The next day, Sora told Goma that Miss Nugoro was going to be his new homeschool teacher, which made Goma happy to hear the news. They got Goma's room all set and clean for when Miss Nugoro was going to come and homeschool him two days from now, which she had to prepare as well, getting school utensils and learning books.
Taishiro, while glad he had a teacher now to teach him his education, was still worried about Goma's often bursts of random names and imagination coming out of his mouth. He didn't want Goma to make Miss Nugoro uncomfortable, but Sora reassured him that everything would be fine and that Miss Nugoro was a nice woman. Sora did think of maybe bringing Goma to a psychiatrist sometime soon, he just had to find the right one...but he could ask Miss Nugoro to ask him some questions since she said she has a degree in child psychology.
Taishiro was still in UA, starting out his third year, and has kept going with his studies to get his Hero name out there, his Hero name being Fat Gum. He didn't know why he chose the name, as did Goma, cause he didn't think he was fat. Taishiro just thought it sounded kind of cool, like a sumo wrestler, which he liked to watch sumo matches back in his younger years when he was in Osaka. They moved to Musutafu when Taishiro was accepted to UA at the age of 14...and that was the year when their mother, Aini, passed away giving birth to Goma...
Either way, Sora decided to branch out his agency in Musutafu and let his old agency location still be in his home city of Osaka. Sora visits there oftentimes when he does Hero work, but as of right now, his older son's education matters, which is why he and his sons moved to Musutafu from Osaka.
As for Goma, he was taught by Miss Nugoro, letting him know the basics, such as counting, basic math, geography, kanji and lettering, grammar, and identifying what animal and place they're from. It was simple, but Goma was only four, so they took it one at a time. With that said, the teacher had a great time teaching little Goma, as he was sweet and always asked questions about certain things. It took a while for him to get what Miss Nugoro was trying to teach him while she taught certain subjects, but he would slowly get them in due time. There were even things that Goma said that made Miss Nugoro laugh, like when she showed him a picture of a cow, Goma said, "Well, it is meat, but it's not the right answer, is it?"
Miss Nugoro and Goma also formed a little bond as time went on. Every time she came in to teach him, she would see him do drawings of the pirates and their adventures that he would tell her so much about. She would be amazed by their adventures, and how Goma had such an active imagination. It almost intrigued her that a boy that young would think this stuff up. She would be lying if she said that she wasn't interested in his 'little' story. She felt like Goma had some kind of higher intelligence that was advanced for his age if he were able to come up with these characters and story he has.
However, he always says that "It happened!" whenever she compliments the story...she didn't know if this was when her child psychology knowledge would come into play, but right now, she was more fascinated by the story. She'll just play along and humor him that it did happen, but in the meantime, this could be a good starting point of where he got all this information in his story. Sora did tell her that Goma would say certain things that sounded strange and that would involve his characters, and he did ask her to monitor him whenever he acted a little out there when mentioning them.
Honestly, this intrigued her more, and she wanted to not only learn where Goma got all this imagination from, but she also wanted to help him. They formed somewhat of a sister and brother bond more than a teacher and student, maybe a mother and son bond during the weeks she taught him. She came to grow a little attached to Goma, as he was such a sweet, funny, and entertaining little kid. They usually go on little field trips, like the zoo to see how some animals live their lives, museums, and even get ice cream when Goma gets answers right.
Sora noticed this as well, and was glad he chose Miss Nugoro Fujina as Goma's homeschool teacher. During the times he saw them together, they were always laughing and having fun with each problem Miss Nugoro was teaching Goma. He can't help but smile...and he also feels like he wants to know Miss Nugoro a lot more. So she and Sora usually have get-togethers and she tells him how Goma solved some problems, how he acted that day, and tells Sora more about the story his son has been telling her. While Goma's story about pirates was very much well in his mind, Sora couldn't help but admire Mis Nugoro at how well she was with kids, and how much she glowed when she mentioned his son doing funny things...
