Chapter 93: Mandarin Island Tournament Round 1
Hello everyone, this chapter will begin the start of the Tournament and I hope you all enjoy!
The chapter begins 1 day after the last chapter ended. It's currently 8:30am in the morning and we see the group starting to wake up. When they do they say good morning to each other and go to the Pokémon Center cafeteria to eat breakfast. As they're eating, they notice Misty eating her food fast as Tracey speaks.
"Hey Misty, don't you want to slow down?" Tracey asks as Misty looks at him and speaks.
"Oh yeah your right sorry about that" Misty says as Ash speaks.
"I'm surprised to see you eat your food so fast Misty" "Yeah usually Ash and I do that" Ash and Leaf say as Misty speaks.
"I guess it's because I'm just looking forward for the tournament to start. This is the first water type tournament I'm entering so I'm excited" Misty says with the group nodding as Ash speaks.
"Well, you're not the only one who's excited as Leaf, and I are looking forward to competing in it too." Ash says with Leaf nodding as Tracey speaks.
"I may not be competing, but I'll make sure to cheer for all of you and I'm also looking forward to seeing the different kinds of water type Pokémon that each trainer has so I can observe them." Tracey says as Misty looks at them smiles and speaks.
"True and the one winning this tournament will be my Pokémon and me right Togepi?" Misty says with Togepi nodding as Ash speaks.
"No way I'm winning this!" Ash says as Leaf speaks.
"Nope it'll be me!" Leaf says as the 3 trainers look at each other then begin to eat their food fast feeling motivated as Tracey looks at them and smiles. After that they then begin heading out of the Pokémon Center, but before they do Ash along with Leaf call Prof. Oak and Daisy to switch out their Pokémon. Once they do that the group then leaves the Pokémon Center and begin heading to where the tournament is taking place. 10 minutes later they make it and see a building. They go inside the building and see just how big it is as Leaf speaks.
"This place is huge!" Leaf says while looking around as Tracey speaks.
"I knew this place was big, but I didn't think that it'd be this big" Tracey says with the group nodding as Ash then looks over at Misty who's looking around and speaks.
"What are you doing Misty?" Ash asks curiously as Misty speaks.
"I'm looking for Lana as she said that she'd meet us at the entrance" Misty responds with Ash nodding as Misty continues to look everyone then hears a voice.
"There you are" The voice says making the group look as they see Lana, Kiawe, Lillie, Kukui, and Burnet. The 4 kids have smiles on their faces as they then go over and greet them. As they're talking Misty notices something on Lana's left wrist and speaks.
"Lana is that a Z Ring?" Misty asks as Lana speaks.
"Yes, it is like Kiawe I also took on a trial, challenged the Kahuna of Akala Island, and got my own Z ring and Z crystal" Lana responds with Misty nodding as she speaks.
"I'm excited to see it" Misty says with Lana nodding as they then hear another voice.
"There you are" The voice says making the group turn around as they see Nemona and Barry. The 2 kids walk over to the group and greet them as Nemona speaks.
"Man, I'm so excited for this tournament I can't wait for it to start!" Nemona says happily as Barry speaks.
"Me too and I'm planning on winning the whole thing" Barry says while having a confident look on his face as Leaf speaks.
"Anyway, we should probably hurry and register before it closes" Leaf says with the group nodding as Kukui speaks.
"Well, this is where we part ways, we'll be watching you all battle in the stands" Kukui says with the group nodding as Ash along with Misty hand Pikachu and Togepi over to Tracey who then begins walking towards the stands with Kukui, Burnet, Kiawe, and Lillie. Once they're gone the 5 kids then go over to the receptionist desk and begin to sign up for the tournament. Once they're done, they then begin walking away as we then see 3 people appear who are wearing cloaks and have hoods that are covering their faces. They're looking at Misty and have smiles on their faces as they begin walking forward too. 10 minutes later we now come to the stands and see Tracey (holding Togepi in his arms and has Pikachu on his shoulder), Kiawe, Lillie, Kukui, and Burnet sitting together. Lillie looks around and speaks.
"There are a lot of people here" Lillie says as Tracey speaks.
"The water tournament on Mandarin Island is very popular in the Orange Islands so many people from different islands come here to watch." Tracey says with Lillie nodding as Kiawe speaks.
"I'm interested in seeing who everyone will be going up against" Kiawe says with the group nodding as Kukui speaks.
"Looks like it's about to start" Kukui says as everyone looks forward and see a man appear. Once he does, he looks at the crowd and speaks.
"Hello everyone! My name's Jake and I'll be this year's host for the Mandarin Island tournament this year" Jake says with the crowd nodding as he continues to speak.
"Now then before I explain the rules let's have the trainers who are competing this year make their appearance!" Jake says as suddenly Ash, Misty, Leaf, Lana, Nemona, Barry, and many other trainers appear. Once they do the crowd lets out a loud cheer as the trainers wave to them Jake continues to speak.
"Now that they've made themselves known I'll begin to explain the rules for this tournament. This tournament will take place over the course of 5 days and have 5 rounds. Rounds 1-2 will consist of triple battles while rounds 3-5 will be 6v6 full battles and you're only allowed to use water type Pokémon." Jake says with the trainers nodding as Jake continues to speak.
"We also have 3 stadiums where multiple battles will take place and each match up will be randomized." Jake says with everyone nodding as Jake continues to speak.
"Now then let me hand over the mic to our guest judge Lorelai of the Elite 4" Jake says as suddenly Lorelai appears and the moment, she does everyone looks at her in awe of her beauty as Lana speaks.
"She looks so pretty" Lana says with the group nodding as Lorelai begins to speak.
"Hello everyone, I'm Lorelai of the Kanto Elite 4 and I'll be one of the guest judges for this year's Mandarin Island tournament. Every year we see many trainers clash with each other showcasing the beauty and power of water type Pokémon and I hope we see that from you all this year as well." Lorelai says with everyone nodding as the trainers begin to clap for her, she continues to speak.
"Now let me introduce the guest judges that are going to be joining me this year" Lorelai says as suddenly Rika, Hassel, and Larry appear. They walk on the stage and stand next to Lorelai as she continues to speak.
"These 3 are Rika, Hassel, and Larry they're elite 4 members from the far Paldea region and are joining me in watching you all battle" Lorelai says as the crowd lets out a loud roar in excitement causing the 3 adults to wave at them as Nemona speaks.
"Yay!" Nemona says happily as back on the stage Lorelai hands the mic back over to Jake who then looks at the participating trainers and begins to speak.
"Now then I believe that it's time for you all to see who you'll be going up against and which stadium you'll battle in, please look at the screen." Jake says as a big screen appears showcasing the images of all the trainers that are competing. They all look at it as Jake speaks.
"Now at the press of this button let the randomizing begin!" Jake says as he presses the button, and the images begin to randomize the images continue to spin around until they stop revealing who each trainer is going up against as Jake speaks.
"As you can see on the screen it showcases who you'll be battling against and which stadium you'll battle in. Please find your opponent and begin heading for the battlefield. Also, if it isn't your turn to battle you can either wait in the stands or in the trainer hall." Jake says with the trainers nodding as they begin to look for their opponents we come over to the group as Misty looks at Ash and speaks.
"Do you know who you're battling Ash?" Misty asks as Ash speaks.
"Yep, I'm going up against someone named Ken and we'll be the first battle in stadium one" Ash responds with Misty nodding as Ash speaks.
"Do you know who your opponent is?" Ash asks as Misty speaks
"Yes, I'm not only the last battle in stadium 3 but also the last battle of the day and my opponent is someone named Mysterious Person 1" Misty responds as the group then look over towards Misty's opponent who's with 2 other cloaked/hooded figures they look at Misty smile then walk away. Once they're gone Ash speaks.
"They seem weird" Ash says with the group nodding as Leaf speaks.
"Well, I'm going to head out my battle is in stadium 2 and it seems like it won't be for a while, so I'll be waiting in the trainer hall" Leaf says with the group nodding as after her Nemona along with Barry leave too heading towards the trainer hall once they're gone Misty looks at Lana and speaks.
"Who're you battling Lana?" Misty asks as when Lana's about to respond they then hear a voice.
"So, I'm battling you again" The voice says making the 3 kids turn as they see Marina they smile and speak.
"It's Marina!" The 3 kids say as the girl smiles Misty then speaks.
"You did make it" Misty says with Marina nodding as she speaks.
"Yep, and I'm here to win the whole thing" Marina says as she then looks at Lana and speaks.
"This time I won't lose as things are different now than they were on the SS. Anne." Marina says as Lana speaks.
"I'm not losing either" Lana responds making Marina smile as she along with Lana leave. Once they're gone Ash and Misty are by themselves as Misty looks at Ash and speaks.
"Well Ash, I wish you good luck in your match" Misty says making Ash look at her as he speaks.
"Thanks, and I wish you luck too" Ash says with Misty nodding as they then leave as well. 10 minutes later we come over to the first stadium, we see that the battlefield is mostly water with a few landing platforms floating on top, and we also see Ash along with Ken on their sides of the battlefield looking at each other. Up in the stands we see Tracey, Kiawe, Lillie, Kukui, and Burnet. They're looking at the screen as Tracey speaks.
"So, Ash's battle is first" Tracey says as Lillie speaks.
"Hopefully he does well" Lillie says as Kiawe speaks.
