Maxiley vs Masked Royal
The next day at the Battle Royal Dome, Maxiley was standing in a tunnel that resembled a Tyranitar's head, looking at the ring where he will be having a full six-on-six battle with the undefeated Battle Royal champion, Masked Royal.
"This is it. This is what I've been training for." said Maxiley. "I don't know if I'll win or not, but it's cool I made it this far." A woman and a camera man walked over to Maxiley.
"Hello, everyone; this is Mana Akamai, coming to you all live at the Battle Royal Dome." said the woman, identified as Mana, to the camera while talking into a microphone. "I'm here right now with the winner of the Masked Royal's tournament, Maxiley. How are you doing, Maxiley?"
"I'm doing fine." replied Maxiley, surprised he was getting interviewed.
"You're about to face the Masked Royal for his championship title." said Mana. "Is there anyone you have to thank for you winning this opportunity?"
"Yes; I would like to thank the Ed trio." replied Maxiley.
"The top three trainers of the Lily of the Valley Conference?" asked Mana.
"Yeah; I spent weeks traveling with them in Alola after I asked them to take me in as a protege, or prot-Ed-ge as they like to call me."
"Incredible." replied Mana. "If you were trained by the Ed trio themselves, then this battle should be quite an interesting one. Best of luck to you, Maxiley."
"I don't need luck, Mana; skill is all I need." said Maxiley. "It's all the Eds needed."
Moments later, a man in a suit with a microphone walks to the center of the ring.
"Ladies and gentlemen, this is a full six-on-six Pokemon Battle, and it is for the Battle Royal Championship." said the man. He then points at the Tyranitar tunnel. "Coming out of the Tyranitar tunnel, the challenger, coming from Konikoni City, the Prot-Ed-ge, Maxiley!" Everyone began cheering as Maxiley walked out of the Tyranitar tunnel.
"Go, Maxiley!" cheered Ed.
"We're rooting for you!" said Eddy.
"You've trained hard for this, Maxiley!" said Edd.
"You can do it!" said Sarah. Maxiley soon steps into the ring.
"And his opponent, from parts unknown, the Battle Royal Champion; Masedk Royal!" said the man. Out of a tunnel that resembled an orange, dragonic head, out came Masked Royal. Everyone roared with applause at the undefeated champion as he approached the ring and enters the ring. Moments later, Maxiley and Masked Royal were standing several feet from each other.
"I want to congratulate you once again for winning my tournament, Maxiley." said Masked Royal.
"Thanks, Masked Royal." replied Maxiley.
"Now let's see how well the Ed trio taught you." said Masked Royal as he pulls out a pokeball. "Go, Lycanroc!" He throws a pokeball and releases a Lycanroc.
"He has a Lycanroc like me." said Jimmy.
"Mask Royal's first Pokemon is a Lycnaroc." said the announcer. "What Pokemon will Maxiley bring out first?" Maxiley pulls out a pokeball.
"Go, Trevenant!" said Maxiley, throwing Treventant's pokeball, and releasing her.
"Maxiley's first Pokemon is a Trevenant." said the announcer.
"Trevenant, use Growth!" said Maxiley. Trevenant begins to grow and her attack and special attack strength increases.
"Lycanroc, use Crunch!" said Masked Royal. Lycanroc leaps at Trevenant and bites her, dealing super effective damage, and weakening her defense.
"Trevenant, use Horn Leech!" said Maxiley. Trevenant lunges at Lycanroc while her horns glowed green and she rams them into Lycanroc, dealing super effective damage to it while healing Trevenant's wounds.
"Lycanroc, Accelerock!" said Masked Royal. Lycanroc becomes surrounded by a white aura and charges at Trevenant; it rams into her, doing more damage due to Trevenant's defense being weakened.
"Trevenant, use Phantom Force!" said Maxiley. A purple portal appeared below Trevenant and she sinks into it before disappearing. Lycanroc was looking around for Trevenant when a purple portal appeared near it. Trevenant emerges from it and she swats Lycanroc, knocking it aside.
"Lycanroc, use Crunch!" said Masked Royal. Lycanroc leaps at Trevenant and bites her, dealing super effective damage, and further weakening her defense.