They soon got to know each other a lot more from casual dates and outings as the months went on, and while Miss Nugoro was eight years younger, Sora couldn't help but feel attracted to her, and Miss Nugoro couldn't help but feel like something was there when it came to Sora...
Miss Nugoro kept teaching Goma and kept having contact with Sora, with the weekends being a little bit of 'family' time. Taishiro knows something is up with his dad and Miss Nugoro, and while it has been four years since his mother's passing, he feels almost a little annoyed that his father and Goma's homeschool teacher are being a little friendly with each other. Upon asking him about it, wondering if he and Miss Nugoro are becoming a thing, Sora answered him honestly, saying that they might be. Upon showing his annoyance and slight disdain for his father finding another woman, Sora told Taishiro that he would always love his mother in spirit and would always remember her, and even though he was the only son who was close to Aini, Goma never knew their mother, and he needed a mother figure in his life. He understood why Taishiro was a little upset, and it wasn't that the teenager didn't like Miss Nugoro, he thought she was a nice lady, but Sora had to somewhat move on from the grief of losing his wife and to try and keep their family together. He told Taishiro that he still loved his mother, and that he thinks Miss Nugoro could be that mother that Goma could have in his life. Feeling at ease, Taishiro understood and accepted his father dating Miss Nugoro.
It took around a year or so, and that's when Sora popped the question to Miss Nugoro...to Fujina. She said yes, and soon, they were married. Goma was happy to have Fujina as his mom, and Taishiro also couldn't be happier.
Now the Toyomitsu family is complete again...
A couple of years passed, and Sora was still doing Hero work, and Taishiro was now his sidekick in his agency. Fujina was still happily teaching Goma, the boy being educated by her. She also listened to Goma's story a lot more, hearing the characters go on their adventures and beating a 'World Government', as well as 'bad pirates and Pirate Emperors'. The story really interested her, and it seemed to get Goma all excited as time went on when he tells her about it. One interesting thing that Fujina caught, is that Goma still always mentions the main character of this story, The Captain. He never gave him a name. Upon asking why that is, Goma just shrugged and said "I don't know. I guess he doesn't want a name right now.". Curious about that, but decided to chalk it up as he couldn't think of a name for the main character, Fujina just let him continue his story of naming the main character "The Captain".
Goma soon finished his story when he was six years old, which amazed Fujina to know that this story was that long! Upon asking him how he got that kind of imagination, Goma answered her honestly, saying that he "lived through it.". Not knowing what that meant, Fujina asked him what he meant by that. Goma just stood there for a while, a little confused, and said that he didn't know. Fujina felt almost a little worried there for a second, but ruled it out as Goma still being young, and maybe he was just playing with her.
After the story, Goma was now focusing on his studies a lot more...although he tries at times, looking like he has a small bit of ADHD from what Fujina could examine. Either way, Goma was now serious about his schoolwork, so he could make his new mom happy and proud!
A year later, though, about three days after he turned seven, an event happened with Goma. And it led to a surprise, to not only Fujina, but his father and older brother when they were informed.
It all started at a park in Musutafu...
In a park in Musutafu, Japan
Goma is Seven Years Old
"Okay, Goma, here we are!" Fujina told her stepson as she parked her car at the curb of the park.
"Alright!" Goma got his seatbelt off and out of the car from the back right seat in a rush.
Fujina also got her seatbelt off and got out of her driver's seat a little quickly, just so she could tell Goma, "Goma! Wait just a moment!"
Goma stopped in his sprint and turned around to give his stepmom an exaggerated pout, "Aw, Mom! Come on!"
"Goma, you have to wait for a lady!" Fujina said as she got out of her car and went around it to get to Goma, "Goodness, little guy, we're going to have to work on your impulsiveness."
"Hey, I'm not repulsive!" Goma said with a frown.
Fujina chuckled, "No, Goma, impulsive-ness. It means you do something without thinking."
"Oh..." tilting his head, Goma asked in curiosity, "Have I been impulsiveness lately?"
