Hammerlocke Gym Battles (Part Five)
"Yeah!" cheered Luna as her Toxtricity and her Politoed looked down on Aria's unconscious Abomasnow and Hakamo-o inside the Hammerlocke vault. Aria returns her Pokemon to their pokeballs and walks over to Luna.
"Excellent battle." said Aria.
"Thanks, dude." replied Luna. Aria gives Luna pokedollars while Raihan approaches her.
"Congratulations; you passed your Gym Test." said Raihan. "You've earned the right to battle me. Once you get your Pokemon treated, come to the stadium and we will have our battle."
"Sure, dude." said Luna. She returns her Pokemon to their pokeballs and she exits the vault; she walks to the nearest Pokemon Center to get her Pokemon treated.
Moments later, at the arena at Hammerlocke Stadium, Luna and Raihan were facing each other. Lincoln and his sisters and friends were watching from the audience with Marnie and Gloria each sitting on one side of Lincoln. At Royal Woods, the rest of the Louds, Clyde's dads, and Simon Sharp were watching on television.
"How do you think Luna will do?" asked Lynn Sr.
"If the others can beat Raihan, then so can Luna." said Lynn Jr.
"Oh, I hope so." said Rita. Back at Hammerlocke stadium, an official walks to the center of the battle arena.
"This match will be between the Gym Leader, Raihan; and the Gym Challenger, Luna Loud." said the official. "Both trainers will use four Pokemon, and each one can have two Pokemon out at the same time. Whichever trainer defeats all of their opponent's Pokemon first will be the winner. Let the match begin!" The official steps out of the arena while Luna and Raihan each pull out two pokeballs.
"Go, Gigalith and Flygon!" said Raihan, throwing his pokeballs and releasing his Gigalith and Flygon.
"Raihan's first two Pokemon are his Gigalith and Flygon; what will Luna bring out first?" asked the announcer. A sandstorm appeared out of nowhere due to Gigalith's Sand Stream ability.
"Sharpedo, Politoed, let's go!" said Luna, throwing Sharpedo and Politoed's pokeballs, and releasing them.
"And Luna brings out a Sharpedo and a Politoed." said the announcer.
"Politoed, use Rain Dance; Sharpedo, use Ice Fang on Flygon!" said Luna. Politoed wiggles his hips and dark rain clouds appeared above the arena; rain begins to fall, canceling Gigalith's sandstorm. Sharpedo lunges at Flygon while ice formed around his fangs and he bites Flygon, dealing super effective damage.
"Gigalith, use Body Slam on Politoed; Flygon, use Thunder Punch on Sharpedo!" said Raihan. Gigalith jumps up and slams down onto Politoed, damaging him; Flygon flies towards Sharpedo while electricity surrounded one of its hands and it punches Sharpedo, dealing super effective damage; Flygon rubs its fist. "You okay, Flygon?"
"No, it's not, and that's what it gets for punching a Pokemon with the Rough Skin ability." said Luna. "Politoed, use Bubble Beam; Sharpedo, use Crunch on Flygon!" Politoed fires a beam of glowing bubbles from his mouth and it hits Gigalith, dealing massive damage due to Politoed's Wave Incense, as well as the rain, powering up his water type moves. Sharpedo lunges at Flygon and bites it, dealing damage, and weakening its defense.
"Gigalith, use Body Press on Sharpedo; Flygon, Breaking Swipe on Politoed!" said Raihan. Gigalith jumps up and slams down onto Sharpedo, dealing super effective damage to him; Gigalith receives damage from Sharpedo's Rough Skin ability; Flygon flies towards Politoed while its tail glowed purple and it hits Politoed with it, damaging him.
"Politoed, use Mud Shot on Gigalith; Sharpedo, use Slash on Flygon!" said Luna. Politoed fires a ball of mud out of his mouth and it hits Gigalith, dealing super effective damage and Sharpedo does an aerial somersault on Flygon and slashes it with his fin, dealing enough damage to knock it out.
"Flygon is unable to battle. Politoed and Sharpedo wins the match." said the official.
"Luna's Sharpedo has taken out Raihan's Flygon; what will Raihan bring out next?" asked the announcer.
"All right, Luna!" cheered Sam.
"Keep it up!" said Lana. Back in Royal Woods.
"Luna's doing good so far." said Rita.
"She can, literally, do it." said Lori.
"Way, Wuna!" said Lily. Back at Hammerlocke stadium, Raihan returns Flygon to its pokeball.