"I'm confident that he will" Kiawe says with the group nodding as they then turn back to the screen, and we focus in on the battlefield. On the battlefield the 2 boys continue to look at each other having serious looks on their faces as the ref then makes himself known and speaks.
"This is a 3v3 triple battle between Ash and Ken. Both trainers are only allowed to use 3 Pokémon and whoever defeats all of their opponents Pokémon first will be declared the winner!" The ref says with both boys nodding as the ref continues to speak.
"Now will both trainer's please send out your 3 Pokémon!" The ref says as Ken pulls out 3 Pokeball's and speaks.
"Quagsire, Azumarill, and Crawdaunt come out!" Ken says as he throws the balls forward and sends out the 3 mons. Once they appear they all have serious looks on their faces and are waiting to see their opponents as Ash begins to think.
"So, those 3 are the Pokémon he's using, then I'll go with" Ash says to himself as he pulls out 3 Pokeball's and speaks.
"Croconaw, Frogadier, and Kingler I choose you!" Ash says as he throws the 3 balls forward and sends out the 3 mons. Once they appear Frogadier along with Kingler have serious looks on their faces while Croconaw has a smile on his face and begins to dance causing the people in the crowd to chuckle as Jake speaks.
"Now that both trainers have sent out their Pokémon let's see who'll become the victor!" Jake says as Ken speaks.
"Heh it'll obviously be my Pokémon" Ken says while having a confident look on his face as Ash speaks.
"Well see about that. Let's do this guys!" Ash says with the 3-mons nodding as they look at Ken's Pokémon and get into battle stances with the 3-mons doing the same. Ash along with Ken and their Pokémon continue to stare at each other waiting for the battle to start as the ref speaks.
"Now that both trainers have sent out their Pokémon let the battle begin!" The ref says as Ash speaks.
"Let's attack first! Croconaw use Hydro Pump on Azumarill. Frogadier use Cut on Quagsire and Kingler use Liquidation on Crawdaunt!" Ash calls Croconaw fires a big stream of water out of his mouth, Frogadier summons a white blade with his right hand and Kingler's claws turn into water blades. The 2 mons shoot forward as they along with Croconaw's Hydro Pump head for their respective target as Ken calls for his commands.
"Quagsire use Hydro Pump to intercept Croconaw's! Azumarill use Iron Tail to counter Frogadier's Cut and Crawdaunt use Night Slash on Kingler!" Ken calls Quagsire fires its own Hydro Pump that collides with Croconaw's the 2 moves go back and forth for a little bit until they cancel each other out. Azumarill covers its tail in steel energy while Crawdaunt covers its pincers in dark energy, they shoot forward and collide with their respective opponent. When they do Crawdaunt along with Kingler begin pushing each other back and forth trying to see who's stronger. With Azumarill and Frogadier, Azumarill manages to knock away Frogadier's Cut attack and looks at the frog while taking a deep breath as Ken speaks.
"Now use Hydro Pump!" "Frogadier block!" Both trainers' call. Azumarill fires out a big stream of water out of its mouth that goes to hit Frogadier. Frogadier quickly brings up his arms blocking the attack as he's then pushed into the water down below. When that happens Azumarill lands back on a landing platform as Ash speaks.
"Croconaw use Ice Punch!" Ash calls Croconaw jumps forward he covers his right fist in ice and goes to hit Azumarill as Ken speaks.
"Quagsire intercept with Waterfall!" Ken calls Quagsire covers its body in water shoots forward and hits Croconaw's right side sending the mon flying as he then accidentally crashes into Kingler causing them both to slide a few feet away. The 2 mons groan a little in pain as they then look forward and see Crawdaunt charging up an attack as Ken speaks.
"Now Crawdaunt use Hyper Beam!" Ken calls Crawdaunt points its 2 pincers forward and fires two large orange beams that head for the 2 mons as Ash speaks.
"Kingler quick use Protect and Croconaw use Ice Fang on Crawdaunt!" Ash calls Kingler gets in front of Croconaw and summons a protective barrier that blocks the 2 beams and protects both mons. After that Croconaw jumps forward, he covers his teeth in ice and goes to bite Crawdaunt as Ken speaks.
"Crawdaunt counter with Crabhammer!" Ken calls Crawdaunt covers its left pincer in water and collides with Croconaw's mouth. When that happens Crawdaunt notices that its left pincer is starting to freeze so it then covers its right pincer in water and goes to hit Croconaw as Ash calls for a command.
"Croconaw dodge!" Ash calls Croconaw quickly lets go of Crawdaunt's left pincer and jumps away dodging the right one. Suddenly Quagsire appears in front of Croconaw and has its tail ready as Ken speaks.
"Use Aqua Tail!" "Kingler quick use Crabhammer!" Both trainers call. Quagsire covers its tail in water and goes to hit Croconaw. Kingler quickly jumps in the air, covers his left claw in water and collides with Quagsire. Quagsire tries to push Kingler away, but the king crab swings out his claw and knocks Quagsire away making it land on a nearby land platform instead as Ash speaks.
"Great job Kingler!" Ash says with the king crab nodding. Kingler along with Croconaw then see Azumarill falling towards them while showcasing its chest as Ken speaks.
"Now Azumarill use Body Slam!" Ken calls Azumarill goes to hit the 2 mons as Ash calls for a command.
"Frogadier use Aerial Ace!" Ash calls as out of the water appears Frogadier who heads for Azumarill, his right fist glows blue and collides with the mon creating an explosion. Out of the explosion appears the 4 mons, Azumarill lands next to its teammates while Croconaw, Frogadier, and Kingler land on another land platform. The mons look at each other waiting for their trainers to call for their commands as Ash thinks.
"This guy's pretty good" Ash says to himself as he smiles and speaks.
"Let's keep going guys!" Ash says with the 3-mons nodding as Ken speaks.
"We'll attack first this time! Use Hydro Pump!" Ken calls the 3-mons nod and fire a combined Hydro Pump that heads for Ash's Pokémon as Ash calls for his commands.
"Kingler use Protect then Swords Dance and Frogadier, Croconaw run forward!" Ash calls with the 3-mons nodding. Kingler quickly summons a protective barrier and begins to block the combined Hydro Pump while also sharply increasing his attack power. As Kingler's doing that Frogadier along with Croconaw begin heading for Ken's Pokémon as Ken speaks.
"Crawdaunt use Night Slash on Croconaw and Quagsire use Acid Spray on Frogadier!" Ken calls Crawdaunt, covers its pincers in dark energy and shoots forward reaching Croconaw. Quagsire fires a glob of poison out of its mouth that goes to hit Frogadier as Ash speaks.
"Croconaw dodge then use Ice Punch and Frogadier use Cut on the Acid Spray then use Water Pulse!" Ash calls Croconaw sees Crawdaunt's pincers coming and does a back flip dodging the attack. Croconaw then covers his right fist in ice energy shoots forward and punches Crawdaunt hard in the stomach. Crawdaunt coughs in pain as it's then sent sliding a few feet away. With Frogadier he looks at the Acid Spray creates a white blade from his right hand and slashes the move in half. Frogadier then puts his hands together creating a ball of water and launches it at Quagsire hitting the mon and making it slide back a few feet away. Frogadier then sees Azumarill looking at him as Ken speaks.
"Azumarill use Disarming Voice!" "Frogadier use Double Team to dodge then use Bubble Beam!" Both trainers' call. Azumarill lets out a beautiful voice of fairy energy that goes to hit Frogadier, but the Frog quickly creates multiple clones of himself and dodges the attack. Frogadier along with his clones then begin firing multiple streams of bubbles out of their mouths that go to hit Azumarill, Quagsire, and Crawdaunt as Ken speaks.
"Crawdaunt, Quagsire use Protect and Azumarill use Dazzling Gleam!" "Frogadier, Croconaw quick dive in the water to dodge!" Both trainers' call. When the bubbles go to hit Ken's Pokémon Crawdaunt along with Quagsire put up protective barriers while Azumarill shines bright and roars sending out a light of fairy energy everywhere. The light easily manages to destroy the stream of bubbles and Frogadier's clones. The light goes to hit Frogadier along with Croconaw too, but the 2 mons quickly dive into the water and begin to swim away from the light. The light also heads for Kingler who quickly brings up his arms and begins to block the attack as he's then pushed a couple feet away. A few seconds later the light disappears Ken along with his Pokémon look forward having smiles on their faces as Ash speaks.
"Now Kingler use Hyper Beam on Azumarill!" Ash calls Kingler points his big claw towards Azumarill and out of it comes a big orange beam that hits the mon creating an explosion as Ken speaks.
"Azumarill!" Ken calls in concern as out of the smoke appears the mon who's sent flying away and lands on its back groaning in pain. Ken then looks forward and calls for his next commands.
"Crawdaunt, Quagsire use Hydro Pump on Kingler!" 'Kingler dodge!" Both trainers' call. Crawdaunt along with Quagsire fire 2 big streams of water towards Kingler. Kingler quickly jumps in the water and successfully dodges the attack as Ken speaks.
"Crawdaunt, Quagsire go after Kingler!" Ken calls and just when the two mons are about to dive in the water Ash speaks.
"Frogadier use Aerial Ace on Crawdaunt and Croconaw use Ice Punch on Quagsire!" Ash calls as out of the water the two mons appear. Frogadier hits Crawdaunt with Aerial Ace while Croconaw hits Quagsire with Ice Punch. The 2-mons groan in pain as Ken speaks.