Fujina chuckled once more as she shook her head, "Goma, the real word is impulsive. I just put the -ness in there as a suffix that describes the state, condition, and quality of being for that adjective. In this case, it was your state."
"...Huh?"
Sweatdropping at her son's short attention span, Fujina just smiled at him, "Never mind. We'll learn about that some other day."
"Okay! Well, you're here now, so let's play!" Goma told her in excitement.
Giggling at her son's enthusiasm, Fujina said, "Yes, let's!"
They went and entered the park, which had other mothers and fathers there with their children. Goma and Fujina both went to the playground and played for a good while, with Gomi playing at the monkey bars while Fujina held onto him if he fell off of them, riding the little twirl-around, and Goma going down the slide as she catches him on the way down.
When they were done with the see-saws, it was time to go home. However, as the both of them were about to go to their car...
"Oh, excuse me, young Miss!? I'm so sorry to bother you, but have you seen my son?" said a slightly chubby mother with green short hair that reached to her shoulders and had a little ponytail at the back of her head. She looked to be in her mid to late thirties, almost forty, probably. She also looked really worried.
Fujina, who was holding Goma's hand, turned to the woman, as did Goma.
"Oh! Well, um, no, but, what does he look like?" Fujina asked her.
"Oh, well, he's about six years old, has quite the head of bushy green hair, freckles, and he...well, he's..." the woman paused, looking a little conflicted on saying the next thing.
Mistaking this as anxiety from the woman, Fujina said, "Ma'am, it's okay. What's your son's name?"
"Oh, it-it's Izuku!"
"Okay then," Fujina nodded, "What is his Quirk by any chance?"
"...He...w-well, he doesn't have a Quirk..." the woman murmured anxiously.
Fujina's eyes widened, "Oh..." her face then turned serious, "Okay then. No worries, ma'am, we'll find your son."
The woman looked up at Fujina in surprise. "Y-You will?"
"Of course. Your son is missing and I can't let it be on my conscience to leave a child without her mother." Fujina told her.
Goma blinked and thought about what his mother was saying. It was time to go home, but his mother wanted to go and help out this lady with finding her son. He doesn't even know the lady and her son, but if her mom wanted to help this lady find this 'Izuku', then maybe he should...
What...would the Captain do?
"...Momma? I want to help too!" Goma said suddenly.
Fujina looked down at her son, a little surprised by his inclusion. "You do?"
"Yeah! A good pirate does good things, like letting kids be with their mommas!"
The woman looked down at Goma and blinked.
"Well..." Fujina was going to interject, but seeing her son's eyes as they looked determined, she couldn't help but smile.
Definitely like his father and brother.
"Okay then, Goma, you can help us search too," Fujina nodded in approval.
"Oh my...why thank you, young man," the woman said with a sweet smile.
Goma gave a peace sign to the mother, "No problem!"
"What's your surname, if you don't mind me asking?" Fujina asked her.
"Oh! Uh, Mrs...well, Miss Midoriya! My name is Inko!"
"My name is Toyomitsu Fujina! And this is my son, Goma!" she introduced themselves.
"Toyomitsu...oh my, are you the wife of Rubber Band?" Inko said with shocked wide eyes.
Fujina smiled, feeling a little embarrassed but proud at the same time, "Yep, I sure am!"
"Oh my, well...oh my goodness, what am I doing!? We got to find my son!" Inko said out loud.
And soon they tried to find Inko's son Izuku in the tree-littered park...
The two women and Goma were looking for Izuku in the forested area of the large park, with Goma being near Fujina as they searched.
"So, how did you lose your son? Where were you last?" Fujina asked Inko to gather some information on where her son could be last seen.
"Oh, well...I was with him around this area, talking to one of my good friends and some other women, who also brought their sons along. They were playing with each other somewhere in the park and walked off...it's been a while, so me, my friend, and the others looked for them," Inko told her, feeling a little guilty, "Oh dear...I probably should've kept an eye on my little Izuku. I feel like we all should've done that...oh goodness, I feel horrible!"
