Chapter 3: New Vampire Lord

Soon after the three men coming from outside enter through the glass window Ellie looks at them. At that moment she hear Bill in her ear come telling her to get out of there, because the newcomers are not human. Ellie smiles at the fact that finally the vampires that they were looking for have shown up.

"So… I guess that you boss is behind all this." she said while looking at them "Finally I can have a good fight…" the guard was surprised by the new intruders that just got in as well. They don't know who they're so one of them points his gun toward them.

"Who the hell are you too? Are you with her?" asked one of the guards, but before he could do something one of the vampires threw a knife toward him. The knife hit the guard in his chest, killing him even though he was wearing body armor. Winston guards don't know anything about the vampires their boss is working with, so they don't need witnesses.

"Kill her." yell the leader of the vampire to the other two.

"But the order say-" start one of the vampires beside him.

"I know what the orders are… but she is dangerous so we're going to end this here and now."

One of the vampires quickly moved toward her. Ellie pushes the guard that she was holding forward to distract the vampires as she takes her two big daggers out.

"Bill?" she said while getting ready to fight. "Bill, they go after the computer… did you-" The vampire leader moves fast to the computer and destroys it with his own dagger. "Bill!"

" don't worry… I got what I needed… so just get out of there. You don't need to fight them."

But Ellie did not want to leave. "I know that they're behind this… if I let them live they will move the kids and tell their boss about me." she said before blocking one of the vampires.

The other guard starts shooting at the vampire leader in panic. But before he hits him the vampire moves fast and ends up behind him. "You incompetent fool." said the vampire before showing his fang and biting the guard on the neck and starting to drink his blood.

On the other side of the room, Ellie was fighting the other two vampires. They were fast and stronger than other vampires, but her training with Joel and her ability as a hunter was enough to fight them back with not too much effort. But as she continues the fight she notices that these vampires are not regular ones. They were well trained and strong, so they must be an especial elite or something like that. As the fight continued she managed to block and dodge their attack, but her shoulder was starting to hurt, so she needed to finish this fast. After blocking a few charges from them, Ellie manages to kick one of them away and use the distraction to stab the other on his leg. As the dagger was blessed with holly power the vampire leg started to burn it, giving her the chance to take her gun out and shoot him in his chest.

The ultra violet bullet penetrates the vampire and turns him into aches. "Stop playing with her and kill her." said the leader as he went for the other guard on the floor and bit him too to make sure no witness would be left alive. The other vampire goes after Ellie with his speed. Ellie shot at him but he was fast and dodge the bullets. Then he kicked her hand, knocked her gun off and sent her toward a wall.

"Ellie get out of there… the rest of the guards are coming you way and probably more vampires."

"I can handle this… the vampire just killed the guard that came here so I-" she was saying in a lower tone, but the vampire she was fighting was close enough to hear her.

"She is with someone else…" said the vampire before attacking her again.

"Just kill her… we can find-" the leader starts but stops and covers when Bill drone shows up in the broken window and shoots at him. Ellie uses the distraction to stab the vampire close to her on his side as the vampire starts to scream in pain she kicks him toward the line of fire of the drone and he gets killed instantly. The leader looks at her furiously but has to move fast when the drone shoots at him again. Even though two vampires were dead, the other one looked stronger than the others. She thought that she could take him, but her shoulder started to hurt more and she didn't know for how long she could fight like that.

"Ellie, there are five more guards on that floor and they're getting closer to the office… you need to get out. I will cover you." At that the drone launched two smoke grenades. As the room starts to get covered by the smoke Ellie can hear the footsteps of the guards outside. Even though she wanted to kill the motherfucker, but in the condition she is now she can't fight him and the guard at the same time. So for now she will listen to Bill and get out. Ellie starts to run toward the broken window and jumps. She grabs the drone's lower part and this one starts to fly away from the building.

The vampire moves to the broken window and watches her fly away. "This is not over… I know who you're now." he yelled. Ellie looks back before disappearing behind another building. She feels bad for not being able to kill the last one, but she knows that she will have another chance. The problem is that the vampires will know that she is on them and for now on they need to move carefully on this.

