hapu reaches into her pocket and pulls out a Groundium-Z.
"For your victory, Ed; I present you with the Groundium-Z." said Hapu. She gives Ed the Groundium-Z, along with pokedollars. "Now, all I need is your Trainer's Passport so I can put a stamp on it to show you passed my Grand Trial." Ed gives Hapu his passport and Hapu puts a stamp on it. "Congratulations; you are now qualified to compete in the Alola League."
"Oh boy!" said Ed.
"Congratulations, Ed." said Edd. He then walks to Hapu. "I believe I will battle you next, Hapu."
"Then we will battle as soon as my Pokemon are healed." said Hapu.
"Very well." said Edd. While Hapu went to get her Pokemon healed, Edd goes over what strategies he will use in his Grand Trial.
Twenty minutes later, Hapu returns, and she and Edd get ready for their battle.
"Shall we begin?" asked Hapu.
"Yes." said Edd. He and Hapu each take a pokeball off their waists; Hapu tosses hers, releasing her Golurk, while Edd tosses his, releasing his Toucannon.
"Toucannon, please use Bullet Seed!" said Edd. His Toucannon fires off a barrage of seeds out of his beak, hitting Golurk, dealing super effective damage.
"Golurk, use Rollout!" said Hapu. Her Golurk tucks itself into a ball and rolls into Toucannon at fast speed, dealing super effective damage.
"Toucannon, please use Drill Peck!" said Edd. His Toucannon spirals towards the Golurk and jams his beak into it, dealing damage; the Golurk rolls back around and hits Toucannon again, dealing more damage than before.
"Double-D should do something before that Rollout gets too strong for Toucannon to handle." said Maxiley.
"Toucannon, please use Drill Peck one more time!" said Edd. His Toucannon rams his spiraling beak into Golurk again, this time doing enough damage to knock it out.
"Way to go, Double-D!" said Eddy.
"Keep it up!" said Jimmy. Hapu then returns her Golurk to its pokeball.
"You rest up now, Golurk." said Hapu. She puts Golurk's pokeball back on her waist and pulls another one off; she tosses it, releasing her Gastrodon.
"Toucannon, please use Bullet Seed!" said Edd. His Toucannon releases another barrage of seeds from his beak, hitting the Gastrodon, dealing a lot of super effective damage to it, due to it being a combination of two types of Pokemon that are vulnerable to grass type moves.
"Gastrodon, use Body Slam!" said Hapu. Her Gastrodon launches itself into the air and comes plummeting down onto Toucannon, dealing damage; Toucannon starts to twitch.
"Toucannon's paralyzed!" said Sarah.
"Toucannon, please use Bullet Seed again!" said Edd. Toucannon tries to attack, but paralysis stops him.
"Gastrodon, use Muddy Water!" said Hapu. A large wave of brown water rises up from beneath Gastrodon and washes over Toucannon, hitting him, and knocking him out.
"No way!" said Eddy.
"Don't give up, Double-D!" said Jimmy.
"You can do it!" said Ed. Edd returns his Toucannon to his pokeball.
"You did a splendid job, Toucannon." said Edd. He puts his Toucannon's pokeball back on his waist and takes another one off; he tosses it, releasing his Ariados. "Ariados, please use Absorb!" A stream of green energy comes out of Ariados's horn that hits Gastrodon, draining it of stamina.
"Gastrodon, use Muddy Water!" said Hapu. Another wave of brown water comes out from Gastrodon that hits Ariados, dealing damage.
"Ariados, please use Absorb again!" said Edd. Ariados hits Gastrodon with another stream of green energy, draining it of its remaining stamina that's used to heal Ariados, and knocking Gastrodon out.
"Sweet!" said Eddy.
"Two more to go!" said Maxiley. Hapu returns her Gastrodon to its pokeball.
"Rest up for now, Gastrodon." said Hapu. She puts her Gastrodon's pokeball back on her waist and pulls another one off; she tosses it, releasing her Flygon.
"Dragon types are quite powerful." said Edd. "But they do have weaknesses."
"Flygon, use Rock Slide!" said Hapu. Her Flygon summons up a bunch of rocks and drops them onto Ariados, dealing super effective damage.
"Ariados, please use Absorb!" said Edd. His Ariados hits Flygon with a green stream of energy, draining it of some of its stamina, and heals Ariados a bit.
"Flygon, use Dragon Claw!" shouts Hapu. Her Flygon swoops at Ariados as its claws glowed green and slashes her, dealing enough damage to knock her out.
"Ariados!" said Ed.
"Double-D can still win!" said Eddy. Edd returns his Ariados to his pokeball.
"Rest up, Ariados." said Edd. He puts Ariados's pokeball back on his waist and pulls another one off; he tosses it, releasing his Primarina.