"Crawdaunt use Crabhammer on Frogadier and Quagsire use Aqua Tail on Croconaw!" "Frogadier, Croconaw dodge!" Both trainers' call. Crawdaunt along with Quagsire go to hit their targets but the 2 mons manage to dodge the attacks. Suddenly Kingler appears in front of Crawdaunt and has his arms in an X shape as Ash speaks.
"Kingler use X Scissor then Liquidation!" Ash calls Kingler's arms glow in bug energy as he hits Crawdaunt causing super effective damage. Kingler then turns his claws into water blades and slashes Crawdaunt causing more damage and making the mon fall on its right side. Everyone looks at Crawdaunt and see that it's unable to battle as the ref speaks.
"Crawdaunt's unable to battle Kingler's the winner!" The ref says as Ash speaks.
"That's one down. Great job Kingler!" Ash says with the king crab nodding as Ken returns Crawdaunt back to its Pokeball and speaks.
"Why you! Azumarill use Waterfall on Kingler!" Ken calls Azumarill covers its body in water and heads for Kingler as Ash speaks.
"Frogadier intercept Azumarill with Water Pulse and Kingler back away!" Ash calls when Azumarill's about to hit Kingler, Frogadier appears he creates a ball of water in his right hand and collides with Azumarill creating an explosion. This allows for Kingler to back away as he lands on a nearby land platform and out of the smoke appears Frogadier and Azumarill who slide a few feet away from each other. The two mons begin glaring at each other as Ken calls for his next command.
"Azumarill use Body Slam!" "Frogadier jump in the air to dodge!" Both trainers' call. Azumarill jumps forward and goes to land on Frogadier, but the frog quickly jumps in the air and dodges Azumarill's attack as the mon hits the land platform instead. While Frogadier's in the air he looks towards his right and sees Quagsire building up something as Ken speaks.
"Use Focus Blast!" Ken calls and when Quagsire's about to fire the move Ash calls for a command.
"Croconaw use Crunch!" Ash calls Croconaw, jumps towards Quagsire and goes to bite the mon as Ken speaks.
Quagsire dodge then fire the Focus Blast at Croconaw!" Ken calls Quagsire, quickly jumps back and avoids Croconaw's attack. Once Quagsire lands it creates a large ball of fighting energy and sends it towards Croconaw as Ash speaks.
"Croconaw knock it back with Aqua Tail!" Ash calls Croconaw, covers his tail in water spins around and collides with the blast. The move begins to push Croconaw back but the croc roars increasing the power of his tail and successfully knocks the move back at Quagsire which hits the mon in the face as Ken speaks.
"Quagsire!" Ken calls in worry as when the smoke clears Quagsire's groaning in pain as it then sees Croconaw taking a deep breath as Ash speaks.
"Now Croconaw use Hydro Pump!" Ash calls Croconaw fires a large stream of water that goes to hit Quagsire as Ken speaks.
"Dodge Quagsire!" "Frogadier throw your Frubbles!" Both trainers call when Quagsire's about to dodge Frogadier quickly throws two white Frubbles from his scarf that hits Quagsire's eyes and blinds the mon. As Quagsire's trying to get the Frubbles off its eyes it then gets hit by the Hydro Pump that sends it flying making it go pass Ken and hit the wall behind him. Everyone looks over at Quagsire and see it fall on the ground not wanting to battle anymore as the ref speaks.
"Quagsire's unable to battle Croconaw's the winner!" The ref says making Ash along with his Pokémon happy as they cheer. Ken returns Quagsire back to its Pokeball as he then looks forward and speaks.
"Azumarill use Hydro Pump on Frogadier!" Ken calls Azumarill fires a large stream of water that goes to hit Frogadier as Ash speaks.
"Block Frogadier!" Ash calls Frogadier, quickly brings up his arms and blocks the attack. Frogadier's sent flying and is about to hit a landing platform. But Kingler appears and manages to safely catch the mon. Frogadier looks at Kingler and thanks him with the king crab nodding as Ken speaks.
"Now Azumarill use Surf!" Ken calls when Azumarill's about to use the move Ash speaks.
"Croconaw use Ice Punch!" Ash calls Croconaw appears on Azumarill's left side and punches the mon hard across the face with his right fist. Azumarill groans in pain then looks at Croconaw as Ken speaks.
"Hit it back with Iron Tail!" Ken calls Azumarill covers its tail in steel energy spins around and slaps Croconaw hard across the face and sends the croc flying as he then lands on a landing platform a few feet away. Azumarill has a smile on its face as Ken speaks.
"Azumarill in front of you!" Ken calls as Azumarill looks forward and sees Frogadier on Kingler's big claw Ash speaks.
"Kingler throw Frogadier towards Azumarill and Frogadier when you get close use Cut!" Ash calls with both mons nodding. Kingler pulls back his left arm and throws Frogadier forward towards Azumarill. Frogadier's going fast as Ken speaks.
"Azumarill quick use Hydro Pump!" Ken calls Azumarill quickly fires a big stream of water that heads for Frogadier as Ash speaks.
"Kingler counter with your Hydro Pump!" Ash calls Kingler fires out a big stream of water out of his mouth that collides with Azumarill's Hydro Pump and creates an explosion. Out of the explosion appears Frogadier, he's still heading for Azumarill and is getting closer as Ken speaks.
"Azumarill dodge!" "Croconaw quick use Ice Fang!" Both trainers' call. Before Azumarill can dodge Croconaw appears on Azumarill's right side and bites the mon. Azumarill groans in pain as it then sees that half of its body is now frozen in ice. Ken along with Azumarill have surprised looks on their faces as Ash speaks.
"Do it now Frogadier!" "Azumarill look out!" Both trainers' call. Azumarill tries to dodge but can't because of the ice, Azumarill looks forward and sees Frogadier getting closer. Once Frogadier gets close enough he summons a white blade from his right hand lets out a "Frog!" and slashes Azumarill with the move causing damage to the mon. Frogadier lands behind Azumarill, everyone looks at Azumarill they see the mon groaning in pain as a couple seconds later it then falls on its stomach knocked out as the ref makes the call.
"Azumarill's unable to battle Frogadier's the winner! Seeing as contestant Ken has no more Pokémon left this means that contestant Ash is the winner and will move onto the next round!" The ref says making Ash smile as he speaks.
"Alright!" Ash cheers along with the 3 mons as Jake speaks.
"There you have it everyone Ash Ketchum is the first one to win his battle and did it without losing a single Pokémon!" Jake says as the crowd cheer/clap for Ash and his Pokémon. On the battlefield Kingler, Croconaw, and Frogadier jump towards Ash tackling him to the ground and give him a big hug which makes Ash laugh. Over where Lorelai, Larry, Rika, and Hassel are they clap for Ash and are impressed by his skill. Back on the battlefield Ash along with his Pokémon continue to celebrate but then stop once Ken appears. Ash stands back up he looks at Ken as the boy speaks.
"Well, it's not the outcome I wanted but it was a good battle thank you" Ken says as he holds out his right-hand Ash speaks.
"Thanks, and we enjoyed it too" Ash says with his Pokémon agreeing with him. After that Ash and Ken then shake hands making the crowd clap for them. The 2 boys then let go as they then leave the battlefield. We now head into the trainer hall and see many trainers there who watched the battle as Leaf speaks.
"Nice Ash won!" Leaf says happily as Nemona speaks.
"I knew he could do it!" Nemona says as Barry speaks.
"Yeah, because if he didn't win, I would've had to fine him" Barry says as Lana speaks.
"Now that Ash's won, we can't fall behind" Lana says with Misty agreeing with her. Misty then feels someone looking at her as she looks behind and sees the 3 mysterious people from earlier staring at her as Lana speaks.
"Do you know those 3 Misty?" Lana asks as Misty speaks.
"I don't but for some reason I feel like I do" Misty responds with Lana nodding. Once that's over Ash makes it back to the group who congratulate him on his battle and Ash tells his friends good luck. We now skip 20 minutes during this time many battles happen in all 3 stadiums. Nemona, Barry, and Leaf won their battles easily and didn't lose a single Pokémon like Ash. We now head over to stadium 2 and see Lana and Marina. The 2 girls are on their sides of the battlefield and are looking at each other. Up in the stands Tracey speaks.
"Now it's Lana's turn" Tracey says as Kiawe speaks.
"Lana's been training hard for this and I'm confident that she'll win" Kiawe says with Kukui agreeing with him as Lillie and Burnet speak.
"Go! Lana!" The 2 of them say as they continue to cheer for the girl. Back on the battlefield the ref has explained the rules to them and tells them to bring out their 3 Pokémon. Marina pulls out 3 Pokeball's and speaks.
"Golduck, Tentacruel, and Masquerain come out!" Marina says as she throws the 3 balls forward and sends out the 3 mons. Once they appear they've serious looks on their faces as Lana speaks.
"So, those are the Pokémon she's using and her Psyduck evolved. I'll go with these 3." Lana says while holding 3 Pokeball's in her hands as she throws them forward and speaks.
"Araquanid, Toxapex, and Primarina come out!" Lana says as when the 3 balls open the 3 mons appear and look at Marina's Pokémon. At the trainer hall we see Ash, Misty, Leaf, Nemona, Barry, along with the other trainers looking at the screen as Misty speaks.
"Looks like Lana's Popplio evolved into a Primarina" Misty says as Leaf speaks.