"You were great, Flygon!" said Raihan. The rain from Politoed's Rain Dance stopped.
"Looks like Rain Dance wore off." said Clyde. Raihan puts Flygon's pokeball away and pulls another pokeball from his waist.
"Go, Sandaconda!" said Raihan before he throws his Sandaconda's pokeball and releases it.
"Raihan's next Pokemon is his Sandaconda." said the announcer.
"Politoed, use Bubble Beam on Gigalith; Sharpedo, use Liquidation on Sandaconda!" said Luna. Politoed fires another beam of glowing bubbles from his mouth at Gigalith and it hits it, dealing enough damage to knock it out; Sharpedo's flippers become covered in water; he lunges at Sandaconda and strikes it with his flippers, dealing super effective damage.
"Gigalith is unable to battle. Politoed and Sharpedo wins the match." said the official.
"Luna's Politoed has beaten Raihan's Gigalith, bringing Raihan down to two Pokemon." said the announcer. Back at Royal Woods.
"Luna beat another of Raihan's Pokemon." said Luan.
"Now all Raihan has left is his Sandaconda and his Duraludon." said Lisa.
"Luna can take them." said Lynn Jr. Back at Hammerlocke Stadium.
"Go, Luna!" said Lola.
"You're doing awesome!" said Lincoln. Raihan returns Gigalith to its pokeball.
"You fought hard, Gigalith." said Raihan. He puts Gigalith's pokeball away and takes out another pokeball. "You're doing quite well, Luna, now let's see how you do against my final Pokemon. Duraludon, go!" He throws his Duraludon's pokeball and releases it.
"And Raihan's final Pokemon is his Duraludon." said the announcer. Raihan then returns Duraludon to its pokeball and Raihan enlarges it with his Dynamax Band; he throws it and releases his Duraludon, now Gigantimaxed. "And Raihan has Gigantimaxed his Duraludon."
"Duraludon, use G-Max Depletion on Sharpedo; Sandaconda, use Slam on Politoed!" said Raihan. Red swirls of energy surround Duraludon; it releases it onto Sharpedo and a vortex of purple energy with blue dragon wings surrounds him and it damages him, knocking Sharpedo out; Sandaconda leaps at Politoed and slams its tail onto him, knocking him out.
"Politoed and Sharpedo are unable to battle. Duraludon and Sandaconda wins the match." said Luna.
"Raihan's Duraludon and Sandaconda have beaten Luna's Politoed and Sharpedo; now both trainers are down to two Pokemon." said the announcer.
"Don't worry, Luna, you can do it!" said Leni.
"We believe in you." said Lucy. Back in Royal Woods.
"This doesn't look good." said Lynn Jr.
"We must believe in Luna, Junior." said Lynn Sr.
"Your father's right." said Rita. Back in Hammerlocke Stadium, Luna returned her Politoed and Sharpedo to their pokeballs.
"You two were rockin'." said Luna. She puts Politoed and Sharpedo's pokeballs away and pulls out two more pokeballs. "Gigalith, Linoone, go!" She throws Gigalith and Linoone's pokeballs and releases them.
"And Luna's last two Pokemon are Gigalith and Linoone." said the announcer. Luna returns Gigalith to her pokeball and she enlarges it with her Dynamax Band; she throws it, releasing her Gigalith, now Dynamaxed. "And Luna has Dynamaxed her Gigalith."
"Gigalith, use Max Quake on Duraludon; Linoone, use Night Slash on Sandaconda!" said Luna. Linoone leaps at Sandaconda and slashes it with her claws, dealing damage; Gigalith releases a powerful shockwave that releases pieces of the arena floor at Duraludon, hitting it, and dealing super effective damage. Energy surges through Gigalith and Sandaconda, raising their special defense.
"Duraludon, use Max Steelspike on Gigalith; Sandaconda, use Fire Fang on Linoone!" said Raihan. Duraludon begins surging with energy and large metal spikes shoot up towards Gigalith and they pierce her, dealing super effective damage; energy surges through Duraludon and Sandaconda and their defense increases. Sandaconda lunges at Linoone while fire filled its mouth and it bites Linoone, dealing damage.
"Linoone, use Counter on Sandaconda; Gigalith, use another Max Quake on Duraludon!" said Luna. Linoone becomes surrounded by an orange aura and she swats Sandaconda with her paw, knocking it out; Gigalith releases a powerful shockwave that releases pieces of the arena floor at Duraludon, hitting it, and dealing super effective damage. energy surges through Duraludon and Sandaconda and their defense increases even more.
