Welcome to the Cobalt Coastlands
The Galaxy Team Survey Corps travelled across the Hisui Region to their next destination.
"How much longer until we get there?" asked Lana.
"We're close." said Professor Laventon.
"I really can't wait to see what kind of Pokemon we see in the Cobalt Coastlands." said Lincoln.
"I also eagerly await the opportunity to study the variety of Pokemon that inhabit the area for the pokedex." said Lisa.
"I'll bet Lincoln can't wait to see Irida." said Lynn with a grin, making Lincoln blush a bit, and Akari frown.
"I wonder if we'll run into the Miss Fortune Bandits in the Cobalt Coastlands." said Leni.
"If so, we'll be ready for them!" said Lynn Jr.
"At least Clover will most likely be more interested in Lincoln than the pokedex." said Lori with a grin, making Lincoln's blush intensify.
"Just make sure to keep the pokedex safe if they are there." said Professor Laventon.
"You got it." said Luna.
The group continues to make their way until they reach a large hilltop overlooking a large ocean.
"Look at this view!" said Leni.
"It is, literally, amazing." said Lori.
"Ah, the Cobalt Coastlands!" said Professor Laventon. "A simply lovely corner of Hisui! Sea and sky as far as the eye can see!"
"I can't wait to start exploring this place!" said Lincoln, getting cheers from his Pokemon.
"What kind of Pokemon await us here, I wonder?" asked Professor Laventon. "Water types? Or flying types, perhaps?"
"I cannot wait to start studying the Pokemon we find in this vicinity." said Lisa.
"I want to find some new ghost types." said Lucy from behind everyone, startling them, and making Akari wrap her arms around Lincoln.
"How does she keep doing that?" asked Rei.
"We don't know." said Lori. Lynn looks at Akari with her arms around Lincoln and chuckles.
"I think you can let go of my brother now, Akari." said Lynn, making Lincoln and Akari look at each other with blushes appearing on their faces, and Akari quickly letting go.
"Now I'm sure you all are just as eager to study this area's Pokemon, but let's not forget that you have a mission to accomplish." said Professor Laventon.
"Where is Firespit Island?" asked Lincoln.
"It's across the sea; you'll need help to get there." said Professor Laventon. "I advise you to talk to a fellow named Iscan. He's one of the Diamond Clan wardens and will surely help you find your way."
"Okay." said Lana.
"Let's set up a base camp first, then we can get started." said Rei.
After the camp was set up, the Louds, Rei, and Akari start to make their way towards the beach to get started; but they barely make it several yards from their camp when they see a familiar face nearby.
"Hey, it's Irida." said Lana as she points at the leader of the Pearl Clan who takes a Celestica Flute and starts playing a melody.
"That's beautiful." said Lori.
"Why do I feel a strong connection with music?" asked Luna.
"Maybe when we recover more of our memories, we'll find out." said Luan. After Irida finishes playing the Celestica Flute, she puts it away, and turns to see the Galaxy Team Survey Corps, with her eyes mainly focused on Lincoln.
"Hello." said Irida as she walks over to the white-haired Loud and wraps her arms around his neck, making him blush as Irida looks lovingly into his eyes.
"We heard you playing your flute." said Leni.
"You play beautifully." said Lola. Irida takes her arms off Lincoln and looks back at the beach.
"I do love the flute." said Irida. "It feels as if its tones carry to the very ends of space."
"I hear that." said Luna.
"But I am here, and so are you." said Irida. "So now I'm going to focus everything I have on battling one of you!"
"Why?" asked Lori.
"I wish to see if you all have gotten stronger since we last met." said Irida.
"Who wants to battle her?" asked Lori.
"Let me do it!" said Lynn.
"Very well. Here I come!" said Irida. She whistles and her Glaceon comes out from some bushes and stands in front of her.
"Machoke, let's do this!" said Lynn as she takes a pokeball off her waist and tosses it, releasing her Machoke.
"Why do you keep your Pokemon inside pokeballs when your brother doesn't?" asked Irida.
"He just loves his Pokemon that much." said Lynn, making Irida look over at Lincoln with adoration, making him blush.
"Glaceon, use Quick Attack!" said Irida. Her Glaceon moves at Machoke with incredible speed and slams into his stomach, making him recoil and stagger backwards.
"I'm not gonna lose!" said Lynn. "Machoke, use Rock Smash!" Her Machoke raises his fists up over his head and slams them down onto Glaceon, dealing super effective damage; Glaceon starts to go limp.