"Her Araquanid looks like it's gotten stronger" Leaf says as Ash speaks.
"But who's the other Pokémon?" Ash questions as Misty speaks.
"That Pokémon is called Toxapex and it's the evolved form of Mareanie" Misty answers with Ash nodding as he along with Leaf pull out their Pokedex's to scan the mon.
"Toxapex the Brutal Star Pokémon it's a Poison/Water type and is the fully evolved form of Mareanie. When threatened, this Pokémon sends toxic spikes flying at its enemies. Ones that come close get mown down by the claws on its feet." The Pokedex's say as the group look back at the screen. Back on the battlefield Lana looks at her Pokémon and speaks.
"Okay guys let's do this!" Lana says with Primarina and Araquanid nodding as they get into battle stances while Toxapex looks forward and lets out a yawn as Marina speaks.
"Get ready!" Marina says with her Pokémon nodding as they also get into battle stances. The 6 mons along with their trainers look at each other waiting for the battle to start as the ref speaks.
"Now that both trainers have sent out their Pokémon let the battle begin!" The ref says as Marina speaks.
"Here we come Lana! Masquerain use Air Slash and Golduck use Psychic on them!" Marina calls Masquerain's wings glow blue and begins firing multiple slashes of wind. Golduck's eyes glow sending out waves of psychic energy that connect with the slashes of wind and makes them go faster as they go to hit Lana's Pokémon Lana speaks.
"Araquanid use Liquidation, Toxapex use Protect, and Primarina dive into the water!" Lana calls Araquanid's front legs turn into water blades as it begins to easily destroy the slashes of wind, Toxapex summons a barrier protecting itself, Primarina dives into the water and avoids the attack. Primarina's swimming forward as Lana speaks.
"Primarina use Aqua Jet on Masquerain!" Lana calls Primarina covers its body in water and heads for Masquerain as Marina speaks.
"Golduck counter with your Aqua Jet then use Psychic to hold Primarina in place!" Marina calls Golduck covers its body in water shoots forward and collides with Primarina. The two mons push each other back and forth for a little while until they then break away from each other. Once they do Golduck's eyes glow as it fires out multiple waves of psychic energy that manage to grab Primarina and hold it in place. Primarina's groaning in pain as it then looks forward and sees Masquerain and Tentacruel heading for it as Marina speaks.
"Now Masquerain use Giga Drain and Tentacruel use Poison Jab!" Marina calls Masquerain's teeth glow in green energy while Tentacruel covers its tentacles in poison. The 2-mons head for Primarina and are about to hit it as Lana speaks.
"Araquanid throw Toxapex forward and Toxapex use Knock Off then Sludge Bomb!" Lana calls Araquanid, picks up Toxapex and throws the mon forward. Toxapex covers its legs in dark energy as it reaches to where Primarina is and manages to easily knock away Masquerain along with Tentacruel's tentacles. Toxapex then looks at the 2 mons, takes a deep breath and begins firing multiple bombs of sludge at them as Marina speaks.
"Masquerain use Protect and Tentacruel knock the Sludge Bomb's away with your tentacles!" Marina calls Masquerain summons a protective barrier and begins to block the attack while Tentacruel easily knocks the Sludge Bomb's away. We come over to Golduck who's been building up psychic energy as Marina speaks.
"Golduck use Psychic on Toxapex then throw it at Primarina!" Marina calls when Golduck fires the waves of psychic energy Lana speaks.
"Araquanid use Lunge!" Lana calls Araquanid glows in green bug energy shoots forward destroys the waves of psychic energy (Toxapex along with Primarina land on a nearby land platform) and hits Golduck. Golduck coughs in pain as it's then sent flying and crashes on a land platform a few feet away Marina speaks.
"Golduck!" Marina calls in worry as Golduck stands back up, the mon can feel that its attack power has decreased. The mon looks at Marina telling her that it can still battle making the girl happy as she then looks forward and calls for a command.
"Tentacruel use Sludge Bomb on Araquanid!" "Araquanid use Liquidation to blow them away!" Both trainers' call. Tentacruel takes a deep breath and begins firing multiple bombs of sludge towards Araquanid. Araquanid quickly turns its front legs into water blades and begins to easily deflect the bombs of sludge away. After Araquanid gets rid of the final Sludge Bomb Marina speaks.
"Now Tentacruel use Icy Wind!" Marina calls Tentacruel lets out a cold wind that hits Araquanid causing damage and also lowers its speed. Araquanid then looks at the sky and sees Masquerain above it as Marina speaks.
"Now Masquerain use Hurricane and Golduck use Psychic to keep Araquanid in place!" Marina calls Masquerain flaps its wings fast creating a large Hurricane that heads for Araquanid while Golduck fires the waves of psychic energy that connects with Araquanid and holds it in place. Now that Araquanid can't go anywhere the mon looks at the incoming Hurricane and isn't concerned as Lana speaks.
"Primarina use Hyper Voice!" Lana calls Primarina lets out a loud voice that hurts the ears of Marina's Pokémon and even Marina. As the loud voice continues Masquerain stops flapping its wings making the Hurricane disappear, Golduck can't focus as it then stops using psychic on Araquanid freeing the mon. Now that Araquanid is free Lana calls for her next command.
"Toxapex use Pin Missile!" Lana calls as Toxapex begins firing multiple white pin like missiles at Marina's Pokémon as Marina speaks.
"Dodge!" Marina calls Golduck along with Tentacruel manage to dodge in time but Masquerain's unable to as it then gets hit by multiple white missiles creating multiple explosions and making the mon spin out of control as Lana speaks.
"Now Araquanid jump towards Masquerain and use Liquidation!" Tentacruel stop it with your tentacles!" "Toxapex use Knock Off!" Both trainers' call. When Araquanid's about to jump towards Masquerain Tentacruel shoots out its tentacles in hopes of stopping the mon. But Toxapex appears it covers its legs in dark energy manages to easily knock away Tentacruel's tentacles which allows for Araquanid to jump towards Masquerain as Marina speaks.
"Golduck use Psychic!" "Primarina use Aqua Jet!" Both trainers' call. When Golduck's about to use Psychic Primarina covers its body in water shoots forward and hits Golduck sending the mon sliding back a few feet away. Up in the air Araquanid's getting closer to Masquerain as Marina speaks.
"Masquerain use Double Team to dodge!" "Too late do it Araquanid!" Both trainers call Masquerain's unable to dodge in time as Araquanid covers its two front feet in water turning them into water blades and slashes Masquerain. Masquerain groans in pain as it then falls in the water while Araquanid lands on a landing platform. A couple seconds later Masquerain resurfaces to the top of the water and is knocked out as the ref speaks.
"Masquerain's unable to battle Araquanid's the winner!" The ref says making Lana happy as she speaks.
"Great job Araquanid!" Lana says with the water spider nodding. Marina returns Masquerain back to its Pokeball and tells the mon thank you. She then looks forward and speaks.
"Don't get confident just because you took down one of my Pokémon! Tentacruel use Poison Jab on Toxapex!" Marina calls Tentacruel, covers its tentacles in poison and goes to hit Toxapex as Lana speaks.
"Use Blizzard!" Lana calls Toxapex lets out a loud yawn as a big Blizzard appears and hits Tentacruel. The mon groans in pain as it then becomes frozen. Marina has a surprised look on her face as Lana speaks.
"Now Toxapex use Gunk Shot!" Lana calls "Tentacruel get out of there!" Marina calls but Tentacruel's unable to as Toxapex summons a big purple trash can and throws it at the frozen squid. Once the attack connects there's an explosion and when the explosion clears everyone can see Tentacruel laying on its back knocked out as the ref makes the call.
"Tentacruel's unable to battle Toxapex's the winner!" The ref calls as Lana speaks.
"Way to go Toxapex!" Lana says happily Toxapex nods as it then lets out a yawn and goes asleep. Lana isn't surprised as we then go back to the trainer hall Leaf speaks.
"Looks like Lana's Toxapex hasn't changed much" Leaf says with Ash and Misty nodding. Meanwhile, back to the battlefield Marina returns Tentacruel back to its Pokeball and tells the mon thank you. Marina then looks at Lana and speaks.
"I hate to say this, but you have really gotten a lot stronger since we last battled on the SS. Anne" Marina says as Lana speaks.
"Thank you ever since leaving the SS. Anne I've been training every day to improve myself along with my Pokémon." Lana responds with Marina nodding as she speaks.
"Well, you're not the only one who's grown stronger since then and I'll show you by winning this battle!" Marina says while having a serious look on her face as she calls for a command.
"Golduck use Hyper Beam!" Marina calls the jewel on Golduck's head glows as it fires a big orange beam that hits Primarina creating an explosion as Lana speaks.
"Primarina!" Lana calls in worry as when the smoke clears Primarina's groaning in pain but can still battle as Marina speaks.
"Okay Golduck let's finish off Primarina use Aqua Jet!" Marina calls Golduck, covers its body in water shoots forward and goes to hit Primarina as Lana speaks.
"Primarina dive into the water!" Lana calls Primarina quickly dives into the water and dodges Golduck's attack as Lana speaks.
"It's time we put an end to this battle and this next move will help" Lana says as she lifts up her left arm showcasing her Z ring as Marina speaks.
"Is that a Z ring?!" Marina asks with Lana nodding as she then looks forward and speaks.
"Let's do this Primarina!" Lana says with Primarina nodding as Lana crosses her arms. Once she does that her Z crystal glows as she then begins to speak.
