Tatooine laid in darkness, but the city of Mos Eisley stayed illuminated for any late night travelers. An alarm began to beep awakening Peli's pit droids that a ship approached. The droids released into formation analyzing the vessel on a scope. Immediately Peil awoke in a panic when she saw the model.
"It's an X-Wing. What's an X-Wing doing here?" The droids began directing the landing of the ship when Peli informed BD-72 to stay in the control center, hide certain contraband, and lock it up.
In a friendly wave Peli believed she would be greeting an officer of the New Republic and went into a spiel, "I filed for my New Republic certification seal just as you were landing. Quite a coincidence, if you ask me," Peli approached the X-Wing with gritted teeth but then saw who was in the ship; Osa and Yazel. "Well look who it is! Kiddo and Bright Eyes. Are you piloting your own ship now?"
"I sure am, look at this baby has four 4L4 fusial thrust engines, equipped with Taim and Bak KX9 laser cannons, and a Novaldex 04-Z cryogenic power generator. You don't see that very often. This baby has gotten me through a lot," Osa patted the side of the ship when R2 beeped intensely. "OK so the ship 'per say,'" Osa air quoted, "Isn't mine, more of a rental, but I still piloted it."
R2 beeped again when Osa peered over and stared at the droid, "What! You were driving the entire time and you didn't tell me. Well that's embarrassing." Osa crossed her arms over her chest as Yazel sat in her lap and patted her leg with sincerity.
R2 beeped addressing Peli since Osa sat pouting, when Peli responded, "The Mandalorian he's not here. I don't know. He's on a job in Mos Espa. But slow down. Give me a second," Peli climbed the ladder to reach the cockpit to help Osa out with anything, when Yazel out stretched his little arms for Peli to pick him up.
She did with joy when Peli glanced at Osa in confusion, "Hey why are the both of you not with your dad?"
"That's a long story, if you got some grub Yazel and I can tell you all about it," Osa answered.
"Yazel, that's your name, don't expect me to call him that. You're Bright Eyes to me. Next you're going to tell me your name's not Kiddo."
"But it's not," Osa said while exiting the X-Wing.
"Yah OK Kiddo," Peli chuckled while setting up a table for everyone to eat on.
Night had melted into day as Osa told Peli about her journeys with Yazel and her father. Peli stayed wide-eyed amazed on the Kiddo's tales and even by her demonstration.
"See, I can control it now," Osa said with confidence using the Force to bring a shuura fruit near, but then accidently made it explode, splattering everyone, "Well mostly control it."
Yazel screeched in joy slurping up the fruit pieces while Peli picked out chunks from her hair. Suddenly Yazel went quiet and glanced at Osa in worry.
"You feel it too," Osa said, "Papi feels on edge," Osa turned to Peli hoping she had answers, "Is something going down in Mos Espa?"
"Not to my knowledge, but I have heard the Pikes are causing some commotion, probably nothing to worry about," Peli shrugged it off but Osa and Yazel couldn't ignore that feeling.
"Peli, we need to find our dad," Osa said in certainty.
Din wasn't sure if he was going to make it out of this situation alive. By Creed, he vowed to Boba that he would fight to his end and with these Scorpenek Annihilator droids he was certain he would meet his demise. Din would do his best to distract the menacing droid in order to give Boba time, but Din was running out of his own.
He ran for cover, dodging the droids blaster fire when he rounded a corner as a RIC-series droid approached. There they were, he couldn't believe it, Din questioned himself if he was hallucinating from a concussion, but no his children were here in the flesh.
"Papi," Din heard as he saw his daughter pointing behind him. Din came to his senses and yelled for them to turn around, when Peli wasted no time and commanded the Rickshaw droid to do so.
In haste, Din jumped on the back of the RIC-series as it sped off. Peli yelled and threw a wrench at the droid screaming for it to go faster in order to get away from the approaching danger. Everyone hung on for dear life but Yazel Force jumped out of Osa's lap and into Din's arms. Osa wasted no time and lunged into her father's arms also, she could feel him pulling them tighter to him knowing he would never let them go again.
"What are the both of you doing here? I didn't know if I would ever see you again," Din said.
"Same here, but we don't have to worry about that ever again," Osa declared while sitting down and taking Yazel back so her father could hang on.
Din glanced down at his children and noticed his gifts were being worn; Yazel had his Beskar chain link shirt on underneath his tunic and Osa had soldered her signet onto her pauldron, just like her fathers.
"What are they doing here?' Din questioned to Peli.
"The Force works in mysterious ways," she replied while shooting at the Scorpenek droid.
Everyone's attention was on the impeding danger while Yazel tried to warn anyone because the Rickshaw droid (who was driving the RIC-series) was damaged. Suddenly it lost its head and fell forward catapulting its passengers into the air.
Peil, Osa, Yazel and the pit droids were flung into the air when Din ignited his jetpack and scooped up his kids before they hit the ground. Din landed on this back as Osa and Yazel clung onto their father before they slid to a halt.
Osa heard her father grunt and quickly rolled off him knowing she was added weight. Everyone continued shooting at the Scorpenek droid and ran for cover when they heard roaring in the distance. Suddenly massive three finger claws clutched onto the side of the buildings when a Rancor peered over with Boba Fett riding on top.
"Dank Ferrick!" Osa yelled knowing she could get away with saying the foul phrase once.
