Prologue
"Yo! I'm Zaruba, sup? You're probably wondering what you're in for in this. Well lemme tell ya, it's nothing like what you've seen before. This story is not of any of the Garo's your familiar with. Not Ryūga Dōgai, not Kouga Saejima, or even his son, Raiga. No no no, this is the tale of completely new holder of the Golden Knight title and it all takes place in the place you humans refer to as Hell. To start things off, let's go back a few years ago, to a place known as Pentagram City...".
Lucifer's Castle – Many Years Ago
As evening began to turn to night, the sun began to set on the Pride Ring in Hell. Within Castle Morningstar, the literal Devil himself, Lucifer Morningstar, was taking his 7-year-old daughter, Charlotte, or Charlie as she liked to be called, somewhere in the castle that meant a lot to the King of Hell.
"Where are we going, Daddy"? She asked.
"You'll see, my duckling", Lucifer answered, "I'm taking you to a place that holds a special place in my heart".
"But I've already seen the duckie room", Charlie said, looking at her father with a confused expression.
"Hahahaha, no no no, sweetie, I'm taking you to a much different room than that", Lucifer clarified, "Ah! We're here"!
Charlie turned her head and screamed as she jumped back and landed on her rear. She trembled as she saw, on a large set of mahogany red doors, a menacing drawing of a wolf's head seemingly staring right into her soul.
"Don't be scared, sweetie", Lucifer assured, helping her onto her feet, "It's just a drawing I had the interior designers paint, both for poignancy as well as symbolism".
"Sure looks real", Charlie said nervously, "And scary, too".
"Ah maybe so, my duckling, but I'm sure you'll change your mind once you see what's inside", Lucifer prompted as he picked up his daughter and held her in his arms.
Reluctant as she was, the princess of Hell trusted her father. After nodding her head in understanding, Lucifer went and pushed on the wood of the door, letting out a loud creaking noise. The entire room was dark, save for a shaft of light coming from a skylight in the ceiling.
"Oh, silly me! I forgot that I never had them connect the light system in here", Lucifer realized, "Oh well, easy fix".
With a snap of his fingers, the sounds of curtains being drawn was heard. To Charlie's surprise, as the curtains which were hidden away in the shadows opened up, the evening light illuminated the room revealing several sets of different colored suits of armor set up in a circle, all of which had a helmet with the same menacing wolf face design she saw on the door earlier. As soon as the light filled the entire room, all the armored suits began to shine and sparkle like precious gems.
"What is this place"? She asked as her eyes widened with awestruck wonder.
"This, Charlie, is a hall dedicated to the Makai Knights, the finest warriors that ever served me", Lucifer explained with a hint of reverence in his voice, "You could say they were the true heroes of Hell".
"Heroes", Charlie repeated in amazement as she passed by a silver set of armor, "Then how come they look like angry wolves"?
"Truthfully, it started out as more of a mislead tactic. Though known for their ferocity, wolves are highly social animals and very caring to their families", Lucifer elaborated before he went over and knelt beside his daughter, "Plus, their faces make for some badass mask designs".
"They sure do", Charlie agreed.
The two of them shared a laugh at that. Charlie looked around at the various suits of armor until her eye caught sight of one in particular that stood in the very center of the circle. It was a suit of golden armor that shined so bright that, for a moment, Charlie thought it was on fire. Lucifer watched as his daughter slowly treaded towards it. As she looked into the bright green eyes of the wolf head shaped helmet, Charlie couldn't help but notice something. Unlike the rest of the armored suits, the sight of this one made her feel at ease for some reason. Lucifer, quick to notice this, smiled as he walked over and joined his daughter.
"Do you like this one"? He asked.
"Mhm", Charlie nodded, "When I look at him, I feel...safe".
"You have a good eye, my little duckling", Lucifer praised, "This is a memorial to the strongest and greatest of all the Makai Knights, the Golden Knight Garo".
"Garo", Charlie repeated.