"Sandaconda is unable to battle. Duraludon and Linoone wins the match." said the official.
"Luna's Linoone has defeated Raihan's Sandaconda, leaving Raihan with only his Duraludon." said the announcer.
"Keep it up, Luna!" said Lincoln.
"You got this!" said Sam. Raihan returns Sandaconda to its pokeball.
"You did well, Sandaconda." said Raihan. He puts Sandaconda's pokeball away. "Duraludon, use G-Max Depletion on Gigalith!" Red swirls of energy surround Duraludon; it releases it onto Gigalith and a vortex of purple energy with blue dragon wings surrounds her and it damages her.
"Linoone, use Night Slash on Duraludon; Gigalith, one more Max Quake!" said Luna. Lincoon pounces at Duraludon and slashes it with her claws, landing a critical hit; Gigalith releases another powerful shockwave that releases pieces of the arena floor at Duraludon, hitting it, and dealing super effective damage. The energy around Duraludon explodes and it shrinks down to its regular size while returning to its regular form and passes out.
"Duraludon is unable to battle. Gigalith and Linoone win. The winner of the gym battle is the Gym Challenger, Luna Loud." said the official.
"It's over! Luna's Gigalith and Linoone have beaten Raihan's Duraludon and earning Luna the victory!" said the announcer.
"Oh, yeah!" shouts Luna.
"All right, Luna!" said Lana.
"That was so rad!" said Sam. Back in Royal Woods. Everyone was cheering for Luna.
"Luna won!" said Lynn Sr.
"I knew she could do it." said Rita.
"I, literally, believed in her too." said Lori. Back in Hammerlocke Stadium, Luna's Gigalith returns to her regluar size; Luna runs to her and pats her, and then she pats Linoone.
"You two were awesome." said Luna. Raihan returns Duraludon to its pokeball.
"You were incredible, Duraludon." said Raihan. He puts Duraludon's pokeball away and walks to Luna. "That was a great battle."
"You bet it was." replied Luna. Raihan then holds out a Dragon Badge towards Luna.
"For your victory here, I reward you with the Dragon Badge." said Raihan.
"Thanks, dude." said Luna, taking the Dragon Badge, along with pokedollars. "Rose Cup, here I come."
Later, at the stadium lobby, everyone was congratulating Luna.
"You were, totes, amazing, Luna." said Leni.
"Yeah, but it was close; I think I'll exchange Sharpedo for Falinks." said Luna. "I need more types of Pokemon for my team." She uses her Rotom Phone to exchange her Sharpedo for her Falinks. An official walks over to the group.
"Which of you will be taking the Gym Test next?" asked the official.
"I will." said Sam.
"Just change into your gym uniform, then report to the Hammerlocke Vault." said the official.
"Got it, dude." said Sam.
"Do your best, Sam." said Luna before she kisses Sam on the cheek.
"I will." said Sam. Once she was in her gym uniform, she heads over to the Hammerlocke Vault where Raihan explains the test to her. She then takes on all three of Raihan's students in Double Battles and manages to defeat all three of them.
Later, back in Hammerlocke Stadium, Sam was looking out onto the field from the inside of a tunnel.
"Everyone else got their eighth badges." Sam says to herself. "Time to see if I will also." She takes a deep breath and steps out onto the field, just as Raihan comes out of an adjacent tunnel, and they both meet at the center.
"If you're as strong as your friends, Sam; then this should be an intense battle." said Raihan.
"You'll have to wait and see for yourself." said Sam with a grin. She and Raihan walk to opposite sides of the field, just as an official walks to the center.
"This match will be between the Gym Leader, Raihan; and the Gym Challenger, Sam Sharp." said the official. Raihan throws his pokeballs, releasing his Flygon and Gigalith.
"Raihan's first two Pokemon are his Flygon and Gigalith!" said the announcer. "What Pokemon will Sam use?!"
"Time to rock." said Sam as she tosses her pokeballs, releasing her Gastrodon and Gourgeist.
"And Sam brings out her Gourgeist and Gastrodon!" said the announcer. A sandstorm appears out of nowhere, courtesy of Gigalith's Sand Stream ability.
