Bellwood
Today should have been an ordinary day. An ordinary day was when a super villain or giant robot attacked and The Guardians or some other hero would come and save everyone. The people of Bellwoodalways assumed that nothing bad would come to them as a result of a super villain attack, and that they had nothing to fear from any kind of powers.
Today was the day that everything changed.
At 6:15 PM Local Time, there was a giant flash of light that came from Queens. The area of Forest Hills had been vaporized in a nuclear explosion.
Countless millions were murdered, and the names were still coming in.
Frank Tennyson.
Max Tennyson.
Natalie Tennyson.
Carl Tennyson.
Sandra Tennyson.
Rook Blonko.
Drew Saturday.
Doyle Blackwell.
Doc Saturday.
Fiskerton Saturday.
Komodo Saturday.
Zon Saturday.
Zak Saturday.
The names kept pouring in as rescue workers along with the help of The Guardians and other various super humans attempted to pull whoever was still alive out of the wreckage.
But in the gathering of all these heroes, there was still someone missing.
The Raft…
Van Kleiss felt the black-gloved fist smash his face in as he was forced down into a chair. He smiled sinisterly. It was too late to undo what he had done. His plan had gone perfectly, and everything would almost be completed.
The figure of Rex Salazar, Hardware, leaned on the desk, looking at Kleiss with a face demanding answers from him.
"THE NUKE!" Hardware yelled. "Where'd you get it?!"
"Do you want one as well, Hardware?" Kleiss asked sarcastically.
Hardware was furious right now for two reasons. One was that Van Kleiss had finally managed to commit genocide unlike anything the World had seen before. But also equally upsetting was the cause of this had been at the hands of someone whom Hardware had felt was almost like a brother to him.
"You made him murder his wife, Kleiss." Hardware said, through grinding teeth. "You made him murder his unborn child and took his home away from him. WHY?!"
He brought his fists down on the desk hard as Kleiss sighed. "It's simple, Rex." Kleiss laughed. "I did it to prove a point."
"This has always been between you and me!" Hardware said, grabbing Kleiss by his jacket. "Why'd you do it to him?!"
"I wanted to win, Hardware." Kleiss explained. "Every time we have crossed paths, you have always defeated me. Your spirit is too strong for me to break. But the shapeshifter…ah! Omni-X was an easy soul to manipulate and crush his dreams. That's why I took his wife and implanted the trigger to that warhead I stole. And with the remaining nanites I stole combined with Zombozo's hallucinogenic gas, I nullified his Omnitrix so he thought he was fighting that red alien monstrosity the whole time. And he murdered his own wife and unborn son. As I said, Rex, you are too strong to break. But the Coming Storm finally knows what true pain feels like. He knows the harsh reality of the world as you once did."
He paused to see Hardware was still looking confident that Omni-X would recover from this.
"It won't work, Kleiss!" Hardware declared. "Omni-X will grieve, yes, but he won't break. He'll remain the hero that I've seen him be for a long time now."
"Is that so?" Kleiss asked, as he heard the soundwave booming across the city heading towards them. "Let us put that to the test, shall we?"
With that, the wall burst through with none other than Heatblast standing in it's path as dust blew by. Hardware could see his fists were clenched tight together, and could hear the angered breaths of the Pyronite.
Heatblast is a striking figure with a muscular build, his body glowing with pure plasma energy and covered in rugged reddish rock plates. His broad shoulders feature holes that resemble miniature volcanoes, emphasizing his fiery nature. He wears specialized leggings in black, white, and vibrant green that enhance his powerful presence. His uniquely shaped feet have two toes in front and one at the back, adding to his distinctive look. The Omnitrix symbol prominently adorns his chest, signifying his extraordinary abilities.
"GET AWAY FROM HIM." Heatblast demanded, anger clear in his voice.
"I'm handling this." Hardware told him.
Heatblast approached Kleiss who leaned with one elbow on the table to hold his head up.
Heatblast then threw the table into the right wall, breaking it. With just as much speed, Heatblast took Kleiss by the neck and slammed him into the opposite wall.