A thought suddenly occurred to her.
"Daddy, what happened to the people who wore these"? She asked, referring to the suits of armor, "Why are they here"?
"I made them to honor those who wore them and fought for the safety of both sinners and hellborn alike", Lucifer said.
"What were they fighting for"? Charlie inquired.
"Not what, who", Lucifer corrected, as he led Charlie over to a bench on the far side of the room, "It's actually a rather long story".
This immediately peaked the young princess' interest. As they both sat down, she felt that she HAD to know.
"Will you tell me"?! Charlie asked pleadingly, "I wanna know about the people who wore these suits! Please please PLEASE"?!
"Hahaha, alright, alright", Lucifer chuckled, "Well let's see...It began, long ago. Long before you were even born, actually. Well, first off, you know I'm the King of all Hell, right"?
"Right", Charlie nodded, "And mommy's the queen and I'm the princess"!
"That you are", Lucifer said booping her nose, "But back then, there were some who wanted to replace me. Way down deep within the lower levels of Hell, in a place known as the Makai Realm, rose the demon beasts known as Horrors".
"Horrors"? Charlie repeated hesitantly.
"Demon beasts with the ability to possess and destroy the souls of sinners and hellborn alike", Lucifer continued, "They aimed to take control of all the 7 rings. Their leader Messiah, the progenitor of all Horrors, had sworn to overthrow me".
"That sounds horrible", Charlie said in a worried tone.
"It was", Lucifer said before putting on a smile, "But, remember what I always tell you"?
"Never take shit from other demons"? Charlie guessed.
"That's right"! Lucifer confirmed with a thumbs up, "And that's exactly what happened. I wasn't about to let any demon, powerful or otherwise, try and give me shit".
"What'd you do"? Charlie inquired eagerly.
"I gathered the strongest hellborn I could find and I gave them the power to fight and kill the Horrors. To symbolize their duty to fight against the bad guys of the Makai Realm, I named them "The Makai Knights"! Lucifer explained before switching to a dramatic falsetto.
Charlie couldn't help but laugh at her father's silliness.
"Anyway, in the years that followed, the Makai Knights worked hard to seek out and destroy all the bad Horrors. Overtime, everyone in Hell began to admire and even respect the Makai Knights. It was they that protected everyone from the Horrors and even brought the rule of law to the seediest and most decadent places in Hell. And the greatest of all the Knights was the mighty golden knight, Garo", Lucifer went on as he pointed to the golden armor in the center of the room. Charlie's eyes glimmered in awe as she looked at the Golden Knight's armor.
"Thanks to the efforts of Garo and all his comrades, the knights managed to drive the Horrors out of the rings", Lucifer reported happily before frowning, "But their victory didn't last for very long".
"Why"? Charlie asked.
"You see, Messiah discovered that she could use her power to open a portal to the human world, and sent her children to kill and absorb every living human soul on the planet", Lucifer replied sadly.
"How awful", Charlie lamented placing her hands on her face.
"Yes it was", Lucifer said, "In more ways than one. With that many human souls, Messiah would have had the power to break the barrier I placed between Hell and the Makai realm, and lay waste to the seven rings".
Charlie gasped at this revelation.
"What with mankind in jeopardy, God, your grandfather, now had a bone to pick with Messiah, too", Lucifer revealed, "So he and I managed to work out a deal; Because they originated from a realm nearest my end of the afterlife, I would provide the chosen humans with the power and knowledge needed to fight against the Horrors".
"Did you get anything out of it"? Charlie wondered.
"Oh yes! Dear old dad agreed to let the souls of everyone possessed by the Horrors come here, straight to Hell", replied the King of Hell.
"That doesn't seem right", Charlie commented.
"From one perspective, perhaps", Lucifer acquiesced, "But sadly, only those whose hearts are tainted with darkness, the ones who revel in all the bad things they do to people, are the ones who get possessed by the Horrors. So, of course, it only makes sense that they end up down here".