"Trevenant, use Wood Hammer!" said Maxiley. Trevenant leaps at Lycanroc while her hand glows green and she hits Lycanroc with it, dealing super effective damage; Trevenant receives recoil damage from Wood Hammer.
"Lycanroc, use Stone Edge!" said Masked Royal. Lycanroc stands on its hind legs and slams its front paws onto the ground; large jagged rock spires come up from the ground towards Trevenant and they hit her, dealing damage. Trevenant struggles to stay up.
"Don't give up, Trevenant; use Astonish!" said Maxiley. Trevenant leaps at Lycanroc while making a scary face at it, surprising it, and dealing damage, as well as making Lycanroc flinch. "Now use Horn Leech!" Trevenant rams Lycanroc with her horns, dealing super effective damage while healing some of her wounds; Lycanroc falls to the ground, unconscious.
"Lycanroc is unable to battle. Trevenant wins the match." said the official.
"Maxiley's Trevenant has beaten Mask Royal's Lycanroc; what will Mask Royal do now?" asked the announcer.
"Great work, Maxiley." said Eddy.
"Keep it up!" said Sarah. Masked Royal returns Lycanroc to its pokeball.
"You fought well, Lycanroc." said Masked Royal. He puts Lycanroc's pokeball away and pulls out another one. "Go, Ninetales!" He throws a pokeball and releases a pale blue, canine-like Pokemon with several tails.
"Masked Royal's next Pokemon is a Ninetales." said the announcer.
"She's pretty." said Jimmy. Edd takes out the Rotom Pokedex and points it at Mask Royal's Pokemon.
"Ninetales, the Fox Pokemon, and the evolved form of Vulpix. Some said that deities visited mountains where Ninetales live, so in times long past, no one was allowed to go into those mountains." said the Rotom Pokedex.
"Ninetales, Ice Shard!" said Masked Royal. Ninetales releases shards of ice from its body and they hit Trevenant, dealing super effective damage.
"Trevenant, Destiny Bond!" said Maxiley. Trevenant's eye glowed purple.
"Ninetales, Blizzard!" said Masked Royal. Ninetales releases a blizzard from her mouth and it hits Trevenant, dealing super effective damage, and knocking her out.
"Trevenant is unable to battle. Ninetales wins the match." said the official.
"Masked Royal's Ninetales has beaten Maxiley's Trevenant, now both trainers are down to five Pokemon." said the announcer. A swirling purple light comes out of Trevenant's eye and it hits Ninetales; a purple aura surrounds Ninetales and she collapses onto the ring. "And it looks like Trevenant's Destiny Bond has taken out Ninetales, so now Masked Royal is down to four Pokemon."
"What does Destiny Bond do?" asked Sarah.
"Knocks out the Pokemon that defeated the Pokemon that used the move." replied Edd. Maxiley returns Trevenant to her pokeball.
"You were incredible, Trevenant." said Maxiley. Masked Royal returns Ninetales to its pokeball.
"You did your best, Ninetales." said Masked Royal. Both trainers put their pokeballs away and they each pull out another one. "Braviary, go!" He throws a pokeball and releases a large, birdlike Pokemon.
"Mask Royal's next Pokemon is a Braviary." said the announcer. Edd points the Rotom Pokedex at the Pokemon.
"Braviary, the Valiant Pokemon and the evolved form of Rufflet. Known as "the hero of the skies," this Pokémon is so proud and so brave that it will never retreat, even when it's injured." said the Rotom Pokedex.
"Cool." said Ed.
"Vaporeon, go!" said Maxiley, throwing Vaporeon's pokeball and releasing him.
"Maxiley's next Pokemon is a Vaporeon." said the announcer.
"Vaporeon, use Quick Attack!" said Maxiley. Vaporeon leaps at Braviary with incredible speed and rams into it, knocking it back.
"Braviary, Crush Claw!" said Masked Royal. Braviary flies at Vaporeon while its talons glowed light blue and it slashes Vaporeon with them, damaging him.
"Vaporoen, Aurora Beam!" said Maxiley. Vaporeon fires a mulitcolored beam of energy from his mouth and it hits Braviary, dealing super effective damage, and lowering its attack strength.
