Chapter 7: Recovering
(In another part of the city)
One hour early. The rolling door of the warehouse that Ellie and Bill were using as a hideout goes open and a car goes inside. It stops in the middle of the place and as soon as the engine stops, the driver doors of the car go open. A man goes out and moves quickly to the back door.
"Aquí mi amigo… dejame ayudarte…" said a man in Spanish.
"In English… please." said Bill as he started to move out of the car.
The Latin man rolled his eyes before extending his hands toward Bill to help him to get out. "Fine… Here let me help you… my friend." Bill lets the man help him as he does not have much strength to move well yet. They start walking away from the car, but Bill's body hurts a lot, especially one of his legs. But that did not matter much to him, his biggest concern now was Ellie. The police showed up a few minutes later after he sent Joel's brother and his wife to rescue Ellie. Of course he got away from where his van was in flames to avoid the police. He walked to another building close by and hid there. He called Juan, a friend of theirs here in the city to pick him up. Bill doesn't really trust those two as Joel never mentioned him when he was with them. But Joel never talked about his past so he didn't have much of a choice at that moment. They save his life and are the only one that can help Ellie, but now that he thinks about it he doesn't know how to contact them.
"Help me into the office over there… is a couch inside." said Bill while walking away from the car with the help of the man. Juan has been helping them gather information on the streets for almost a mouth. But Ellie and him have never brought him into their hideout. It was safer for him and them if he didn't know about the place.
"The doctor is on the way… I call him on the way here. Seeing how bad you ended up, I told him the address you gave me and told to come. I told him that you and the girl were in trouble after so he was glad to come. What the hell happened there? I have never seen you like this before. And Miss William… I know that you told me on the way here that she was aboard a ship… but what happens?"
"We learn that the vampire was kidnapping people… so we have a clue that a ship has been used for that… so go to the port… but it was all a trap… the ship departs with Ellie still on it. Now I need to repair the trailing I put on her to find her…" Juan opens the door of the office and helps Bill inside. "Thanks for going and picking me up, but we have a lot to do to find Ellie." Bill remembers the last time they got Ellie and he could do nothing… so he was hoping that Joel's brother got her out of there alive.
"Hey… is the least I can do after you and Miss Williams save my sister from getting bitten by one of those freaks… so anything for you man." Juan helped Bill into the couch. I will do whatever you need me to… so as soon the doc-" At that moment they hear a horn outside. "Hablando del diablo.. Ese deve ser el doctor… I will be right back." said Juan while walking away from Bill and going out of the room.
Juan goes to the entrance of the place and opens the rolling door to let the doctor car in. Soon the car stopped beside him, the doctor came out and Juan guided him toward the small room where Bill is.
"What the hell happened to you this time?" asked the doc before walking toward him. Albert walked close to Bill and put his thing on the floor. He started to check Bill's wound on his body until he saw the cut on his leg. "I hope the vampire that this to you ends up worse." Albert cuts his pants and starts attending Bill's wound while Juan goes out to keep an eye outside.
"Ahhhh… fuck doc that hurt." said Bill as the doc work on him.
"Where is Ellie?" he asked without looking at him. If she is not here with you I assume that something will happen to her… right?" he asked with a worried tone.
"She is not dead if that is what you think… we run into some kind of vampire trap and of course they try to kill us. I got some help from some people… but Ellie was trapped in a ship full with people that were kidnapped by the vampires. So can you hurry up? I need to work on what I have left here to help her."
"Sorry to hear that… but if you don't want to lose the leg you need to stay still." said the doc while looking at his face now. I know that you're worried about Ellie… I feel the same, but if you want to help her you need to take care of yourself first."
Bill didn't want to hear that, but the doctor was right. He needs to attend to his wounds first if he wants to help Ellie. He was hoping that they would get out of the ship somehow, after seeing those two fight on the dock. So the only thing he needs to do is to find them. It took some time for the doc to attend to all Bill's wounds.
Soon the doctor finishes and moves away from Bill, he tries to get up. "I need to work on how to find Ellie… do you think that my leg will be okay?" said Bill as he tried to hide the pain on his leg.
The doctor was packing some of his things on the table there. Albert looked at him with an unbelievable expression. "I understand that you're worried about Ellie, but should stay on that couch for a while. You leg is not going to heal properly if you start to move around." said the doc as he finished his packing. He takes out a little pill bottle and throws it to him. "Here, this will help with the pain."
Bill catches it and opens "Thanks doc… but you know that I can't do that… I need to find Ellie, so I don't have time to waste." he said while taking a few pills down his throat.