The security guards from inside the company arrive at the entrance of the office. "Whatever is in their surrender now or will be forced to open fire." The vampire looked toward the door but as the room was still covered in smoke they couldn't see him. He could kill them all, but he does not have time for that now. He needs to go back to his master and inform him about the girl. Besides, those men work for Wilson and he works with his master, so it is better if he doesn't kill them all. The night was almost over, and he couldn't stay there. He needed to get out before the sun came out and he was not able to get out from the streets. So he decided to jump out of the window before the guard saw him.

The drone goes down closer to the van and Ellie jumps down before it lands on the roof of the van. Bill quickly starts the van and opens the door for her. "Get in… we need to go." they can hear the police sirens as they get closer. Ellie quickly went in and as soon his drone was secure on the box on top of the van he drove off in the opposite direction. After they were away Ellie spoke.

"Did you get the information we need?" she asked while the sun was coming out. That was good, because it means that the vampire will not come after them.

"I don't know until we get back to the hideout, but I think we get enough," he said before turning his head toward her. He saw her touching her shoulder and the blood in his finger. "I guess that it opened again."

"Is okay… it doesn't hurt much. But we have a problem now, one of them lives and he probably will tell his master." She lied because it hurt like hell. After a few minutes she spoke again. "But now we know that the vampires are involved in this… I bet they want those kids for food." the thought if that makes her sick. She knows that some vampires have a taste for blood from virgins girls, so that is why some of them like to attack young kids for that. Is more difficult to find adults that are still virgin these days, so the vampires that like that mostly pay large amounts of money for them.

"We will deal with that later… but what you said about the kids is true. Why risk kidnapping kids that will attract more attention to them." said Bill while continuing driving.

"I don't know, but it seems that the vampire lord in charge here has some tastes. So we need to act fast before it is too late."

(A few hours later in Victor's mansion.)

Victor was in his studio drinking a cup with blood on it and looking out of the window. The sun was out but his window was made to block the sunlight, so that way the sun did not affect him.

"Are you sure that it is safe to stand there, master? Those glass windows are not 100% safe." asked his closer servants.

"Probably not. But I trust that your people do a good job on this." he takes a sip of his cup as he looks at the garden outside. "Any news from the trackers? We need to make sure that the cargo will be safe and ready to go next week."

"No news of them yet… but Mr Wilson has gone to the port to see if things are good there."

"Good… what about the girl I ask for?"

"The girls are taking care of her… she will be ready for dinner as you request."

The vampire turns around and looks at his servant. "Excellent…" he drank the rest of the blood before putting the cup on top of a table and walking toward his servant. "Do you think what David said about the prophecy is true? I mean about the person that will be born to erase all our weaknesses?"

"I don't know my lord… is not my place to talk about that."

"C'mon Malvin. You know that you're more than a servant to me. So I want to hear what you think about that prophecy." the vampire said before putting one hand on his shoulder. "David was always crazy for power… even before he left the high council. But he studied a lot of our history and even though he was an asshole, he was a powerful vampire. But he was arrogant too and his obsession for revenge was what took him to his grave." Victor moves away from his servant.

"I don't know what to say, Master… I didn't know Lord David that much. Or of that prophecy being true."

Victor walked toward his desk and sat there. "Even so, if that prophecy is true it could change everything for us. Imagine a world where we can walk out in the daylight? If that can become a reality we can move and take control of those pathetic humans without being in the shadows."

"That can be really interesting Sir… But what about the hunters? If what Mr. Wilson said is true, and the one he saw is the one that killed David… that will mean trouble for us."

The vampire looked at him. "I don't believe that girl in the warehouse was her… but if he saw some hunters there we would have to deal with them. We already sent the trackers and they will find them. What I really need is this shipment to go out without a problem. Some important people are waiting for it back in England. And with David dead, they're worried, so we can't fail."

The servant moves closer to the desk. "I know you wanted the young girl, but why send the other to England? you can keep the rest and make better use for them."

"Yes I can do that… but maybe it will be better to ship them too. I know that some of those kids will make happy at least one or two of the council happy. And that can open a lot of doors for me there and here, especially after David is gone." At that moment someone knocked at the door.

"Enter…" said Victor while looking at the door.

The door opens and a man gets inside. "Sorry to bother you Sir. But one of the trackers you sent out has returned."