"Braviary, use Aerial Ace!" said Masked Royal. Braviary flies at Vaporeon while white streaks surrounds its body and it rams into Vaporeon, damaging him.
"Vaporeon, Water Pulse!" said Maxiley. Vaporeon forms a ball of blue water in front of his mouth; he launches it at Braviary and it hits it, dealing damage; Braviary begins flying around, dizzily.
"Braviary's confused." said Edd.
"Braviary, Brave Bird!" said Masked Royal. Braviary fights through its confusion and flies towards Vaporeon while a fiery blue aura surrounds its body; it rams into Vaporeon, damaging him, and knocking him to the ground; he struggles to get up.
"Use Muddy Water!" said Maxiley. Brown water emerges from below Vaporoen and it washes over Braviary, damaging it.
"Use Crush Claw!" said Masked Royal. Unfortunately, confusion gets the better of Braviary and it claws itself, damaging itself.
"Vapoeron, use Bite!" said Maxiley. Vaporeon leaps at Braviary and bites it, dealing damage, and making it flinch. "Now use Aurora Beam!" Vaporeon fires a beam of multicolored energy at Braviary, hitting it, and dealing super effective damage; Braviary falls to the ground, unconscious.
"Braviary is unable to battle. Vaporeon wins the match." said the official.
"Maxiley's Vaporeon has beaten Mask Royal's Braviary; now Mask Royal has only three Pokemon left." said the announcer.
"You're doing great, Maxiley!" said Eddy.
"Yes; you're doing quite well." said Edd.
"This Maxiley kid's not bad." said a boy in the audience.
"Think he can beat Mask Royal?" asked another boy.
"Who knows?" asked a girl. Back in the ring, Masked Royal returns Braviary to its pokeball.
"You did your best, Braviary." said Masked Royal. He puts Braviary's pokeball away and pulls out another one. "Go, Magnezone!" He throws a pokeball and releases a Magnezone.
"Masked Royal's next Pokemon is a Magnezone." said the announcer.
"He has a Magenzone also." said Edd.
"Vaporeon, Water Pulse!" said Maxiley. Vaporeon forms a blue ball of water in front of his mouth and he launches it at Magenzone, hitting it, and dealing damage.
"Magnezone, use Thunderbolt!" said Masked Royal. Magnezone releases bolts of electricity from its body and they hit Vaporeon, dealing super effective damage, and knocking it out.
"Vaporeon is unable to battle. Magnezone wins the match." said the official.
"Masked Royal's Magenzone has defeated Maxiley's Vaporeon with one move; what will Maxiley do now?" asked the announcer.
"You can do it, Maxiley!" said Ed.
"Don't give up!" said Sarah.
"Keep it up!" said Eddy. Maxiley nods before returning Vaporeon to its pokeball.
"You did great, Vaporeon." said Maxiley. He puts Vaporeon's pokeball away and pulls out another one. "Go, Turtonator!" He throws Turtonator's pokeball and releases him.
"Maxiley's next Pokemon is his Turtonator." said the announcer.
"Turtonator, Iron Defense!" said Maxiley. Turtonator glows white and his body shines, increasing his defense.
"Magnezone, Thunder Wave!" said Masked Royal. Magnezone releases static electricity from its magnets and they hit Turtonator; he begins twitching.
"Turtonator's paralyzed." said Edd.
"Don't give up, Turtonator!" said Maxiley. Turtonator lets out a yell and dispersed the static, ridding himself of paralysis. "Now use Flamethrower!" Turtonator releases a stream of fire from his snout and it hits Magenzone, dealing super effective damage.
"Use Mirror Coat!" said Masked Royal. Magnezone becomes surrounded by a white aura and Turtonator's attack reflects off it and it hits Turtonator, damaging him.
"Turtonator, Overheat!" said Maxiley. Turtonator releases a stream of white fire with flames spirialing around it from his snout, and it hits Magnezone, dealing super effective damage; Turtonator begins to slump.
"What's wrong with Turtonator?" asked Jimmy.
"Overheat weakens the special attack strength of the Pokemon that used it." replied Edd.