"Ma'am, it's okay," reassured Fujina, "They were just being kids. I'm sure they aren't harmed, they're probably just playing. What do they usually play?"
"Um...Heroes and Villains mostly," Inko said with a frown as she looked a little crestfallen.
Fujina blinked, "What's wrong?"
"Oh, it's just...Izuku says he always plays the Villain. He really wants to be one of the Heroes in the game...he doesn't like to play as a Villain. He always dreamed of being a Hero when he grows up, just like All Might himself..." Inko then started to tear up, her face looking ashamed somewhat, "But...he doesn't have a Quirk, so...he basically...can't..."
Fujina, feeling sympathy for the woman, placed a hand on her shoulder, "Hey now, don't cry. It's going to be okay. Don't worry, we'll find your boy."
Goma, hearing this, felt...a little sad...well, it was a sad thing to know that this Izuku was Quirkless like him and he wanted to be a Hero, but he couldn't because of that...however, for some reason, it made him just...sad...but in a different way...
This Izuku guy dreams of being a Hero, yet he can't be one because he's Quirkless?
"...I think this Izuku can be a Hero," Goma said suddenly.
Inko and Fujina looked at the boy, their expressions confused yet surprised.
"Wh-What?" Inko asked him.
Goma nodded, "Yeah! If he wants to be one, then I think he should do it!"
"...Um..." Inko blinked, "W-Well, I..."
Before she could say anything, though, Goma then felt something...odd...it rang through his mind...
...He felt...anger...sadness...
...And it wasn't from his mom and Inko...nor from him.
He turned to the source of the sound...and for some reason, he could hear a voice, a voice in his mind that was telling him one thing:
Go!
And that he did.
Goma's hand slipped out of Fujina's hand, startling his mother, as the boy ran over to where he was sensing these emotions.
"Wha-Goma!?" Fujina called out to him.
But he didn't listen as he kept going into the forest, passing trees and bushes as he followed these strange feelings. He ignored his mother's cries as he ventured further into the park.
He didn't know what these feelings he had could be...but the voice commanded him to go...for some reason, the voice sounded different...but he recognized it before...but at the same time, he didn't...
Is that kind of...weird?
Either way, Goma rushed through the park to see that the feelings he was sensing were becoming shapes...shapes that looked like people.
These people looked small, like kids...kids like him.
He could see them.
It's like he could sense these kids and their emotions...and they were not very good emotions. Which made Goma try to see if he could do anything to help...
It was almost like back at his preschool back when he was four...
Whatever this feeling was or is...it was telling him something.
...And he might as well follow it if it's a part of him.
"Ya damn Deku!" said an angry blonde boy.
The blonde boy and two other boys, a kid with long fingers and a kid with wings hovering above them, were crowding around a boy with green broccoli bushy hair and freckles. The green-haired kid was a little burnt and beaten up a bit, which he was tearing up as well.
"Kacchan! This isn't how a Hero is supposed to be!" the green-haired kid said.
"Shut up! You ruin the whole game! You shouldn't have acted like you were protecting that kid because I was going to attack him! You were the Villain, and Villains should lose! The coward even ran away while you were protecting him!" the blonde boy exclaimed.
"I didn't want you to hurt him! This isn't how a Hero is supposed to act, Kacchan!"
The blond kid gritted his teeth and clenched his fists, "Who are you to tell me that I'm not being heroic!?" he swung a fist at the boy.
BOOM!
"ACK!" the green-haired boy flew back a bit and landed on his back on the ground.
"You're nothing but a Deku! You have no Quirk, so that's who and what you are! You'll always be a Deku! You're not a Hero!"
The green-haired boy just lay there, the feeling of sadness and hopelessness flooding in him.
"Sheesh, why do you even hang with us, Deku?" said the long-fingered boy.
"Yeah!" said the winged boy, "You won't be as cool as Bakugou!"
"Yeah, Bakugou has a cool Quirk and you're just Quirkless!"
"A Deku is what you are!"
"You should've just played the game as a Villain and everything would've been okay!"
"It's like you want to play the Villain!"