Sensing a different enemy, the Scorpenek droid changed tactics and focused on destroying the Rancor. Boba charged at the droid using the Rancor's full brute strength, smashing at the force field surrounding the Scorpenek. The shield held strong but the Rancor was able to create a fracture and flipped the droid onto its back.
Immediately up righting itself, Boba continued his attack when Din saw a window of opportunity. He ushered his children into a shop and instructed for them not to move as he would handle this. Osa tried to argue that they need to work together, but her father had ignited the Darksaber and began his own attack.
The Rancor's claws were penetrating through the droids force field, this allowed Din to slice through with the saber and finally enter. Igniting his jet pack, Din flew on top of the droid, began slicing off parts, and eventually impaling it, but it still couldn't be stopped.
The droid shot a blast straight into the Rancor causing the creature to retreat when the droid threw Din off, honing in on its next victim. Din had become immobile due to the fall as the droid struck at his leg, but luckily his Beskar held up.
"Come on Yazel, Papi needs our help. Just like before with the training remote, except this is a thousand times larger and is actually trying to destroy us, but we can't let that discourage us," Osa attempted to be positive because the droid was going in for the kill on her dad.
Yazel walked forward, positioning himself in the center as Osa flipped and summersaulted her way behind the droid. The two were in sync, mimicking each other's movement as if looking in a mirror.
Osa and Yazel raised their arms high into the air and began bringing their opposite hands closer together, but were struggling. They had never done something of this magnitude before, Master Luke kept the lessons simple, but destroying this droid was prudent in order to save their father, plus the people and city.
Osa and Yazel kept inching their hands closer and closer together, the two strained, acting as if there was an imaginary object they were trying to squeeze. Din could hear the grunts escaping from his children as he witnessed their raw power.
The two were compressing an imaginary object between their hands, but from their actions the droid began encaving upon itself, with one final push Osa and Yazel squished their hands together making the droid immobile.
The two dropped from exhaustion when the remaining Pikes began to flee from fear. Din got to his feet and commanded for the remaining fighters to keep shooting because the Pikes were retreating. Din immediately scoped up Yazel in his arms and went over to Osa kneeling by her side.
"We're OK," Osa reassured.
"That makes me relieved. You're bouncing back much faster," Din noticed.
"I've learned a lot from Master Luke," Osa said in confidence.
Her statement was music to his ears because he didn't hear the fear within her voice no more. Suddenly they heard the Rancor cry out when they realized this ordeal wasn't over.
"Looks like more people need our help," Osa got up as the three headed off in the direction of danger.
The Rancor had become lose, the remaining soldiers started to shoot at the beast causing its rampage. Without hesitation Osa ran in front, placing her hands out, pleading for the people to stop shooting.
"You're scaring it," she yelled as the Rancor scaled the side of a tall building.
"Hold your brother," Din handed Yazel to Osa and then gave his son the silver knob, "Hold onto this." Yazel squealed in delight while Osa pleaded.
"Papi what are you going to do?"
"I'll handle this."
"How, you had a fit when I brought home a wild Lothal cat one time," Osa reminded but her father flew off grabbing the Rancor's reins and saddled up.
Immediately the creature bucked Din off and wanted to make a snack out of him instead. The Rancor chomped down onto Din's helmet but didn't like the taste of metal. Din blew fire into the creature's mouth when it threw Din to the ground as he laid there stunned.
Osa and Yazel ran to their father's side while the remaining soldiers and pedestrians fled. Osa attempted to wake up her father, but he had hit the ground hard. Knowing they would have to take matters into their own hands, Osa (with Yazel in her arms) stood between the Rancor and their father. The creature roared in frustration when Yazel extended his arm while Osa recited the word "sleep" over and over again.
The Rancor knelt down, leaned forward, and started to relax. Its eyes closed, chin rested on the sand while it was guided into a subconscious state. Osa and Yazel walked up to the creature and patted it on the snout, looking back at their father, proud of themselves for handling the situation without casualties. Seeing their father's struggles, Osa went immediately to his side and helped him up. The people of Mos Espa slowly emerged from their hiding ecstatic the chaos was over.
"Ummm," Osa said while scratching the top of her helmet, "So did the Crest shrink or are you surprising me with my own starship! Papi you shouldn't have!" Osa said ecstatic climbing into the pilots seat while handing her father Yazel.
"Sorry Mi Pequeno, but your seat is back there," Din pointed to the droid compartment.
"Did I get demoted? Isn't that usually where the droid goes? I mean I know Yazel and I are small and compact, but Papi come on, this has to go against some New Republic child protection law," Osa said.
"Are you not eighteen?" Din reminded.
"Number wise, but personality wise, I act as a five year old," Osa tilted her head to the side, shrugging her shoulders, trying to appear as innocent as possible.
"I can't argue with the facts," Din ticked at the side of her cheek.
"Papi!"
"Sorry kiddo, back of the ship," Din pointed to the dome compartment and flipped a switch to open it.
"Ugh," Osa tilted her head back and climbed to the back fitting into the seat that was crafted for her and Yazel, "I guess this is cozier than it appears." Osa peered around noticing some items that had been saved from the Crest waiting for her in her new space.
Din got situated and prepped for take off. The N1 Starship vibrated to life and hummed with perfection. He took them to orbit when Osa began navigating through the ship's system.
"What does a Kineso-switch do?" Osa radioed to her father when he wasted no time, flipped the red button as they sped off in a blinding speed.