"Magnezone, Tri Attack!" said Masked Royal. Magnezone's antenna and magnets glowed white and a white triangle forms in front of Magnezone; it fires the triangle at Turtonator, hitting him, and dealing damage.
"Turtonator, Incinerate!" said Maxiley. Turtonator launches a fireball from his mouth and it hits Magnezone, dealing super effective damage.
"Mangezone, use Tackle!" said Masked Royal. Magnezone flies at Turtonator and rams him, knocking him back.
"Turtonator, Overheat!" said Maxiley. Turtonator releases another white flame from his snout and it hits Magenzone, dealing super effective damage, and knocking it out.
"Magnezone is unable to battle. Turtonator wins the match." said the official.
"Maxiley's Turtonator has beaten Masked Royal's Magnezone, bringiing Masked Royal down to two Pokemon." said the announcer.
"This kid's doing great." said a girl in the audience.
"He was trained by the Ed trio." said a boy in the audience. Back in the ring, Masked Royal returns Magnezone to its pokeball.
"I'm proud of you, Magnezone." said Mask Royal. He puts Magnezone's pokeball away and pulls out another pokeball. "Snorlax, go!" He throws a pokeball and releases a huge, dark blue-green Pokemon with a cream colored face, belly, and feet, and triangular ears on top of its head.
"Masked Royal's next Pokemon is a Snorlax." said the announcer.
"Whoa, that Pokemon's huge." said Eddy. Edd points the Rotom Pokedex and points it at the Pokemon.
"Snorlax, the Sleeping Pokemon and the evolved form of Munchlax. It has no interest in anything other than eating. Even if you climb up on its stomach while it's napping, it doesn't seem to mind at all!" said the Rotom Pokedex.
"Snorlax, High Horsepower!" said Masked Royal. Snorlax becomes surrounded by an orange light; it charges at Turtonator and rams him, dealing super effective damage.
"Turtonator, Body Slam!" said Maxiley. Turtonator jumps up and slams down onto Snorlax, damaging it; Snorlax begins to twitch.
"Now Snorlax is paralyzed." said Edd.
"Snorlax, Body Slam!" said Masked Royal. Snorlax fights through its paralysis and leaps at Turtonator; it slams onto Snorlax, knocking him out.
"Turtonator is unable to battle. Snorlax wins the match." said the official.
"Masked Royal's Snorlax has beaten Maxiley's Turtonator; what will Maxiley bring out next?" asked the announcer. Maxiley returns Turtonator to his pokeball.
"You were great, Turtonator." said Maxiley. He puts Turtonator's pokeball away and pulls out another pokeball. "Xatu, go!" He throws Xatu's pokeball and releases him.
"Maxiley's next Pokemon is a Xatu." said the announcer.
"Xatu, use Leer!" said Maxiley. Xatu looks at Snorlax while his eyes glowed light blue and weakens Snorlax's defense.
"Snorlax, use Crunch!" said Masked Royal. Snorlax fights through its paralysis and leaps at Xatu; Snorlax bites Xatu, dealing super effective damage, and lowering his defense.
"Xatu, Psychic!" said Maxiley. Xatu's eyes glowed purple and Snorlax gets lifted up into the air; it then gets slammed onto the ring.
"Snorlax, Heavy Slam!" said Masked Royal. Unfortunately, paralysis stops Snorlax from attacking.
"Xatu, Peck!" said Maxiley. Xatu flies at Snorlax and jabs it with his beak, damaging it.
"Snorlax, Body Slam!" said Masked Royal. Snorlax fights through its paralysis and jumps up; it comes down towards Xatu.
"Teleport!" said Maxiley. Xatu glows white and disappears, causing Snorlax to miss; Xatu reappears near Snorlax. "Use Psychic!" Xatu's eyes glowed purple and Snorlax gets lifted up, then gets slammed onto the ring, knocking it out.
"Snorlax is unable to battle. Xatu wins the match." said the official.
"Maxiley's Xatu has take down Masked Royal's Snorlax; now Mask Royal has only one Pokemon remaining." said the announcer.
"Maxiley's almost there!" said Eddy.
"Yes, but there's no doubt Masked Royal is saving his best Pokemon for last." said Edd.
"Maxiley can handle it." said Sarah.