"Great… send him here." he said the the security man

"I will be attending to my other duties if you don't need me… Master." said the servant before walking out of the room.

A few minutes later the guard came back with the vampire tracker behind him. He let him in before closing the door. "Why are you back so soon… Saros? I thought that you and your men would be out longer looking for those supposed hunters."

The vampire kneels before him and lowers his head. "Sorry to bother you with this so soon master, but we followed some clues about the girl and I think that we found the girl we're looking for." he waited for his master to say something, but as he didn't he continued. "We follow her to Mr. Wilson company building and she manages to get into his office. I think she was trying to get some information from his computer, I destroyed the thing but she managed to kill my two companions and escape." The vampire stopped when he saw his master's furious face.

Victor was not only unhappy about the news, but also furious about it. "Are you fucking kidding me?" he said before standing up and walking toward the vampire. He grabs him by his neck and raises him up "Are you telling me that they know about the Wilson operation? And you let them escape?" he said with a furious tone.

"Sorry master… We tried to kill her… but she was… fast… but I destroyer… the computer… she can't get nothing from it." he said with some difficulty.

"That is not enough for me. If they got something from Mr. Wilson's computer I can't take any risk… if I lose that shipment I finish." Says Victor before moving his head toward him. "I want you to go to the port and make sure our security there is ready. If she finds out about our operation with Wilson that is the first place they will look. I want them to be stopped… but if it is possible I want that girl alive. If she was the one that David was after I wanted to know how she managed to kill him." he said before throwing the vampire down to the floor. "Now… get out of here before I change my mind and kill you myself."

"Yes… master, " said the vampire before standing up and walking to the door. Soon he was out, Victor called his servant.

A few minutes later his servant showed up in his office. "I don't trust those trackers to keep the ship safe… I want you to organize a group of you best men and find the hunters. I want the girl alive if possible . The rest you can do whatever with them." The servant bowed in front of him, then he walked out of the room. Victor moves to his desk and trashes everything it was on top of it. "Arrrrrrggg!" he screamed. I don't know what we have to do to get rid of those hunters. I thought David took care of them centuries ago… So I don't know how they are still out there? He said before sitting on his chair. I wonder if the prophecy that David was talking about was really true. And there is someone out there that will help us to take over this world."

When Bill and Ellie got back to their hideout, it was already morning. Ellie tells Bill to work on the information they get from Mr Wilson Computer while she goes and takes care of her open wound. Bill wanted to help her with that, but Ellie needed him to work his magic as fast as he could. If the teens were going to use it as food for the vampire they don't have too much time to find them. After Ellie dressed her wounded shoulder, she wanted to go out of the room and try to help Bill. but her body was all stressed out and in pain. She did not wanted to be admitted, but she needed some rest. They have been on the hunt since Bill and her arrive in the city without rest and now that they finally know they're there she needs to be ready to fight. After taking some pill for the pain she lay down on the couch and closed her eyes.

Ellie does not want to sleep too much these days. Her mind always takes her back to David's place. Why does she always have nightmares about him? Yeah, he was powerful and was the one that killed her father. But he was dead now, so why is he still hunting her? She was expecting another bad dream, but as soon as she fell asleep. Her mind takes her to another place.

(A few years back.)

"Ellie, are you in position?" asked Bill from inside his van.

"Yeah… I'm in position." answer Ellie from inside a room in a motel in Colorado. Ellie was standing beside the glass window hiding while she was looking outside. "Are you sure that this is the place where those girls disappear? I know that the boss sent me here with you because he thinks I'm not too good to be a cop."

"Don't be too hard on yourself. The information that they give us looks good. We just need to find out what is going on here."

"Yeah… that is what they said last time and we got nothing. It was just a way to test the rookie and I started to get sick of that."

"Mayne if you focus on the job and stop trying to find who kill you father… they will take you serious. I know that you father's death affects you but you need to move on. You father would like that for you."

"You know that I can do that… I became a cop to find the killer and you told me that you wanted to help me… so help me."

Let's talk about that later, okay? Now let's do our job here. The information said that a group of young men come here every Friday night with some girls and stay here all weekend. One of those girl that disappeared was seen here a few weeks back so those men are our primary suspect."

"Well, I hope this information goes well this time. We have been here for the past two weeks and nothing. Maybe we're in the wrong motel."