The green-haired kid just had tears in his eyes as he listened to their insults.
The blonde kid known as Bakugou sneered at the green-haired boy, "You hear that, Deku!? Stay in your place while I become a real Hero! As for that stupid promise, you can just forget it! I'm going to fulfill that dream myself! You're nothing but a loser!"
"...Y-You're wrong."
"Huh?" Bakugou raised a brow, as the two boys with Bakugou looked at the green-haired kid in surprise.
The green-haired boy struggled to get himself up, picking himself up from behind. He sat up and wobbled as he stood up. The boy then got his arms up and got into a fighting stance. He was gritting his teeth as his eyes were wet with tears.
"I'm...I'm going to be a Hero! I'll prove you wrong! I can still be a Hero!"
Bakugou just looked at the kid, his sneer broadening. Growling at the boy, he seethed as he was approaching him, getting his fist ready to punch him, "Know your damn place!"
Then...another kid, a boy, came through the bushes, right behind the green-haired kid. Bakugou was about to deliver the blow on the green-haired kid, but upon seeing the new kid, he paused.
The green-haired kid blinked and looked behind him.
The other two boys blinked in confusion as well.
The new kid...just looked at them...tilting his head as he asked, "Hey. What are you guys doing?"
Bakugou looked at the new kid and just frowned at him saying, "Nothing. Just showing this Deku not to mess with me. Who the hell are you?"
The new kid smiled, "My name is Goma! Toyomitsu Goma! What's yours?"
"Bakugou Katsuki. Now get lost," Bakugou told Gomi.
"Lost? ...I think I am...lost..." Gomi looked around the area.
The green-haired boy blinked at Goma once more. He then began to say, "Uh, hi..."
Goma looked at the green-haired boy, "Hm?" he came up to the boy and stared at him. The boy felt a little confused, but also a little nervous.
"U-Um..." the boy muttered.
Goma kept staring at him...
Green hair...freckles...
"...Hey, are you Quirkless?" Goma asked the kid.
The boy jumped in shock, while Bakugou blinked and the two other boys also looked on flabbergasted.
"...Um..." the green-haired boy lowered his head a bit and muttered, "Yes..."
"Oh! Then you must be Izuku!" Gomi said in realization.
The boy, known as Izuku, looked up at Goma in surprise, "Huh? Uh, y-yeah, that's my name. How did you know?"
"Oh, well, your mom is looking for ya," Gomi pointed his thumb behind him, "She looked really worried."
"My mom?" Izuku asked.
Then one of the boys, the long-fingered one, started to laugh, "Hahaha! Deku's mom is coming to get him! Looks like that's your cue, Deku! Run back to your momma! Hahaha!"
The winged kid also laughed as he landed on the ground, "Yeah! Come on, Bakugou, let's leave Deku to go back to his momma with his tail in between his legs!"
"Shut up!" Bakugou exclaimed to them, making the two boys jump in fright. "You don't tell me what to do!"
"U-Uh, okay! Sorry!" the winged kid said.
"Y-Yeah! Uh, s-sorry!" the long-fingered kid also said.
Bakugou sneered at them and turned his attention to Izuku and Goma. "Well, you might as well just get going, Deku. Cry back to Auntie Inko," he then scowled, "Actually, don't cry! I don't want you to blab to your mom about what I did, as well as anyone else! I'm gonna become a Hero and you're not gonna screw it up by telling people that I was roughing you up a bit! You got that!?"
Izuku shrank back a bit, while Goma just looked at Bakugou with a disapproving frown on his face.
Bakugou turned to Goma, "And you don't say nothing as well if you know what's good for ya! Tch, I bet you have a lame-ass Quirk, don't ya? Nothing cool like mine!"
Goma just stared at him, his arms crossed as he said, "I don't have a Quirk."
Bakugou looked surprised but smirked arrogantly, "No Quirk, huh? Then you're a loser like Deku!"
"Why do you call him Deku?" Goma asked Bakugou, still having a frown on his face.