"It appears that Glaceon's defense has weakened." said Lisa.
"Machoke, use Mach Punch!" said Lynn. Her Machoke moves at Glaceon quickly and punches it, dealing super effective damage.
"Glaceon, use Ice Beam!" said Irida. Her Glaceon releases a beam of icy energy at Machoke, hitting him; his body becomes covered in frost, and he starts to shiver.
"What's wrong with Machoke?" asked Luan.
"He has the status condition called Frostbite." said Professor Laventon.
"What's that do?" asked Lincoln.
"It drains Pokemon of their stamina bit by bit over time as the battle drags on." said Professor Sycamore.
"We won't let that stop us; Machoke, Mach Punch one more time!" said Lynn. Machoke charges at Glaceon while one of his hands glow light blue and he punches Glaceon, dealing super effective damage; Glaceon falls to the ground, unconscious. "Think I'm strong enough, Irida?"
"Ah, now I feel better!" said Irida. "The world is vast... and I am small within it."
"What do you mean?" asked Lola.
"It's nothing." said Irida. "Thank you for the battle, Lynn."
"No problem." Lynn replied.
"Here's something for your Glaceon, Irida." said Lincoln as he walks over to her and hands her a Revive.
"Thank you." said Irida before using the object to revive her Glaceon; she then wraps her arms around Lincoln's shoulders, and kisses him on the lips, making Lincoln's sisters giggle, while Akari growls.
Meanwhile, somewhere on the Cobalt Coastlands, the Miss Fortune Bandits were wandering around, looking for something.
"Where's that Growlithe?" asked Coin.
"I do not know." said Charm. "Let us keep looking." Just then, Clover growls, surprising his sisters.
"What now?" asked Coin.
"It better not be that Loud boy again." said Charm.
"I got a feeling he's nearby." said Clover with a blush.
"If he is, then that pokedex he and his sisters are working on must be close by also." said Charm.
"If they added more information to it, then it must be more valuable by now." said Coin.
"Let's go look for them." said Charm.
"I get my future husband to myself!" said Clover.
"Fine, just be quiet and let's look for them." said Charm as she and her sisters run off.
Back with the Galaxy Team Survey Corps; Irida just broke the kiss with Lincoln, leaving him with a beet red face.
"What was that for?" asked Lincoln.
"Fair trade for the Revive." said Irida before she winks at Lincoln. "All right, with you, I think I can be frank."
"Why can't you still be Irida?" asked Leni, making everyone look over at her with confusion.
"She means she can be honest, Leni." said Lori.
"Oh." Leni replied.
"Shouldn't she have known that?" asked Rei.
"We don't know." said Luan.
"Anyway, I can't afford to look weak in front of the Diamond Clan's leader or your commander." said Irida. "I sometimes wonder how I've ended up with the burdens I bear."
"Don't worry about that." said Lori.
"Anyway, we have a warden in the coastlands; a lovely woman named Palina." said Irida. "But she tends to no lord or lady, and she will not raise a successor to fill the late lord's empty seat either."
"Why not?" asked Lana.
"I don't know, but people have started to question her worthiness to be a warden at all." said Irida. "But Lina, that is to say, Palina, she's very dear to me, no matter what anyone might say. We were both in the running to become leader of the Pearl Clan. We strove to surpass one another, but... she taught me a great deal, too."
"You must really admire her." said Lincoln.
"Having said all this, I have a favor to ask of you all." said Irida.
"What is it?" asked Luna.
"Please help her raise the Pokemon she looks after into a true heir to his father; the late lord!" said Irida. "With the help of your strength, I think our late lord's heir would grow into a worthy successor. And if he succeeds, it should silence Lina's naysayers. I don't know of anyone I'd trust more to help with this than the person who helped the Pearl Clan by quelling Kleavor's fury!"
"I promise we'll do everything we can to help." said Lincoln.
"Thank you." said Irida before she kisses Lincoln on the cheek, making his sisters giggle. After the kiss was done, Irida looks over to a cliff in the distance. "You'll be able to find Lina up on the headland. Head down the hill behind me and turn left; you should find a slope leading up onto the ridge."
"Got it." said Lynn.
"Okay, everyone; let's get to work." said Lori.
"Yeah!" the rest of the Galaxy Team shouts out.
"Ready, guys?" Lincoln asked his Pokemon partners, getting cheers from them. With that, everyone heads out to begin their survey of the area.
