Evan blinked and looked around. They weren't in the tower like he had expected, no they were in an abandoned classroom. Daphne in the memory sat on a desk, anxiously tapping her fingers. The Potter family watched as the door slowly opened and Hadrian stepped inside. His hair was messier than usual, and sweat glistened his body. It was like he had been running.

Daphne stared at him and raised her brow. " You're late." she declared.

Hadrian shrugged it off. " Had detention with Snape." He replied nonchalantly. It didn't take much effort to see that her son was lying. He walked forward and kissed Daphne and wrapped his arms around her.

Daphne pushed herself off of him for a bit and let out a soft giggle. " You're sweaty and you stink." She said, but was also quite confused.

" Well if Snape wasn't such a dick, I wouldn't have had detention." Harry added before leaning in for another kiss.

Daphne ran her hands through his hair and slid her hands down to his collarbone. He winced slightly at her touch and she noticed it. She saw something oddly pointing at his collarbone and pulled his shirt away to see what it was. His collarbone jutted out at a weird angle. It looked broken.

"Hadrian," Daphne said gently, trying to get his attention. Hadrian tried to avoid her gaze, but she was persistent. " What happened?"

"Quidditch." Hadrian replied flatly. Still not looking at her.

Daphne raised her eyebrow again. "Quidditch?" She repeated back.

"Quidditch." Harry agreed.

Daphne stared at him hard, not that he was bothered by it. The Potter family all had the same thing in mind as Daphne in the memory. " Bullshit." Daphne said.

Hadrian just sighed. " Whatever." he answered and just turned towards the door. Daphne got up and cut him off, blocking him from his way out.

" They say you're never in your dormitory at night." She said, "Got other company?"

Hadrian's eyes didn't change, they looked dead, like he wasn't even there. Like he was gone, living some distant memory inside his head. '"Jealous?" He asked in a challenging tone. It seemed to both affect the memory of Daphne and the real one.

" Concerned." She said, taken back by the way he was treating her. "Wherever you go at night, it's the reason you have a broken collarbone and bags under your eyes. I think you don't know what you're doing, Hadrian." She said with concern in her every word.

Hadrian's eyes darkened even deeper than before if it was possible. " believe what you want, it's what everyone else does anyway." He pushed past her and walked out.

That memory faded and it was replaced by another one. It appeared to be the same year. Daphne was walking back to her dorm past curfew and when she heard something down the hall she slid behind a statue of armor and listened carefully, trying not to get caught.

Daphne leaned closer when she started to hear voices. Both of them familiar to her. "Potter, you continue to amaze me with your incompetence and arrogance." The voice belonged to Professor Snape.

" Aw Snape, I never knew that you felt that way about me." Hadrian said as he appeared in sight. Snape looked like he normally did, but Hadrian looked drained. He appeared to be limping, and the bags under his eyes were prominent. They always were everytime she looked at him.

Snape sneered. " I don't know why Dumbeldore thinks you have the capacity to handle this mission. Don't you have better things to do?" He said annoyed with the young boy that he seemed to hate.

Harry laughed, but it was bitter. " Don't worry, professor," he said. " I have nothing better to do than this. So I'm not going anywhere" Hadrian said. Daphne sat confused as to what Hadrian was talking about. Was he not just in detention? Like he always was.

Snape narrowed his eyes, as if searching for something in Hadrian. It appeared that he didn't seem to find it. "You're dismissed, Potter. My office, eight o'clock sharp tomorrow. You best not be late." Snape said with a venomous tone. Hadrian just walked away, without saying anything to him.

Snape on the other hand didn't move and Daphne who was content to just sit and wait for him to leave, just stayed in her hiding spot. Well that was until Snape said, " You could do with a better hiding spot, Ms. Greengrass."

Daphne came out of her hiding spot and just stared at her professor. "Ms. Greengrass, were you on your way back to your dorm?" Snape said, tilting his head, wondering what the girl had heard.

Daphne nodded her head. " Yes sir." She replied confidently, not showing any fear.

Snape gave a small nod of approval at this. " You may return to your dormitories Ms. Greengrass. Just know that should you be found out of past curfew again, I won't be as lenient." He said and Daphne went to walk away before a question started to plague his mind.