Juan Garcia has been helping them since Ellie saved Juan's younger sister from a vampire attack a few days after they came back to Boston. After his sister was safe, Juan decided to help them by keeping his eyes open on the streets. Dr Albert Marcus was another story. He knew them when Ellie and Bill were still in the police department. Before they go to Jackson, a woman was taken to his clinic after being bitten by something. The person that took her there thought that the woman was attacked by a rabbit dog or something. So the doc attended to her.
But the bite was strange and a few hours later the woman died. Dr, Albert calls the police and informs them that a woman died in his clinic after she was bitten by something. As it was late the police said to keep the woman there and they will send a police officer there and the forensic guy to collect the body as soon as they can. The doctor put the dead woman in one of his exam room and waited for the police to show up. in the middle of that the woman woke up and tried to bite him. He manages to kill her and call the cops. But a few hours later he hear a glass go broken inside the room and when he went inside the body was gone. As the window was broken, he thought that someone was taking the body.
But the doctor soon will learn that that wasn't the case. The police and forensic man show up a few hours later. The doctor told them what happened but they just questioned him about who wanted to steal a dead body from a small clinic. A few days later the doctor was called by a friend and told him that his son was acting weird for a few days then fell sick. The doctor goes to his friend's house to check the young teen, but discovers that he has the same bite the woman in his clinic has. While he was checking the boy, he woke up and attacked him. The boy looked poses and his fangs were big and he was trying to bite him. The boy's father came to help him, but the boy attacked him too and killed him. He would be dead too if it wasn't for Ellie that showed up in the house and killed the boy. After she explained everything to him, he told her that he will help her. That promise still stands today.
"So are you telling me that the vampire in this city has her?" asked the doc while sitting in a chair at the table.
"I don't think so… nut the two people that are supposed to get her out of there. I don't hear from them… They must take Ellie with them but if Ellie has not contacted me already, something must have happened to her." Bill try to get up again but can't. "Fuck… this is worse than I thought."
"Juan and I will do our best to help you to find her… I hear that some people have disappeared in the past few weeks and not only from Boston." he said sadly. "What I don't get is how the police are not doing anything about it?"
"We have the suspicion that some of them must be paid off to stay out of that… Even our boss didn't believe us when Ellie told him that we're innocent."
"Yeah, I was surprised about that myself. I know we have had some vampire problems here before, but you two were taking care of that. But after you get out of Boston, things start to change here in the city."
"Yeah, we can see that. As we can see most will be a vampire lord moving in the shadows… and he must have half of the city in his pocket. Most vampires work like that, influencing politics, the police and other government authorities and also rich people that could benefit from all this.." At that moment Juan opens the door and looks at both of them.
"How you feel man… you look a little better now."
"I will feel better when I find Ellie."
"So what can we do?" asked the doc.
"Yeah man… estamos aquí para ayudar… Just tell us what you need."
"Okay… first I will need a few things to repair my laptop and for a few other things… As soon as I repair my laptop, I can use the tracker program to find Ellie." he said while looking around. Juan… pass me some paper… I will make you a list of what I need."
"Seguro hermano…"
(The Vampire lord Mansion)
A few hours later, Victor was in his private office when he received a call from the vampire in charge of the trap they set for the hunters. A call that the vampire lord didn't take very kindling. "Are you saying that the hunters that you are supposed to capture in the ship go away?" He said before stood up from his chair with a furious expression. "What happened to the cargo? Don't tell me that we lose that too… because it is not going to be a place that you can hide when I go after you." he yells to the vampire on the phone.
"You don't need to worry Master… we manage to get the ship out of the port with the cargo intact. But the police showed up later and sent a patrol after us. But Mr. Wilson called us too and said that he will call his contact in the police and work on that." said the vampire with a scared tone.
"WORKING ON THAT!... ARE YOU KIDDING ME?" He almost threw the phone to the floor, but he needs to hear what the vampire has to say before going there and killing him himself. "Mr. Wilson is an idiot… I risk everything here because you said that you can take care of the hunters and now the police will be into this. If they stop the ship and discover what we have there my entire operation here will be over… and if that happens I will make sure that both of you suffer a painful death.
"You don't need to worry, master… the cargo will be secure. My men are there taking care of that. Mr. Wilson said that the ships have special licenses to travel around the world and no government can interfere with them. I will meet with the officer in charge of the boarding party in a few minutes and I will make sure all goes well for the ship to continue his course toward his final destination."
"I hope that what you are saying is true… or you and Mr. Wilson will end worse than those in those tanks. I have a lot to lose on that cargo and it is better that you resolve this fast."
"Don't worry Master… all will go as planned. I will make sure that the cargo reaches its destination safely." The vampire try to keep things simple. The last thing he needs is his master to know that half of his men were killed in the attack including the vampire warrior he sent there.