"Huh?" Bakugou blinked and looked at him strangely, "Cause he's good for nothing!"
Now Goma glared at Bakugou, "Izuku wants to be a Hero, from what I heard."
Bakugou scoffed, "Yeah, well, he's chasing a worthless dream! I'm gonna be the greatest Hero ever, and I'll be number one!"
Goma just kept glaring at Bakugou, until he said, "Nah. I don't see it."
The two boys and Bakugou all just looked at Goma with shocked wide eyes.
Izuku also looked at him in shock.
"...What did you say?" Bakugou said, now glaring at Goma.
Goma shrugged, "I just don't think you're Hero material. You're kind of a jerk. If anything, from what I heard, Izuku wants to be a Hero...and you're not a jerk, right, Izuku?" he asked him as he turned his head to Izuku.
Izuku blinked, "Um...no..."
Goma nodded and turned his head back at Bakugou, "There. And if Izuku wants to be a Hero, then he can. Cause Izuku is not a jerk, and it's his dream!"
Izuku froze as he heard what Gomi said. A complete stranger just up and told him...he can be a Hero...
However, Bakugou didn't like what Goma was saying one bit.
"Are you freaking stupid!? He can't be a Hero because he doesn't have a Quirk! And screw his dream! I'm gonna be the best Hero in the world, not him!"
"Who says that anyone is trying to be the best? Izuku just wants to be a Hero. You're not acting like a Hero, so I think you're not fit for the position. In fact, you're the one that's acting stupid," Goma told him.
The two boys froze in shock at Gomi's statement. Bakugou also froze...but soon his whole form was shaking in anger.
Izuku looked at Goma in surprise, not believing what he just heard. "Wh-What!?"
"Yeah," Goma turned his head to Izuku, "This Bakugou guy is acting like a clown...hm...Buggy...like a Buggy the Clown."
"Buggy...the Clown?" Izuku blinked in confusion. "Who's that?"
"Hmm...I don't know...it just sounds familiar..."
Meanwhile, Bakugou was still shaking in rage...
This...This pebble thinks I'm stupid!? Not Hero material!? A...A CLOWN!?
"You...You bastard!" Bakugou roared in anger.
"Hm?" Goma looked back at Bakugou, while Izuku looked back with panic in his eyes.
"I...am going to kick your ass!" Bakugou seethed, glaring at Goma. He then rushed forward rearing his fist back at Goma to strike him...
...But Goma dodged him by stepping to his left, causing Bakugou to swing his fist down, but now was a little off balance seeing that Goma wasn't there anymore. Izuku backed away from Bakugou's fist, not wanting his explosive sweat to come near him.
But that wasn't all! Then, Goma grabbed the back of Bakugou's shirt, pulled it, and tossed him back to the kids!
"AACK!" Bakugou yelled out as he was tossed into the two boys.
"AAAH!" the boys also exclaimed and were knocked over by Bakugou coming at them.
Goma then grabbed Izuku's arm, while the green-haired boy looked on in amazement at how Goma handled that, and they ran off back into the forest.
"Ah!" Izuku exclaimed as he was dragged by Goma.
They ran off, away from Bakugou and his two goons. They kept running as they heard Bakugou cursing in the distance.
Izuku, while being dragged, looked at the boy who saved him from being beaten again. "U-Uh, thank you, um, Goma."
Goma glanced back at Izuku with a grin, "Hey, no problem! And if you want to be a Hero, then go for it! Who cares if you don't have a Quirk, you can do it!"
The green-haired boy just looked at him...he looked at him in awe...
"...I..." Izuku smiled, his eyes all teary, "I will! Th-Thank you, Goma!"
"Shishishi! Hey, I mean it! You can be who you want to be when you put your mind to it!"
Izuku kept smiling as the tears came down his face. Not wanting to cry in front of this kid, he wiped his eyes with his arm.
I...I can be a Hero !
Soon, after a minute or two, they found themselves back to Inko and Fujina, who were looking for the two boys.
"Izuku-Dear!" Inko exclaimed rushing over to her son.