"Flygon's in trouble." said Maxiley. "Primarina is part fairy type, so dragon type moves are useless against her."
"Primarina, please use Moonblast!" said Edd. Primarina forms a pink orb of energy between her flippers and launches it at Flygon, hitting it, and dealing super effective damage.
"Flygon, use Hyper Beam!" said Hapu. Flygon gathers a lot of energy and fires it at Primarina as a massive beam, hitting her, dealing a decent amount of damage.
"A powerful move." said Edd. "But unfortunately, the Pokemon using it can't attack for a while."
"A risk I had to take." said Hapu.
"Primarina, please use Sparkling Aria!" said Edd. His Primarina forms a massive bubble over her and throws it over Flygon; it bursts, releasing dozens of large bubbles that pelt Flygon, dealing enough damage to knock it out.
"One more to go!" said Eddy.
"Hang in there, Primarina!" said Sarah. Hapu returns her Flygon to its pokeball.
"You were great, Flygon." said Hapu. She puts Flygon's pokeball back on her waist and pulls her last one off; she tosses it, releasing her Mudsdale.
"Primarina, please use Hydro Pump!" said Edd. Her Primarina releases a powerful stream of water that hits Mudsdale, dealing super effective damage.
"Mudsdale, use Earthquake!" said Hapu. Her Mudsdale stomps down hard on the ground, releasing a powerful shockwave through it, hitting Primarina, dealing damage, but she still hangs in there.
"You can do it, Primarina!" said Jimmy. A powerful blue aura suddenly covers Primarina's body.
"That's Primarina's Torrent ability!" said Eddy. Edd then holds out his Z-Ring and inserts his Primarium Z Crystal into it; he then does the pose required to activate it, making Z-Energy cover him before it's transferred to Primarina, making the Z-Power Symbol appear in front of her.
"Primarina, please use Oceanic Operetta!" said Edd. Primarina sings a melody while making a very large water bubble over her; she then moves it towards Mudsdale, causing it to burst, creating multiple shockwaves that hit Mudsdale, and combined with Primarina's Torrent ability, it was enough to knock Mudsdale out.
"Double-D did it!" said Ed.
"Nice one, sockhead!" said Eddy.
"That was amazing!" said Maxiley. Hapu returns her Mudsdale to its pokeball.
"Rest up, Mudsdale." said Hapu. She puts Mudsdale's pokeball on her waist and walks over to Edd. "You trained your Pokemon well."
"Thank you." said Edd. Hapu takes a Groundium-Z, along with pokedollars, out of her pocket and gives it to Edd; she also takes a rubber stamp out of her pocket and puts a stamp on Edd's Trainer Passport, indicating he passed the Poni Island Grand Trial.
"Now you can compete in the Alola League." said Hapu.
"Splendid." said Edd. Hapu looks over at Eddy.
"Looks like it's your turn." Hapu says to Eddy.
"Sweet!" said Eddy.
"I'll return when I get my Pokemon healed." said Hapu.
"I'll be right here." said Eddy. While Hapu goes to get her Pokemon healed, Eddy goes over what Pokemon he would use.
Twenty minutes later, Hapu returns, and Eddy gets ready for his Grand Trial.
"Are you ready?" asked Hapu.
"Eddy is ready." said Eddy with a grin.
"That rhymed." said Ed.
"Indeed." said Edd. Hapu and Eddy each take a pokeball off their waists; Hapu tosses hers, releasing her Golurk, while Eddy tosses his, releasing his Leafeon.
"Leafeon, use Magical Leaf!" said Eddy. Leafeon releases a bunch of glowing green leaves from his body, hitting the Golurk, dealing super effective damage to it.
"Golurk, use Shadow Punch!" said Hapu. Golurk rears its fist back and throws a punch, releasing a gray, shadowy, fist from it that hits Leafeon, dealing damage.
"Leafeon, use Razor Leaf!" said Eddy. His Leafeon releases a barrage of leaves from his body, hitting the Golurk, knocking it out.
"Nice one!" said Maxiley.
"Way to go, Eddy!" said Ed. Hapu returns her Golurk to its pokeball.
"Thank you for trying, Golurk." said Hapu. She puts Golurk's pokeball back on her waist and pulls another one off; she tosses it, releasing her Gastrodon.
"Leafeon, use Quick Attack!" said Eddy. His Leafeon moves quickly at Gastrodon, ramming into it, dealing damage.
"Gastrodon, use Body Slam!" said Hapu. Her Gastrodon launches itself into the air, and lands on Leafeon with great force, dealing damage; fortunately, it didn't cause paralysis to him.