"It better be… now I want to know how those hunters escape the trap? I sent my best warriors to make sure they were captured." There goes the vampire desire to hide the details.
"Well master… we almost got the girl but the old man shows up with other hunters and helps her to escape. Lucky for us they don't care about the cargo… they just get out of the ship and disappear. The girl was back in shape, so I don't think she will be able to follow us after that."
"Other hunters?" he said before hearing a knock in the door.. "Just make sure the ship continues his journey… I will handle the hunters myself. I can't believe that all this trap thing was for nothing. Now I have to clear this mess with the police." The vampire hung the phone and threw it toward one of the walls. "Those fucking hunters… I'm going to make them pay for this." He was saying when the door get knocked again. "ENTER!". He yelled.
The door opens and his assistant enters the room. "Sorry to bother you master… but you have a guest waiting for you in the living room."
"A guest? I don't have any appointments for today… So who is it?"
"He didn't said, but he is demanding you present it down there."
"Demanding?" Victor almost yells at that. "I hope he is not a cop… or someone from city hall because I am not in the move to deal with them at this moment." The vampire lord walked out of the room and toward the living room. Soon he got there and saw the man looking at one of his paintings. "Now who the hell are you and what do you want here?" said Victor before the man turned around and looked at him.
"Hello Victor…" the vampire lord just opened his eyes wide as soon as he recognized the vampire in front of him.
(A few more hours later In another part of the city)
Ellie slowly starts to open her eyes and notice that she is lying in a bed. Her body was in pain, but she is a costume to that by now and pain means that she is still alive. Ellie doesn't know what happens after she kills that vampire warrior. She just knew that she made her move and the all got black in front of her. Is not doubt that the other vampires were not going to let her go, so why is she still alive or at least changing in a dark room? Just like David did when she was captured by his men. The room has poor illumination but it does not look like a prison or any other place that a vampire should put her. Ellie slowly tries to get up, but the pain on her entire body doesn't let her. The room light gets on and a woman starts to walk in from a metal stair.
"You should not try to get up just yet… you surfer a few several injured. And you will need a lot of rest before you can recover completely from that. Especially the one on you leg" said Maria as she walked into the small room.
Ellie quickly turned her head toward the woman. "Who are you? And what do you want for me?" said Ellie looking around and trying to find something she can use to defend herself.
Maria was curious about the girl and how she just survived on that ship. "You don't need to worry young lady… we're on you side." said Maria walking toward the bed with two cups in her hands. Maria attended the girl's wounds, but it still surprised her how fast she is recovering. "My name is Maria and we don't mean any harm to you." said Maria while trying to calm her down. "We're looking for someone and you partner told us that you can help us to find him. In the meantime you can drink this, it will make the pain a little less."
"Bill? Where is he and what do you do to him?" said Ellie while try again to get up.
"Relax girl… I'm sure he is okay. He was the one that sent us to find you on that ship… you're lucky that we arrived in time to save you."
Ellie looked at her but didn't take the cup the woman was offering. "We?" she asked knowing now that there is more than one person there. "Who the hell are you? And where is Bill?" asked Ellie before managing to sit up on the bed. Ellie looks at the table beside the bed and looks at the lamp there.
"That will not help you." Maria said as she noticed what Ellie try to do. Maria moved closer and put one cup on the night table. "I have to give you some credit. You still want to fight after you almost die on that ship. I wonder if you're like this before you met him. You're acting just like him… So how long do you two work together?"
"Acting like who?" Ellie still doesn't know what this woman wants from her. She has done nothing yet, but that doesn't mean that she is working with the vampires or for that Wilson guy. "Look, I don't know what you want, but I can tell you that whatever is, I will not help you."
"That is too bad, because I was starting to like you. Look I can see that you're confused and want some answer, but we're on the same side." Maria takes a sip of her tea before she speaks again. "As I said we're looking for someone… someone that you know. His name is Joel… Joel Miller."
Ellie was a little surprised to hear that name, especially from her. She is still not sure who this woman was or why she was looking for Joel. But something is sure, she is not going to tell her anything until she gets all this cleared up. "Look, I don't know anyone with that name and even if I do you will not get any information from me…" Ellie turns her head away from the woman. "You are going to torture me… go a head." Ellie crossed her arm on her chest. But I have to warn you, the last person that did that to me ended up dead."
"So you do know him… interesting," said Maria calmly.
Ellie turns her head and looks at her. "I didn't say that."
Maria laughed a little at her comment. She has to admit that the girl has spirit and courage. "You don't have to… I can see it in your eyes and in the expression you make as soon as I say his name. Look, we're not working for the vampires if that gives you some peace." Maria saw how Ellie turned her head away from her again. Maria moved close to the bed and sat on the edge. "You don't need to worry darling… we're not looking for him to harm him or you if that makes you feel better. As I said before, we're on you side." Maria said with a smile on her face. "Now, if you can help us to find him, that will be a great help for us." At that moment Tommy comes up to the room and walks toward the bed.