"Gastrodon, use Rain Dance to get rid of this sandstorm! Gourgeist, use Trick-or-Treat on Flygon!" said Sam. Gastrodon wiggles around, making dark clouds appear overhead and start pouring rain onto the field, washing away Gigalith's sandstorm. A white energy sphere appears in front of Gourgeist that releases ghosts from it that seep into Flygon's body.
"What's that move?" asked Lucy with interest.
"I learned about it at Professor Magnolia's lab." said Lincoln. "It makes any Pokemon the move is used on into part ghost type."
"Wicked." said Lucy.
"Flygon, use Dragon Breath on Gastrodon! Gigalith, use Power Gem on Gourgeist!" said Raihan. Flygon releases a stream of green energy from its mouth that hits Gastrodon, while Gigalith creates crystals around itself that fires beams of energy that hit Gourgeist, dealing damage.
"Gourgeist, use Shadow Ball on Flygon! Gastrodon, use Water Pulse on Gigalith!" said Sam. Gourgeist releases a ball of black energy from her mouth that hits Flygon, doing super effective damage thanks to it being part ghost type right now thanks to Trick-or-Treat; while Gastrodon fires a pulsing mass of water, that was powered up by the rain and his Wave Incense, from his mouth that hits Gigalith, dealing super effective damage. Gigalith starts to stumble around a bit while Flygon's body sags a bit.
"And it looks like Gigalith's confused right now!" said the announcer. "Plus, it seems Shadow Ball has weakened Flygon's special defense!"
"Flygon, use Dragon Claw on Gourgeist! Gigalith, use Body Press on Gourgeist!" said Raihan. Flygon forms green claws of energy over its hands as it flies at Gourgeist and slashes her, dealing damage; Gigalith, however, trips over its feet, making it fall down and hurt itself.
"Gourgeist, use Shadow Ball on Flygon again! Gastrodon, use Muddy Water on Gigalith!" said Sam. Gourgeist fires another ball of dark energy at Flygon, dealing super effective damage and knocking it out; while Gastrodon releases a wave of brown water from his body that washes over Gigalith, dealing damage, and knocking it out.
"Both Flygon and Gigalith are unable to battle." said the official. "Gourgeist and Gastrodon are the winners!"
"And Sam takes down two of Raihan's Pokemon!" said the announcer. "What's Raihan going to do now?!"
"Yes!" said Lincoln as Marnie and Gloria were still holding his arms.
"Keep it up, dudette!" said Luna.
Back in Royal Woods, everyone was cheering Sam on.
"That was so cool!" said Lynn Jr.
"She can win!" said Luan.
"We, literally, know that." said Lori. Back in Hammerlocke Stadium, Raihan was returning his Pokemon to their pokeballs.
"You two really need a vacation after this day." said Raihan. He puts the pokeballs back on his waist, then pulls off his last two; he tosses them, releasing his Sandaconda and Duraludon.
"And Raihan's final Pokemon are his Sandaconda and Duraludon." said the announcer. Raihan then returns Duraludon to its pokeball and Raihan enlarges it with his Dynamax Band; he throws it and releases his Duraludon, now Gigantimaxed. "And Raihan has Gigantimaxed his Duraludon!"
"Gourgeist, use Seed Bomb on Sandaconda! Gastrodon, use Earth Power on Duraludon!" said Sam. Gourgeist fires large green seeds from her mouth that hit Sandaconda, dealing super effective damage to it, and activating its Sand Spit ability, causing another sandstorm to appear; Gastrodon slams onto the ground, making the earth beneath Duraludon erupt, dealing super effective damage, and lowering its special defense.
"Duraludon, use G-Max Depletion on Gastrodon; Sandaconda, use Brutal Swing on Gourgeist!" Red swirls of energy surround Duraludon; it releases it onto Gastrodon, and a vortex of purple energy with blue dragon wings surrounds him and it damages him. Sandaconda's tail glowed pink before it strikes Gourgeist, dealing enough super effective damage to knock her out.
"Gourgeist is unable to battle. Duraludon and Sandaconda are the winners." said the official.
"And Raihan takes down one of Sam's Pokemon!" said the announcer."What will Sam do now?!"
"Not cool, dude." said Luna.
"She still has three Pokemon she can use!" said Clyde.
"We gotta have faith in her." said Lucy.
Back in Royal Woods, everyone at the Loud house was still giving Sam their support.
"You can do it, Sam!" said Simon.
"She'd better." said Lynn Jr.
"Don't be like that, Junior." said Rita.