"Reach Beyond the Horizon and go pass the crashing waves!" Lana says as she along with Primarina begin to do synchronized movements. Lana's body is covered in a blue aura as she then waves her arms, and the aura goes into Primarina. Primarina can feel power welling up inside it as Lana speaks.
"Now! Use Hydro Vortex!" Lana calls Primarina roars as it then begins to swim fast creating a large underwater tornado that begins to spin the landing platform that Golduck's standing on fast. Golduck tries its best to stay on top of the platform but a few seconds later it then falls into the vortex and begins being spun around inside it. The vortex continues to spin Golduck around and around until Golduck is sent out of it and is launched high into the air. Golduck then comes crashing back down on a landing platform creating a dust cloud as Primarina stops its Z move appears out of the water getting on a landing platform too and looks forward waiting to see the results. Everyone continues to look as when the dust clears, they can see Golduck laying on its back and is knocked out. Marina has a surprised look on her face as the ref makes the call.
"Golduck is unable to battle Primarina is the winner! Seeing as contestant Marina has no more Pokémon left contestant Lana is the winner and will move onto the next round!" The ref says making Lana happy as she speaks.
"We did it!" Lana says happily while Primarina and Araquanid smile. Toxapex is sleeping but it smiles as well. The crowd cheer/clap for Lana and her Pokémon as Lillie speaks.
"Lana did it!" Lillie says happily with the group nodding as we then go over to where Lorelai, Rika, Larry, and Hassel are as Rika speaks.
"She's pretty good" Rika says as Lorelai speaks.
"Yes, I agree" Lorelai says as back on the battlefield we see Lana celebrating with her Pokémon, on the other side of the battlefield Marina's sad that she lost but smiles as she returns Golduck back to its Pokeball and begins walking towards Lana. Once Marina gets close enough, she looks at Lana and speaks.
"It's frustrating that I lost to you again but I'm not angry as this will just help me improve and the next time, we meet I'll be the winner" Marina says while having a smile on her face and makes Lana smile too as they then shake hands. After that we head inside the trainer hall, we see the group looking at the screen as Ash speaks.
"Nice Lana won her battle" Ash says as Misty speaks.
"She's really grown strong" Misty says as Leaf speaks.
"Yeah, and that Z move was cool!" Leaf says as Nemona speaks.
"I know right! I hope I get to go against it" Nemona says while having an excited look on her face as Barry speaks.
"Well, if you ask me if I went against Lana that Z move would've been no problem" Barry says while having a confident look on his face as Ash looks at him and speaks.
"But no one is asking you" Ash says. After that Lana along with Marina come back to the trainer hall where the group tell them good job on their battle making both girls smile. 20 minutes go by, and more battles happen. During this time 2 of the 3 mysterious people that were looking at Misty battled as well and when they were battling the Pokémon, they were using felt familiar to Misty, but she didn't know why. We now come to the present time, and it is finally time for Misty's battle. Misty looks at the group and speaks.
"It's finally my turn" Misty says with the group nodding as Ash speaks.
"You got this Misty" Ash says as Leaf speaks.
"You can do it!" Leaf says as Lana speaks.
"I just know that you'll win" Lana says with Nemona and Barry saying the same thing. Misty looks at them smiles and speaks.
"Thanks guys and I'm heading out now" Misty says with the group nodding as she then begins walking towards the battlefield. A few minutes later we come over to the 3rd stadium and see Misty along with her opponent Mysterious Person 1 on their sides of the battlefield. They continue to look at each other as Jake speaks.
"Here it is everyone it's the final battle of the day who's going to win between Misty and Mysterious Person 1?!" Jake says as we then go inside the trainer hall and see the group looking at the screen as Lana speaks.
"It's finally time for Misty's battle" Lana says as Leaf speaks.
"Hopefully she does well" Leaf says as Ash speaks.
"I'm sure she will" Ash says with the group nodding as they continue to look at the screen we head over to the crowd where Tracey, Kiawe, Kukui, Burnet, and Lillie are. They look at the battlefield while Pikachu along with Togepi begin to cheer on Misty. Back on the battlefield the ref makes himself known he looks at both contestants and speaks.
"This is a 3v3 Triple Battle between contestants Misty and Mysterious Person 1. Both trainers are only allowed to use 3 Pokémon and whoever knocks out all of their opponents Pokémon first will be declared the winner do both trainers understand?" The ref asks with the 2 trainers nodding as the ref continues to speak.
"Now will both trainers please send out your 3 Pokémon!" The ref says as Misty pulls out 3 Pokeball's and speaks.
"Here I come! Starmie, Dewgong, and Drizzile come out!" Misty says as she throws the 3 balls forward and sends out the mons. When they appear, they look forward having serious looks on their faces as they wait for their opponents. On the other side of the battlefield the Mysterious person 1 smiles pulls out 3 Pokeball's and throws them forward. When the mons appear, they consists of a Lanturn, Gorebyss, and Huntail. The 3 mons look at Misty's Pokémon with Misty's Pokémon looking at them. We now head back inside the trainer hall as Ash speaks.
"So, that person has a Lanturn but who're those other 2?" Ash questions as he along with Leaf pull out their Pokedex's to scan them.
"Gorebyss the South Sea Pokémon and a pure water type. Gorebyss lives in the southern seas at extreme depths. Its body is built to withstand the enormous pressure of water at incredible depths. Because of this, this Pokémon's body is unharmed by ordinary attacks." "Huntail the Deep Sea Pokémon and a pure water type. Huntail's presence went unnoticed by people for a long time because it lives at extreme depths in the sea. This Pokémon's eyes can see clearly even in the murky dark depths of the ocean." The Pokedex's say as Ash and Leaf continue to look at the screen. Back on the battlefield Misty looks at her opponent's Pokémon and begins to think.
"These 3 Pokémon I've seen them before but where?" Misty questions as she continues to think she realizes something looks forward and speaks.
"Wait are you Daisy?" Misty asks as Mysterious Person 1 smiles and speaks.
"Well, it sure took you long enough" The person says as they take off their cloak revealing that it's Misty's sister Daisy. Misty has a surprised look on her face as she speaks.
"Daisy?! But if you're here that means" As Misty's about to finish Daisy speaks.
"Yep, Lily and Violet are here too in fact they're right over there" Daisy says as she points over to the stands where the other 2 mysterious people are sitting. They also take off their cloaks revealing themselves to be Lily and Violet. The 2 girls have smiles on their faces and wave towards Misty who has a surprised look on her face as she then looks at Daisy and speaks.
"Why are you 3 here?" Misty asks, making Daisy confused as she speaks.
"What do you mean by "why are we here"? it should be like obvious as we're competing in this tournament" Daisy responds as Misty speaks.
"So yesterday when I called the gym and spoke to one of the gym trainers who said that you 3 were on vacation was that just a cover up so that I wouldn't know that you 3 would be competing?" Misty asks as Daisy speaks.
"Well, the gym trainer is right about the fact that we're on vacation as we did need to take a break from the gym. And when we were deciding on where to go. We remembered you mentioning entering the Mandarin Island tournament, so we decided to come here to compete and win." Daisy responds with Misty nodding as she speaks.
"Man, this is a surprise and why were you all dressed in a cloak and calling yourselves Mysterious people?" Misty asks as Daisy speaks.
"Oh, that was Lily's idea as she thought that it would be funny to see your reaction once we revealed ourselves and she was right it was funny hehehe" Daisy says while chuckling a little bit as Misty then looks over at Lily who's chuckling as well. Misty then lets out a sigh and speaks.
"You 3 always do the craziest things but since you're competing, I'm not going to let you being here stop me from winning!" Misty states while having a serious look on her face as Daisy speaks.
"I was so hoping you'd say that Misty because Lily, Violet, and I are here to win as well, and we don't want you holding back on us." Daisy says with Misty nodding as she speaks.
"Don't worry I'm not going to hold anything back as you 3 competing here has given not just me but my Pokémon more reason to win!" Misty states with her 3-mons agreeing with her as Daisy smiles. We now come back to the group in the trainer hall. They also have surprised looks on their faces as Leaf speaks.
"Well, I didn't think that those 3 mysterious people were Misty's sisters, but I guess it makes since as they kept looking at Misty" Leaf says with the group agreeing with her as Lana speaks.
"Will Misty be able to battle against her own sister?" Lana asks as Ash speaks.
"Yeah, she will as even though she's surprised this won't stop her and this will also give her a chance to show her sisters how much she's grown." Ash says with the group nodding as they continue to look at the screen we come back to the battlefield. Daisy looks at Misty and sees that she's serious as Daisy speaks.
"I like the fire in your eyes little sister I can tell that you're serious about winning this battle, but the winners will be me and my Pokémon!" Daisy states while having a serious expression on her face as her Pokémon along with Misty's get into battle stances the ref speaks.
"Now that both trainers have sent out their Pokémon let the battle begin!" The ref says as Misty speaks.
"Starmie use Thunderbolt on Gorebyss!" Misty calls Starmie sparks its body and fires an electric bolt that heads for Gorebyss as Daisy speaks.
"Oh, that's like so predictable. Lanturn counter with your Thunderbolt!" Daisy says Lanturn quickly sparks its body and fires an electric bolt that collides with Starmie's creating an explosion as Misty speaks.