"Leafeon, use Giga Drain!" said Eddy. His Leafeon releases a large stream of energy from his body that covers Gastrodon, draining it of enough stamina to knock it out, as well as heal Leafeon of its injuries from the Body Slam attack.
"Leafeon's doing quite well." said Edd.
"Eddy's amazing." said Jimmy. Hapu returns her Gastrodon to its pokeball.
"You did your best, Gastrodon." said Hapu. She puts Gastrodon's pokeball back on her waist and pulls another one off; she tosses it, releasing her Flygon.
"Leafeon, use Magical Leaf!" said Eddy. His Leafeon releases another barrage of glowing leaves that hit Flygon, dealing damage.
"Too bad Flygon's part dragon." said Maxiley.
"Flygon, use Dragon Breath!" said Hapu. Her Flygon releases a stream of green energy from its mouth that hits Leafeon, dealing damage to him; he suddenly starts to twitch.
"Leafeon's paralyzed!" said Ed.
"Too bad the sunlight's not intense enough to activate Leafeon's Leaf Guard ability." said Edd. "That would've prevented any status condition."
"Leafeon, try using Giga Drain again!" said Eddy. Leafeon tries to do so, but paralysis stops it.
"Flygon, use Hyper Beam!" said Hapu. Flygon fires a powerful beam of energy from its mouth that hits Leafeon with enough explosive force to knock him out.
"No way!" said Sarah.
"Poor Leafeon." said Edd.
"At least Eddy still has Pokemon he can use." said Jimmy. Eddy returns his Leafeon to his pokeball.
"You were awesome, pal." said Eddy. He puts his Leafeon's pokeball back on his waist and pulls another one off; he tosses it, releasing his Noivern.
"At least Flygon can't attack for a while thanks to Hyper Beam's side effect." said Edd.
"Noivern, use Air Cutter!" said Eddy. His Noivern flaps her wings, releasing a barrage of wind blades that hit Flygon, dealing damage to it.
"My Flygon still can't attack yet." said Hapu.
"But Noivern still can." said Eddy. "Use Air Slash, pal!" His Noivern flaps her wings, releasing a large air blade that hits Flygon, dealing enough damage to knock it out.
"Yay, Eddy!" said Ed.
"One more to go!" said Maxiley. Hapu returns her Flygon to its pokeball.
"You were great, Flygon." said Hapu. She puts Flygon's pokeball back on her waist and pulls her last one off; she tosses it, releasing her Mudsdale.
"Noivern, use Wing Attack!" said Eddy. His Noivern swoops at Mudsdale and strikes it with one of her wings, dealing damage; a surge of energy rises up from Mudsdale.
"It's defense just increased!" said Edd.
"Mudsdale, use Stomp!" said Hapu. Her Mudsdale stomps hard on Noivern, dealing damage.
"Noivern, use Air Slash!" said Eddy. His Noivern flaps her wings, releasing another air blade that hits Mudsdale, dealing damage, and increasing Mudsdale's defense even more.
"Mudsdale, use Heavy Slam!" said Hapu. Her Mudsdale leaps up and falls towards Noivern, hitting her hard enough to knock her out.
"No way!" said Eddy.
"You can still win, Eddy!" said Edd.
"Just keep battling!" said Jimmy. Eddy nods before returning his Noivern to her pokeball.
"You were great, pal." said Eddy. He puts his Noivern's pokeball back on his waist and pulls another one off; he tosses it, releasing his Poliwrath. Eddy holds out his Z-Ring and puts his Waterium-Z Crystal into it; he then does the poses required to activate it, making Z-Energy cover him before it's transferred to Poliwrath, making the Z-Power Symbol appear in front of him.
"Do it, Eddy!" said Sarah.
"Poliwrath, use Hydro Vortex!" said Eddy. Poliwrath creates a strong swirling vortex of water and starts swimming through it; he directs it at Mudsdale, sweeping it up, and dealing enough super effective damage to knock it out.
"Eddy won!" said Ed.
"Wonderful." said Edd.
"That means all of us passed the Poni Island Grand Trial!" said Sarah. Hapu returns her Mudsdale to its pokeball.
"It's been a long day for us, Mudsdale." said Hapu. She puts Mudsdale's pokeball back on her waist before walking over to Eddy. "You truly earned the Lily of the Valley Conference championship."
"You know it." said Eddy. Hapu then reaches into her pocket and pulls out a Groundium-Z Crystal, along with pokedollars, and hands it to Eddy; she also takes a rubber stamp out of her other pocket and stamps Eddy's Trainer Passport.
"We did it!" said Jimmy.
"We all got all four stamps!" said Sarah.
"Now we can compete at the Alola League!" said Ed.
"Sweet!" said Eddy.
The Eds, Jimmy, and Sarah, have all passed their final Grand Trial. What awaits them now as their Alola adventure continues?