Hearing this made Charlie a little sad.
"Doesn't really sound fair", she said softly.
"Hmmm, maybe...maybe so", Lucifer said in slight agreement, "Anyway, the war in the human world against the Horrors has been going on for quite some time. After being the granted the knowledge of the Makai world by yours truly, the humans who possessed it established the Makai Order, which produced several Makai priests who used spells to fight against the Horrors, as well as Madou tools".
"Madou tools"? Charlie repeated, tilting her head in confusion.
"Special weapons and items forged from Soul Metal, a mystical alloy they created which would eventually be what they used to forge the first sets of Makai Armor", Lucifer explained, "That armor was the medium through which a portion of the souls of the first Makai Knights would inhabit and give the human Makai Knights the power they needed to drive the Horrors back, and they did".
Needless to say, Charlie was dazzled. Even though she grew up with little to no knowledge of what they were capable of, it amazed her to hear that mere humans were able to stand up to a powerful force like the Horrors.
"Then, after that? What happened after that"? Charlie asked, wanting to hear more.
"Well, after that, things get a little sad", Lucifer sighed in a disappointed tone.
"Sad how"? Charlie questioned.
"Well sweetie, in the centuries since the war in the human world against the Horrors began, it has become a give and take kind of situation, despite them driving out the worst of the Horrors", Lucifer said, "And there's been no end in sight. Too many knights have fallen, both in battle and from grace. To make matters worse, just after you were born, the souls of the original knights which reside here in Hell were lost during one of the Exterminations, scattered to the winds, including that of the legendary Garo".
"So then, that thing is a fake"? Charlie asked, pointing to the set of golden armor.
"Eheheh, it's not a fake, sweetie, it's an homage", Lucifer chided gently, slightly offended by his daughter's unintentionally hurtful comment.
"What's the difference"? Charlie queried.
"Anyway", Lucifer continued, ignoring Charlie's question, "I've tried my hardest to find the missing sets of Makai armor, but after hundreds of years of searching, I'm afraid that we may never see any of them again".
Seeing the rather disheartened expression her father had upon saying that awakened something in Charlie.
"You don't know that", she denied, "Nobody knows that. Not for sure, at least. Maybe someone's just hiding them".
She then looked at her father with a serious expression.
"I promise, daddy, I'll find them all", she promised, "Not just for you though, but for everyone".
That last part managed to raise the fallen angel's curiosity.
"Why's that, Charlie"? Lucifer asked.
"Every place should have heroes", Charlie replied simply, "Even Hell".
Lucifer simply smiled in reply. Despite her naivety, he felt somewhat comforted by his daughters' claim. Meanwhile, the girl in question couldn't help but smile as she stared at the golden armor of Garo with admiration, promising herself that she'd be just like the heroes that served her father and protected the seven rings.
"Daddy"? She said, looking over at her father.
"Yes"? Lucifer replied.
"Will you tell me more about Garo"? Charlie asked.
"Would you like to hear more about Garo"? Lucifer prompted.
"Mhm! Mhm"! Charlie hummed, nodding her head.
"Hahaha! Already have a favorite, do you? Well, can't blame ya, he's daddy's favorite, too"! Lucifer revealed with a chuckle, "So much so that I happened to make...".
Lucifer held out his hands and then reached behind Charlie's head and pulled out a colorful and vibrantly drawn book.
"A picture book"! Lucifer announced.
"Oooooh"! Charlie marveled with star filled eyes, "Will you read it to me"?!
"Of course, Char-char", Lucifer said as his daughter got comfy on his lap and opened the book to the first page, "Now then, once upon a time, there was a golden knight...".