"Wow… how can she be awake so soon? I thought that she would be out for-" he started before getting interrupted.
"Joel?" said Ellie as soon as she saw the man that just entered the room "
"Shit!... You too? Why does everybody always mistake me for him?" he said with an annoying tone.
Maria turned her head toward him and smiled. "Do you need me to answer that?" Ellie stayed looking at him, but by his voice and his looks when he got closer Ellie realized that it was not him.
"You… looks like him, but younger, but you're not him." Ellie looks at Maria then Tommy. "Are you two related to him?"
Tommy moved closer and stood at the end of the bed. "I'm his brother and we're looking for him. I don't know who you are, but it really surprised me how you managed to survive on that ship. I saw how you killed that vampire warrior there… Did my brother teach you that move?" he said, a little curious.
Ellie looked at him but was no surprise to hear that he was Joel's brother. He looked so much like Joel but younger. "So you're Joel's brother? He never mentioned any family…" Well he never mentioned anything about his past so that did not surprise her. Ellie moved back and rested her body against the headboard of the bed.
"I expect that much from him… he and I went separate ways a long time ago. We have some family issues… if you wanted to know." Tommy moves to the other side of the bed. "Now my question is where is he?" he said with a more serious tone.
"Tommy…" said Maria softly. "Let her rest for a while, she needs time to recover… I don't think it will be good to-" Mara was saying when Ellie spoke again.
"Sorry, but if you two are looking for him… I don't know where he is." she said while looking at Tommy first then Maria. Ellie can say that this man is Joel's brother; he looks much like him, but who is this woman? " Are you Joel's wife?" she asked, feeling a little jealous. Joel never told her anything about his life, so this woman could be his wife.
"Excuse me?" Tommy protests quickly at the question.
Maria laughed a little at both Ellie's question and Tommy's reaction. "Oh god no… I'm Tommy's wife, Joel is like my brother in law. As you can see we're not from this country and we've been looking for him for a long time and so far you're the only lead we have on him. So we really need you help to find him. I know that you are still in pain after fighting all those vampires and guards, so can you help?"
"I don't know if I can really trust you two, but as I told you before, I don't know where he is."
"I told you… this was a waste of time… we should let…" Tommy started as he was getting frustrated. Look girl… I don't care if you don't trust us or not… Finding Joel is very important to us so why don't you tell us what you know? If he was with you when you killed David, you must know where he went."
Ellie was getting frustrated too. "You can ask me all you want, but my answer will be the same. Yes Joel and I fought David together and we spent a few months training and that is it… He never told me anything about his life… he said that he knew my father and was supposed to tell me everything he knew, but one day he was gone so we don't know where he went." Ellie said while trying to hold her tears.
"Tommy, can you go down stairs and see if we have something to eat?" said Maria calmly.
Tommy turns his sigh away from Ellie and looks at her. "Food? You want to eat-" he started but stop when Maria gave him a look. "Okay… I'm going but this conversation is not over." he said while walking down the stairs. He continues saying things but they barely hear him.
"Sorry about my husband… he can get a little intense sometimes," said Maria softly. "I believe you when you said that Joel left and didn't say anything… I guess he will always be like that. But if you remember anything that can help us to find him it will be good."
"Look… even if I wanted to help you… I don't know where Joel could be… But what I really need is to contact Bill and help those people on that ship." Ellie tried to get up again but Maria put one hand on her shoulder to stop her. "Are you seriously going to keep me here? I don't know where Joel is okay? And I need to get back… those kids need my help I… I can't… let the vampires kill them." she said the last part with a sad tone.
Maria shakes her head. "You're really someone special girl, can I call Ellie? That was the name you friend gave us. You will be free to go where not going to stop you… but look at yourself… Do you really think that you can go out there like that? Besides after what we did on that ship the vampire are going to be looking for all of us… especially you."
"So are we not going to do anything? I may be hurt, but I can still fight… I'm not going to let those vampire assholes get away with this."
"Maria looked at her with curious eyes. "You have some courage Ellie… I can see now why Joel shows some interest in you. Vampire has been growing for centuries, while hunters like us are not many left. It feels good to see some young blood trying to make the difference, but to be honest you should not be doing this… may that was why Joel left. Maybe he feels guilty for encouraging you into this life."
Ellie looks at her. Bill tried to do that at first. Make her choose another life, he told her that it was what her father wanted. "I don't think that that is any of your business but I'm doing this because I chose to… My father was a hunter and was killed by them and I even wanted revenge at first. I know now that someone has to do something about them." said Ellie while Maria looked at her face. "I'm a hunter because I want to help people and help to put an end to them."