"Dewgong use Ice Beam on Lanturn!" Misty calls Dewgong fires an icy beam that heads for Lanturn as Daisy speaks.
"Huntail use Crunch then use Waterfall!" Daisy calls Huntail appears in front of the icy beam covers its teeth in dark energy and bites down on the beam easily destroying it. Huntail then covers its body in water and shoots forward heading for Dewgong as Misty speaks.
"Drizzile push it back with Hydro Pump!" Misty calls Drizzile, takes a deep breath and fires out a big stream of water that collides with Huntail and manages to push the mon back. Once Drizzile does that suddenly Gorebyss appears in front of him as Daisy speaks.
"Use Waterfall!" Drizzile dodge!" Both trainers' call. Drizzile's unable to dodge in time as Gorebyss covers its body in water and hits Drizzile. Drizzile coughs in pain as he's then sent flying a few feet away and crashes into the water as Misty speaks.
"Why you! Starmie use Thunderbolt on Gorebyss!" Misty calls Starmie fires the electric bolt at Gorebyss as Daisy speaks.
"Dodge Gorebyss then go after Drizzile and use Dive!" Daisy calls Gorebyss sees the electric bolt heading for it and does a backflip easily dodging the attack as it then dives into the water. Now that Gorebyss's in the water it begins swimming towards Drizzile as Misty speaks.
"Dewgong use Aqua Jet to stop Gorebyss!" "Huntail use your Aqua Jet to intercept Dewgong!" Both trainers call Dewgong covers his body in water and begins to swim after Gorebyss. As Dewgong's getting closer he gets blindsided by Huntail who hits him on his right side, Dewgong's sent a few feet away as he then looks at Huntail with Huntail looking at him. Back to Gorebyss it's getting closer to Drizzile as Misty speaks.
"Starmie use Psychic to stop Gorebyss!" Misty calls Starmie quickly fires the psychic waves that begin heading for Gorebyss as Daisy speaks.
"That won't work little sister. Lanturn use Thunderbolt!" Daisy calls Lanturn fires an electric bolt that heads for Starmie as Misty speaks.
"Dodge Starmie!" Misty calls Starmie, stops using its Psychic attack and manages to dodge the electric bolt. Starmie looks over at Lanturn as Daisy speaks.
"Okay Gorebyss keep heading for Drizzile!" Daisy calls Gorebyss continues swimming towards Drizzile and is about to hit the mon as Misty speaks.
"Drizzile quick use Aqua Jet!" Misty calls Drizzile covers his body in water and heads for Gorebyss. When the 2 mons are about to collide, Daisy smiles and speaks.
"Dive down Gorebyss!" Daisy calls Gorebyss nods as it quickly dives down at last second dodging Drizzile's attack and making the mon miss. Drizzile has a surprised look on his face as Daisy speaks.
"Now hit him!" Daisy calls before Misty can tell Drizzile to dodge Gorebyss shoots upwards and hits Drizzile hard in the stomach. A few seconds later the 2 mons appear out of the water Drizzile's sent flying high into the air with Gorebyss going after him as Misty speaks.
"Starmie use Rapid Spin!" Misty calls Starmie begins to spin towards Gorebyss as Daisy speaks.
"Lanturn Charge Beam!" Daisy calls Lanturn fires an electric beam that hits Starmie and knocks it away as it falls back on the landing platform. Up in the air Gorebyss continues heading for Drizzile as Misty speaks.
"Drizzile use Hydro Pump!" "Dodge Gorebyss then use Aqua Tail!" Both trainers' call Drizzile manages to reposition himself he looks at Gorebyss and fires a big stream of water that goes to hit the mon. Gorebyss easily dodges the attack as once it reaches Drizzile it covers its tail in water and hits the mon sending Drizzile downward as he crashes into Starmie who was just about finished standing back up as Misty speaks.
"Starmie, Drizzile!" Misty calls in worry as when the dust clears it showcases the two-mons groaning in pain as Gorebyss then lands right next to Lanturn. Daisy then looks at Huntail and speaks.
"And now it's Dewgong's turn. Huntail use Crunch!" "Dewgong dodge then use Ice Beam!" Both trainers' call. Huntail covers its teeth in dark energy and goes to bite Dewgong, but the seal moves to the right and dodges the attack. Dewgong then fires out an icy beam that goes to hit Huntail as Daisy speaks.
"Gorebyss use Psychic to send the Ice Beam back at Dewgong and Huntail use Waterfall!" Daisy calls Gorebyss's eyes glow as it fires the psychic waves that connect with the Ice Beam and sends it back at Dewgong hitting the mon in the face. Dewgong groans in pain as he then looks forward seeing Huntail swimming towards him with its body covered in water and before Misty can tell Dewgong to dodge Huntail hits Dewgong hard in the stomach making the mon cough in pain as he's sent out of the water. Dewgong then falls on the same landing platform that Drizzile and Starmie landed on as Misty speaks.
"Dewgong are you okay?!" Misty calls in worry as Dewgong groans in pain Huntail comes back up to the surface and is next to Lanturn and Gorebyss as Daisy speaks.
"Well Misty I didn't think that the battle was going to end this fast, but it looks like it is." Daisy says as Misty speaks
"No! The battle isn't over yet! My Pokémon can still battle!" Misty says as Daisy speaks.
"Hmmm that is true, so I'll end this battle with my next attack. Lanturn use Thunder!" Daisy calls Lanturn roars to the sky as it summons a large electric bolt that heads for Misty's Pokémon as she speaks.
"Starmie, Dewgong, Drizzile dodge!" Misty calls the 3-mons groan in pain as they see the electric bolt coming down to hit them. Drizzile sees Starmie and Dewgong trying to stand up but they're having difficulty. Drizzile gets a determined look on his face, he manages to stand up, looks at the Thunder and holds his hands up in the air as Misty speaks.
"Drizzile what are you doing? Dodge!" Misty says but Drizzile declines as Daisy speaks.
"Well looks like your Drizzile's giving up" Daisy says while having a smile on her face as Drizzile continues to look at the Thunder when the electric bolt's about to hit Drizzile the mon speaks.
"Driz!" Drizzile says as he summons a protective barrier that blocks the attack. Once Drizzile does that everyone has surprised looks on their faces as Daisy speaks.
"He learned Protect?!" Daisy says in surprise as in the crowd Kukui speaks.
"Seeing as there wasn't enough time for Dewgong and Starmie to dodge the Thunder Drizzile learned Protect in order to protect them." Kukui says with the group nodding while Pikachu and Togepi cheer. Back on the battlefield Misty came to that same conclusion as she smiles and speaks.
"Amazing Drizzile!" Misty says with Drizzile nodding as Daisy breaks out of her shock and speaks.
"Lanturn add more power to the Thunder!" Daisy calls with Lanturn nodding as it roars increasing the power of the attack. Drizzile can feel the Thunder becoming stronger as it begins to push down on the barrier and begins to crack it a little bit as Misty speaks.
"Come on Drizzile you can do it I believe in you!" Misty says with Drizzile nodding as he roars increasing the power of his barrier as a few seconds later the barrier reforms and the Thunder disappears. Drizzile then undo's his barrier and pants a little bit as Misty speaks.
"Great job Drizzile!" Misty says with the mon nodding as Dewgong and Starmie thank Drizzle making the mon smile. On the other side of the battlefield Daisy has a surprised look on her face but then smiles and speaks.
"Not bad Misty but don't celebrate too early as we're still battling! Now Lanturn use Thunder again and Huntail, Gorebyss swim forward!" Daisy calls with the 3-mons nodding. Lanturn roars to the sky summoning another large electric bolt that heads for Misty's Pokémon while Huntail and Gorebyss begin to swim forward. Misty's Pokémon see the incoming Thunder as Misty speaks.
"Dodge!" Misty calls with the 3-mons nodding as they all quickly jump on another land platform dodging the attack. Once they do they see the Thunder hit the land platform they were on earlier and completely destroy it. Misty along with her Pokémon are surprised they then quickly recover from their shock as they see Huntail along with Gorebyss coming as Daisy speaks.
"Use Waterfall!" Daisy calls the 2 mons cover their bodies in water and shoot forward heading for Misty's Pokémon as Misty calls for a command.
"Drizzile use Protect and Starmie use Psychic!" Misty calls Drizzile, jumps forward, summons a protective barrier and blocks both attacks. Huntail along with Gorebyss try to break the barrier but Drizzile holds on strong as the 2 mons are then bounced away. Starmie quickly fires the waves of Psychic energy at them which connects and does some damage to the 2 mons as Misty speaks.
"Now send them flying!" Misty calls Starmie nods as it sends the 2-mons flying as they crash land on a landing platform a few feet away as Daisy speaks.
"Now Lanturn use Charge Beam on Starmie!" Daisy calls Lanturn fires an electric beam that heads for Starmie as Misty speaks.
"Dewgong intercept it with Ice Beam!" Misty calls Dewgong fires the icy beam that collides with the electric beam and creates an explosion. Out of the explosion appears Drizzile. He's heading for Lanturn by jumping from platform to platform as Daisy speaks.
"Lanturn use Thunderbolt!" "Dodge Drizzile then jump in the air and use Hydro Pump!" Both trainers' call. Lanturn sparks its body and fires and electric bolt, but Drizzile dodges it. Lanturn keeps firing Thunderbolt after Thunderbolt, but Drizzile continues to easily dodge. When Drizzile dodges one more Thunderbolt he then jumps high in the air, takes a deep breath and fires a big stream of water out of his mouth that heads for Lanturn as Daisy speaks.