Many years later - Present Day
Now a fully grown adult in her 20s, Charlie, dressed in a white dress shirt, dark slacks held up by black suspenders, and two toned high heeled shoes, couldn't help but feel sad as she looked from her balcony at the scenery before her. Several buildings set ablaze or reduced to rubble and bodies filling up the streets like discarded litter. The reason it was like this was due to the yearly Extermination. Once a year, Heaven would send down its' angels, which were dubbed "Exorcists", to slaughter as many sinners as they could find, in order to control the population. It was, without question, brutal and savage even for Hell, but it was a necessary evil. But even so, that fact alone did nothing to quell the sadness welling up in the princess' heart that only grew as she continued to look at the depressing state of things.
She felt the immediate urge to find something to take her mind off the melancholic tragedy down below. Turning her head, she stared at the nightstand by her bed and went over to it. After searching through the small pile of magazines, she finally found what she was looking for. A small picture book entitled "The Tale Of The Golden Knight Of Hell", the very same picture book detailing the story of Garo her father gave to her when she was a little girl. She smiled as she recalled the times her father spent telling her stories of Garo and the Makai Knights. Even now, the memories of those stories filled her with inspiration. Over the years, she grew to respect the memory of the Makai Knights, though out of all of them, Garo was her personal favorite.
"I wish you were here", she said softly as she got to her feet, looking at the book in her hands, "Maybe if you were, then maybe things would be different".
She walked back over to the balcony and, as she stared back at the grizzly state of things below her, she held the book close to her chest. After a moment of silence, she suddenly began to hum a tune that, while soothing, had a bit of a woeful feeling to it.
"Charlie"?
The moment was interrupted as Charlie looked over to see someone standing at her doorway. She was a moth type sinner with grayish-lavender skin, knee-length grayish-white hair with faded-purple tips and long jagged bangs that covered the left side of her face. She wore a red hairbow on the back of her head with small tears on each side and two long tails. She also sported a slate-gray eyepatch with a red-pink "X" over her left eye. Her outfit consisted of a light gray one-shouldered bra under a white minidress with loose straps, two light gray crosses on the front, and a scalloped-trim at the bottom, which was held together by a light gray belt around her waist. She also wore a light slate-gray choker and a pair of arm-length gloves, with the right glove being fingerless, and thigh-high stockings that were scalloped white at the cuff, with the right one colored full light gray while the left was striped in light pink and light gray. Her name was Vaggie, Charlie's girlfriend and confidante.
"Oh, Vaggie, I didn't hear you", Charlie said in a slightly embarrassed tone.
"I certainly heard you", Vaggie said, walking over to her, "You were singing. Or technically humming, I guess"?
"Oh, sorry about that", Charlie apologized.
"Don't be", Vaggie assured, reaching up and placing a hand on her cheek, "You know I think you've got a beautiful voice, whether you're singing, humming, or just talking in general".
"Awww, Vags", Charlie gushed as her face started to turn pink.
Vaggie then noticed the book in Charlie's grasp.
"What's that"? She asked.
"Oh, this"? Charlie said, "Just a storybook my dad gave to me when I was little. One of my favorites actually. It's about...Hell's greatest hero".
"Kinda hard to imagine when you say it out loud", Vaggie commented.
"I know but...to me, he is a hero", Charlie replied firmly, "And he always will be".
Vaggie couldn't help but frown at that.
"That's actually what made me start humming", Charlie revealed, "It was a song that my mom taught me. She said that it was a requiem for all the great heroes who perished defending Hell".
"You don't say"? Vaggie said, rather fascinated by it.
"Yeah", Charlie said with a nod, "But now...even though they're not around anymore, it kinda felt like, given what day it is, I felt as though it could be like a requiem for the ones who didn't make it today".
Vaggie's heart tightened at these words. Despite Hell being the way it was, Charlie felt real love for her people and felt real sorrow whenever they were suffering. That's one of the reasons she loved her so much. It was then that the one-eyed sinner had an idea.
"Hey", Vaggie said, getting her attention, "Why don't you sing it now"?
"Huh"? Charlie said confused.
"Since you feel like honoring their memory, whether or not they deserved it, I feel like they should get more than just a hum", Vaggie elaborated, "Let them hear it for real".
"You really think I should"? Charlie asked with a hopeful tone.