"Goma!" Fujina exclaimed also, rushing over to him.
"Hey, Mom! Miss Inko! I found Izuku!" Goma announced as he lifted Izuku's arm to let them see it was him.
"Momma!" Izuku rushed over after Gomi let go, and hugged his mother.
"Oh my goodness, Dear! Where were you!?" Inko asked him in relief, letting go of Izuku and examining him, "Wha-How did you get these scraps and bruises? ...Wait a second, are these burnt marks!?"
"Uh, d-don't worry, Mom, I, uh, I fell! A-And, these burnt marks, u-uh...me and Kacchan were just rough-housing!"
"Oh...y-you were?" Inko asked, feeling like she should believe him...but at the same time, she had a nagging suspicion that that wasn't what happened.
"Goma!" Fujina went to her son and knelt in front of him, "Don't ever do that again! I know you wanted to help, but don't just run off without me present!"
Goma frowned, "I'm sorry, Mom. I guess I was being...uh, impulsive?"
Fujina blinked, and couldn't help but smile warmly at the boy, "Yes. Yes, it was. But...I can't help but feel proud of you right now, Sweetheart, so I'll let this slide."
"Really?" Goma said in surprise. Smiling at his mother, he said to her, "Okay! Wow, thanks, Mom!"
Izuku then pointed to Goma and told her, "Momma! Goma said I could be a Hero, even without a Quirk!"
Inko gasped, "H-He did?"
"Yeah! And I believe him! He said he was Quirkless too and believed I could!"
"Oh...w-well..." Inko then expressed a look of sadness, almost like she was expressing regret.
"Huh? Momma, are you okay?" Izuku asked her in worry.
"...I...y-yes, I am," Inko nodded, trying to smile. "So you...you believed that Goma boy?"
"Um, yeah..." Izuku gazed at his mother, wondering why she was smiling so forlornly.
"I...I see..." Inko said, her eyes watering as she smiled. "Then...y-you should tell him thank you for finding you and telling you...th-that you can be a Hero."
"...Mom? Are you okay?" Izuku asked her in confusion.
"Oh yes, yes I am!" Inko nodded, "I'm just...so happy you're alright!" Inko said as she wiped her eyes with her hand.
"Uh...okay..." Izuku wondered if his mother was telling him the truth.
Meanwhile, with Goma and Fujina...
"In fact, I think you need a reward for being so brave and heroic!" Fujina told Goma with a smile.
"Oooh! Really!? Alright!? Can I get some meat!?" Goma asked excitedly.
Fujina laughed a little sheepishly, "Well, um...we can get you a hamburger!"
"Hmm...okay then! That'll be good!" Goma said with a grin and a nod of approval.
"Hey, Goma?" Izuku said as he came up to him.
Goma turned to the other boy, "Huh? Yeah, Izuku?"
"I just want to say...thank you. Thank you for saying that I could be a Hero!" Izuku exclaimed with a big smile.
Raising a brow, Goma said, "Well, yeah, you can be a Hero! Go out and achieve your dream!"
Smiling bigger, Izuku nodded and said, "Yeah! I will! Thanks, Goma! Hey, do you want to be friends?"
Upon hearing that, Goma grinned and nodded as well, "Yeah! You're pretty cool! You even stood up that jerk who was trying to beat you up!"
"Wh-What!?" Inko exclaimed in shock.
"Someone was beating Izuku up?" Fujina asked in surprise, "Oh my goodness! Goma, who was this person?"
"Eh, it was a kid named-"
"No!" shouted Izuku.
"Eh?" Goma looked back at Izuku in confusion.
The two mothers also looked at Izuku in question.
"Um...i-it doesn't matter!" Izuku said nervously, "It's all dealt with! G-Goma basically stood up for me! Th-The kid...it doesn't matter if he did it, it's, uh...it's not worth it!"
Goma tilted his head, a little puzzled.
Why is Izuku covering up for that Bakugou kid? He was trying to beat him up!