Maria stays looking at her with surprised eyes. "That is a nice thing to say… I was like you when I started so I understand you motives of be a hunter. But you must understand the sacrifice you will have to make if you want to continue with this life choice."
"I know that there are a lot of things I don't know about the vampire and I was hoping that Joel will help me with that." she said a little sadly. "But he goes without telling me anything…" Ellie looks at Maria with hoping eyes. "But now that you two show up here maybe you can…"
"I don't think that you're ready for any of that girl… and if my brother doesn't tell you anything that makes me right." said Tommy as soon he showed up in the room with some food in his hands. Here you can eat this… and if you give us the information to contact you partner, I will call him to pick you up."
Maria stands up and walks close to him. "What about Joel? She can be-"
"No… we waste too much time on this. This girl does not know anything so it is time for us to go."
Ellie looks toward Tommy. "So that is it? Every time that I want to know more of the vampire or about all this you people just run? What about the people on that ship? Or the vampire that is trying to control this city? If any of that concerns you?" Ellie's tone was getting more furious. "All of you are not suppose to be hunters so why-"
Tommy passes the bag with food to Maria and moves closer to the bed. "You don't know anything about us and all the sacrifices we have made in our life… so don't try to judge us. You think that killing a vampire here will resolve anything? You-" Tommy was almost yelling, but Maria grabbed his arm to calm him down.
"You need to calm down… she doesn't know, so don't expect her to understand." said Maria softly. Joel didn't tell her anything but-" Maria was saying when two men entered the room with guns in hand.
"Neither of you move…" said Bill while pointing his gun toward Tommy and Maria. The three of them turn their head toward Bill and the man that was beside him.
"Bill!... Are you okay?" said Ellie quickly and happy to see him. "They told me on the ship that you're dead, but Tommy and Maria said that you send them to help me." Then she looked at his leg and all his bruises on his face and arms. "Are you sure you are okay?"
"Yeah… I'm okay girl, they need more than a few vampires and a lot of guards to kill me. The more important thing is how are you?" he asked with a worried tone.
The conversation was interrupted by Tommy. "It took you some time to find us… even with you tracking device… But what I really wanted to know is how you pass my security without me noticing and how you're walking?" said Tommy.
"Yeah… last time we saw you… you barely can walk." say Maria while looking at his leg too. "Now, I think that all here are on the same side, so you can lower the guns… no need for all this." added Maria before lowering her hands..
"All bad people said that… lady before trying to kill you… so don't try anything… you too," said Juan while looking at both of them. "Are you okay Miss Williams? We're here to rescue you."
"I feel better… thanks Juan. Now you two can lower you guns… I don't think they mean any harm and you already sent them to rescue me… is not that right?"
"I still don't trust them…" said Bill as lowering his gun. "Why don't you bring her to our hideout as soon as you get her out of the ship?" He signs Juan to lower his weapon too, before walking closer to the bed. What happened there anyway? I thought that the ship would be full of vampires and guards… all this was a trap just like we thought."
"Yeah… I know." Ellie said sadly. I fail those people… and the kids too. They got away and I could not do anything to stop them."
"You're alive Ellie… that is what matters more. I saw the coast guard go after the ship when the police arrived, so maybe they can do something." Bill sits on the edge of the bed and grabs her hand. We are still alive to fight another day… now that we know what they are doing here, we can try to find a way to stop them."
"Sorry to interrupt the reunion, but I think we have some issues to discuss. Like why do you lie to us about the girl knowing where Joel is?" Said Tommy.
Bill turns his head and looks at both Maria and him. "Sorry about that, but I really need you help to save Ellie… The thing is that we don't know where he is… we try to find him when he goes, but the thing is that we don't know practically anything about him.
"I told you… all this was a waste of time. Now the vampire knows that we're here and will send their own hunters after us." Yell Tommy before the walkway. "Get out of my way…" he pushed Juan away from the entrance of the stairs and got down. "How do those two pass my security anyway?" he said from downstairs, then they hear some things being trashed around.
"You have to forgive Tommy… we're hoping you can help us out." said Maria before moving away from the bed to leave some space for Bill. "I have more tea… do any of you want some?"
"I just hope no one follows you two here…" Yell Tommy from downstairs "Fucking rookies… they don't know how to do anything."
Maria looks at Ellie and Bill and decides to give them a little privacy. "C'mon… Juan is it? We have some vodka too if you prefer that." she said with a smile.
"You're not working with the vampires… right?" asked Juan.
"No… we don't." Maria put her arm around the man's neck and guided him out of the room.