"Go for it, babe", Vaggie said, gesturing out over the balcony.
Smiling at her girlfriend, Charlie turned her attention back towards the scenery. As she closed her eyes and held the book close to her again, she began to sing.
(Insert GARO soundtrack - Red Requiem)
"Laaa la la la laa laaaaa~! La la laaa, la laaa, la la la laaa, la la la laaa la laaaa! Laaa la la la la la laaaa laaa, la laaaa~! La la la laaa la la la la laaaaa~"!
As Charlie sang out the cadences of the melody, Vaggie couldn't help but relax as her beloved's beautiful voice filled her ears. Unbeknownst to either of them, the melodious tune travelled through the air and began to make it's way into the ears of the sinners and demons who'd begun to come out from hiding. Even though they couldn't tell who was singing, they felt whatever tension they had slowly begin to grow lighter, as if it were becoming easier to deal with. Many of them began to feel that this tune, this song, was being played out of respect for the lives lost today, not unlike same way the Taps bugle call was played at military funerals.
Meanwhile, in a boarded-up Brownstone in the middle of the city, a young man with pale grey skin sat in his room, asleep in a dark red paisley patterned arm chair. He had long, dark brown hair that reached down to the tops of his shoulders, with a short beard to match, and he wore a black long sleeved collared shirt, dark blue jeans, and brown leather shoes. On his right wrist was a brown leather cuff bracelet that had a red jewel cradled in a gold triangle, which was affixed to a silver medallion the size of a half dollar that was fastened to the cuff. The most notable thing about the man was on his face and his hands were cracks that made him look like a porcelain China doll that had been broken and glued back together. His name was Logan and that, along with a small handful of other things, were the only things he knew about himself.
As the song managed to travel through his recently opened window and into his room, he groaned as he turned in his sleep before waking up with a startled gasp.
(End Song)
After catching his breath, he gathered his bearings before walking over to the window. He couldn't help but wonder what that song was and why it sounded so familiar.
"You heard it too, right"?
Logan looked over at his night table to a small metal stand that sat next to his lamp. On the stand rested a silver ring shaped like a skull. It's name was Zaruba, a Madou tool and Logan's partner, for better or worse. Though, in Logan's case, sometimes it felt like the latter more often than not.
"Pretty catchy tune, eh"? he asked, "Kinda like someone's trying to lift the spirits of the people having to clean up the mess the angels left".
"It's not like it'll change anything", Logan said stoically, "No music, no matter how lively, can mitigate the carnage this day brings".
"Man, you're such a downer, Logan", Zaruba groaned, "Then again if you asked me, having gone through something like this yourself, it'd be weirder if you weren't".
"Good thing nobody did ask you then", Logan huffed irately.
As he closed the window, Logan casted his gaze over to the dresser. On it stood a picture frame with a photo of Logan, with his hair neatly coiffed and dressed in a black vest and golden yellow necktie, looking towards the camera as a familiar white skinned, rosy red cheeked girl with blonde hair who was about his age smiling as she hugged his arm, though he himself only gave off a tight-lipped grin. In the background was what looked to be an amusement park of sorts. As he stared at the photo, he couldn't help but think back to that day.
Flashback: Lu Lu World - 3 years ago
After getting their picture taken, Charlie hurried over to the photographer to collect the picture. Meanwhile, Logan looked around at the scenery. He coughed uncomfortably as he slightly loosened his necktie. His work attire, which consisted of a white dress shirt, a black vest, golden yellow neck tie, and black dress pants ended up clashing with the brightly colored novelty sneakers with the words "I Love Lu Lu World!" written on the toes. He hated his work uniform, but as the Princess' valet, he was required to look presentable. His
concentration was broken as he felt a tug at his arm and an 8x10 photo of him and Charlie was held up in front of his face.
"Look Logan! It's us"! Charlie said as she held up the photo for him to see.
"I can see that", Logan nodded.