Fujina sees that he's trying to hide something, but she decides to let him explain it to his mother if he needs to.
"Um..." Inko said, "Well...uh, okay then, Izuku..." she also was a little suspicious of whoever her son was defending...but she might have some inkling of an idea.
It was then Goma shrugged, "Okay then. I won't say who it is."
Izuku nodded and smiled in relief, "Yeah! Uh, th-that's good...and, uh, thanks again! This time for saying that I stood up for myself!"
Goma grinned, "No problem! You'll make a cool Hero!"
"Aww, thanks," Izuku sheepishly said, lowering his head down in embarrassment. He looked up at Goma, "You know, you should be a Hero too!"
"Huh? A Hero?" Goma thought about that concept, "Hmm...well, I'm more of a pirate than a Hero."
Izuku blinked, "A pirate?"
Fujina chuckled, "He has a very big imagination. Actually, I agree with Izuku. What you did was heroic, Goma. You should think of following in your father's footsteps!"
"Huh? Who's your dad?" Izuku asked Goma.
"My dad is known as Rubber Band, The Rubber Hero!" Goma proclaimed happily, a little proud.
"Rubber Band!? Oh wow!" Izuku said with stars in his eyes, "He's a great Hero!"
"Shishishi! Yeah, he is pretty cool!"
"Whoa! Hey, do you have a favorite Hero? Mine's All Might!"
"Hmm...I don't know! I just think my dad is good at what he does, so...my dad, Rubber Band!"
Izuku nodded his head up and down excitedly, "Okay! Yeah, he really is a cool Hero!"
"Izuku-Dear? It's getting pretty late, so we should probably go back home now," Inko told her son.
"Oh, okay!" Izuku said to his mother. He turned to Goma, "Hey, do you want to hang out sometime?"
"Sure!" Goma said with a big smile, "Hey, do you like playing "pirates"?"
"Uh...yeah, I guess so."
"Alright!" Goma cheered. "Hey, do you want to play at the park or at my place?"
"Uh...well, maybe your place?" Izuku suggested.
"Awesome! Let's meet up!" he turned to his stepmother, "Hey, Mom! Is that okay if Izuku comes over?"
Fujina smiled, "Why of course, Sweetheart! Let me talk to Miss Midoriya and see what day is good."
"Oh, why, yes..." Inko couldn't help but smile at her son and Goma, seeing that they were becoming friends.
As the mothers were discussing the day and time for young Goma and Izuku, Izuku asked Goma, "Hey, you said you're Quirkless. What kind of condition do you have?" Mine is a double-jointed pinkie toe."
"Hm? Oh, uh...hm..." Goma thought about it, "...I don't know. I forgot..." he sat on the ground, taking his shoe and sock off, looking at his right foot, his pinkie toe.
Izuku blinked, "What are you doing?"
"I'm trying to see if my pinkie toe has that..." Goma pinched his pinkie toe...but the toe then squished under his finger and thumb! Gomi looked at this, surprised that his toe was all squishy looking.
Izuku, on the other hand, had his eyes widened in shock and horror. "Huh!?"
"Huh?" Goma wiggled his pinkie toe a little bit, making the toe look like a bulbous-looking growth. Once he let go of it, the pinkie toe went back into its natural shape. "...Huh..." he then grabbed his pinkie toe and...pulled it straight up, making it stretch!
Looking on in alarm, but wonder, Izuku gazed at the stretching pinkie toe. Goma stretched it up to his face! "Uh...G-Goma? I thought you said you didn't have a Quirk?"
"Uh...I didn't..." Goma said in confusion.
"GOMA!?" shouted Fujina, "WHA-WHAT HAPPENED!?"
Goma looked at his stepmother, letting go of his pinkie toe, and letting it retract and snap back into its place, making it look like it wasn't stretched in the first place. His mother looked on in wide-eyed horror behind her glasses. Inko was also looking on in slight shock as she was blinking at this odd occurrence that was happening to Goma.
"Um...I...I don't know..." Goma said, puzzled.
...Something...strange is going on here...