"YOU DRUGGED ME!" Heatblast yelled. "MADE ME…" He looked at the ground defeated. "Kai…" He said, sadly. "My son…"
This wasn't supposed to happen. It was supposed to be the happiest day of his life. He had discovered his own wife was pregnant with their son before she was kidnapped and experimented on by Kleiss and Breach. He found her with the help of the Guardians in a submarine, only to find Malware was waiting for him. Desperate to defend his family, Omni-X tackled Malware out of the submarine, and repeatedly beat him as they flew towards the sky, Omni-X attacking Malware with all his might to make sure he could be easily subdued.
It was only when they were in space that Omni-X realized he had been tricked.
He hadn't been fighting Malware at all.
Instead of the villainous
Galvanic Mechamorph, it was the broken, bleeding, and dying body of Kai Green as Omni-X stood over. Then as he was in his Kryptonian form he soon realized that Kai and her unborn son died soon after. Seconds later, Krypto-Knight could hear the blast that had gone off from his home in Bellwood. His super hearing had been on fire, but he didn't hear any of it. Not when he carried the dead body of his wife outside the place which had been his home for the past few years. Not when El Tigre attempted to comfort him. Not when he learned that Van Kleiss had been taken in and was facing interrogation. Not when he took off instantly to get here despite his fellow Guardian's protests.
All he could think of was that Kleiss had done this and if Omni-Xhad acted sooner, he might have had a chance to save everyone.
"First your Feedback and now your entire family." Kleiss smirked, patting Heatblast's right shoulder. "People you love tend to die because of you, don't they?"
Heatblast growled as he raised a fist up to punch Kleiss in his face.
"Heatblast don't!" Hardware calls out to stop his friend.
Heatblast punched the wall just inches away from Kleiss's face as he smirked, continuing to goad the hero.
"That's what I think is so fascinating about you, Benjamin." Kleiss laughed. "You're much more gullible than him."
He motioned to Hardware as Heatblast threw Kleiss into the opposite wall. At the speed the Pyronite had thrown him at, a normal person would have all the bones in their body broken, but years of prolonged nanite to keep him from sustaining damage allowed Kleiss to recover albeit with some pain in his back.
"You think you can have a family." Kleiss pointed out as he slowly stands up. "That locking me up in here will somehow magically reform me. And the people you love will be safe."
He pulled his chair back up and sat back down in it.
"So powerful, yet so stupid." Kleiss laughed, as Heatblast approached him. "Now leave me. I have planning to do to kill even more the next time I break out."
Heatblast had finally taken all he could from Kleiss. He already killed so many of Heatblast's friends and Heatblast was not ready to let Kleiss do this to him or anyone else again. There was only one way to do it and Heatblast didn't care about the consequences any more.
He took Kleiss by the neck as Van Kleiss screams of the burning on his neck, ready to do what was nessecary to save millions.
"THAT'S ENOUGH." Hardware declared, stepping up to stop Heatblast.
Heatblast just flung him back with the swipe of a hand as Hardware hit the back wall hard.
"I know it's soon…." Kleiss wheezed as Heatblast focused his attention back to the leader of the Pack. "But…do you think you'll ever love again? Perhaps….Perhaps next time you won't end up killing your next family."
Heatblast drew his fist back.
This was the point of no return and Ben Tennyson had made his decision in the name of the greater good.
Rex Salazar looked up just in time to see Heatblast punch Kleiss in the chest, just as the villain continues to screams. The punch, however, was so hard that upon impact, Van Kleiss's heart was ripped from his body, then before Rex knew it, Heatblast burned the heart to ashes with his hands
Van Kleiss was dead.
And perhaps most troubling of all was Rex Salazar, a young man who had endured the relentless racism directed at EVOs, navigating the dangers of being one of Providence's most wanted alongside his fellow Guardians. He had faced countless trials and tribulations, each one carving deep lines into his resolve. Now, as he stood amid the chaos that surrounded him, the ominous sense of foreboding gripped him tightly. The Omega EVO, with its overwhelming power, signaled to Rex that this was merely the beginning of an even darker chapter, one that promised to unleash horrors beyond his imagination.
So yeah...lol, this was not planned but has been on my mind for a while too. And this time it's with a cartoon version of Injsutice. Saw this old story years ago with their own version, so I thought I make my own and it's with Ben being evil and Rex being the hero he's always been. TBH I always wanted to write this, so I thought why not.