"Be patient… I know this is the right place, they will come here sooner or later… so let's give them a little more time."

"I hope you're right… or I will go out for a drink very soon. Anyway… I wanted to know where you went last month before this mission? I call you and you never-" Ellie was saying before stopping when two cars arrived at the motel. "Someone has arrived… two black cars. Check if you find something on their plate." Ellie grabs her binoculars and waits for the car to park on the side of the motel. The Motel has a L shape, so she can see the back of the cars from her position. Soon the men with some women start to get out of the cars. Ellie starts to give Bill the plate number of the two cars. "Let me know if you find something. They look like drunk men with some prostitutes to me."

"Okay…" he said while looking at his computer. "Did you hear about the massacre in the Obi Wan Club? Some people said that they saw an old man walking out of the place after some men there were killed." he said while continuing looking for any information.

Ellie just rolled her eyes as she remembered seeing the news on the TV. "You can't always believe what people say in the news. Do you really think that an old man takes out all those men in that clubs?. Besides, the police never mention any dead body found in the crime scene or anything like that." said Ellie while watching the men and women go inside to one of the rooms.

After a few minutes Bill talked again. "Okay, one of the plates belonged to Martin Shaw's son Marvin. His father is a respectable lawyer in this city, so the boy looks clean. The other car belongs to Carl Jonson. Both of them go to the local college here in Colorado. I don't have anything on any of them." said Bill, a little disappointed.

"Great… another false alarm…" said Ellie before closing the curtain and walking toward the bed and lay there. "We're wasting time here… Bill." said Ellie frustrated. "If we don't get anything by the end of the weekend, we better call the captain and tell him that we didn't find anything here. " Ellie closes her eyes for a moment even though they are supposed to be watching for any suspicious person that comes to the hotel. Ellie has been a cop for almost a year and she doesn't know anything about vampires yet, but she never expects that all that will change today.

Half an hour later and not to be noticed by Bill or Ellie a black Mustang parked behind the motel. After a few minutes a man got out wearing a long coat and a cowboy hat. Slowly he walked in the motel corridor and went toward the room where the young men were staying. Soon the man got there and he stops at their door and knocks. "Room service." said the man with a nice tone. He knocked again when the people inside didn't respond. The music was getting louder inside, so he yelled again.

"Get the fuck out of here… we don't ask for any room service." said one of the young man inside. He was dancing in his under where with one of the girl, while his other two friends where on the bed fucking with the other two girls they came with.

Joel can here the moan of the girls even with the loud music. "Sorry for bothering you… but the other guests are complaining about the loud music-" the old man starts but stops when the door opens and one of the young men points at him with a gun.

"Look grandpa… we're having a party here… so it will be better for you to get lost." he said before trying to close the door, but the old man put his foot on it so he couldn't. "Man… you really have balls… Do you know who we're?"

The old man turned his head and looked inside. On the bed he saw the other two men fucking the two woman while sucking their blood from their neck. "Yeah I do… unfortunate for you I'm the man that has been taking care of garbage like you." Without waiting time, the old man grabbed the hand of the young man where he had the gun and broke it. The woman behind him scream and run toward the bathroom.

"Ahhhhh…" the young man screamed before getting kicked back inside. The old man closes the door, before the other two stop sucking the girls and turn their head toward the man. All of them there were naked except for the one that opened the door that was wearing his underwear.

"You're going to pay for this… old man." said the young man on the floor. The other two push the woman away from them and take a more grotesque vampire form. They jump out of bed and go after the old man. But before they get closer the old man takes out a shotgun and shoots at one of them that turns into ashes in seconds. The other one kicked the gun out of the old man and started to fight him. "It is you…" yells the vampire on the floor with a scary face.

The old man pushed the vampire that was on him away and took out a machete. The vampire moves fast, but as the room was small they don't have too much space for that. The room has blood every way from the two girls that were on the floor now dead. The one on the floor used the distraction to crawl toward the door, but that didn't help him much as the old man saw him and threw a knife toward him. The vampire screams as he gets hit with it. The other one try to use the old man's distraction to attack him, but as soon as he gets close the old man turns fast and cuts his head up with the machete.