Back in Hammerlocke Stadium, Sam was returning her Gourgeist to her pokeball.
"You rocked, dudette." said Sam. She puts Gourgeist's pokeball back on her waist before pulling another one off of it; she tosses it, releasing her Stunfisk.
"And Sam brings out a Stunfisk!" said the announcer. Sam returns her Stunfisk to her pokeball and uses her Dynamax Band to enlarge it; she tosses it, releasing her, now Dynamaxed, Stunfisk. "And now we have Dynamaxed Stunfisk vs. Gigantamaxed Duraludon!"
"Stunfisk, use Max Quake on Duraludon! Gastrodon, use Muddy Water on Sandaconda!" said Sam. Stunfisk slams into the ground, sending a tremor through it that explodes under Duraludon, dealing super effective damage; while Gastrodon releases a wave of brown water that washes over Sandaconda, dealing enough super effective damage to knock it out.
"Sandanconda is unable to battle. Stunfisk and Gastrdon are the winners." said the official.
"And Raihan loses another Pokemon!" said the announcer. "Will he still be able to pull off a win?!" Raihan returns his Sandaconda to its pokeball.
"You did your best, Sandaconda." said Raihan before putting Sandaconda's pokeball back on his waist."Duraludon, use G-Max Depletion on Gastrodon!" Red swirls of energy surround Duraludon; it releases it onto Gigalith and a vortex of purple energy with blue dragon wings surrounds her and it damages him.
"Stunfisk, one more Max Quake on Duraludon! Gastrodon, use Earth Power on it!" said Sam. Stunfisk hits Duraludon with another tremor while Gastrodon causes the ground under it to erupt, both attacks doing enough combined super effective damage to cause Duraludon's energy to explode, and returning it to its normal size, unconscious.
"Duraludon is unable to battle. Stunfisk and Gastrodon are the winners. The winner of the gym battle is the Gym Challenger, Sam Sharp." said the official.
"She's done it!" said the official. "Sam has defeated Duraludon and has won the gym battle!"
"Yeah!" cheered Lana.
"That was good." said Lola. "Not as good as me, though."
"Sam still won, though." said Luna with a big smile.
Back in Royal Woods, everyone at the Loud house was celebrating Sam's victory.
"That was awesome!" said Simon.
"Knew she could do it." said Lynn Jr.
"They all won their eighth badges!" said Luan.
Back in Hammerlocke Stadium, Raihan was returning his Duraludon to its pokeball.
"You were great, Duraludon." said Raihan. He puts Duraludon's pokeball back on his waist and walks over to Sam who was petting her Pokemon. "You are an incredible trainer, young lady."
"Thanks, dude." said Sam. Raihan takes a Dragon Badge out of his pocket.
"As proof of your victory, I present you with the Dragon Badge." said Raihan as he hands the gym badge, along with some pokedollars, to Sam.
"Rad!" said Sam.
Later, in the lobby, everyone was in a massive group hug as they celebrated all of them earning their Dragon Badges.
"We did it!" cheered Ronnie Anne.
"We all got our eighth badges!" said Clyde.
"We're going to the Rose Cup!" said Lincoln. Just then, Raihan walks over to them.
"Hello, Loud Crowd." said Raihan.
"Hey, dude." said Luna.
"Congratulations on all of you getting all eight badges." said Raihan.
"Thanks." said Lana.
"The Rose Cup will begin one month from now." said Raihan. "I suggest you all spend that time training up your Pokemon."
"We will." said Lincoln.
Later, outside the stadium, the Loud Crowd were communicating with their families back in Royal Woods.
"We are so proud of all of you." said Lynn Sr.
"Thanks, Dad." replied Lincoln.
"So, what are you all going to do now?" asked Rita.
"Raihan suggested we take the time until the Rose Cup training our Pokemon, so that's what we're going to do." replied Lincoln.
"And we know you're all going to work hard." said Lynn Sr. After Lincoln ended the call, the Loud Crowd walked to the Pokemon so Sam can get her Pokemon treated.
The Loud Crowd have earned their eighth badges, and have earned the privilege of competing in the upcoming Rose Cup tournament. What else will they experience as their Galar adventures continue?
That night, Lucy leaves Hammerlocke and goes over to Stow-on-Side for her nightly hanging out with Allister.
"Glad to see you, Lucy." said Allister.
"And I am also pleased to see you." said Lucy. The two sat together and look up at the night sky with their Pokemon.