Bill turns his head back to Ellie. "Damn girl… you scare the shit out of me… I thought that I was going… to lose you there."
"You don't look so well either… and what happened to you leg? What is that thing you're wearing?" she said while looking at it.
"Pretty cool hmm? I started to make it myself a few months back. I was almost finished when we get here, but didn't have the time to finish it." Bill stood up and showed it to her. Is a metal Frame. It will be the leg support.. I was thinking of doing full body armor with it, but…" he stopped when he saw some tiers on Ellie's eyes. "Sorry it took me too long to get here, but we can go now… if you can move of course." he said sadly.
"This is all my fault. You could die there Bill… and those people? Maybe they're right, I'm not good at this… even Joel said it when we're practicing."
"I don't think Mr. Miller thinks that… yeah I want you to quit this so many times because this is not the life you father wanted for you." said Bill while lowering his head. "I know that I told you that you father was a hunter because he told me when he was working with the police. But the truth is that I was working with him. I did for him what I do for you now…" he looked at Ellie's face. He knew that this was not a good time for this, but she needed to know why he act all protecting all the time. "I know that you are going to be mad at me for lie to you… but I was honoring a promise."
"Yeah… I should be mad at you for lie to me, but I knew how my father was and I bet that he made you promise him not to tell me… but I can't be mad at you, because I have the feeling that you knew more about him than what you told me." Ellie moved one hand and put it on top of his. "Now, you need to promise me that you will tell me everything you know about him when you're with him later okay?"
"Sure… but you need to recover first… the bastard destroying my baby… so we don't have much left. It will be better if we get out of the city for-"
Ellie gives him a look and makes him stop. "I'm not going to run now Bill… all those people on that ship… and the kids too. I fail them… But I will not let those vampires do that to anyone else."
Said Ellie with some determination.
"But they know now that we're after them. You hear what that Tommy guide said and he is right."
"I don't care Bill… we're going to find them and destroy their operation. They're destroying this city, but we're going to stop them."
Bill knows that look and knows that when she is up to fight no one is going to stop her. "Okay, but first you need to rest and get better. So let's get out of here… I don't trust these two. And the doc is in the hideout. He can check you wounds more properly."
"I don't think that I can move much. But I wanted to stay here for a while. Tommy is Joel's brother… maybe he can answer the questions Joel didn't."
"I know that you want some answers about what David said… But if Joel didn't tell you anything he maybe has his reason… So why do you insist on that?"
"Because I need to know the truth about what happened between my father and Joel. I know he knows him. I need to know the truth about who I'm… and if Joel didn't want to tell me maybe they will. Or maybe you know… since you work with him."
"Sorry… kiddo. I never saw Joel when I worked with him. Well I only worked with him for a few years and maybe Joel knew you father from before… I don't know. I just want you to forget what that vampire said to you. He was probably lying anyway to distract you or for you to fall into him."
"That is something I need to know for sure bill… and if They're looking for him it will be good to help them. If they don't have any answer for me about what David says, at least I can know more about Joel." Ellie said with some expectation about this. "Now, tell me all you know about my father and his hunter life."
(Back in Lord Victor Mansion)
The next day a boy was taken toward a room with his head cover. He was one of the teens Mr. Wilson brought to the mansion. At first they were supposed to be taken to the ship, but as a trap was prepared for the hunters, the vampire lord decided to keep them there. He already takes the young girl called Liza and turns her, but he also has some plans for the others too.
"Where are you taking me…" he said as he was guided into a corridor. "My dad is a police officer… you better let us go or-" he stopped when one of the men hit him on the head.
"Shoot you mouth kid… and stop whining… we don't care who you dad is. He can be the governor of this state… and we don't give a shit." said one of the men. A few minutes later they arrive at the room where the boy was supposed to be taken and stop in front of it. "Open the door Mark." one of the men ordered the other guard.
The other guard opens the door and they push the boy inside making him fall. "Enjoy you stay there boy… what will last… of course." They laughed a little before closing and locked the door.
The boy quickly took off the thing that was covering his head and started to look around the room he was in. The room was bigger than the one he has in his house and very elegant too. The room has a lot of furniture that looks like the ones a cattle has in movies. He looked at the big window at the end of the room and thought of using it to escape. But as soon as he stood up from the floor, he was surprised that it was a big bed and that someone was laying on top of it. The young man walked toward the bed until he saw the girl on it.
"Liz…" he said as soon as he got closer and recognized the girl. "Liz… are you okay? Did they do something to you?" he said moving into the bed and shaking her body a little to wake her up. The girl was wearing a red elegant dress and she had a black ribbon around her neck. After a minute the girl started to open her eyes and look at him. "Liz… is me Brandon… Are you okay?"
"Bra… Brandon?" said the girl in a lower tone as she trying to recognize his face.