"I hope so." said Jimmy. Masked Royal returns Snorlax to its pokeball.
"You did all you could, Snorlax." said Masked Royal. He puts Snorlax's pokeball away. "I must say, Maxiley; you're doing quite well."
"Thanks, Mask Royal." said Maxiley. Mask Royal pulls another pokeball from his waist.
"But let's see if the Eds teaching will help you beat my final Pokemon; Incineroar, go!" said Masked Royal before throwing a pokeball and releasing his Incineroar.
"Masked Royal's final Pokemon is his Incineroar." said the announcer.
"Incineroar, use Darkest Lariat!" said Masked Royal. Incineroar's arms become covered in fire; it spins towards Xatu and hits him, dealing super effective damage, and knocking him out.
"Xatu is unable to battle. Incineroar wins the match." said the official.
"With one move, Masked Royal's Incineroar has beaten Maxiley's Xatu; what will Maxiley do next?" asked the announcer.
"Man, that's rough." said Eddy.
"Maxiley can do it!" said Ed.
"Yeah!" said Sarah. Maxiley returns Xatu to his pokeball.
"You did great, Xatu." said Maxiley. He puts Xatu's pokeball away and pulls out another one. "Crabominable, go!" He throws Crabominable's pokeball and releases him.
"Maxiley's fifth Pokemon is a Crabominable." said the announcer.
"Crabominable, Power-Up Punch!" said Maxiley. Crabominable leaps at Incineroar while an orange aura surrounded his pincer and he hits Incineroar with it, dealing super effective damage; energy surges through Crabominable's body.
"Gotta love that Power-Up Punch." said Eddy, rememebering the times he had his Infernape use it.
"Incineroar, use Flare Blitz!" said Masked Royal. Incineroar becomes surrounded by fire and it flies at Crabominable, ramming into him, and dealing super effective damage; Incineroar flinches in pain from the recoil damage done by Flare Blitz.
"Crabominbale, use Reversal!" said Maxiley. Orange energy bursts out of the ring below Crabominable; he punches Incineroar, dealing super effecitve damage, knocking Incineroar back.
"The power of Reversal depends on how much damage the user of that move received." said Edd. "And the attack strength increase by Power-Up Punch should make Reversal more powerful."
"Incineroar, Cross Chop!" said Masked Royal. Incineroar crosses its arms and runs towards Crabominable.
"Crabominbale, Iron Defense!" said Maxiley. Crabominable glows white and his body shines, increasing his defense; Incineroar hits Crabominable with its arms, dealing super effective damage to Crabominable. "Use Dynamic Punch!" Crabominable's pincer glows white and he punches Incineroar with it, dealing super effective damage.
"Incineroar, Flamethrower!" said Masked Royal. Incineroar releases a stream of fire from its fire belt and it hits Crabominable, knocking him out.
"Crabominable is unable to battle. Incineroar wins the match." said the official.
"Masked Royal's Incineroar has defeated another of Maxiley's Pokemon; now both trainers only have one Pokemon left." said the announcer.
"Man, that Incineroar's tough." said Eddy.
"Don't give up, Maxiley!" said Sarah.
"We believe in you!" said Jimmy. Maxiley returns Crabominable to his pokeball.
"You did your best, Crabominable; you rest now." said Maxiley. He puts Crabominable's pokeball away and pulls another pokeball from his waist. "It's all up to you now; Tyranitar, go!" He throws Tyranitar's pokeball and releases him.
"Maxiley's final Pokemon is a Tyranitar." said the announcer. Tyranitar's Sand Stream ability activates and a sandstorm appears in the arena.
"It all comes down to this." said Edd.
"You can do it, Maxiley!" said Ed.
"Tyranitar, use Screech!" said Maxiley. Tyranitar lets out a loud roar, releasing soundwaves onto Incineroar, weakening its defense.
"Incineroar, use Cross Chop!" said Masked Royal. Incineroar charges at Tyranitar with its arms crossed and he rams them into Tyranitar, dealing super effective damage. Sand from the sandstorm hits Incineroar, dealing damage to it.
"Tyranitar, Stone Edge!" said Maxiley. Tyranitar slams his hands onto the ground and rock pillars shoot up from the ring towards Incineroar and they hit it, dealing super effective damage.