She was unsettled by what she had heard. " Sir, what is wrong with Potter?"

"Besides his genetics?" Snape said uncharacteristically. Daphne wasn't amused. On seeing his student's serious face, he softened. " I would advise you to not get too close to Mr. Potter, Daphne. His future does not look bright from where I am standing." With that Snape turned back into his office and disappeared. Daphne stood there processing what she had just heard.

The memory faded out and was replaced by another one. It was the same empty classroom as the first memory Daphne had shown them. Hadrian looked even more tired, but now he looked nervous. Hadrian was rarely ever nervous, he was always cool-headed and calm. To see Hadrian like this was weird for his family. He was pacing in the classroom back and forth. Daphne sat on a desk again staring at him. A frown on her face. Hadrian was running his hands through his hair.

Daphne was the first to speak. " You wanted to talk. Talk." her voice was cold, her tone showing that she was mad at the guy in front of her.

"I'm trying to!" Harry exclaimed. His voice was frustrated and weary.

" Well what is it? Are you ashamed of me?" She guessed.

"No!" Hadrian said back, still pacing.

" You're afraid of what your friends will think, what your family will think"

"No!"

"You don't trust me." it wasn't a question, but more of a sad declaration. Evan glanced at the real Daphne's face, but it showed nothing.

Hadrian finally stopped pacing and started stepping closer to Daphne." I trust you Daphne, more than anyone else right now. Otherwise I wouldn't have asked you here." He said pleadingly.

Daphne was now shouting. " Then why? Tell me why, Hadrian! I'm so sick of being your closet buddy when any other girl can talk to you in broad daylight. But not me! Why can't you just tell me the truth?"

Hadrian's voice was low. " Because it wouldn't be safe. I don't want to see you hurt, Daphne."

Daphne looked at him, her brow furrowed. "Then just tell me Hadrian."

Hadrian looked into her eyes sadly, "I don't know if you'll even believe me." Daphne felt her heart break at his words. After everything, he didn't trust her.

Daphne shook her head and stepped in front of him. " Just promise me that you'll tell the truth." She said in a near whisper, but it was so quiet that Hadrian heard her perfectly.

Hadrian nodded. " I promise."

The Potter family listened as Hadrian explained his task from Dumbleore, how he trained with Moody every other night, leaving bruises and broken bones, how Snape was training him in Occlumency, how most nights he didn't get into bed until two or three in the morning. Hadrian spilled his heart out to her.

If Hadrian was spilling out his heart, he was also breaking Daphne's. Evan had never been in love or ever had his heart broken, but he figured that if the pure look of devastation on Daphne's face wasn't heartbreak, nothing else could be. The real Daphne seemed to be reliving the moment over again.

When Hadrian was done talking, it was quiet for a moment, as Daphne needed to gather her thoughts. The first words out of Daphne's mouth weren't "Why?" like Evan or any of the other Potter's would have asked. Instead, she asked, "Who else knows?"

"Dumbledore, Snape, and Moody," Hadrian responded.

"Not your friends?"

"No."

"Not your brother or sister?"

"No."

"Not your parents?"

Hadrian just shook his head. " Just you."

At that moment, Daphne kissed Hadrian and he returned it in likeness.

The memory faded out and the Potter family pulled their heads out of the Pensieve. Daphne did as well, and watched the family of four carefully.

"Why didn't you tell anyone?" Lily asked furiously. She would've done anything, would always do anything to help her children, but no one had given her the opportunity.

Daphne narrowed her eyes. " Hadrian trusted me, and it wasn't my place to." After a moment she added, "Besides, I would've done the same thing for my family."

The energy seemed depleted from the room and the Potter family quickly left. Later on, lying in bed, Evan was unable to sleep after the events of the day. Yet he kept on thinking about what Daphne had said. " I would've done the same for my family." Last Evan had heard, the Greengrasses were settled happily in France, the youngest enrolled at Beauxbaton. They had been there for a couple of years now, but Daphne remained in England, feverishly pursuing the prosecution of Death Eaters. He couldn't help but wonder if Hadrian and Daphne were doing the same thing after all.