Soon the other vampire saw it and he went into a panic. "Ohhh… Please don't kill me… my dad has a lot of money… he can pay you." he started while crawling back on the floor. He saw his gun and grabbed it.

Back in her room Ellie opens her eyes at the sound of a shoot. "What the fuck?" She said before quickly getting up from the bed and grabbing her weapon. She can hear screaming outside and as soon as she opens the door, she sees a few people running away in the parking lot. "Bill!... what is going on here?" she said while touching her ear piece com with her fingers and walked outside with her gun on her other hand.

"I don't know… I just hear some shooting and a lot of people screaming.?"

Then she hear more shots coming from inside the room where the young men were. "Someone is shooting from inside the young man's room." said Ellie before running toward the room. "Get to the other side of the motel… now!" Ellie yells to the people running around.

"Ellie be careful, I just called the police and they're on the way."

"I'm going in…" said Ellie with her gun in both hands. Soon she got there, Ellie kicked the door open and looked inside. "This is the Police…" she yelled before seeing a man getting out from the back window.

"Hey… stop right there." she said pointing her gun at him. The man stops and looks at her. Ellie looks around and sees the two women dead on the floor. Blood was everywhere, but not the singing of the young men. "What the hell happened here? Did you kill them?"

"This is not what you think…" he said looking at her. "But let's say that I did you a favor."

"What the hell do you mean? Where are the men? And why did you kill those women?" said Ellie while walking slowly toward him. "You're under arrest… so don't move."

"Sorry about the girls… I was too late to stop them. But you will understand soon enough." Soon he said that the door of the bathroom opened and a woman ran out screaming. Ellie looks at her and before the woman jumps at her and tries to bite her. "Good luck girl… have to go."

"What the hell?" she saw her face as she tried to bite her. Ellie uses her gun to stop her. "Get off me…" after a few minutes Ellie managed to push the woman away. She shot her on her chest but the woman just stayed there like nothing. "What the fuck?" the woman moved to attack her again. But in seconds she hear a gunshot and the woman starts to turn into dust.

Ellie didn't understand what the hell happened. But soon after that she hear Bill's voice. "Are you okay?"

Ellie turned her head and saw Bill standing there. "Bill? What the hell just happened?"

Bill moves closer and helps her to stand up. "I will explain it later… but right now we have to clean this." he said, moving toward the girl.

Ellie looks at him as he checks the girl's neck. Bill what is all this… there are no bodies and that woman… she look… she look like-"

"A vampire? Yes she was… as those girls were their food." he said before getting out a wood stick. As I said I will explain all later… now we need to make sure these two poor girls don't turn and the local police arrive." Ellie watches him as he stabs one of the girls in her chest. "The one that killed the vampire, did you see him?" he asked while moving to the other girl. "It was him… right?"

"You mean the old man from the club?" Ellie said, still not believing what happened there.

"Yes… did he say something before going? His name or anything else?"

"Just that I will understand soon enough… Bill what the fuck is all this… you knew about this all along?" she asked as he stabbed the other girl.

"As I said We have a lot to talk about…"

That was the first time she saw Joel, but she didn't know his name back then. She encounters him a few times after that. After that day Bill told her everything about the vampires and that he was hunting them down. Bill doesn't know much about Joel back the, just like he was hunting them too.

(Back to the present)

Ellie opens her eyes, not knowing how long she sleeps. But remember the first time

She saw Joel and found out about vampires was something she was never going to forget, even if he left a mess there. She does not want to admit it, but she misses him even if he was an asshole and never told her anything about his past. So she didn't know she hated him or wanted him back. It was his choice to leave and she can't change that. But all that can wait, she needs to find those kids, especially now that she knows that vampires are behind this.

Ellie gets up from the couch and touches her shoulder. The pain is still there but is more tolerable now. So she got up from the couch and walked to the door. Soon she got out of the room and saw Bill working on his laptop in an old desk. Ellie walks toward him and stops beside the desk.

"What do you have?" she asked while sitting on the desk corner.

"Not much yet… This man has a real mess in his computer or was very smart in trying to hide his underground business." Bill raises his head and looks at her. "Did you get any sleep?" He knew that her nightmare was getting worse since Joel was gone and that she didn't sleep much.

"I think… I don't know how much I was out, but I didn't have any nightmares if that is what you were worried about."

