A/N: In memory of the 52 who lost their lives and to the many others who survived but whom still live with the mental scars. We must never forget such horrific and tragic events.

While I have tried my best to research and keep it as accurate as I can there will be inaccuracies at times to fit in with the narrative and the context of the story. There will be a mixture of all the different survivor stories all merged into one in this fic. Some plot holes at certain points in the fic will result because of this, Take what you will.

The early morning sun shone down the metal grey pillars of the 7/7 Memorial, it's rays illuminating brightly, leaving faint shadows on the ground

Around him, birds tweeted their morning song as they flew above him, perching on a nearby tree

The sound of distant traffic was drowned out by the birds

But for Kyle it was as if the city had fallen silent.

He stood alone in front of the simple yet striking memorial, his eyes tracing the letters etched in the cold metal

7 July 2005, 08:50. King's Cross

Each Pillar was a reminder of the lives lost that fateful day

One pillar for every life that had been lost that morning twenty years ago.

He had been in London on that particular morning in 2005

He knew the weight of that day all too well.

"You didn't let them die in vain," he murmured to himself, as if the words might bring him some peace.

The memorial before him wasn't just for those who had perished, it was a tribute to the resilience of the city, the people, and to him.

Kyle's thoughts were interrupted by the sound of a distant siren, the familiar wail of an ambulance racing somewhere

A warm breeze blew across his face, but Kyle didn't feel warm, he felt cold.

Shivers ran down his spine as he was taken back to the summer day that changed his life forever

A/N: A short one to begin with! To those of you who read I'm Sorry as well prior to this it's implied that Kyle has since accepted and moved on that he couldn't save everyone in the Piccadilly mission. He now has grown and realised that it's not about one life but it's about all the others in return like Price said in the other fic. It took him some time but he realises now.