"I got one for each of us", Charlie said, handing him the photograph, "One for you and one for me".
"I appreciate it, Miss", Logan said in a warm yet dull tone.
"Looooogan, I told you, when Dad and the others aren't around, call me Charlie"! Charlie chided with a frown.
"Sorry, force of habit", Logan bowing his head, "Hard to switch it off".
"It's okay", Charlie assured patting his arm.
"So, we've got another hour and a half until you're needed back at the castle", Logan reminded, "What would you like to do next while we're here"?
"Hmmm...I wanna go on the Hellraiser"! Charlie decided.
"Again"?! Logan said in disbelief, "That'd be the 3rd time today! And need I remind you what happened the last two times you went on? Or need I remind you why I needed a new pair of shoes"?
"I said I was sorry", Charlie said sheepishly, "And come on, I hardly ever get a day out and neither do you. I want us to spend as much time as possible together having fun"!
Logan couldn't help but feel somewhat flattered by her sentiment. Though, due to the strict codes regarding indentured servitude, he was unable to reciprocate.
"Please go with me", Charlie pleaded, looking at her valet with big puppy dog eyes, "Please, Logan? Please, please, Pleeeease~"?
Much like her father, Logan was unable to resist. After regaining his bearings, he cleared his throat.
"Don't make me regret this", Logan said simply.
"Eeeeeee"! Charlie squealed in delight, "We're gonna have so much fun! Come on let's go get in line"!
"Right behind you, Mi-er, I mean...Charlie", Logan said hesitantly.
The princess beamed as she heard him call her by her name and not some formal honorific.
"And perhaps afterwards, we could stop and get some funnel cake"? Logan suggested.
Charlie let out a loud gasp.
"With whipped cream and Strawberry syrup"?! She asked eagerly.
"Anything you want", Logan nodded.
"Yay"! Charlie cheered before hugging his arm once more, "Logan, you're the BEST"!
As he felt the warmth she gave off in the embrace, Logan couldn't help but crack the slightest of smiles. It was small, but still a smile.
End of Flashback
As the memory ended, Logan simply looked at the framed photo with a neutral expression. Even though the memory still brought him a sense of comfort and nostalgia, Logan knew that that time in his afterlife had come to an end.
"You know if you wanted to you could always reach out and contact her", Zaruba said.
"You know why I can't do that", Logan reminded, looking over at the ring on his nightstand, "When I took this job, I made a promise. No member of the royal family-".
"Must know of the Horrors newest campaign, yeah yeah yeah, I was there with you when you made the deal, remember"? Zaruba sighed in a disinterested tone.
Logan nodded as he recalled the day he was tasked with hunting down the Horrors. That day, he made another promise to himself; he would detach himself from the feelings he had in those simpler, happier times to keep him from feeling suffocated by his own grief and loneliness caused by his past and so that he would never consider having second thoughts borne from a sense of longing. At least, that's what he always told himself, and others.
"Master Logan".
Acting on reflex, he placed the picture frame facedown and turned to see a large minotaur standing 6'8 in the doorway. He had medium length horns, brown fur with eyes to match, and a tuft of dirty blonde hair atop his head that was neatly coiffed over. His attire consisted of a white dress shirt beneath a dark purple vest, a red neck tie, black slacks, and polished black dress shoes. His name was Efram Gough, or "Eff" for short. He served as Logan's butler, assistant, and aide du camp. In his hands he held a silver tray with a red envelope on it.
"Yo, Efram! What's the word"? Zaruba greeted.
"New orders", he answered.
Logan said nothing as he approached the Minotaur butler. He took the envelope and, after reaching into his pocket, he produced a strange looking lighter. The young man held the letter over the lighter and, upon flicking it on, a green flame popped up which consumed the letter. As the letter burned, several runes floated up into the air before organizing themself in a neat row in front of Logan. Running his eyes over the text, he quickly read through them as he pocketed his lighter. With a wave of his hand, the runes were dispelled just as soon as they had appeared.