"That is good… it's been like four hours since we came back, so I'm glad that you slept all that time. I buy some Chinese food if you're hungry… it's over there." he said pointing to a small table behind him. "You better eat something… before we go back to action."

"I'm not hungry, but thanks." Ellie wanted to find those teens so desperate that she no longer felt the urging to eat. But at that moment her stomach started to make some sounds. Bill looks at her knowing that her stomach betrays her. Ellie rolled her eyes as soon she saw his face. So before he said something, she got up from the desk. "Fine… I will go and eat something, and when I finish I want to see some results on you search." After eating, Elie moves to another part of the old building and starts to practice with her wounded arm. She was throwing some knife to some target she put there. It still hurt a little but it was getting better.

One hour later, bill spoke again. "Hey Ellie, I think I got something…" he said while looking at the information on the screen.

Ellie quickly stops practicing walks toward him. "What did you get?"

"I finally found a few files here that could be interesting. Wow… this man has a lot of criminal deals here, I don't know how the police are not into this guy yet. But so far I can't see anything that has a connection with the vampires here."

"Maybe because he doesn't know what they are… yet." She moves to the side of the desk and crosses her arm in front of her chest. "He has to be working with them, because he was the one making the transaction. So one of those business deals has to be with the vampire." Ellie knows that vampires like to blend into high society and cover their tracks by doing business with high criminals or important business men. "You said that you got something… so what is it?"

"Well, besides all those illegal things he does, the only thing that makes sense for the vampire to be using this guy is the trade company… He has a ship in the port that delivers material and other things out of the USA. So Mr. Wilson has been exporting things to England and Europe for the last two years." said Bill with a curious tone.

"England? What possible things he is sending there? If I remember well, none of the export companies in this part of the US have any agreement to export anything to England. So what possible things they are sending there?" Ellie starts but soon realize what they're been exporting there. "People… Motherfuckers… They are exporting people." That makes Ellie more furious. She moved closer to bill and looked at the laptop screen."Did he have any ship ready to depart on the port?" Ellie put one hand on Bill's shoulder.

Bill starts to check the files looking for any information he could have on the export company's new shipment. Most of the file where corrupted because the computer was destroyed before Bill finished his download, but he got enough information to work with. "Okay, they have a new ship… that arrived from Europa last month. The ship is called the 'Court Express' and if the information is correct here, his departure date is scheduled for next week."

"So they must be using Wilson ships to send their people… and if they are ready to go… the teens probably have been taken there."

"If the vampires that attack you in the Wilson office know now who you are. They must know now that we know about Wilson business. So they will assume that we will find out about the shipment… so they probably will double the security there." Bill knows that they probably will make a trap for them, but he knows that that will not stop Ellie.

"Where is this ship? We need to get there as soon as we can. If they know that we know about the ship, they will try to move it out sooner. So our best chance is to get there before that ship departs." said Ellie before moving away from Bill and going to another table that had a lot of weapons and gadgets on it.

"You know that they will probably be waiting for us to show up there… right?"

"That is why we should not disappoint them." said Ellie while putting on her chest armor and her long coat.

"Okay… I will get the rest of the thing ready…" he said while closing his laptop and standing up.

Ellie starts to grab everything she will need and can carry. They know that there is a possibility that they sent some vampires there. So she needs to prepare herself to fight them too this time. So she grabbed all the necessary weapons for that. After she finished putting her armor on, Ellie grabbed her katana and looked at it. She starts to think about the lesson Joel gives her after David. He was good with the sword and fast, but even though he taught her how to use it better she never will compare herself with asked how he learned to use it so well, but every time she asks him about his past. He just changed the subject and made her do more hard things to distract her. She hated that… and she really wanted to feel mad at him for leaving, but something inside her didn't really want to.

After 20 minutes, Bill was all ready to go. "Okay Ellie, if you really want to do this. we're ready to go… the port is just one hour from here. So it will be night when we get there. You know what that mean right?"

Ellie turns her head and looks at him. "Don't worry Bill… we can do this… so let go." She grabs the bag with the rest of her weapons and things and walks toward the van. Soon Ellie get on the passenger seat, she looks at Bill. "Let's hunt some vampires and free those people."