"Yes… is me Liz." The girl sat up and he hugged her. "Is it okay… You don't have to be scared I'm here now." he said as the girl hugged him harder. After a minute they move apart. He looked around the room. "Why do those people bring us here?"
"I don't know… Do you know what happened to the other?" asked the girl.
"No… I think they drug us and bring us here… I remember a few things, but I don't remember where we are. You're the only one I see so far." said the boy as he moved off the bed. The girl looks at him and starts to feel something inside.
"I don't remember much either… but I'm glad that you're here." she said while getting off the bed too. The girl remembered being in a dark basement. She remembers being hot like a fever and that her body hurt a lot. But she doesn't remember to put the red dress on.
"Where do you think we're?" he said walking toward the window. He looks outside and sees the garden of the place and the mountain in the distance. "Do you think that we're still in Boston?"
The girl moves closer to him until she is on his side. "I don't know… this place looks so different… I'm so scared… Brandon…" she grabbed his arm with her two hands and moved closer to him. "I'm so glad that you're here. I don't know what those people want for us… or where our other friends are."
The boy turned to his side and put one hand on hers. "We're going to find them… okay? and get out of here… I promise. You know that my dad is a cop… he will find us and take us back home."
"Did you mean it?" The girl looked at his face, but something started to burn inside her.
Pleasure… is the best thing in life… and you can have a lot of it if you follow your inner feelings. You will feel hot inside and hunger… When that happens, just follow you instinct. She remembers hearing those words from someone.
The girl has a soft image of being with someone before. Someone that was nice to her, but she is not sure if that was a dream. Now being closer to her best friend was making her feel something inside that she could resist. After a minute… she started to look at him with lust and hunger. "Brandon… do you… want to kiss me." she said while looking him in the eyes.
"What!" said the boy looking at her. He doesn't know why she asked him that out of nowhere. He can't deny that he thinks about Liza a lot in school. He always thought that she was so beautiful and intelligent. But she always sees him as a friend and even though he likes that, he always likes her in a different way. But as he doesn't want to ruin their friendship, he never said anything to her, so why is she asking that now?
"Do you think I'm pretty? You are always there for me… and now I need you to be here for me again… I feel so scared…" She moves closer to him, but the boy put one hand on her shoulder to stop her.
"Of course I think that you're pretty, and I know you're scared too… but we're just friends, so why are you asking me to-" he started but the girl stopped him by kissing him. The boy quickly moved back a little. "Liz… I know that all this is hard for you… is for me too, but we've been holding prisoners here… so this is not a good place to-" again the girl moved closer and kissed him again. The boy tries to resist, but as the girl continues he can't resist anymore and kisses her back. Slowly Liza moves her hands around his neck while the boy moves his on her back.
After they break the kiss, the girl moves her head toward his neck and starts to feel the essence of blood there. "Ohhhh… Brandon… I need you so bad…" she said while pushing him slowly back to the bed. Soon they get there Liza pushes the boy on top of it and quickly moves on top of him. "You have always been so good to me… and I wanted to do this for a long time." Liza said in a sexy voice. Then she leans down and starts to kiss him again. Slowly the boy moved his hand on her back and started to pass his hand on her body. The girl was just a year younger than him, so he can't see anything wrong with this except for the situation they are in. But as they continue, the desire on both starts to get harder to resist.
Brandon grabs her arm and pushes her away a little. "Liza… we can't… do this… here." he said while trying to calm himself. "We can… wait until… my dad rescued us and-" he was saying but the girl interrupted him.
"I can't wait… that long… I need this… now." She sat up on top of him and grabbed the edge of her dress and slowly pulled it up. Soon the dress was gone, and the boy looked at her naked body with wide eyes. The girl looked at him with lusty eyes. "Take me… please… I need it." she lowered herself again and started to kiss him. Slowly the boy moved his hand and started to touch her naked body. He can't believe that his best friend wants him like that.
Two hours later the door of the room started opening slowly as someone got inside. Victor looked at the bed and smiled when he saw the two teens having sex. The girl was moaning as she moved up and down on the boy's lap.
"Harder… do it harder." the girl moans as she continues moving. The vampire lord stayed on the door and let the girl do what she needed to do on her own. He noticed that their climax was getting closer and closer and Liza could smell the blood on the boy's neck. Even Victor can smell it from his position in the room.
The boy wraps his arm around her as the girl moves faster and he hits her deeper inside. His heart was beating fast and his blood was pumping on his neck, "Liz… I'm close…" he said as he felt his seed coming up.
"Come inside me…" moans the girl before putting one hand on his head and pulling it to the side. A few seconds before the boy came, Liza's eyes turned red as she opened her mouth showing her now vampire fans. Soon the boy came inside her, the girl lowered her head and bit the boy in the neck.