"Looks like we don't even get a day off for the Extermination, eh partner"? Zaruba quipped as Logan took him off the stand and placed him on his right ring finger.
"It's not like we can complain about it", Logan sighed as he walked past Efram.
After descending down a flight of stairs to the ground floor, he went over to the coat rack by the front door and picked up the brown duster coat that hung from it.
"I'll be out for the next few hours or so", Logan called out as he put on his coat.
"So don't wait up for us, Eff"! Zaruba added.
"You'll be needing these then, sir", Efram said as he walked down the stairs.
In his left hand was a white handled Chinese Jian sword sheathed within a matching white scabbard with the same triangle symbol at one end. In his right hand was a golden yellow smartphone with a white stand handle attached to it.
"A knight is only as good as his weapons", Zaruba joked.
"Can't leave without those", Logan sighed knowingly as he took the weapons.
"I took the liberty of choosing the special ammo at random for you, sir", Efram stated as Logan attached the sword scabbard to the inner lining of his coat, "Along with adding 3 of your personal favorites, of course".
"You know me so well, Efram", Logan said as he placed the phone in his pocket.
After adjusting his coat, he turned around so that Efram could give him the once over. Upon seeing that the weapons were well concealed by the coat, the minotaur gave an approving nod.
"They'll never suspect you're armed, sir", Efram confirmed.
"That's what I always try to go for", Logan said with a nod.
"That everything we need"? Zaruba asked.
"Keys and wallet"? Efram inquired.
"Check", Logan said, patting his right breast pocket, "Shouldn't be too big of a hassle so I'll take my car".
"That and the Hornet's low on gas", Zaruba added, "Might wanna make a note of that for later".
"Can I persuade you to take a sandwich with you before you go, sir"? Efram offered.
"I'll get drive through", Logan replied simply, "Make sure Kennedy is fed while I'm gone".
"Of course, sir", Efram nodded as Logan headed out the door, "Happy hunting".
"Thanks, Eff", Logan said as he shut the door behind him.
The young sinner then made his way over to the attached garage on the right side of the house. After pulling out his keys, he clicked a button on a small remote that made the garage door start to open. As the inside lights flickered on, there on the far-right side was a 1951 Black Hudson Hornet Sedan. Next to it, on the left, was a Black 70s Camaro with white racing stripes and off-road modifications.
Logan proceeded to go into the garage, and got inside the car. He then proceeded to buckle up and, as he stuck the keys in the ignition and turned on the engine, the motor gave off a sort of bestial noise. After putting the car in drive, the young sinner slowly drove out of the garage. Once he was far enough away, he closed the garage door with the handheld remote on his key ring. He then drove down the driveway in a short burst of speed, nearly missing the bodies that were stacked against the end of the driveway like sandbags. With the current grimdark scenery passing before his eyes, he couldn't help but let out a depressed sigh.
"Just another glorious day in Hell, eh partner"? Zaruba quipped.
"I'd say this is about as good as it's ever gonna get, so why bother hoping for anything more"? Logan replied morosely as he picked up speed and sped further down the road.
A/N: Here it is! The start of my first M-Rated story. I'm pretty excited about this, ngl. I'm still new to the Garo fandom, as well as the Hazbin Hotel/Helluva Boss fandom, but I love
them all the same. Also, the inserted song is the song Rekka plays on her flute. I tried my best to match the pace of the cadences. She of sings the cadences for the flute at the beginning, then the rest of the music starts at the last part and continues til the "End Song" part. It is what it is.
Also, in case you were curious, here's the VA choices for my OC's and Zaruba;
Logan: Johnny Yong Bosch
Efram: Keith Silverstein
Zaruba: Eric Vale
Another important note is that the aesthetic for Logan's car is Bumblebee's alternate mode from Transformers Rise Of The Beasts. Except instead of Yellow and Black, Logan's car is Black And White.
Anyway, hope you guys like it. Be sure to tune in to the next chapter!
Get excited!