"Incineroar, use Outrage!" said Masked Royal. Incineroar becomes surrounded by a red aura and it claws Tyranitar, damaging him. Sand from the sandstorm hits Incineroar, damaging it; Incineroar becomes surrounded by a fiery aura.
"That looks like Blaze!" said Eddy.
"Tyranitar, use Thunder Fang!" said Maxiley. Tyranitar charges at Incineroar while electricity surrounded his fangs and he bites Incinieroar, dealing damage; static surrounded Incineroar's body and it begins twitching.
"Incineroar's paralyzed." said Edd. Masked Royal holds up one of his arms, revealing a Z-Ring, and puts Firium-Z onto it. Masked Royal begins doing poses and channels energy onto Incineroar; the Z Power symbol appears in front of him.
"Incineroar, Inferno Overdrive!" said Masked Royal. Incineroar holds out his hands and a large ball of fire forms in front of them; Incineroar holds the fireball above its head and it grows bigger. Incineroar throws the fireball at Tyranitar and it hits him, doing moderate damage to him. Sand from the sandstorm hits Incineroar, damaging it. Tyranitar struggles to stay on his feet. Maxiley hold up his own Z-Ring, and puts his Rockium-Z onto it. Maxiley begins doing poses and channels energy onto Tyranitar; the Z Power symbol appears in front of him.
"Tyranitar, Continental Crush!" said Maxiley. Tyranitar summons mulitple rocks out of nowhere and they form into a huge boulder; it falls towards Incineroar and crashes into it, making the boulder explode, and doing super effective damage. When the dust from the attack cleared, Incineroar was standing there, breathing heavily.
"Incineroar, Cross Chop!" said Masked Royal.
"Tyranitar, Dragon Claw!" said Maxiley. Tyranitar's hands become surrounded by a light green aura. He charges at Incineroar while it fights through its paralysis and charges at Tyranitar with its arms crossed; they strike each other, knocking each other back. They both stared at each other until Incineroar collapses. Everyone in the arena looks with shock, including the official until he shakes himself back to his senses.
"Incineroar is unable to battle. Tyranitar wins. The winner...and the new Battle Royal Champion, the Prot-Ed-ge; Maxiley!" said the official.
"IT'S OVER! AFTER A LONG HARD BATTLE, MAXILEY'S TYRANITAR HAS DEFEATED THE MASKED ROYAL'S INCINEROAR AND WINNING THE CHAMPIONSHIP FOR MAXILEY!" shouts the announcer.
"WE DID IT!" cheered Maxiley. Everyone in the arena roared with applause.
"Maxiley won!" said Ed.
"That was intense!" said Eddy.
"It was quite the battle." said Edd.
"Way to go, Maxie!" said Sarah. Masked Royal returns Incineroar to its pokeball.
"You were incredible, Incineroar." said Masked Royal. He puts Incineroar's pokeball away and walks to Maxiley, who was hugging Tyranitar. "You're quite the skilled trainer, Maxiley."
"Thanks, Mask Royal; I'll be sure to train hard to be a worthy champion." replied Maxiley. Masked Royal nods before walking out of the ring and down a tunnel. Later, in the locker room, the Mask Royal looks into a body mirror; he takes off his mask, revealing Professor Kukui.
"All things must come to an end." said Masked Royal, now revealed to be Professor Kukui.
Outside the Battle Royal Dome, the Eds, Sarah, and Jimmy were congratulating Maxiley.
"Well done, Maxiley; you are now the Battle Royal Champion." said Edd.
"You were great." said Ed. Sarah walks to Maxiley and kisses him on the lips; seconds later, she breaks the kiss.
"So, what are you going to do now, champ?" said Eddy.
"I'm going with you guys to the Alola League; just like you guys cheered me on here, I'll cheer you guys on at the Alola League and the Junior's Division." said Maxiley.
"Well, gang, let's get going; the Alola League is calling for us." said Eddy.
"First, I got some calls to make." said Edd.
Maxiley has defeated Masked Royal to become the new Battle Royal Champion. Now the Eds, Sarah, and Jimmy can focus on the Alola League. What awaits them there? Wait and find out.