"You just messed up Misty! Lanturn use Thunder!" Daisy calls Lanturn roars as it fires a large electric bolt that easily cuts through Drizzile's Hydro Pump and goes to hit the mon as Misty smirks and speaks.
"Sorry Daisy but you're the one who messed up" Misty says making Daisy confused as Misty speaks.
"Starmie send that Thunder towards Huntail and Gorebyss with Psychic!" Misty calls surprising Daisy as Starmie fires the waves of psychic energy that connects with the Thunder and sends it towards the 2 mons as Daisy speaks.
"That won't work Misty! Gorebyss use your Psychic to send it back and Huntail dive in the water!" "I don't think so! Dewgong use Icy Wind!" Both trainers call when Gorebyss's about to use Psychic on the Thunder Dewgong suddenly appears and fires a cold wind at the 2-mons causing damage and stopping them in their tracks. The 2-mons groan in pain and can feel their speed decrease as they then see the Thunder heading towards them Daisy speaks.
"Dodge!" Daisy calls but the 2 mons can't as the Thunder hits them and begins to shock the 2-mons causing super effective damage. Huntail along with Gorebyss cry out in pain as there's then an explosion Daisy speaks.
"Huntail, Gorebyss!" Daisy calls in worry as when the smoke clears everyone can see the 2-mons laying on the land platform and are knocked out as the ref speaks.
"Huntail and Gorebyss are unable to battle!" The ref says making Misty happy as she speaks.
"Yeah!" Misty cheers as in the crowd Tracey speaks.
"Amazing by making it seem like Drizzle was a sitting duck it forced Daisy to call for Lanturn to use Thunder which is what Misty was expecting, so she had Starmie use Psychic to direct the Thunder towards Huntail, and Gorebyss instead." Tracey says as Kukui speaks.
"Also, before Huntail could dive back in the water and Gorebyss use Psychic she had Dewgong use Icy wind to not only distract them but also slow them down so that they would get hit by the thunder" Kukui says with Tracey nodding as Kiawe, Lillie, and Burnet speak.
"Go! Misty!" "Pika!" "Prr!" The 3 humans along with Pikachu and Togepi say. Back in the trainer hall the group have smiles on their faces as Lana speaks.
"I wasn't expecting Misty to do that" Lana says as Leaf speaks.
"Yeah, it surprised me too" Leaf says as Nemona speaks.
"She's pretty good maybe I should ask her for a battle" Nemona says while having an excited look on her face as Barry speaks.
"It was okay I guess" Barry says while Ash stays silent as he has a smile on his face. We now go over to where Lorelai and the 3 Paldean Elite 4 members are. They were surprised by Misty's strategy as Larry speaks.
"That was pretty good" Larry says with Rika and Hassel agreeing with him while Lorelai continues to watch the battle having an interested look on her face. Back on the battlefield Daisy returns Huntail and Gorebyss to their Pokeball's telling the 2-mons good job. Daisy then looks forward she sees Drizzile land on a land platform and looks over at Misty who speaks.
"How'd you like that, Daisy?" Misty asks while having a smile on her face as Daisy speaks.
"Heh, you got me good sis but now that Huntail and Gorebyss are gone Lanturn can now go all out" Daisy says as Misty speaks.
"What do you mean by that?" Misty asks as Daisy smiles and speaks.
"Here let me show you. Lanturn use Electric Terrian!" Daisy calls Lanturn roars as it fires electricity everywhere that covers the whole battlefield and turns the water yellow. Misty along with her Pokémon have surprised looks on their faces as Daisy speaks.
"Now that the field's set let's kick it up a notch! Lanturn use Discharge!" Daisy calls Lanturn roars as it begins firing electricity everywhere Misty speaks.
"Starmie, Dewgong dodge! And Drizzile use Protect!" Misty calls with the 3-mons nodding as the electric bolts go to hit them Dewgong along with Starmie begin to dodge while Drizzile summons a protective barrier blocking the attack. Dewgong along with Starmie are doing their best to dodge the electric bolts but there are too many of them. They continue trying their best to dodge but then they both get hit by the bolts making them cry out in pain as a few seconds later there's an explosion as Misty speaks.
"Dewgong, Starmie!" Misty calls in worry as when the Discharge disappears everyone looks at the cloud of smoke and when it clears, they see Dewgong along with Starmie laying on the land platform knocked out as the ref makes the call.
"Starmie along with Dewgong are unable to battle!" The ref says as Daisy speaks.
"Alright! Great job Lanturn!" Daisy says with the mon nodding. Meanwhile with Misty she's sad that Dewgong and Starmie fainted but then smiles and returns them back to their Pokeball's. Misty looks at the 2 balls telling Starmie along with Dewgong thank you and then puts the balls away. Misty then gets a serious look on her face as she looks at Drizzile and speaks.
"Drizzle you're the last one left let's win this for Starmie and Dewgong!" Misty says with Drizzile nodding as he gets serious too Daisy speaks.
"Lanturn let's finish this quick use Discharge!" Daisy calls Lanturn roars and begins firing multiple electric bolts that head for Drizzile as Misty speaks.
"Drizzile use Mud Shot!" Misty calls Drizzile, brings out his tongue and swings it forward sending out multiple shots of mud that collide with the electric bolts getting rid of a lot of them as a few more head for Drizzile Misty speaks.
"Drizzile dodge then use Hydro Pump!" Misty calls Drizzile quickly jumps to the left dodging the last remaining electric bolts and lands on another land platform. Drizzile then takes a deep breath and fires another big stream of water that heads for Lanturn as Daisy speaks.
"Charge Beam Lanturn!" Daisy calls Lanturn fires an electric beam that easily goes through the Hydro Pump and heads for Drizzile as Misty speaks.
"Jump Drizzile and use Mud Shot!" Misty calls Drizzile quickly jumps in the air and dodges the Charge Beam. Drizzile brings out his tongue, swings it and fires multiple shots of mud that head for Lanturn as Daisy speaks.
"Lanturn use Surf!" Daisy calls Lanturn roars as it summons a big wave of water that gets rid of the Mud Shot and goes to hit Drizzile as Misty speaks.
"Drizzile use Aqua Jet and swim through the Surf!" Misty calls Drizzile covers his body in water as he shoots forward and dives into the Surf. While Drizzile's in the Surf he can feel the large wave trying to push him away, but Drizzile keeps going forward until he appears out of the wave and is now making his way towards Lanturn as Misty speaks.
"Okay Drizzile hit it!" Misty calls with Drizzile nodding as he goes to hit Lanturn Daisy smiles and speaks.
"You just so fell for my trap Misty. Lanturn use Electro Web!" Daisy calls surprising Misty and before she can tell Drizzile to dodge. Lanturn creates an electric ball and throws it at Drizzile as it becomes an electric web. Drizzile can't dodge in time as the web then wraps around Drizzile and sends the mon landing on a nearby platform as Misty speaks.
"Drizzile!" Misty calls in worry as on the land platform Drizzile tries to remove the net but every time he does, he gets shocked causing super effective damage to him as Daisy speaks.
"Now then I believe it's time we end this. Lanturn use Thunder!" Daisy calls Lanturn roars to the sky and summons a large electric bolt that heads for Drizzile. As the bolt's about to hit Drizzile Misty smiles and speaks.
"The battle's not over yet Daisy. Drizzile use Substitute!" Misty calls "It knows Substitute?!" Daisy says in surprise as Drizzile replaces himself with a clone that the Thunder hits creating an explosion. When the explosion clears everyone can see that Drizzile is gone as Daisy speaks.
"Where'd Drizzile go?" Daisy questions as she along with Lanturn begin looking for the mon Drizzile suddenly appears behind Lanturn as Misty speaks.
"Now Drizzile use Aqua Jet!" Misty calls Drizzile, covers his body in water shoots forward and hits Lanturn. Lanturn's send sliding back a few feet away as it then looks forward and sees Drizzile as Daisy speaks.
"Lanturn use Thunderbolt!" "Drizzile Mud Shot!" Both trainers call Lanturn fires an electric bolt that heads for Drizzile, but Drizzile swings his tongue sending out multiple shots of mud that easily bypasses the electric bolt and hit Lanturn causing damage to the mon as Daisy speaks.
"Lanturn use Discharge!" Daisy calls Lanturn roars as it fires out multiple electric bolts that head for Drizzile as Misty speaks.
"Use Aqua Jet to dodge Drizzile!" Misty calls Drizzile, covers his body in water and begins to fly/swim around the battlefield easily dodging the electric bolts. As Drizzile continues to dodge Lanturn increases the number of the electric bolts they go to hit Drizzile as Misty speaks.
"Drizzile use Protect!" Misty calls Drizzile, points his right hand forward, summons a protective barrier and blocks the attack. When that happens Lanturn appears in front of Drizzile with its body covered in electricity as Daisy speaks.
"Hit him with Wild Charge Lanturn!" Daisy calls with Lanturn nodding as it goes to hit Drizzile Misty speaks.
"Drizzile use Tearful Look!" Misty calls as Drizzile makes a sad face with tears coming out of his eyes which makes Lanturn stop in its tracks. Lanturn can feel its attack and special attack power decrease as Daisy speaks.