"Ahhhhhhh!" the boy whined as he felt the bite and his blood started to be sucked. Victor moves closer to the bed and watches the girl sucking the boy's blood. Slowly he takes his clothes off and moves behind the boy.
"There is no better way to eat than this…" he said before moving closer to them. Slowly the girl moves her head away and looks at the vampire lord in the eyes. Her mouth was covered in blood, but she didn't seem to mind. "You did well my love… now let us have a second round."
The vampire lord pulls the boy toward him then bites the boy's neck and starts to suck his blood while the girl starts to move up and down in his lap again.
(Back to the Hotel room)
The next day Ellie woke up after resting a little bit thanks to Bill that insisted on her to get some sleep. She sat up and looked around but nobody was in the small room. She can hear some voices from downstairs. It looks like it was Bill having some kind of discussion with Joel's brother. She really wanted to talk to him and Maria about Joel, but those people on the ship were still fresh on her mind. Also she was thinking about what Bill told her about her father. She, still a little mad at him for lying to her all this time, but what he tells him is not helping her much. Ellie start to move her arms a legs and even that they still hurt, she feel a little better now
"Good morning… How… you feel today?" asked Maria as soon as she got into the room with two cups of tea.
"Hi… my body still hurts, but not so much." she said while seating more comfortably in the bed.
Maria walks closer to the bed and passes one of the cups to her. "Here… this will help." Ellie takes the cup and looks at it. Maria moved back and sat on the chair beside the bed. "I don't know if you like tea… but it will help you with the pain. I was really surprised to see you up after what happened on that ship."
She smiles a little as she remembers the first time Joel gave her something to drink and drug her. "You know… that the second time I saw Joel, he took me to a cabin and gave me some tea… much like this one."
"Really! That is weird. I thought Joel doesn't like tea much."
"I don't think he likes it… he loves coffee… but uses the tea to drug me." she said while looking at the tea.
"Wow… did he really do that to you? Why?"
"I was wounded fighting a few vampires, he helped me out and took me to the cabin when I went unconscious… When I woke up I wanted to leave but he told me that I needed the rest. He drugged me so I can rest." Ellie takes a sip of it knowing that Maria doesn't have any reason to do that to her. "This tastes good." she said with a sad tone.
"If you're thinking about those people on the ship… Don't be so hard on yourself… we saw what you're against and it is a miracle that you survived that." said Maria while looking at her. "I think you partner will train you well. Now I can see why Joel has so much faith in you. You're maybe young, but you have a strong spirit."
Ellie raises her head and looks at her. "I'm not sure about that… he not only left me. I let all those people down. I'm a hunter and I'm supposed to protect the people."
Maria stood up and moved to the bed and sat on the edge. She put the half empty cup on the table beside the bed and put one hand on hers. "You should not feel bad about Joel leaving… I was surprised to hear that he spent months with you. And about you ability as a hunter I bet he will feel proud in his own way." she said while squeezing Ellie's hand a little. "I understand you frustration and you are willing to help people. Not many people think that vampires are real, that is why they move in the shadows. Being a hunter is not an easy task, we can tell you. We're been hunting them for a long time, but we don't see the end of it."
Ellie turns her head and looks at her. "I know that you mention that you're not from this country and you ascent sounds different from Joel… So from what country you came?"'
"Where from England… we live there almost all our life, but we travel a lot around the world hunting vampires. I think Joel has been in this land for a long time, maybe that is why his ascent is more American. We look for him everywhere and America was the last place on our list. We have only been here a month and our only clue to find him was you."
"And how did you know that? It's not like we're out there telling people who we're or what we do."
"We found some information on the internet about an incident in a town called Jackson. So we started there. We found out about David and we knew that Joel was after him so we knew that he was here. Then we saw a wanted post with you and your friend's face, so we started looking for you."
"I'm sorry that he is gone already… but that makes me wonder why are you looking for him, if you haven't done anything about him for a long time? He talked about something coming and so was David… he never told me what it was but he told me that I need to be ready. He sounded really worried… so all that had to do of you two looking for him?"
Maria looks at her, not knowing what to tell her. If Joel didn't tell her anything about his theory or about the evil that will rise soon he must have his reason. But why tell her to be ready for it? It was strange that Joel helped her to kill David, but didn't tell her anything about the vampires. He spent a lot of time looking for the person that could end this war and put an end to the vampire, so why did he leave the girl after teaching her how to fight? She has the feeling that Ellie and Joel are connected somehow in the event that will come. Maria was going to ask Ellie something, but she didn't have that time as Tommy showed up in the stair and yelled.
"GET READY… WE HAVE COMPANY…"