"Lanturn it's a trap! Use Thunderbolt!" "Drizzile quick use Hydro Pump!" Both trainers call before Lanturn can attack Drizzile quickly fires a large stream of water out of his mouth that hits Lanturn and pushes the mon into a nearby land platform. Lanturn groans a little in pain then looks at Drizzile as Daisy speaks.
"Thunderbolt!" Daisy calls Lanturn fires the electric bolt towards Drizzile as Daisy speaks.
"Dodge with Aqua Jet Drizzile then hit Lanturn!" Misty calls Drizzile, covers his body in water and dodges the attack. Drizzile dives underwater, swims upward and hits Lanturn knocking the mon out of the water and sending it high into the air. Drizzile goes after Lanturn as Daisy speaks.
"Lanturn use Wild Charge!" Daisy calls Lanturn, repositions itself covers its body in electricity and begins falling towards Drizzile as Misty speaks.
"Drizzile use Substitute!" Misty calls Drizzile creates a clone in his place as Lanturn hits it instead and gets rid of it as Daisy speaks.
"Lanturn above you!" Daisy calls Lanturn, looks up in the air and sees Drizzile as Daisy speaks.
"Lanturn use Thunder!" "Drizzile fall forward while using Protect!" Both trainers' call. Lanturn lets out a mighty roar and fires a big Thunder upwards at Drizzile. Drizzile points both of his hands forward and summons a protective barrier that begins to easily block the attack. As Drizzile continues to fall the barrier is easily getting rid of the Thunder even when Lanturn uses more power. Drizzile keeps falling until his protect barrier manages to destroy the Thunder and he's now in front of Lanturn. Lanturn has a surprised look on its face as Daisy speaks.
"Lanturn this is your chance finish Drizzile off with Discharge!" "Drizzile quick use Hydro Pump!" Both trainers' call. Before Lanturn can fire its move Drizzle takes a deep breath and fires a giant Hydro Pump out of his mouth that consumes Lanturn and sends the mon crashing on a land platform and destroys it as Daisy speaks.
"Lanturn!" Daisy calls in worry as Drizzile then lands on a land platform. He looks forward while panting heavily as Misty speaks.
"Did that work?" Misty questions as she along with everyone look at where Lanturn fell. They continue to look as they see pieces of the destroyed land platform and in the middle of it is Lanturn who's floating on top of the water and is knocked out as the ref makes the call.
"Lanturn's unable to battle Drizzile's the winner! Seeing as contestant Daisy has no more Pokémon left contestant Misty is the winner and will move onto the next round!" The ref says. Misty has a surprised look on her face and speaks.
"We won?" Misty questions with Drizzile nodding making Misty smile as she speaks.
"We Won!" Misty cheers happily along with Drizzile as Jake speaks.
"And there you have it everyone the final winner of the first day of the Mandarin Island water tournament is Misty!" Jake says as the crowd lets out a loud cheer for Misty and Drizzile. In the crowd Tracey, Kiawe, and Lillie cheer loud for Misty while Kukui and Burnet smile. In the trainer hall we see Ash, Leaf, Lana, Nemona cheer loud for Misty too as Leaf and Lana speak.
"She did it!" Both girls say as Nemona speaks.
"That was such a good battle!" Nemona says as Barry speaks.
"I'll admit it was good" Barry says while Ash looks at the screen and has a smile on his face as he sees Misty giving Drizzile a hug. We now go over to where Lorelai, Rika, Larry, and Hassel are. They were impressed by the battle as Hassel speaks.
"A battle between two sisters simply Marvelous!" Hassel says while having tears coming out of his eyes as Rika and Larry look at him. Rika then looks at Lorelai and speaks.
"She's pretty good" Rika says with Lorelai agreeing with her as she speaks.
"Yes, and I think we're about to see something else" Lorelai says as back on the battlefield we see Daisy she's sad that she lost but smiles and speaks.
"Oh well" Daisy says as she then returns Lanturn back to its Pokeball and tells the mon thank you. Daisy then looks forward and sees Misty celebrating with her Pokémon (Starmie and Dewgong came out of their Pokeball's). Misty looks at the 3 mons and speaks.
"You 3 were amazing thank you!" Misty says with the 3-mons nodding as Misty then looks at Drizzile and speaks.
"And Drizzile even though you were at a type disadvantage against Lanturn thank you for continuing to battle and winning this battle for us" Misty says as Starmie along with Dewgong then thank Drizzile for avenging them. Drizzile looks at the 3 of them and smiles as suddenly he's then incased in a bright light surprising everyone as Jake speaks.
"Is this what I think this is?!" Jake says having a surprised look on his face with everyone else being surprised too as Misty speaks.
"Drizzile's evolving" Misty says as she along with everyone continue to look at Drizzile as he begins to change. Drizzile grows taller, his tail grows longer, and gets crest on the top of his head. When the light disappears what was once a Drizzile is now an Inteleon, everyone is surprised as Jake speaks.
"We all just witnessed a glorious evolution everyone!" Jake says as everyone begins to cheer/clap. In the trainer hall the group have surprised looks on their faces as Leaf speaks.
"I wasn't expecting Drizzile to evolve" Leaf says with the group nodding. Up in the stands Kukui speaks.
"After defeating Lanturn and getting thanks from his friends Drizzile probably felt satisfied which allowed him to evolve" Kukui says with the group nodding while Pikachu and Togepi cheer. Back on the battlefield Misty has a surprised look on her face as she looks at Inteleon with the mon looking at her. The 2 of them continue to look at each other in silence as Misty speaks.
"Inteleon?" Misty says as she continues to look at the mon who has a serious look on his face. A couple seconds later Inteleon smiles making Misty along with Starmie and Dewgong smile too as Misty speaks.
"Congratulations on evolving Inteleon!" Misty says as she wraps the mon in a hug while Starmie and Dewgong congratulate Inteleon too making the mon smile. After that Misty then lets go as she then hears a voice.
"Misty!" The voice says making Misty along with her Pokémon look as they see Daisy running towards them. When Daisy gets close enough, she looks at Misty and speaks.
"Misty you were like so amazing in our battle today!" Daisy says happily with Misty nodding as she speaks.
"Thank you Daisy and you were amazing too" Misty says as Daisy speaks.
"But Misty, you may've beaten me today, but you won't next time" Daisy says while having a confident look on her face making Misty smile as she speaks.
"We'll just have to see about that" Misty says while also having a confident smile as the 2 girls continue to look at each other until they laugh and hug each other. Misty then returns her Pokémon back to their Pokeball's as she along with Daisy then begin walking out from the stadium. Once they make to the trainer hall the group congratulate Misty on her win with Misty saying thank you. Suddenly Lily along with Violet appear Violet wraps Misty in a big hug as she's happy to see her again. Misty's happy to see Violet again too but Violet's squeezing her too tight, so Misty tries to get out of the hug while the others let out a small chuckle. 10 minutes later it's currently nighttime we see the trainers looking at a stage that has Lorelai, Rika, Larry, Hassel, and Jake standing on it Lorelai grabs a microphone looks at the trainers and speaks.
"First of all, congratulations to all of you who've made it to the second round I along with my colleagues here were very impressed with how you all used your water Pokémon today." Lorelai says with the trainers nodding as Lorelai then hands the mic over to Jake who begins to speak.
"Now then it's time to reveal who you'll all be battling in the second round please look at the screen" Jake says as the trainers look at the screen which has all of their pictures on it. Jake then presses a button which begins to randomize the images as they spin. The images continue to spin around until a few seconds later they stop as Jake speaks.
"Now please take a look and see who you'll all be facing tomorrow" Jake says as the trainers look and see who they'll be battling tomorrow. Misty looks at Ash and speaks.
"Do you see your opponent, Ash?" Misty asks as Ash speaks.
"Yep, looks like I'm going up against someone named Cody" Ash responds with Misty nodding as Leaf looks at Lana and speaks.
"Who are you battling Lana?" Leaf asks as Lana continues to look, she finds her image looks at the image next to hers and speaks.
"I'm battling Nemona tomorrow" Lana says surprising the group as Nemona looks at Lana and speaks.
"This is great I was hoping to get the chance to battle you let's have a great battle tomorrow" Nemona says with Lana agreeing with her. Leaf along with Barry then see who they'll be battling as Ash then looks at Misty and speaks.
"Who're you battling tomorrow, Misty?" Ash asks as Misty finds her image and when she's about to look at the image next to hers, they then hear a voice.
"It's me!" The voice says as everyone turns and sees Lily. Lily walks over to Misty and speaks.
"Don't get cocky just because you beat Daisy because if you do, I'll make sure to crush you" Lily says while having a serious look on her face as Misty speaks.
"You don't need to worry about that because I'm going to beat you instead" Misty says while having a serious look on her face too making Lily smile as she along with Daisy and Violet then leave with the group leaving as well. Once they do they meet up with Tracey, Kiawe, Lillie, Kukui, and Burnet. They all tell the group good job and Tracey hands Pikachu along with Togepi back to Ash and Misty. After that they all go their separate ways, going to rest for their battles tomorrow as the chapter comes to an end.

I decided to have Misty's Drizzile evolve here as it felt like it was the right time, and I was originally going to have him evolve during the battle, but I felt like it made more sense for him to evolve after the battle. I decided to include Misty's sisters in this tournament as I felt that it would make sense for them to compete and also give Misty a challenge. Also just to let you guys know this tournament isn't going to be very long like how the SS. Anne and Kanto league tournaments were but the battles will still be intense.
